Download What Would Tech Support Do? apk 1.1 free for Android smartphone
Apk file size: 1.7 MB
A simple app to guide you through the series of choices most "computer people" (e.g. nephews, co-workers, that neighbor with the glasses) follow when helping "not computer people." Unlike those people, this app is specifically programmed not to judge you during the process.
When you get to the end of the instructions your problem will either be solved, or you can be confident your problem is serious enough that your local techie won't let out an exasperated sigh when do have to ask for their help.
Please email me with any suggestions or comments, I'm generally very responsive and enjoy the feedback!
Credit for the concepts in this app goes to XKCD (http://xkcd.com/627/).
Created in AppInventor 2 courtesy of MIT (http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu/), with modifications to the manifest (to remove unecessary permissions) using AppToMarket (http://amerkashi.wordpress.com/2011/02/14/automating-conversion-of-app-inventor-apk-to-google-market/).
To my knowledge none of the permissions are used by the app and are simply leftover from the generic code generation of AppInventor2 (If you don't trust MIT, who can you trust?).
