Weather4D is the first application to use the power of GPU to animate the weather like a video. 2D or 3D display is complemented by the continuous scrolling of time which allows to perfectly visualize the evolution of weather phenomena to come. The automatic scrolling can be accelerated or slowed manually by forward or backward in time by simply sliding a finger or by time increments through taps on icons "next / previous".

Weather data types:

- Cloud cover
- Precipitations (Rain, Snow)
- Wind 10 m above mean sea level
- Temperature 2 m above mean sea level
- Pressure MSL
- CAPE
- Waves (Height, period & direction)
- Ocean currents

Data model:

- Data from Arpège, Arome, WRF, NOAA GFS, NAM, CMC GEM, COAMPS, FNMOC WW3, MyOcean
- Forecasts up to 10 day
- Data steps : 3h, 12h, 24h
- Worldwide Cover
- Data updated 4 times a day (every 6 hours)

The data are in the form of stacked layers that can be assembled at will. The fine tunings allow to adjust the readability according to the taste of user: modes display, level of transparency, types of symbols, etc.. A "full screen mode" allows you to use the entire screen area.

Weather4D is a very user friendly application and easy to use. However, it relies on highly accurate forecasts developed for professional use worldwide. It is designed for demanding users.

Love it! Would be a much bigger hit with meteorologists if local/custom grib files were allowed and/or upper level parameters were available (850,700 mb height, temp, rh, winds; 500mb vorticity and height, 300mb wind and height, etc)

Excelent GRIB software Easy to use, great detail, very nice!

The best efficient GRIB viewer for mobile phone

Slow Huge as hell. Doesn't tell you that you only get 1day of forecast unless you pay. Screen froze up too.

Eddie R. Hernandez-Gomez

Very good and accurate

Best weather app When will global WRF be available?

The Best This is the best Android weather modelling app I have ever seen. Works great on my Samsung Galaxy Tab4 7.0 running android 4.4. Unfortunately I cannot install it on my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone as it requires android 4.2 and up and my phone is 4.1. I emailed the developer 3 weeks ago asking if the next upgrade of the app could possibly lower this requirement and received no response. For this reason I give it 3 stars. I will give it 4 if the developer responds and 5 if the 4.2 and up requirement is lowered.

Not bad needs a few different options for pressure readings and 1 hour data steps would be nice its just way to fast even at 3 hour data steps it would also be nice to haves the high and lows with the isobars pressure .It also seems to drain the battery rather fast. I have had a few issues with it freezing and crashes sent a few emails to the developers of this app not much support

Can't zoom in, uninstaling.....thanks for that, all working now

Super Best weather app

Nice display but not intuitive When you get the weather data it displays it quite well but it took a while to work things out. Controls are not intuitive and there are some frustrations with the menus and display that make the over-all experience a bit clunky.

Navigation needs waypoint import & export Nice app for weather (although gribs etc not that useful for coastal cruising here in British Columbia - - need Environment Canada forecasts). Navigation portion looks of interest (especially as raster charts are used!), but it really needs ability to import (and export) waypoints, such as a gpx file. There does not seem to be a manual in English for the Android App.

Charting problems! Navigation needs waypoint import/export; chart downloading awkward Downloading/using charts VERY PROBLEMATIC. Not very useable for navigation! Nice app for weather (although gribs etc not that useful for coastal cruising here in British Columbia - - need Environment Canada forecasts). Navigation portion looks of interest (especially as raster charts are used!), but it really needs ability to import (and export) waypoints, such as a gpx file. There does not seem to be a manual in English for the Android App. Chart downloading VERY awkward: one has to zoom in on every area (bay, cove) to ensure one gets charts with best detail. Takes a long time and due to 2GB limit, only small areas can be saved. (Note to developers: here in Canada, and many other countries, one cannot be connected to the internet while cruising in order to download chart!) Remarkably (and potentially dangerous), charts do not indicate depth metric (fathoms or metres).

Looks good features need to be added. Import/export mainly. Hopefully the development will continue. Really would be nice to view current speeds as well as Sea Surface Temperature.

Mark Steele

Useless USA only

Jessica Emerick

No raw export or import ahhh crap Please add this. As a spotter. I would love to finde a app that can import raw data stream. On top of or overlay current data

Weather4hd Keeps centering on tha good ole usa! Im not in usa, stop doing it.bloody pain. Even setting it to "read my bloody gps" dossnt stop it.

Needs more options Love the layout and interface for looping and zooming etc but would be great if there was the option to view more model parameters to help with forecasting E.g. Abs vorticity, 500mb heights, 850 temps, LI and cape etc etc. Still on the hunt for something similar to this but with more. If more is added I will be back to subscribe.

Awesome Blue pressure isobars though hard to distinguish from blue water. Would be great to have some white/yellow or similar offline map option. No high-res needed as you look at isobars on global scale mostly anyway.

Sarah Berube

Great... when it works I often get error messages and it won't load the files.

Adriann Santos

Always having trouble with data I've selected all options for GFS (e.g. precipitation, MSLP, and others) but it doesn't show anything at all.

Lele LL

Too many bugs I use the IOS version regularly and I'm a big fan of this app. Unfortunately the android version is not comparable: the porting is far from being usable. The download feature is mostly broken, behaves unpredictably and generates a lot of traffic downloading the same content multiple times. Random crashes and many UI issues makes the experience worse. I'm really sorry to say that, but the current status of this app is not acceptable.

rick barker

Nice Awesome app. After I really got into it, I found that for me as a trucker, it will help me a lot when traveling this winter. NICE JOB developers! BUT, I would really like to know what the definitions are for the abbreviations across the top of the weather map screen? Most are recognizable, but some are not!

Mark Kelly

Accurate Use this all the time sailing and offshore. Easy to read and very dependable

Seattle Rex

Awesome Possibly the best weather app on Android
