Needs tweaking. Its not intuitive to read your address even with correct grammar. You cannot simply search a bus number/timetable, you have to plan a journey.

Hamid Mohd Said

Love this I really love this app. As it always quick and easy to use. No more quickly rushing to the stop to check times or having old time tables

Travis Rogers

Link to your smartrider The transperth app works well (it occasionally shuts down (unknown error when you load up a different line to check on train times, but it starts tught up again). But it would be great if there was functionality to add and edit vehicles for smartrider parking.

Adrian Simo

Finally! Great app, using Google maps is so much better than the Java applet on the website. One thing you could do is if you swipe your finger to the left it brings up the side menu. Keep it up!

Wei-An Chong

Pretty Good I reckon this is a very decent app, very useful, which helps, considering how bad transperth's bus punctuality is..

Mooing Monkey Moose

Time table up date? unlikey The app is good but..... when trains or buses are canceled it won't tell you, if trains are replaced with buses it won't tell you so your journey that says 40mins and you get to you destination 1hr20mins later i would say this needs some serious work. And any support on how to get the most out of the app??? Nope none. Enjoy.

Kym Andrews

Great but.. I love this app. Very handy and useful. But can you please please please account for service disruptions somehow. A news feed or if track closed then say that. Friday track was clsed but app gave train times. Otherwise its great

Daniel Tripp

Utter GARBAGE Why don't you people fire your obviously IN HOUSE developers and outsource to some professionals using 21st Century Web APIs.. First use of the app (it doesn't look any different from the 1990s looking transperth journey planner) and it says "Unable to proceed" - A valid journey is required.

Michael Ott

Mostly good. Mostly clean UI. The journey results have comically huge icons, needlessly inconsistent typography and the general layout is a mess. The 'My Account' section seems pointless, I have to enter my smartrider number every time. Would be ideal if it was remembered. Overall it's useful, but it still needs some work. Good to finally see an official app.

Ben Staples

Not intuitive or user friendly Transperth app isn't as smart or user friendly as other apps. Tripmate is way more useful for next service info in Perth and when compared to other apps like Tripview (Sydney), it's a complete failure for being useful.

Curtis Mckinley

Simplistic but needs more improvement App needs to be simplified. Faster startup and loading is required. Also show zone map in real time and interactive format. Show network maps and disruptions. Also expand the app to allow journeys to be customised using one or more vehicle types eg 2 buses or one train. Show service, disruptions, changes and notices. Show timetables for buses, trains, ferries or a combination of them all. Also send out updates to users in real time for timetables etc. Not all routes and stations have their trip variations and patterns shown. Show stoping patterns, short journeys and deviations for buses and trains. Also distinguish timed stops from intermediate stops. Show up to 5 journey plan outputs with quickest, longest, least stops or least transfer options. Provide a link to view, enquire or download timetables. Make these interactive. Put an onscreen or embeded help system in the software. Allow reverse trip options and offline use of the app. Or offline viewing of journeys and timetables. Provide maps to facilities and locations of parking at train and bus stations or interchanges. Clearly label departure stands and origins of trips. Show the delay and if possible what type of delay.

Joel Reid

Finally! Been waiting a while for transperth app. While google maps is fine for planning a transperth journey although having an official app to do it works well too. Knowing your balance and getting timetables is important. Hopefully they do well when finished teating the beta. I would like the ability for my phone NFC to emulate the smartrider.

Jason Hawkins

Useful & informative. Excellent App Usefull & informative app, well laid out, nice clean design. Makes it so much easier for me to use public transport, specifically buses, as most bus stops don't have a timetable on display. Does need a bit of improvement to get 5 stars. It would be good to be able to save your SmartRider details rather than type in the card number every time. The other function that would be good would be live tracking of buses, but I understand that's in trial stages and will be a while before it is rolled out everywhere.

Carsten Bauer

Wow, I am impressed This is actually a very well designed app for a change. It's neat and simple to operate. I really find it useful that you can easily plan your journey, and can easily find what time and buses go past a stop. VERY handy. Smartrider balance is also useful, but having to enter the number each time is a pain. The number on mine is scatched off, because it's so old, so had to go to the transperth website to look it up. Well done Transperth, and please take on suggestions in other reviews and you will get closer to 5 stars! :) Edit - One problem i did find with the app, when using the journey planner, I want to get from Maylands Train Station to Mirrabooka Bus station, is the spelling of each location. The Train is Stn, and Mirrabooka Bus Station doesn't even appear. Same goes when searching for Warwick, it doesn't show the train station after typing "Warwick", adding "Train" after "Warwick" doesn't bring up the station either. This is enough for me to knock off 2 stars at least.

Daniel Harvey

Please make use of NFC enabled devices One of the main things I I've been waiting for is the ability to check my smartrider balance by scanning it with my phone via NFC, since if you are somewhere like wellard or similar, there is no signal. Also: being able to link your smartrider to your phone and use NFC to tag on the service with your phone would be brilliant and extremely useful as i am always leaving my smartrider somewhere. Maybe have a timeout so you have to re link your smart rider every 5 days or so to stop illegitimate use, thanks

James Gallop

Doing well so far Add stuff like when typing in the addresses if it's not 100% perfect, google maps should sort this out, aside from that, good useful clean app.

Paul Branson

Really well done, finally a good Perth transport app Could increase the resolution of the icon... Other than that great app, love the way it will watch favourite journey on a schedule. Very clever, although it took me along time to find hour to add favourite journeys

John Summerfield

Feedback Feedback should be integrated into the app, and context sensitive so one can easily report a problem with a particular part of the app. Anonymous feedback at the website doesn't work, a dash is not accepted for an email address. The feedback form at the website is clumsy to use from my phone.

Nathan Jones

Definitely has promise Works pretty well, just needs refinement. Will probably raise rating as it gets polished. In particular the back stack is a bit messed up. Sometimes closes the app when it should just go back where I came from. Smartrider number really needs to be saved. I don't want to have to type it in every time when the phone can remember. Needs to be good given Perth is the poster child of Google Transit in Australia

Eric Lee

Slight improvement over website Going to map, finding bus stop, then selecting timetable is good. Trying to set up regular journeys is fraught with ambiguities which never resolve.

Laura Bishop

Frustrating Crashes pretty much every time I use it. 'Real time' info is not up to date. Doesn't update when services are cancelled, which seems compatriot hopeless for a transperth specific app. Have gone back to google maps instead.

jesse hands

Much promise This app is great. Needs some more work and tweaks to a few things but all round very handy and useful for the average public transport user. Being able to select the stop and get a map view would help... especially if we don't know where it is. And maybe add the odds of bus timetables or ability to search a bus by its route number. And the issue with the smart rider not work. Good stuff still though.

Jesse Hogan

Awesome! Great, Fresh User Interface. Good alternative to the Web Version. Random Freezes and Crashes, but the services outweigh these problems.

Richie Vermeulen

Pls support linking my smartrider Most Android phones have nfc, would be great if we could link the nfc to the smartrider Act to tag on n off.

Khalid Saleh

About time There's should be a way your smart rider details stored on your device so you don't keep reentering it over and over again.

Tim Cowell

Potential Journey times arent accurate yet.. Train arrived 10min earlier than app suggested.

Darren Huang

Meh Can't view timetable offline. What's the point of downloading a 3+MB app if it can't store timetable data? Tripmate does this and it's <1MB. The interface is alright, functionality is passable.

Zane Kearney

Pretty decent Pretty decent app. Nicely designed ui mostly but a few little inconsistencies with low res icons and 2.3 era design ideas here and there bring it down a little.

Hardik Patel

Doesn't work! Enter my smart rider number for my account, it says not found! I have smart rider online account as well which is not available in app!

Jesse Collins

It's Ok But could be better This app is ok but in the fare amount it says !Year. PLEASE FIX!

meeth vasram

Needs an update Some routes and timee have changed and this app hasnt taken it in to account. An update to the latest routes and times would be great

Neil Altheer

Good, but Have just installed and first fault is that it doesn't find the nearest bus stop at my location. It said the nearest way 642 m away while the closest on another street is only about 150 m away. Otherwise working well.

Pardis Haidary

Does the job Could have a much better user interface, but good enough for a Beta release

Rhys James

Needs some improvement Can't see how to save a journey, you plan one and can then look at the route in general but it doesn't let you save it (even though it appears in history and frequent). I'd like to have a widget that tells me the arrival time for a specific route number bus at a specific stop, considering most users would probably make the exact same commute each day and the only relevant info is 'how long til the next bus?' Can't save smart rider account info. No top up option.

Tyson Battersby

NFC SmartRider emulation! This is a fairly standard app, nothing really sticks out as incredibly essential or useful, but please, developers, here this: LET US USE OUR PHONE'S NFC ABILITY AS OUR SMARTRIDER! Honestly, it should've been done by now...

Matty P

Mediocre Useful but have to enter Smartrider number every time. Would be good to have full account information linked with online service. Bad thing is app automatically loads on startup and runs in background even after force closing. I don't want apps running if I'm not using them.

Phillip Stewart

Nice. Very handy. Checking timetables has nver been so easy. I Would like to see card balance and the ability to use phone to tag on services with nfc.

Maciek Plewa

TransPERTH in Jakarta? Average app. Would like the ability to remember my location and not always start with the map of South East Asia, Australia and Oceania. At least zoom in on Australia if its not possible to zoom in to Perth by default. Is Transperth a multinational corp?

Jeannie L

Not bad It's actually much better than I expected considering it's free. I would give it a full five stars if they could incorporate live tracking of all buses so I can see when buses are running early or late.

Nick Williams

Nicely designed and great for quick use Modern cards-style UI with snappy performance from swipe-based navigation in menus. Overall, it's a pleasure to use. I think the icons could use a bit of refining; and maybe a way to view bus routes on the map.

Tomako P-I Chung

Room for improvement Everytime i want to chk my balance i hv to key in the SR no. again. Should make it able to login and see balances and usage just like logging in on computer.

Melissa Foster

Transperth (beta ) Doesn't update time changes with the bus timetable. Good to get a general idea of times and travel routes

Tegan Ambrosa

Add this feature - fees Could you please show me how much my smartrider is getting charged? It's good to know how much is loaded, but I want to see per trip how much I am charged.

Kartik Atre

Poor experience on Android Sigh! Another govt department / developer ignoring the largest cohort of mobile users. The app is pathetic and useless compared to the iOS version. No ability to check your smartrider account easily, let alone recharge. The IT department at Transperth should be ashamed.

Andrew Galloway

When do I arrive at my destination? Please provide a simple timetable of the stops on my journey and my arrival time. Surely I do not need to go back to a paper timetable!

Trevor Kenney

Must update When providing a service as essential as public transport you MUST keep an app like this updated. My service was shown to come at 12:21 when in fact its schedule is 12:40. Please update if your serious about people using this app. And if there are changes to timetables please update this app when these changes occur.

Alex J

Great little helper This has been great for me. New to the city and shows me from A to B. Bus numbers, train lines and times. Could do with a smartrider charge chart but other then that I have found it great.

Matty P

Not user friendly Useful but have to enter Smartrider number every time. Would be good to have full account information linked with online service. Would also be nice to save stops to view timetable regardless of journey. Bad thing is app automatically loads on startup and runs in background even after force closing. I don't want apps running if I'm not using them.

Andrew Taylor

Times are 3 minutes early I use it to simply get the train from Subi to Perth. Just use the times displayed on your boards and not 3 minutes early all the time. 4 stars thou

Jordan Von Buse

Still beta... Is this app still being developed? It's been in beta for like 3 years now

Cliff White

Could be So Good 1. Top up smartrider? 2. Alert for transport times? 3. Scannable for your smartrider to get rid of the card? Get in touch with me as I have a heap more suggestions.

Peter Birkett

Terrible Ok as a journey planner. It has s terrible if you just want to know when the next service is or if you need to know when a service will get to a particular station or stop.

Chris .T's Nut

Utter rubbish now After downloading the new update almost 2 weeks ago the journey planner completely stopped working and when you try to find stops nearby it comes up with an error of "your app is no longer authorised to perform requests". Just use the website it's less of a waste of phone memory

Tiara Haynes-Kelly

Update ruined it. Everytime I try to use it is comes up with 'please try again later:

Danh Cong Do

Excellent app Very use and use it everyday

dylan mackenzie

The quality of your logo is so poor I am embarrassed to have it on my home screen. Pixelated and transparent ????

Erin Metcalf

Useless. Why are there no maps or directions? Why does it always choose the most complicated route? The algorithm is bizarre, usually chooses journeys that are awkward. Lots of walking & changes even when I know there are far simpler options to get to destination. Can reset walking kms but no option for "fewest changes" or "quickest journey" which are more important. NO MAP, route or directions..WTF? How are people unfamiliar with Perth meant to navigate between changes and stops? App lists destinations and stops that aren't searchable on Google, walk 1.9km to get there with no directions.

Amy Corvus

If you have a working version of this app do not dl the update! App is completely bricked after update. Absolutely nothing works at all, its all "service is unavailable" and "you are not authorised". Been like this for weeks, with no bugfix in sight. Great app is now utterly useless.

Tsao Mckayla

Time difference!! Its good, but recently I found the actual timetable at station is a little bit different from the app! And I missed my train for work! Please update all the timetable subject to your actual one from each station. It's quite annoying when you arrived station and found the train is already gone which shouldn't have happened.

Melissa Manley

519 timetable incorrect When doing journey planner all 519 buses show to get off south Street after Caley Dr and walk 429m to murdoch station. All 519 go to murdoch station.

Julian Lush

Make sure you download the Transperth Assist android app Great app by Transperth but if you want all the latest real tine bus departures from perth busport download the Transperth Assist android app now available through the play store.

Kase Sweet

A train B train App doesn't tell you if the next train will stop. Standing there wating for a train that races on past then your late. Crap as

luke kitson

Useless!!! Times for the buses keep refreshing and thanks to your useless app I've missed the buses numerous times! Get your act together transperth!!

Marion Curtain

Useless Downloaded, typed in FROM & TO, "Unavailable at this time, please try again later".

jonathan Mill

Could be good but is not Far from being accurate. Don t give the best journey far from it. Listen to the app and spend double times in transport.

Darren Bowen

I use it all the time, excellent!!

Lesley Duncan

Brilliant app Finally I can stop cursing transperth for lack of having now app or mobile website. Really impressed with this app, so simple to use and well layed out. Thanks transperth. My feature requests would be: - Button to add alarm when to leave house. - Show where bus is along the route using GPS on map. - buy a ticket from the app using PayPal or play store account and then display a QR code on the app which can be scanned when I get on the bus.

Ristch Camille

How does the Real-Time work? I catch the 410 bus service everyday and there are often times when the bus does not show up. So I use the Transperth app to find out where the bus is and its arrival time. However, it does not provide a notification or message regarding the location of the service. This goes the same for train services that are running late along the Joondalup line. The app tells me that service is scheduled to arrive but app does not provide a reason as to why the train is late. An exact time of arrival would be good.

Luke J

More needed Good app, needs further than 4000m metres willing to travel as some people cycle! I'm willing to go upto 20km! Also notifications for any delays to a favorite journey. Smartrider features? Balance, top up, recent transactions, notifications for low balance. Keep up the good work devs. Cheers

Steven Domagala

Great app Used app during a recent visit to perth. Very accurate with times and was very helpful with the bus/train network. Had to use the inbuilt map so i knew when to get off. Add a feature to alert next stop is where u need to get off and app will be excellent

Doesn't work at all Just keeps saying unable to complete initial setup and that there's no network connection, when there definitely is. Have tried both mobile data and wifi. It used to work, not sure what's happened.

Rebecca Mason

Bus routes It would be useful if you were able to search bus routes. Also, the address search doesn't work very well eg I typed in Hampton road, south Fremantle and the only match it returned was 'Western Australia'

Fredrick G

Good but needs updating Love it except it need to be updated with current stop changes. Ive had to use the Internet version over the app for a little while because it isnt up to date. Other than that, perfect app when current :).

Matthew Simpson

A lot of work needs to be done Would give 5 stars if we could use our phone's nfc capabilities to emulate our smart rider. so until sticking to google transit.

Weirduncle Bob V

Still in Beta so problems are forgiven! Google Maps is far superior. That says it all, really. You'll have to put a lot of work into making this work. Might try again in a few months. Can't offer advice as not a critic, too many problems, don't know what half of the problems were! Edit: Still not worth it for me nearly a year later. /sigh.

Jay Kay

App is almost pointless No native integration with TransPerth alerts. To see disruptions, it redirects to the website. Doesn't allow loading route timetables or maps. Other apps are a much better choice than this.

Sam Cross

Total rubbish No longer works! Can't search by bus number. Doesn't tell me if the bus will actually arrive.. utterly useless!
