Used to be amazing Have used this app without issue on my last few boarding holidays. On my current trip though it consistently does not find GPS signal and does not appear to retry. So, if like me you used to just hit play indoors and shove it in your pocket before heading out you will find that most of the time your data is not recorded.

Kelvin Yeung

Buggy and hard to work around it's interface. Really dig the concept of the app. However the functionality is a different story. Certain recorded statistics seem inaccurate. Still a fun app and doesn't use a ridiculous amount of data.

Matthew Cantrell

Used to be great. Not sure if it is changes to android or the app but GPS signal is always low. Runs, speed, and time are no longer accurate. Jumps used to work great but now, not so much. Went off a jump bigger than my house and data for the run shows 0 jumps, 0 airtime. Guess I'll try one of the competitor's products.

Michael Bond

Crashes...mid-day. Crashed after 6 runs today. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't in my pocket...but since I'm not good enough to ski and watch my phone all day I didn't notice until the day was over. And this was the first day after I subscribed to get the extra data. I'll give it a few more days, but if that continues I suspect my subscription will get cancelled. UPDATE2: Crashed again. I'd say I lose about 1 in 3 days now. Uninstalling. UPDATE: Subscription cancelled. Most certainly not worth $5/month. Not much additional data and a lot of it is not accurate. I mostly wanted to use it to see what the slope angles I was skiing were. All it gives you is you max angle, and it's not accurate. I measured the angle of one slope and my max angle was still 10* below that. I was hoping to be able to see the angle at specific points, but that isn't an option. Maybe with updates the subscription will be worth it, but for now I'll be sticking with the free version. As far as the crashing goes, that only happened once out of 7 days, so maybe that one day was a fluke. This app is worth free...not worth paying for.

Cory Bowen

not longer reliable The app was formerly AplineReplay - that app was great. For whatever reason, it's changed now and very buggy. I've lost a lot of data. Its supposed to paste together multiple sessions during a day to create one report for the day - that doesn't work. The most recent session will just overwrite the previous session. Stats aren't viewable through the app, you need to go the website - this is very frustrating. This app is a great idea with potential, but horrible execution. If i'm losing data and can't view data in progress, what's the point?

Robert Kruisheer

Can't open - UPDATE 31.01 - Trying to open the app on Xperia z1 phone but it keeps crashing. How can I track my ski runs if the app won't work? UPDATE- app was updated to fix the crashing, but mine still doesn't open...UPDATE 10.02 - Another app update and still can't open the app

Michael Slaiciunas

How could this app work with no problems until you people changed to trace. This app is useless now. It will not even record any of my runs now?? Wtf??? Anyone who reads this should just use ski tracks instead of this garbage.

Steve Oster

Bloat!! Random Jpegs on my phone I have used this app for a couple of years but I'm now using a Moto G with very limited storage - and one of the things "limiting" my storage is many mb's of jpegs (session sheets in jpeg format) from random users I don't know. Deleting them manually must be done in a file manager program, so that I don't remove MY images. So 2 stars until this is resolved.

Owen Brewer

Can you put more work into Android? Why is this app amazing on iOS but terrible on Android? It looks amazing on my friend's iPhone, and it runs amazing too. You guys roll out update after update after update to fix the jump detection bug, but it still isn't fixed! My friend's iPhone will get jump detection, not mine! I'm really disappointed that this app could look so great on iPhone, but be so bad on Android.

A Google User

What a joke Tracks 10% of runs accurately, and that's being generous. Been using this app for 4 years now and it's done nothing but get worse every year. Paid $149 for the Trace GPS puck and that thing screws up almost as much as the app

Jim Mowatt

ski fast Sucks. Every time I use this app it turns off. I skied 5 beautiful days in Utah and never logged a full day. 2 days I got nothing.

Doesn't always record The app is gray when it works. But on a 5day trip it failed to record 2 of the days. While on the slopes it showed it was recording but when I went to upload the stats it failed and could not be recovered.

Christina Kam

Needs improvement Not sure what happened to this app, I liked it on my iPhone but on my new android, it doesn't work the same. The links I post on Facebook don't even work when people click on them. Can you guys fix that??

Dumbo Snake

OK It has been great but when I uploaded my runs yesterday, only half of my runs were sent and I had no data to recover. Otherwise, I would give it 5 stars

Lee Davis

New Update Works Like a Charm Tried this app a second time after a poor initial go with it. All I had to do was hit the run button in the morning, the app does the rest. I like being able to see my current top speed of the day, trace does this. Give it a try and check the website to see your slope stats.

Mike Filas

Wish I could use it The app keeps getting rid of my runs when I try to upload them. I contacted support nearly a month ago and they've never gotten back to me. Luckily I use Ski tracks at the same time or runs would be gone.

Anne Davies

Great app I've used this app in Australia, New Zealand and various resorts in Japan with out using my data only gps and then upload via hotel wi fi. Great to see all the runs you do and the names too Happy to pay the additional fee for the additional features. Adds another dimension to my ski trip. Great app!!

mark a

What happened to this app ? Have to agree with many others, app is NOT what it was ( no where close). Recorded 2 runs during 2 hours of skiing last time, disappointed all season. Really was a great app before....

Zachary Davis

Working well now with update. Fun app and tracks your runs. Would like to see activity without having to pause and upload.

Paula Summit

Used to be great... This app used to be great when it was Alpine Replay. Now all it does is crash and lose my data. Samsung S4. Boo.

Vassil Dimov

I want my logs back!!! I've lost all my logs! Now it's crashing, losing my logs after restarted, not reliable anymore...

Rob Steinle

Works on MotoX, No app exit!? App works good. Runs tie in with map good. Seems to drop end of day, though might be battery level, cause it's ALWAYS ON. Probably have to uninstall to keep it from running. Hard to get to stats, have to go in through profile? Weird. Seems if it can detect that you have moved only a few feet in a few minutes (breaks, lunch), it could pause or under sample. Dunno. Don't write apps...

Larry Flick

Trace Snow New app does not work well with android phone. My friend and I ski side by side with same ability, he has an iPhone and I an android. Results are so far apart so you wonder what is correct?

bernardo rivas

Doesn't really work. Logs non-existing jumps and misses the real ones consistently. Logs wrong speed and distance data consistently. I've verified by using another app on my phone and comparing it to the data on a friend's iphone. Frequently loses data. I'll do 15 to 16 runs on a day, they show up as recorded and then they are lost upon uploading them. Can't see the leaderboards for the day. Can't change the picture for the day's run and will pic unrelated pictures without asking for permission. If half of the features worked, this app would be decent. As it is now, it's useless, don't buy.

Max Middleton

Crap Crashed my s5 twice, first holidat of the year and this app has gone crap. Used alpine replay for years and never had an issue!

Scott Perley

Was awesome but now won't stay running Used to love this app but now I'm getting "trace has stopped running" constantly

Shehab Barakat

Great app, better community This app is a very impressive app to aid skiers and riders. I always have this on when I'm out on the slopes.... Then they updated it and I can't turn off notifications for the life of me, sent developer multiple emails, no response or solutions....was a great app, still is...

David Robinson

Trace Snow Does not work.

Chris Wren

Bad results on N6 Enjoyed using it on my pervious phone. On the N6, it reported my max speed skiing as 0.4mph. I suspect it is not 64-bit clean.

Parker Wrozek

Used to work...? It used to be great and now it doesn't work at all with the last update. All the old data doesn't show up anymore. It just sucks because it was so good. Hopefully another update will fix it...

I just buyed a year of premium. It tells me i'm premium. Then I press charts and tells me i must be a premium user. I've got the same mail.

Tasha Witham

Used to be awesome as alpine replay Since the last few updates under the new trace moniker, this app no longer works for me. I had for several seasons no problem, now it crashes all the time and is super buggy. The app will say its running and then I open the app and its not recording even though I started before heading out on the hill. So bummed and hoping for an update soon to fix.

Will Evans

Inconsistent Seems to drop half a session if you move between linked resorts. Misses runs. Not as good as the old alpine replay.

Katsiaryna Maisiyenia

It works, not enough features If it was my first ski/snowboard tracking app I would say it is good. I used skitracker on old windows phone and it offered a lot more features. It was also free. I'll say that it is too primitive for me.

Steve C

Keeps Crashing Went to Okemo on Feb 21 2015 and every time I opened the app once it was running, it would force close, losing all my data for the day. I've noticed more crashes since you guys became Trace...not a good start...

Scott Carpenter

Terrible program Unintuitive and buggy. Don't waste your time installing it.

Kristaps Zēbergs

Needs improvement on Android Works better and has more features on iPhone

Richard Ward

Seems good! Appears to do what it should, but would be great if it supported Wear, as a remote and for key stats.

Joel M

Not bad The app tells me I can see my stats under the stats tab hat doesn't seem to exist, also WHERE IS THE EXIT BUTTON. there is no easy way to close this app

Ryan Spencer

Was a great app but now its a mess First it crashed upon opening so I could never use it. Uninstalling it and reinstalling it fixed that problem. Now though it fails to connect to Facebook when I hit Sign In With Facebook. Please fix! This was my favorite app!!!!!!!

Владислав Никишин

Bug! Why Elbrus'es slopes named as Cheget?!

Anton Obednin

Good app Can't see distance and other stats in session sheet. Please return. Apple phone has all stats in session sheet!

Ирина Рамазова

Lost data After device reboot all data has been lost.sometimes devices reboot unexpected could you save intermediate data before ondestroy?

Владимир Регент

Клевая прога! !! Need a Russian language in!

Paul Annekov

Very buggy Left menu is empty on screens other than main, leaderboard is always empty...

Artem Lomakin

Non-intuitive usability And how to switch metric units on Android? Preview pictures shown with metric stats, but inside - feets and mph, and no units settings in profile...

Vasiliy A

This version sucks. Last season it was easier to use. Althought performance and battery consumption improved, user interface really inconvenient. In additiom gives wrong or inconsistent stats.

Кирилл Першин

Dooesn't work on Nexus 5 Acquiring and restarting gps all the time

Borys Z

Warning You will lost all you data! if you trying to send stats that recorded in unknown resort. Resort can't be added

Karen B

Favorite ski tracking app I've tried several of the ski tracking apps, and this one is my favorite. I like to see where I skied, distance, and vertical more than speed and air time. Then I can look at the trail map and see places I have not explored yet. There are some summary features on the web side that I'd like to see on the app side and vice versa. I would prefer that both have a count of the number of days skied per season. Support has been incredibly responsive and receptive to new ideas. As with all phone GPS apps, I do question the validity of the speed measurements, but that is a function of the phone and not the app. I have noticed it going into pause since my phone upgraded to the latest version of Android, but maybe I didn't make sure my phone was locked.

A Google User

What a joke! Tracks 10% of runs accurately, and that's being generous. Been using this app for 4 years now and it's done nothing but get worse every year. Paid $149 for the Trace GPS puck and that thing screws up almost as much as the app

Doug Lyons

Great app Great app, really like the ability to go track by track for all your stats. Would like to see better share options.

Ilias Patsiaouras

Great app I would love to see it posting this stats in my google fit

Martin Giger

Very good tracking of stats and lifts (even if some lifts here in Switzerland are still missing). However if your phone runs out of juice while tracking the data is lost. Not cool. I'd also love some google fit and android wear integration.

Acual Alpine Reply was better Application runs fine. Logs ok. All except for my airtime...which they want 200$ for the thing to link up. Doesn't seem worth it when it worked fine last year. I recommend only because there is no other applications like it

Kyle B

Used to be the best I used to tell all of my friends to get this app because it was the best and free. Well now that they've taken away features that used to be free and require you to buy their absurdly overpriced device, I'm quite displeased. Actively looking for an app that did what this app used to.

Graham Richmond

Disappointing I find it mildly amusing that it works on my old, half dead phone, but that I can't log in on my new phone or tablet without resetting the password, which then means that it works on none of my devices! Also, a slow but steady loss of functionality even as it gets more pretty.

Travis Sartain

A dream come true I wish this had been around when I was a kid and people thought I was telling fish tales when I talked about my epic day. There's no better way to improve and compete with your friends.

A Google User

Competition & Progression Are Dead Only the elite with money can compare and compete now. No longer able to check progression. I used to tell EVERYONE about this ap.

Greg Dorozynski

Improvements with latest revision It looks like a down grade. Last year I was able to track my air time, slopes angle, but now you took this away in order to boost sales of your's tracking device. I would not mind to buy 1, but price is way to high just for a tracking some stats, a specially that my phone can do this as well. It is time to switch to some other app.

Bruce Bockius

Was good Now requires a 200 dollar gadget to do what a phone can do for free.

Ryan Jordan Orate

When it's functional, it's a great app. Now, it doesn't track my run speed or trail lines, rendering it pretty useless now.

Brian Geppert

Great summary of your day Does an amazing job of building a map with all your runs and it even identifies what lift you took! Keeps stats on vert, distance, and speed.

Brian Marzan

Every update bring less functionality for the free version. It is meant to extort users into buying the pay version. Will no longer recommend to anyone. Will be looking for a new ski tracker.

Charles McGahon

Not great Barely works on moto g 1st gen 4g

Levan Arabuli

Lost all history...

Sherry Morley

Cher Great app fun to track your progress.

Michael Gresens

App no longer works like it used to I never had issue with this app before, it used to be awesome and work flawlessly. I used to recommend it to all my friends, but for some reason, it hasn't tracked my stats for any of my last sessions. I'm highly disappointed with this app and I would gladly pay money for an app that worked like this one used to, but spending $200 on something I have to lug around and hope not to lose its out of the question. I refuse to pay that much for something that used to be free and used to work well.

Claire Maclean

Used to be great But now you have to buy an over priced tracking tag to get info that used to be free. Really unfair on those that can't justify that kind of spend because they only ski one or two weeks a year.

Kip Herbert-Taylor

Free features taken away A whole bunch of state that used to be included in the app now require their overpriced Bluetooth dongle. Air time, lift time etc no longer recorded. I'm going to find an older version of the app that still allows it. Also it's really unreliable and crashes all the time, losing your progress

Xander Ancock

Lost runs galore It was really disappointing after the new look and the results look good when you can log them are OK. There is no live display of your stats, only speed, whereas Skitracks gives you a much better read out. It crashed 4 times in 4 days. I lost the majority of 2 whole days tracking and it closes far too easily. This needs some serious work on the usability. If you are happy not to touch our phone the whole day it might be OK but if you intend to take photos, text or generally use your phone it's not great.

Rūta Savickaitė

Frustrated I keep getting 'Waiting for a GPS fix' and my whole skiing session record then dissappears. That's so frustrating! This happened three days in a row: in the morning the app works just fine, I save and send the session during lunch when I have Internet access, but after that second part of the day session gets lost. That annoying 'waiting for a GPS fix'.. Please fix this stupid bug.

Lisa Timerick

Unreliable I used to love this app but lately it sucks. Yesterday it tracked me at the top of the mountain and the bottom so it appears I teleported through the huge middle section or something. It missed 11km out of a 15km run. Today I tracked it again thinking I could have knocked it and paused it somehow but it did the same again. Weirdly it missed a gondola yesterday but the chair lift today. I'm going to look elsewhere for a better app.

Maarten de Jager

$200 dollar for unlocking features? First there were great features: rest time... Lift time.. Air time.. All that is now gone. Only available of you pay. I don't mind paying for this great app. But $200 for a device that after purchase will unlock these features? That is absurd!!!

James Merrill

This app has poor UX. I always mistakenly start tracking (because the news feed is hidden) and cannot delete/discard recordings. They're moving more and more of it behind a paywall which is extremely lame, and has forced me to look for alternatives.

Katie Barker

Lots of things missing or wrong You can't see any stats without an Internet connection. The app needs some simple graphs, things like speed and elevation. I would prefer to be able to compare over days not months as this is irrelevant for a weeks holiday. The pictures are distorted if you attach one to your activity. Recommend buying Ski Tracks as it is much better.

Alec Hardie

Used to use it but swapped when they stopped my airtime tracking and wanted $200 to use. Way too many other good trackers available. Uninstalled.

Tyson Ferney

Loved it last year... But Update, app is getting better. I'm able to find friends now without a crash. I compared the Apple vs Android versions and you can actually see the sessionsheet on the iPhone, but on the Android it's tiny! You click on it and it takes you to details, but I want to see the session sheet. Am I missing something?

A Google User

Finally getting better Latest update is more stable, but still a little glitchy. Some lifetime stats are wrong. The GPS puck is a piece of crap, battery lasts less than 4 hours

Adam Imbriglio

I have been supporting this app for a few years now and it has been doing a pretty good job of tracking my day. I really like the social aspect of it. Tends to be a bit buggy at times but the company is usually pretty good about identifying those bugs and fixing them pretty quickly.

Rafael Torres

Cut features Use to be a good app. Now they removed features and started to charge $200 for an external device

Gabe Irving

Excellent novice skier Been using it for 3 seasons and love it. Can review how well I'm improving as well as my kids, and the online website is phenomenal. Fun to compare with friends' trace activity.

Eric St. John

Doesn't work well Still some bugs. If you "pause" a session it loses your data after you resume. I have lost half my data this season because of this and there is not really any customer service.

Brett Johnson

Improvements in usability, eroding free features While the core functionality has gotten less buggy I swear previously you could get air time in the free version previously.

Jeff Mikolajow

Latest version crashes Crashed twice today - once I could restore the data but the other was not recoverable.

Jean-Maxime Legare

Not good anymore Used to be great with all free features such as lift time, air time, etc... Now thwy make you buy a 200$ device to get those features back. Not a chance! Switching to Ski Tracks app.

Donovan Ramsay

Lost data I love this app, been using it for the last 4 seasons, I've even bought the device for $200 but I've been having a lot of issues with lost data this 2015/2016 season. I hope they will get all the bugs out before the season ends or I might have to find a different app for next season.

Roberto Repac

Disappointed Do not install new updates cause you gonna lose all great features that you have on this app. Now they want to force ppl to buy their tracking device rof 200$$. Its really hard to believe what they did.

Ryan Cancelliere

Used to be a great app back when it was Alpine Replay. However now it is garbage, move on to the next ski app in line. They cut the features, it loses your records and their customer support is horrible. Pass

Christopher Wesley

2016 update destroyed this app Thanks for taking away the most basic features such as lift time and rest time. Oh, you will put them back if I buy a $200 GPS device that's not my cell phone? What a joke.

Ryan Halpin

Dumb Waste of memory. Would be nice if you could make it easier to navigate...

Tommy Greenawalt

Trace Used to be a great app when it was alpine replay now they want you to buy a sensor to get all your stats just not worth it when you only use it for three or four months during ski season drop the price of the sensor then maybe

A Google User

Best mountain app there is. Keeps track of your day. It's quite amazing.

Ant Butler

I try to add friends and it doesn't work. ... needs to be fixed

Matthew Martens

Awesome to keep track of my ski stats but there app is missing basic functionality like having the app add up your stats per trip/mountain/ x days etc.

Everett Bedenbaugh

Interesting app Works great, isn't a battery hog, & is fun to use

Dom Tinney

Good way to track speed and distance. Calorie counter doesn't seem to work but no big deal. GPS seems pretty spot on too compared to Run keeper which I used at the same time and had wild results with

Eric D'Angelo

Doesn't work Wont sync with traceup. Stuck at 0%. Tried to contact support, but no response

Marjolein van Schayk

Don't trust it Both me and my husband have been using this aop. He is always going much faster than me according to the app, but I have doubted this for a while. Today he had both my phone and his own phone on his pocket on a run and his app stated that he was going 25km/hr faster than mine while he was carrying both! Don't trust it.

Jack M

Cant log in Won't let me log in with facebook

Bevan Rudge

Unreliable gimmick No real time data and sync is very unreliable

Justinas Janušas

Looking for another app At the start this app was the best, but now no airtime and other features without paying. Wouldn't recommend to my friends anymore.

Graham Richmond

Disappointing I find it mildly amusing that it works on my old, half dead phone, but that I can't log in on my new phone or tablet without resetting the password, which then means that it works on none of my devices! Also, a slow but steady loss of functionality even as it gets more pretty.

You send them email 3 times about the problem and nobody reply. Bad app and the worst customer service. I had skiing for 5 hours and it recorded only 9 pistes. Try Ski tracks which is better and has Android wear Support

Michael Holden

Loved it when it worked I used to love Trace when it would actually trace my stats but now it says I'm going 1.7 miles per hour I must have seriously regressed this season. M8

Charlie Knight

Very good Best free tracker out there by far

Mark Eugster

Reduced features but still ok It still worked okay this year. So some stats were removed as the trace is probably more accurate. Not a big deal to not have to worry about line and lift time. You can see when you started and ended to figure it out your day. But did lose some runs again at end of day. Think next season will also try SNOCRU

Donovan Ramsay

Lost data Been using it for the last 4 seasons, I've even bought the device for $200 but I've been having a lot of issues with lost data this 2015/2016 season. They have the worst customer service and I wouldn't recommend this product. Instead of help me after all the issues I had with the device they gave me a partial refund even though the device never worked correctly from the start. Don't trust them, they say one thing and do another.

Ian M

Just doesn't work An app either works or it doesn't. And unfortunately this one doesn't. Turned it on today and it stopped recording by itself. Then I turned it on again. Went to review my day and there was no record. I'm glad I didn't give these people any money.

Dmitrij Paškevič

Almost there Guys, please add session pause/resume functionality to the notification. It's a must-have feature.

Jim Schutz

Used to work great. Not now This app used to work really nicely. Now it only tracks walking to the lift. No data from skiing. None. Zero. Nada.

Timothy Strong

Fail 2 runs recorded... I thought. Two runs with no info. Great job

Kyle Russ

Riding high, now junk Alpine replay used to have an unbelievably great product. It worked great, was accurate as could be expected out of a phone, had a paid option for extra medals, and great customer service. Now the app sucks, lost the paid option in favor of an extremely overpriced ($200) sensor, lost certain stats, and customer service sucks. This company had great ideas, a great app, and a perfect opportunity to dominate the ski track market. Now Intel will crush them with the Curie.

Adam Imbriglio

Best ski tracker for inbounds I have been supporting this app for a few years now and it has been doing a pretty good job of tracking my day inbounds at the resort. I really like the social aspect of it however I think it could be tied to Facebook better. Can be a little difficult to find friends. Tends to be a bit buggy at times but the company is usually pretty good about identifying those bugs and fixing them pretty quickly.

Yatharth Gupta

Awesome, but My app does not look anything like the screenshots yet ? I have more of a blue white theme and stats are only shown after upload

omer yazici

Bugs in Android Please fix the following/followers issue as they're not listed in the list or activity feed. Thanks ;)

Ryan Keighley

Must have for keeping track of your rides on the mountain. Can we get some Android wear support? I'd love to be able to launch this from my watch instead of digging out my phone every time.

Craig Vanderland

Best ski app! Only improvement would be to upload to my fitness pal.

Brian Allen

Amazing This app literally does everything I could think of and more. Excellent

Jiří Laštovka

Gr8 app for snowboard Export included on site

Jeff Mikolajow

Works good! Works well. Would be nice to be able to see stats mid-day without having to stop/resume recording because I often forget to restart after my lunch (beers) break.

Gasket Jeff

Time to trace the mountain bike trails I like trace it's like strava for snowboarding. I would like even more if trace was available for mt biking trails

folod yuhgli

Was once awesome but not lately. It seems that the developers have died? why not use Google terrain maps or at least let us choose whether to use satellite or terrain.. Terrain shows lifts and piste maps. I will report on the latest update today..

Graham Richmond

Disappointing I find it mildly amusing that it works on my old, half dead phone, but that I can't log in on my new phone or tablet without resetting the password, which then means that it works on none of my devices! Also, a slow but steady loss of functionality even as it gets more pretty.

jonny rubio

Says a speed It reads a speed but I don't think it's 80 once or twice ,I go fast, might even go faster but idk. I'll leave it as unofficial:D

Used to be great It's gotten terrible since last season, before that it was more accurate and had more features. Such a shame...

Isaac Schuessler

The Best Works great uses GPS to trace your location and speed. Really good update.?
