Summit magazine is packed full of skills, advice and inspirational articles for all climbers, walkers and mountaineers.

Summit is published by the British Mountaineering Council (BMC): the national representative body for hill walkers, climbers, and mountaineers in England and Wales.

Each issue features stunning photos, inspirational travel features, insightful interviews, in-depth articles, latest news, event listings, access information, new product news, competitions and a dedicated skills section.

Whether you like walking, climbing, ice climbing, ski-mountaineering, alpine climbing, trekking, bouldering, deep-water soloing, rock climbing, Himalayan climbing or indoor climbing, you’ll find Summit a great read.

Individual members of the BMC receive four issues per year; affiliated club members receive one issue (the spring issue) per year.

Because it's there.... Downloaded this app as an 'affiliated club member' of the BMC, once I had resolved login issues it quickly loaded the latest issue of summit onto my tablet. Clean, clear graphics even when zoomed, more accessible than my hard copy so well get read cover to cover, web links work and I will also get the additional issues normally reserved for full members. Thanks BMC!

Ok but could be improved BMC member here, not registered on the site, so went through the registration process via the application. No request for a password is made Then go to "Login" and have to provide a username (presuming this is the email address I entered) and a "Password" which I've never set. The "Member login" just takes you to the same login page. Unclear where I enter my membership number to obtain copies of the magazines.

Can't log in App won't let me enter more than two characters in password field.. Using nexus 7 2013. Please let me know if this can be fixed. I really like ideas of using this app to read summit instead of receiving paper copy

Graham Harrison

A tip for BMC members... It's not obvious but register and then use your membership number as the password.

I'm sure it should be great Downloaded the app. Being a bmc member I was looking forward to getting the issues free but I can't seem to log into the app to read the articles. Any help will be appriciated.
