Apk file size: 11.0 MB

St John Ambulance is determined that no one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it.

This app includes the latest first aid advice and protocols for dealing with emergency situations. It is simple to follow with illustrated guides and voiced instructions.

The app doesn’t replace the benefits of learning first aid on a St John Ambulance course, nor is it as in depth as a full first aid manual. But when there is an emergency, it will help you to know what to do to in those few crucial moments when basic knowledge of first aid can make the difference.

Nothing is more tragic than a life lost needlessly. You can be the difference between life and death.

Please note: The first aid advice is based solely upon UK protocols. Both the UK and European emergency service numbers are provided.

Good But not great - as others have mentioned a swipe to the next screen would be useful. The separate points are not always that clear

Bonnie Chuang

The exit button is at the wrong place! Great app, very extensive coverage of conditions. However, the exit button is current overlying the next button which mean I can't view all pages! Can you pls move the exit button up the top thanks. I'm on an Asus padfone 2. Thanks.

Taylor Lavagna

Excellent As a st john cadet its really helpful as I might miss out on something during the explanation. Also is very useful for anyone to have on their phone.

Sue Langford

First aid Good layout , but would be so much better if you could swipe screen to change page instead of looking for fiddly tiny arrows at the bottom - not very user-friendly in an emergency !!

Chloe Jones

Must Download I can not recommend enough to download this app, it could save someone's life one day. I'm a member of sja myself, and it makes me proud to see the fantastic resources that have been made available. Everything is clearly explained, and easy to understand.

mark Wrighting

PLEASE DOWNLOAD 1 day it will come in useful and 1 day you could make the difference between life and death and its free 5/5

jade higgins

Im a st john volunteer and trust me when you read something or get trained how to trear someone it stays with you i though id forgotten it but at a duty last week when i need my skiĺls its all come fludding back

Ryu Mitsurugi

Essential for quick review If you are trained to perform first aid, this can be a great review tool to keep you fresh. Always get professionally recertified every few years.

Hugo Foggy

Fantastic Very easy to use and understand. Also very very informative

Jules Stutchbury

Fantastic app So easy to use and a comfort to have access to first aid advice in my pocket. Everyone should have this...well done SJA :-)

Ashutosh Shrestha

No description about epilepsy Epilepsy case management is not given, this is the real time most important medical emergency in the street please include this chapter in this.

Malcolm Lancaster

Learn first aid on the move Great app. This should be preloaded onto phones just in case of an emergency. You never know when you might need it.

David Barton

Good app. Out of date Need to update this app. To the most recent protocols. Great layout but needs to be kept up-to-date with SJA protocols.

Lea Harrington

St John Ambulance What a brilliant app. Has all the info at your finger tip.

Barb Nickels-Smith

St. Johns Ambulance I work at an activity center for seniors. This is great information. Thanks so much! ?

dnalgne eporueton

Its better than the Red Cross app The St John first aid app does not require any of your information. The Red Cross requires permissions, location? What for ??? I have read them both and the St J' is a far better app. This is much more user friendly.

Keishin Tamashiro

Very intuitive menu system except... Would like to see "swipe" function when changing pages instead of paying left and right buttons.

Richard Green

Great I am a cadet who instructs first aid this app makes it easy to double check my own first aid knowledge to make sure i am correct when planning lessons.

Matt Fergusson

Must have! This app should be a factory installed app on all smart phones! World wide! In every lingo!

O Ozmeister

Brilliant Clear, simple instructions. Advice to everyone would be to read it BEFORE you need it!

Steph Sancia

A Must Have App A ditto message from me to my St John NZ app review tonight. A must have app for emergency situations that could happen to family or strangers and when you least expect it. Google+'ed to get the message out there. Download for Free, Save a Life for Free, Life is Very Precious and TOTALLY Priceless, Steph

John Clavery

Must have Just do it. I'm a first aider and recently used this app. Great info :-)

Graham Hadaway

A handy pocket guide for minor injuries Getting yourself on a first aid course is a valuable pursuit and could help you save a life. This guide is useful for lesser injuries when you might need a reminder of the skills you learned. The app is clear and simple to read and navigate.

Mick Hawtin

First aid Good information, hopefully won't need to put any of the information in to use.

George Gasson

First aid I am with the saint John. Ambulance and I find it very useful

nascent nascentt

Some terrible advice. Hasn't been updated in ages "Seizure: There is no treatment. Advise patient to seek assistance.."

Tracie Colbridge

St john ambulance Easy and simple to use, information at your finger tips

Mick Campbell

A real must have! !!!! This app can genuinely help in an emergency situation until help arrives. Simple to use any very informative. Brilliant! !

Ian Spiers

Superb. Simpler than the Red Cross App Other apps have quizzes and videos but that's not what I want when I open a First Aid app

Aaron Mumby

Amazing You could save someones life with this app please download

Carol Jenkin

Good app, but a more responsive, quicker way to doing things to get to the information needed possibly necessary would be advantageous

steve picken

Save a life, get this app. If you have only one app on your phone it should be this.

A Google User

Great Show's me what i hope i never have to use.

Keith Bridges

Great app Everyone needs this on their phone. Knowing what to do to prolong someone's life until the ambulance arrives is so important, it could be a matter of life and death.

Liz Dawes

First Aid app This is an excellent app and is regularly updated. Both me kids have it downloaded and my daughter has used it.

Hugh Miller

Really informative This has actually inspired me to get a first aid degree. Seriously, it could save lives.

Michael Ruston

Very good Every parent should down load this app

Jaime V

A very useful resource even though I'm in the USA This is a well put together app for those times you need basic aid and you're not in the medical field. I hope I never need it, but it's nice to have a reference in the pocket. I really like the voice reader on many of the topics. I was amazed at how this type of information wasn't as common here as you would think. It's something everyone can use but a lot of other apps are just junk. There are no ads or special rights on this app. The only downside is the splash screen. It's not needed.

jay marty

If it helps saves lives then it must be good.

Jef Dunn

St john ambulance is a brilliant organisation I am a member

Maxim Antufyev

Good app Bug: stuck in one topic. Back button does not help. Note 2

Steven Lightfoot

Good Would like the ability to swipe to next page, its a quicker method than trying to hit the next page button at the bottom. Informative app and very useful just needs a slightly more intuitive GUI

James Wilkinson

Useful but crashes a lot Im a first aider/first responder, so its a handy app to have and saves carrying the manual around. Would be great as a training aid if the voice read out all the content, there was videos as well as the diagrams and a way to connect your phone to a monitor via wireless or bluetooth.

Martin Black

Sf Johns ambulance first aid This is a brill app. I have used it a few times with family and in a shopping center in tallaght. We should know cpr and first aid

Tony Burrows

This is the best first aid app about. Installed after doing the coarse to assist me

Devon Skylark

Glad to have this on my phone, hope i never need to use it in an emergency, but it's good to know i can refer to it. Thanks St John's.

Tim Clark

Problem with pages. I can only open the first page of each subject. The right facing arrow does not work. Samsung Galaxy Core Prime.

Chrissie Keelan Magicvegan

Excellent! I only found this because of a newspaper article. I'm going to share the link to Facebook in the hope that everyone who sees it will also download it. Thanks!

Leo Vendler

God guide but clumsy navigation Easily improved with swipe functions. Others have pointed this out - why don't you just fix it?

Grace Galloway

Life saving This is a great app with all the first aid advice everyone should know

Ellie Roberts

Brilliant It really helped me in school and just out and about. Install it!

Gabriella Gyöngyi

It's amazing! It helps a lot if you are panicing in an emergency and if you need a step by step guide.

michelle callum

This app let's you find a subject quickly and advice is straight to the point, however children and childbirth and temperature gage would be great if included.

Nij Little

First aid This app as it says will save life's

Rajesh Krishnan

Swipe option Please add swipe option to navigate pages

Sultan Adekoya

I am also a cadet in St jhon

Handy app for emergencies Very informative and help full app for learning about effective action during Emergency

Patricia Brennan

So good The app is so good my family loves it as well with is good by the way one question lenny when r we gonna get our certificates?

Lewis Kelly

Missing information Doesn't show how to use a triangular bandage

Lance Stimpson

Needs to have description of condition and symptoms as well as how to treat them.

Campbell Milne

Fab Resource Highly recommended for the regular first aide or novice. Would welcome a planned skills development as a way to encourage people to take the next learning step.

Thomas Vincent-Sweet

Useful but interface needs updating Usability in navigation from page to page should be improved.

Stedroy Allen

Great app Already said it!

James Kirby

Great so far Can we get more methods of treatment for minor conditions such as the ones which are featured on the St John website?

Richard Shepherd

I am a trained first aider with St John's, it is good to have a great app for referrence

Rob Draisey

Convenient Nice to know i have this wealth of information and advice at my fingertips.

Robert Plant

Handy Great reference less bulky then taking the book

Rebecca Tierney

Very good app, recommend to anyone

Dermin Collins

Thank you for this amazing app people do need to read up on a skill that everyone should know because it's a great feeling when you have saved the ones you love and can now take care of the great people of the world thank you from your friendly neighborhood fireman for life D. Collins

Mike Boddy

Gerat App but wrong emergency phone number This app will deserve a 5 star rating... once it is updated to correct for the emergency phone number in my area. Perhaps there should be a place to change this within the app's settings

Ruth Moog

Opportunity for improvement This app reads like a reference book on first aid. It's good to refer to for keeping first aid knowledge fresh, but would be difficult to use in an emergency situation. As it does not have a search function you must use the menu to find info, which is spread across multiple pages. This app would be most valuable if you had no phone signal to call for help or no internet access in an emergency. I'd love to see some improvement to the UX and to gamify the content so it acts as a fun refresher of this info!

Sinéad Ní Shúilleabháin

Great app! This really is a great app to have on a phone, it came in great help last week when I was going to an EMS related interview. Everything is clear and concise. I do agree with others,a swipe page option would be better and faster than the current method of changing pages. Still a great app though

Keith Duffin

I have not had need to use this and hope I never will, but if I did I would not want to be searching for the little button to advance the page. Give us the ability to "swipe" to change page.

Sarah Law

Good, but some wrong info It's a good app for someone with no first aid training, however the "drowning" section is wrong as you should never give rescue breaths, just chest compressions!!

Gianni de Schaepdryver

Dangerous and incomplete information The app is well-structured but lacks important information, fot example in the 'Diabetes'-category, it only lists the symptoms for hypoglycemia and not for hyperglycemia (pardon the spelling). This renders the app a whole lot less useful and makes the app feel less trustworthy.

Anthony Hand

If in doubt dial 999 Think before you act. Danger Response Breathing Airway Circulation. Knowing how, where and when to apply first aid may ensure the safety of the service user and YOU. Book me a full refresher course.

Good Innovation I like the innovation though I have not used it. I will try it out and see if it has flaws. Atleast technology is gearing towards the right direction

Furi Kitten

Fantastic easy access Wonderful app, would prefer a few more voiced units, and inclusion of a CPR counter / assist

David John Harvey

Very good instructions IF you can get to see past first page. Somethings wrong with the page turning buttons, mostly they do not work. Need larger sensitive area for each button, better still enable swipe page as so many have suggested. Could also enable tap left or right of screen to turn page, as in most readers. In fact all of the above should work when one is under pressure. Not much good if you can't read it because the page won't turn reliably.

Lachlin Good all

Very good I'm a cadet in St john ambulance and this helps me a lot

James Regan

Life saver in your pocket. Just done the 3 day course. Found it extremely educational.

Damon Scott

Good app Swiping between pages would be quicker and easier than the little arrows at the bottom of the page.

Neill Walker

Poor app design App has some very useful information but isn't layed out particularly well or detailed enough. Would benefit from extra pictures an photos.

Mark Westlake

Handy pocket guide Very easy to use and navigate. Excellent memory aid for first aiders.

Wessel Herbst

Excellent Everyone should have this!

Earl Kruger

St John First Aid Advice App I myself are a member of St John and this app...the amount of info.. Is on point ?

Sergio Axel Santana Calvillo

Dabuti~ I like it so much, I would use it in my profession, also in everyday. But there are some difficulties while I surf through the app, like the bottoms sometimes do not response or take me out and close the app. Thanks a lot-

Ad Casey

No brainer Everyone should have this app. It's free, easy to use and could make a huge difference to a life. Download it!

Fadi Saade

Exactly what you need! Just completed my first aid training today, and was recommended to download the app. I'll always have my phone on me, so have the information everywhere that I go. The instructions are exactly as I was trained, and comprehensive with images. Good app!

Alaric Lister

Great app Always useful to have hope I will never need it though

Arif Tahir

Great App St John's saved my life, hopefully this app will help save a lot more, thank you!

Michael Jardine

No messing Great instant reference for first aiders

Christine O'Grady

St John Ambulance first aid Everything you need in an emergency.

Michael Hoffmann

Good, but plays sound unexpectedly I was using this app to prepare, instead of in an emergency, and it started talking when I didn't want it to.

Pastor Cmentarny

This app should be mandatory on all devices

Hui Min Hor

Glad to be a stjohn's first aider

Michael Ozoemena

Great app Life saving

Ian W

Incredibly useful but could use one change... This has everything you should know to assist someone in need. However, I would make one change. The buttons to move to the next page are far too small. Either make them bigger or have the ability to swipe the entire page to change. In a high risk situation, you won't have time to try and tap a little button in the corner.

John Elliot

The victim would be dead Example: Stroke. By the time you got through all the sub category links to learn the various points, the person would be dead! Put them on a single page. Terrible.

Izarah Mitha

Love this app St John's ambulance came to my school today and taught us most of these things but that I can forget them, I downloaded this amazing app where I can remind myself with all of these tips and first aid things.

Björn T

Overall a great app and MUSTHAVE for nearly any emergency. However, we all like to assume we know a thing or 2 about first aid, but we might be wrong.. So maby include a knowledge test in the app as well?

Pippa Wharmby-Hancock

First Aid courses As an SJA cadet this is highly useful for my cadet first aider course. With this I don't have to worry about forgetting anything in the holidays and periods without the weekly session!

Lucy Sibley

Adaptation needed Would be worth putting in a swipe to turn pages as trying to touch the tiny page turner when you're in the chaos of trying to perform a procedure would make this app much more user friendly

natasha bee

Lovely Im learning a lot from this n wl cm in handy some dae.thank u

Great Saves lives, tells how to tackle any problem!

C P R Done, casualty to hospital

Bob Wikson
