Horrible Messages stuck in system and keep repeating. Has been going on for weeks now. And no one seems to care or know what's going on at spok. Total failure! I'd delete if I wasn't the support person at the health system I'm employed at.

Michael Kayatta

A paging app that doesn't page you on time. This app is clumsy to use, requires frequent signing in, but the worst feature is that it doesn't even alert you on time. It goes dormant and may not alert you to pages for hours.

Sam Chand

Horrible app. Its a miss or hit. I have to open it each time to get it to ring, if not it won't go off. Or there will be a significant delay from getting paged to it actually ringing hours later. What's the point in that? Wish my hospital would get rid of this

Joshua Straus

Broken application it will not forward messages in a timely manner useless as an emergency paging system

Derek Kiecker

Top Notch Works well when set up correctly. Not a difficult process to set up!

Kristian Serrano

Alerts only when opened If I'm being paged, I only get an alert if I actually open the app, which pretty much renders this useless.

Steve Winslow

Works but needs improvement There is no easy way to shut this app off when I'm not on call. I have to uninstall the app, which is ridiculous. Also, it doesn't actually create a notification on my phone, so my smart watch doesn't alert me when a page comes in. It would be great to have a vibration on my wrist rather than a loud beep that I can't silence without unlocking my phone.

Rick Bell

Suggestion Consider adding a button to disable the beeper when you are off service. Additionally: wonky app. Pages disappear after you hit the acknowledge button. The only pager in my entire career that requires you write the pages down as soon as you get them.

Ken Waters

Poorly written poorly working app Good thing I kept my old clunky pager. This app alerts on about 30% of the pages. Often, I have to start the app and refresh it to get it to alarm (sometimes not even then). If you use this app for life safety alerting, STOP. They don't appear to care about getting it right.

Game Changer Amcom is the best. Ignore the haters. If set up properly it really works well.

Kenneth Oslund

Doesn't work Sometimes it alerts sometimes it doesn't.

Jon Bekenstein

No ability to change number of notification repeats on Android. I still cannot select the number of notification repeats in Android. Major disappointment compared to the iOS version.

Chris Dudley

Won't register my account

James Reed

Updates have problems Better looking interface now. Doesn't work after each update. Have to open and sign in, acknowledge agreement , otherwise miss pages. Stupid stupid since we're enterprise customers. Need to learn how to automate this. Also does not alert through lock screen. So no clue that it's a page vs. Txt. Cannot seem to turn off or force vibrate. Bad for it to go off during recital.

Joy Roman

Keep making me reinstall and reregister I missed a page because of an "update".. this is the third time I've had to install in as many months. Reliability is a bit important for a pager app.

Stacey Persha

I am missing pages with upgrade. I actually had to turn off pager to disable beeping. Upgrade is worse than original.

David Bae

Verizon LG G2 App receives pages quickly but does not actually link to phone's notification system. No tone, no vibrate, no led, no messaging bar, nothing to alert you that a page was received unless you open up the phone for another reason. "Oh, I see I was STAT paged to the OR 47 minutes ago." Good thing I'm still using old fashioned beeper as well...

Mohammed Tokh

Lots of shortcomings No way to turn the app off. Need to re-enter user name and password every time a new person is searched. No notification bar alert. I need to re-enter my user name every time the app is opened.

A Google User

Lacking Could use more flexibility in controlling the alerts. Can't silence the alarm unless you sign fully into the phone. Would be nice to silence alarm just like a phone call. Would be nice to have a quick, one button, turn off all alerts for those who use this in a group paging setup

A Google User

Love the new look Love the new look and feel of the app.

Niko Thieling

Life changing After downloading the app, my quality of life has increased ten fold, and my dog has learned how to talk. All the while receiving a 400% raise to my salary. Go Mobile Connect!

imran baloch

Good app lot of room for improvement Need to improve UI. decrease battery drain. Notification bar output would be good. But please improve the horrendous UI.

Mario Melone

Can't stand Iphone user like there Amcon app.... There app has ALL the bells and whistles...need to get on this Amcon.

Ainsley Freshour

Bad update Since I updated the app, I can no longer touch the number or the phone icon and return a page. I have to exit the app, open the phone, and remember the number to dial. The app is to be awesome. The update leaves much to be desired.

Stan Kim

Barely a beta Cons: 1) No visual alert for incoming page or missed page. 2) No way to silence the alert without entering my passcode on the phone, opening up the app, and tapping the new alert. 3) No vibration mode. Silencing the phone will not silence the application. You have to enter the application and turn off the volume. However, the vibrate mode only vibrates once for two seconds. Overall, needs some work. I will be going back to my pager and text alerts.

Mark Henderson

much better power management Great app that replaces my old pager. Unlike previous versions, the app has negligible effect on power consumption.

Alan C

poor functionality Doesn't display in notification bar, audio from page can only be silenced by going into the app, audio cannot be adjusted from standard volume control, only through app. Would uninstall if i didn't need it for work.

A Google User

Not good Needs better functionality and friendlier UI. It also drains the battery very quickly

A Google User

Wakelocks Prevents your phone from entering sleep mode so it will drain your phone battery very quickly. Needs some improved coding by some professionals.

A Google User

Great app for secure messaging! It is easy to use and has the features we needed. Great job Amcom!

A Google User

Not working Unable to log in. No way to even test it out.

A Google User

Awesome It would be nice if there could be a visual alert like when you miss a call or get a text message. Other than that it's great.

A Google User

Keeps getting better.. More phones, more features. Good things coming.

Streamlines communication at the hospital.

Android Volume Down volume does not silence. I even went to my settings on my phons and it still had an audible tone. I also went in the app settings and it did not give me the option of a silent ringtone.

Chris Cowles

Still can't silence alert Update claims you can silence pager alert with volume keys. Not. With screen lock in place as required by most organizations, you can't get to the app to silence the screaming alert. Also, why can't muting the phone also mute the app. Really? Why does my phone have a mute button?

E Khine

Not perfect. Still quiet useful. I am using this on LG G2 android phone and on "AMC Select USMO" network. PROS: 1. Pages come through reliably and rings a few moments earlier than the actual beeper. 2. Allow me to call back with touch of a button rather than dialing in my phone. 3. Using in combination with Prefixer, now I can call back 4 digit numbers with one touch. (This should be a built in feature of this app.) CONS: 1. Only one Beeper sound available. (One can use cellphone ring tones. But I like my beeper to ring like a beeper.) 2. There is no button to silence the ring. It is quite annoying when you are answering one page and another page keeps ringing again and again. 3. There is no way to tell which page you answered back and which one still needs to be answered. DEVELOPERS: Please fix these deficiencies. That will make it a five star app.

Thomas Goodnow

Cannot register Installation went well enough, but there appears no way to actually access the app. It repeatedly asks for credentials, which it then says are invalid. The "forgot password" option sometimes generates a new one, but then it either goes back to "cannot register at this time, try again later" or refuses to send a password at all, as the email account "is already in use" (yes, that's why I'm using it!!). Tried rereregistering several times with different emails, with no result. Their support pages are unhe

Have to use it for work, but that does not mean it's good, or should not be fixed. The notifications are the BIGGEST ISSUE. Everything is for Ringtones... this is a NOTIFICATION APP and it should be using Notifications. Secondly, the do not disturb only works if you change it to "Use Device's Ringtone"... this is WRONG on so many levels. Finally, if you reboot, this app does NOT wake-up!!! It will stay sleeping, even though you might have a COUPLE messages pending notification. Finally, this app will NOT WAKE UP after a reboot. The only way I have found is to actually open the app after any and all reboots. It's pretty BAD if you miss a notification!!!

UPDATE: Volume PROBLEM SOLVED There are TWO listings under "Site" in the settings window. One is my organization and the other is "AMC Select USMO" change the "Site" to "AMC Select", choose Settings, and then " uncheck the box for "Use device ringtone" (I also then set the volume under the low, medium, and high priority to low, but I think that isn't even needed. Just UNCHECK the box as I said) Go back to your organization as the Site, and then under settings, select what tone and volume you want I had previously changed the volume settings under my organization but you have to ALSO change the settings under " AMC Select" as well. <Android will not allow silencing or even altering alarm volume. (Loud enough to wake the dead). Still not able to do so after an update occurred 6/2015. Supposedly iPhone DOES allow you to make these changes.>

Ok app with so much potential, but off the mark. This application was given as a secondary option to carrying a pager throughout the hospital. Because it runs off of WiFi I was getting pages more consistently. However one major problem with this app is that you cannot see the messages without having to unlock your phone. Also you can't stop and silence the beeper with one touch. You have to go in and unlock your phone in order to silence the page. Also will not go on mute if your phone is on mute.

Dustin Petersen

I agree, unrealized potential. I like the idea of getting my pages on my phone, but I don't want them all the time. I need to be able to easily change my notification settings from within the app (phone only, pager only, or both). I shouldn't have to go to the web, log into the site, click on the notifications menu, and click the setting to change it. It should be simple, from within the app. Another suggestion, beyond that, would be to allow scheduling for notifications using the app. I want to be able to say, use my pager during the day time M-F, and use the mobile app for notifications after 8 pm and on weekends. I also want to be able to pick a sound file from my phone to use as the notification sound. This shouldn't be hard to program. Lastly, and a big request, is to be able to mute or snooze the alert sound by pressing a key on the phone, such as the volume key. Every time the phone goes off, I have to unlock it and then repeatedly tap the 'accept' button to get it to 'shut up'. It's ridiculous. If I have already heard the sound and reached for the phone to check it, I should be able to simultaneously mute the sound as I'm grabbing my phone.

Lucas Otten

Poorly written Android app. That the app ignores Priority Interruption mode is completely unacceptable and frankly looks like little thought went into this app. Many of us in the Healthcare sector are not on-call 24/7. We want pages during daytime hours and then silenced during the night. With the SPOK app I have to manually go in each night and silence the alert inside the app, then the following morning re-enable. My 1980s era pager had an auto silence setting. I can't believe a modern computer app can't do the same thing. I get the feeling an intern was given the assignment of writting the Spok app for Android.

Houman Khalili

Volume not adjustable, neither can it be turned off without unlocking the phone; these two features are basic essentials of a pager app. I don't have an app killer, but not infrequently pages are received with considerable delay, which is very concerning when used in a healthcare setting.

Aidan G

GCM for critical messaging? PSA: This app uses Google cloud messaging ie: it provides no guarantee of speed or delivery of your messages. You cannot use this for critical messaging!

K Cooley

Works Great I have to use this with my company when I'm on call and it does the job just fine.

Kirby Knight

Unable to easily turn off notifications For the iPhone version, you are able to go to app notifications and turn off Spok notifications. This does not work for your Spok android version

Angela Baldwin

Too loud! I work night shift you have to do something about the volume

Jon Bekenstein

No ability to change number of notification repeats on Android. I still cannot select the number of notification repeats in Android. Major disappointment compared to the iOS version. Still cannot select number of repeats for notification.

John Sirak

Why no alert length setting? The most obvious missing feature is the inability to set the length of the alert. If one is scrubbed in surgery, this becomes an extremely annoying omission.

Eliseu Yung Chuang

Not functional When I get a page, it forces android to show a full screen text. So if you are doing something else then you'll be forced away from it. And the app crashes requiring a soft reset by physically removing the batteries.

Menchu Beladi

Android user I cant do anything but receive pages. Cant send a message. Im using android.

Julie Lynne

Poor Customer Service for App My app doesn't have all of the features the Play Store says it should and no one in customer service can explain why. I've spoken to three reps already and each one tells me something different, none have fixed my problem.

Kim Ritchie

Great App It's awesome!

Eh First thing is to allow auto signatures to the text. Right now, when we text to a pager, people have no way to know who's it's from unless I add a sig. Needs an option to have it added automatically. Second. Need option to delete message right from the messages list. What's with having to go in an deleting each individual text?

Emeka Anyanwu

Less Effective for One-way Paging Compared to receiving my hospital pages via text messages and then customizing the alert with Textra this app is less effective and versatile. A huge but simple improvement might be allowing me to use system sounds instead of the sounds bundled in the app. I'd also like the volume to adhere to the volume I set in Android. I'm going back to text messages, I'll check back in 3-6 months.

Carl Erickson

Broken but still better than physical pager Sadly the enticing volume control features don't work, so the two options are: Silent and miss pages, or destroy everyone's hearing within 20 feet. C'mon Spok Mobile.

Zouyan Lu

Needs volume control App ignores the phones volume settings. It's either silent or full blast. Extremely disruptive when I get a page at night or am in a room with a patient. There are options for volume in the settings but they are all greyed out.

Unreliable Late pages (we're talking 45 minute delays between them paging and the page going through), not notifying me of pages (never beeps or anything, but then I open the app to page someone, and it notifies me of a page from 3 days ago)... this app sucks. Get a real pager, and save yourself the trouble.

Alicia Thomas

Has some bugs The program works most of time. For some reason, if I have my wireless on, messages won't come through for hours until I change locations. If I turn the wireless off, it works a bit better, but then my phone looses charge quickly. If they could make the message alert system more reliable, it would be a great app.

Spok app It's a cut above pagers.

Carl Erickson

Broken piece of pure disappointment Delivers pages inconsistently, which is great if you're trying to have a quiet day, but can be problematic if you're on call. Sadly the volume control features still don't work, so the only two options remain: Silent (miss pages), or unprofessionally loud (makes your attending yell at you). Spok Mobile, what would it take to get this fixed? I will gladly revise my rating if you can fix this app!

Matthew Robuck

Pages delayed hours Often times, I won't get a page until I open the app which doesn't help much in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping since I'm not opening the app. I've made sure I have the latest version, deleted and re-added the app and had sys engineers check on the back end for issues to no avail. Reliability is so important in a healthcare setting. I've missed high priority pages by 3 hours, once I opened the app, they all came in. Thinking I may have to go back to my old pager.

Robert Hance

Ongoing delayed messages Messages are not reliable. My hospital/service uses this app for paging. Sometimes pages are delayed as much as 12 hours. Unacceptable and a law suit waiting to happen.
