Latest update Latest update has broken the "Usage" part of the app. Graph is good, but the table below is not showing correctly. Instead it is showing only the part with"Appliances" with zero values in all fields. Graph is showing good values.

Miguel Duarte

Quite good, but can improve Detection of devices is reasonable, but still some confusion with air conditioner and mixing of devices with similar power consumption. Maybe some manual help could improve reliability in deciding between which n device is which.

David Tucker

Nice update...Keep them coming !

Mark Lee

Expensive energy meter The historical energy usage seems to be the only reliable aspect of the Smappee. Real-time readout only works 50% of the time and the main selling point of the Smappee, the appliance detection, is very unreliable. Overall it's a very frustrating experience and feels as though it's been launched before its finished and working.

Mike Benoit

UPDATE: I returned my smappee unit to get it replaced, which took over a month, when I got the new one it had a dead CT, so had to wait another week for them to send a new one of those. It works now but app is flaky and crashes often. ORIGINAL: Completely wrong readings, claims I'm using 33watts for the entire house, tech support takes almost a week to respond to emails and their responses are useless because they don't even read the original email.

Alex Achucarro

Getting worse :( I'm a real fan of Smappee, saved me money immediately and the data it produces is best home automation I've seen, even better than Nest. But, it all hinges on this app which is flakey at best. Wife's iPhone experiencing same issues. Main screen not working, plugs not responding to on or off (luckily we have manual remotes). Please fix for Christmas!

Jason Conkling

App crashes repeatedly Please help. Galaxy S5.

Update fixes issues Bought the main unit and 5 additional plugs. Initially had issues regarding the wifi connection and the scheduling of the power to the plugs not working. However support has been excellent and they have fixed all the issues. Having access to the history of your power consumption and live access to your power consumption had enabled me to find old devices that had been left plugged in. The scheduling is great, and easy to setup from within the app so no fiddling behind units trying to get access to the plugs

Doesn't work App doesn't download, won't let me install on any Android or iPhone. Therefore making the monitor a waste of money. Perhaps my review may be left this time? Really disappointed

Amazing product Installation of the product in the fuse box was easy. It takes a few days for Smappee to come up with discovered appliances, and it takes some effort to identify what these appliances are, and what is consuming Always-On power. But the results are rewarding. The technology does not offer a 100% coverage and it depends on the situation, but I get very close to 90% and hope to improve the Always-On metrics.

Ken Tan

Recent update causing a bug Recent Swipe addition now makes it unable to move around, zoom in/out individual bubbles of appliances that are switched on. Possible to restrict Swipe for the main screen level only?

Monika Dovbakh

First impression- awesome! Easy to install application, with hardware it was issue to get proper wifi signal to router in basement. Love it lets ho9e appliance detection will proof company commitment about product

Sven Maes

The app works but can use some better help I could not find the plugs in the app and came to the play store to see if other people had this problem. Only then I noticed in the changelog you have to swipe on the home screen. Some indication on that page would have been nice

Bastiaan Notebaert

Recognizing devices very hard The app is great at tracking our overall solar production and electricity usage. It fails in recognizing appliances. Even appliances which are turned on daily at the same time with a smappee remote are most of the time not monitored - while this is the thing you buy smappee for.

Jason Lightfoot

Update breaks it on Oneplus One running 5.0.2 Was working fine. Need to clear app data once after update to avoid immediate crash on launch.

Neil Rosenberg

Buggy product, fail The combination of the Smappee hardware and software wasted both my time and money. Wi-fi connectivity issues, Android app bugs and a general sense of not ready for primetime makes this a frustrating and ill-advised purchase.

Koen Rutten

It used to work fine but for a while now the table with values is incorrect. I always get a notification of network timzout and since yesterday the app no longer wants to work, just shows blank smappee window...

Humberto Garza Villalobos

Severe connectivity issue A bug on android doesnt allow me to see the available wifi networks. The screen remains blank.

Adam Staines

Old graphs were better The recent update made the usage graphs virtually unreadable, which renders the app a lot less helpful and a lot more confusing than it was previously. Hopefully it is just teething issues that'll be fixed and not a long term usability problem.

Michael San Antonio

Poor update The update removed several nice features and doesn't allow me to scroll down on any screens so only the top appliances and events are shown. Please fix.

Michael Yeoman

Cannot get past installation - poor guide Not able to install on either Sony mobile or tablet. Inadequate instructions, I have a purple flashing light not green, yellow or blue. Had enough after hour and half. V frustrated ?

David Tucker

New update does not show which appliances are on In my old app I can long press on the consumption icon and it showed me what appliances are on. This useful feature has disappeared in the latest app. Please bring back these useful features. Edit: Events list on/off status is now fixed, thank you. Good to see that we can now trigger plugs based on net solar export/import.

Simon Graaff

Reasonable but needs work With the new update if you click on the details of your appliances the back button takes you back through all the appliance pages you just looked at before taking you to the appliance list screen with the menu. Back button should take you to the menu, not to the previous appliance

Mike Donaldson

Lack of detail Since the new update it's now impossible to know what appliances are on or off or when they came on. The events just lists the appliance and a on off details and it no longer detects new appliances either. Bit disappointed with this update

Mike Lucey

Buggy and slow Smappee have ruined what was previously a reasonable app. Don't upgrade to this new architecture until it is fixed.

Cory Patton

Works well with exceptions Connects quick and easy to use, found a bug when setting up the rate schedule that won't allow me to change anything or un due the rate. Will attempt to re-install

Mike Benoit

Don't bother... They updated the app and the device had to be re-setup, except the app just freezes. Even their website version totally sucks and fails to work including 404 errors. Support takes months to send useless replies... Most expensive paper weight I've purchased.

Dag Wieers

Always reports excessive water consumption If every shower, or bath session generates an excessive water consumption alert (on each device) there is something wrong with the logic... Also, if you don't have solar energy (and never had) the solar "ball" should not be present either.

Adam Staines

Indecipherable graphs make the app (and unit) virtually worthless They updated the app a few months back making the usage graphs virtually unreadable, which renders the app a lot less helpful and a lot more confusing than it was previously. While I hoped it was just teething issues that would be fixed, as the months drag on that hope is fading. Disappointingly the ios app is a lot more user-friendly so it seems android isn't a big focus for smappee. As it stands, the unit offers me no value and I regret purchasing it.

Stephen Lewis

New app forgets password Have to type in password every time app starts, making it practically useless.
