Sidereal Clock

Apk file size: 3.6 MB

The Sidereal Clock displays sidereal times and several other time standards, such as UTC, solar time and julian date. It has 3 time displays and you can choose what time to show in each of them.
All the displayed times are computed from the Sidereal Clock's own timebase which is synchronized to an external high precision NTP time server.
To compute the local times it gets your longitude via GPS.

The Sidereal Clock is supported by ads.

I'd give five stars if the screen didn't auto rotate! I have my Tablet set to Rotation Locked, but this app overrides that. It's most inconvenient and I request that it be fixed, please! Then I will give this very helpful app Five Stars!

Frank Scheibenpflug

Great Astro App I use this app along side my telescope to set the mean solar time. It would save me another step if the date could be in the same screen. I still love it.

Kent Borg

Just downloaded it, looks good Two feature requests. First, don't rotate when device has locked rotation (really a bug fix). Second, do a Pebble Watch companion app! I want the option of real local time on my wrist, enough with this Standard Time hegemony.

Good app. Needs a way to default to the analog clock. Wouldn't mind having a night mode as well.

Dana Harris

Menu Missing? Does the non-paid version even offer a menu to change between digital and analog mode? If it does it's hidden nicely. If you need to pay for analog mode then that should be clearly stated.

Matthias Baldwin

Limited options I finally found the options menu by holding the Recent key on my Galaxy Tab. It does what I want, but the interface is clunky.

HG Lah

Simple, good & it's FREE This is something which I've been looking for on Android and I won't mind paying for it, to get rid of the ads.

Analog clock is a mess on Tab Analog is a mess on Galaxy Tab 10.1. Digital clocks are fine. I'll probably buy it when the bugs are swatted.

Ian Kinnell

What I need Just what I needed. Please add flat dark background and 'night mode' maybe an alarm. Stick it in pro version and its worth paying for.

Leonardo dos Santos

Minimalistic It is very good and useful, but I just wish it could display more times than just 3.

Tyler Hall

Widget needed 5 stars and purchase for a widget with multi alert/alarms. Please.

indrajit barve

LST clock Very good app

Rita Rosas

Add a feature Please add an option to set an alarm to go off at a certain sidereal time. Please, pretty please.

Roy Dalby

Sidereal clock Should be illuminated with red light to preserve night vision. Otherwise great for use at the telescope.

Kishore Poolapalli

Superb Just set the longitude to get best LST value.... A good app for observers...

Robert Shiplett

No font choice Font matters to view time at a glance without glasses. Often I only want to the minute or even nearest 5 or even 10 main AT A GLANCE.

A Google User

Clear cache & data Clear data/cache on update If sidereal time shows as 88:88:88, clear the app's cache & data. Works MUCH better after.

A Google User

Sidereal Display not broken--just needs to be set. Touch screen @ time display and select time to display in that spot. REALLY NEEDS AN ALARM!

A Google User

No competition that I could find. No loss though, this one is almost perfect. More times could be displayed.

A Google User

Issue with UTC I am using an HTC EVO 3D and it appears that Sidereal so-called UTC Coord Universal is actually derived from my Android system clock, that is 15 seconds fast, due to Android bug 5485. Basically no Android application should claim UTC discipline unless fetching UTC from a reliable source, such as an NTP server, equating the delay as well.

A Google User

Extremely useful, especially when combined with "clocksync" and a rooted phone. Finally I have exact time :-) nexus one

A Google User

Works great, if it had alarms it would be outstanding! Please add alarm feature to notify you when the sky is in the position required to view event.

A Google User

Finally! Ive been waiting for one for telescope use

A Google User

New update works properly for me. Thanks!

A Google User

Does not display Julian date...other than that does what it says.

A Google User

Only missing a "preserve your night vision mode". Perfect otherwise.

A Google User

Very good The equation if time should be greatest in March and November :)

A Google User

An alarm would be a wonderful addition. Otherwise its great! HTC Incredible.

A Google User

Does what it says.

A Google User

Best part is its simplicity (just start it up)

A Google User

Nice app. Would be even nicer if I could set the longitude manually and individually per time display. And there is space for more time displays.

A Google User

Simple and very useful. Just what I was looking for. Thanks Mitchl

Shawn Cook

Perfect for Celestial Navigation Practice Being able to display and 'hold' UTC and local/Greenwich sidereal time is ideal for practicing celestial navigation.

Damon Borgnino

Great app. Would be even better with a sidereal alarm setting.

Hussain Ali

H A Wonderful App ! Would be much better if a calculator was included to tell at what local time would a particular sidereal time frame would occur.

A Google User

José A. "...jtg...aqt...time warp...???...thanks..."

Vita Alaya

Good but glitchy Apparent solar time shows as UTC+ time equation. Apparently the manually set longitude is not taken into account (always shows 0 in menu, changes from . to , and then declares invalid in preferences). Would be nice to have a fix for people who avoid running GPS like me. Could have something to do with the decimal sign, as my country standard is a comma but the app apparently is set to use a dot in places so it might cause the hiccup (standardize which one you use throughout the code - dot or system).

Lewis Burmeister

Functional clean Used at my telescope for a year to set the analog setting circles. Updated to pro version. Not loaded down with ever featured under the sun.

margarita mc

Five stars now the rotation blip is fixed It lost my longitude during the update, which threw me. Easily solved, but keeping settings during upgrades would be helpful.

Jonathan Mueller

Good app. I wish I could choose how much to display at once, I would like the option of four or five items on the screen, not just three.

Good app. Needs a way to default to the analog clock. Wouldn't mind having a night mode as well.

Ben Grego

Nice but.. How do I get the other clocks as shown..All I get is the sideral clock..

Biplab Chakraborty Vanu Chakraborty

Nice Happy to get the actual time. Thanks

Shawn Cook

Restarted my phone, app disappeared. Now I can't put it back because it's no longer compatible, which sucks because I paid for it. Guess I'll go find another one. :/

Joe Adlhoch

Good app, but a CLOCK doesn't need my identity Why does this app need access to my identity? That's not a rhetorical question. Developers should explain that satisfactorily in the description.

Mihail Konstantinov

Excellent app. How can I get a widget?
