Can't change directory Tried tapping where it says "Tap here" but bugger all happened. Nope, in fact tap it lots of times it eventually comes up.

muhammad awan

Very useful No bull crap no extra stuff to confuse ppl jus straight to the point checking sd card

Stephen Vaughan

Does what it says on the tin Slow but thats limited by the speed of your SD card, three passes, write then verify then read. Can't fault it!

John Phillips

Meh simple but about 10% inaccurate read and nearly 20% inaccurate on write, both on the low side when compared with test instrument. Also, I accidentally chose the wrong folder and after that it ignored taps to change the folder again. The only way round it to uninstall and install again.

A Google User

Drois X2 user try again Works good, you have to double tap the path and it will bring up other paths. It's real touchy you have to do it in the right spot usually after the cursor. If they make changing location easier would give it 5 stars. It will switch paths on my Droid x2 just have to work at it.

Garry Slocombe

I am surprised by negative comments for this app. It does exactly what it says it does, and it does so with clear and concise animated graphics. It was very worthwhile for helping me diagnose a problem with a damaged card and for confirming that it had been fixed.

SD Card Tester after buying a 128GB + 2 more 64GB sandisc micro SD cards from cex, and fully testing it with this superb app! All my cards are fake/false gig cards. 5 green stars! 9/10% also use this PC program called h2testw it works too. much thanks this ones a keeper.

Does not check NTFS-formatted SD correctly Seems to be OK with FAT (and exFAT)? But when it tests my NTFS-formatted card, it starts writing at an unrealistic speed (40MB/s when successful writes using exFAT are more like 7MB/s) then it doesn't even read before saying my card is OK. Of course, when I opened it in File Manager, the card (or more liely the card reading driver on my Android tab) has crapped out again and it lists No Files.

Error when trying to remove test file I used this app in the past without error. Recently my internal storage had a bad sector so I reformatted it through adb and used this app to test. I set it to the max and let it run. No random reboots which is a good sign, but then it wouldn't remove the 8gb of test files. I had to reboot into recovery and manually remove them.

Two major flaws The app has two majgor flaws. First if you want to rerun the test you have close and reopen it. I noticed by chance that defaul path "sdcard" was indeed my phones INTERNAL memory. I can tell this by the folder structure. In my case the SD card was "mnt/extSdCard". I have 4.2.2 Galaxy S4 mini GT-I9195. It takes some advance knowledge to figure out the "mnt/extSdCard" and that's a minus. But in the end, as free and issues that can be worked around it's a nice tool.

Vincent Bushle

Works mostly Works fine on my HTC Sensation and my tablet's internal memory (I was just curious about the speed). But the app locks up when I try to test my tablet's sd card. It could be because I'm using jellybean or the fact that my tablet is an unknown brand

Steven Kraft

Craneopp Galaxy note 3; download app it keeps telling me that it stopped when trying to open. GOOD LUCK. ..

KEVIN JUDD

SD Card Tester It does work and I can say that it found a Cuba 32 faulty SD card for me .♥

A Google User

Works great - quick & easy Love it. Works great with zero issues. Recommended. (HTC Evo)

A Google User

Inaccurate The speeds quoted can't be correct for a class 2 SD (nor do they match benchmarks on other PCs). I think it's reporting performance based on caching in ICS.

A Google User

Difficult to change path No real configuration required, gives similar results on subsequent operations. Would be 5 stars if changing the default directory was not a "hit/miss" as it is now - you need to keep tapping and wait for the new menu to pop up.

Suhaas Ramesh

??? I think this app is pure wrong...my class 10 card's read speed doesn't even cross 7.5MB/s acc to this app... However it reaches 18MB/s when tested under the same conditions with another app... Really this is fake... I'm only giving 3 stars cuz of the fact v can know whether the card is fake or nt... Else this app is completely waste

Daniel Paige

Excellent speed test Much easier to use on my GN2 than the other app I used to rely on, sd tools. Does require minimum knowledge of the android file system to test all storage, but at least you don't have to type out a file location each time you test on a JB device. Only issue I've found is that when tapping on file location to access the directory, it's sometimes hard to find the "sweet spot", and requires multiple taps. Fix that, receive star, lol

A Google User

Did the job Would have given it 5 stars if it haddnt been so large. Thanks.

A Google User

Much appreciated Worked well to verify my newly purchased 32GB class 4 microsd card was real -- Thanks!

Best tool to measure transfer speeds Very intuitive and reliable, unlike SD tools. Interface is basic. Maybe too simple. Would be much better if there were charts and graphs measuring speed over time and displaying max, min, and average r/w rates. Ability to save and report results would also be nice. One thing to note: This app can also test transfer speeds for internal memory and external USB drives. Just be sure to point to the correct path. Browse the /mnt directory to look for your drives. Common paths: /mnt/sdcard (internal), /mnt/sdcard2 (SD card slot), /mnt/usb0 (external USB drive-may need to select a partition)

Christina Reuter Mitchell

Superior to 'SD Tools' 'SD Card Tester' is an easy, effective method for testing both internal memory and external SD memory. This app is superior to the more popular 'SD Tools' because SD Card Tester is compatible with all cell phones. SD Tools will not work on Motorola phones, which I discovered the hard way. MANY COMPLIMENTS to the Developer for producing this excellent, reliable app. (Motorola Atrix HD with Jellybean v4.1.1)

steve rupprecht

Uses wrong directory for sdcard Installed and executed. App claimed to be set to execute against the sdcard. I dragged the size slider to max and only saw 32GB. I have a 64GB SD card. Test ran as advertised. Read reviews of app and saw others reporting issues of not running in sd card but instead runs on the internal memory. Explains why app only detected 32GB. As others had experienced, I had trouble getting the app to switch directories. Its tough to double click and NOT intuitive to change directories. There are better apps out there. I uninstalled.

Alan Bisaillon

It has no instruction I dosenot do anything but tell me the size of files, also it dosent tell the size of the sd card or anyting it cliams, perfect scam

Daniel Goldman

awesome does 1 thing and does it well. it tests to make sure you didnt get ripped off on your SD card purchase. I bought a class 10 micro SD card, although it seemed fast, I couldn't trust until I tested it. this app verified that it is indeed running at class 10 speeds! No clutter or BS, just a straight forward test. thanks dev!

Akash Bajpai

Doesn't even start Unfortunately sd card tester has stopped. .error at my note 3 ( SM-N900 ).

Henry Marston

Mixed results Worked on my Android 4.0 phone, where I had no SD card issues. Seems to write to free space so that it doesn't overwrite existing files. However, I installed it onto a KitKat phone (A 4.4.4) and when I started it I got the message 'Unfortunately, SDCardTester has stopped' (Report or OK) Unfortunately, it's this new phone that has the SDcard issues!

Xavier Chua

Great for basic uses Able to test multiple storage. However the % bar keeps jumping from a lower % to a higher % (eg 9% -> 56% -> 100%) without smooth animation and long pauses in between.

A Google User

Only App that lets you change the path As others have commented, it IS possible to change the path to /sdcard-ext with this app (I tried all the others and they don't work). However, it's tricky. You need to tap-tap-tap in the top-right corner a bunch of times, keep at it and eventually you will get a screen that allows you to change the path. This is important with phones such as the Bionic because otherwise you're just testing the internal memory, which is pointless since you can't swap it out with something faster.

A Google User

Dubious!! Why do I get 'Error processing purchase' message when trying to install this app? There is no mention of it being anything other than free. I don't trust it - please prove me wrong.

Gene Oakley

Nice, but... It's great, but it would be much better if halfway during write process, you provide an option to skip the write process and process to validating/reading immediately. For example, I can set the app to test for up to 16 GB in the beginning, but then after seeing it write over 8GB, I would love to be able to skip and process with validating and readtesting that 8GB of written data.

Varun Paul

Great app 8.89mbps write and 37mbps read. Is it OK for a Sandisk 32gb Class 10 micro sd on my Note2 ?

alex barbu

Help !' How can i delete the temp files that were written by the app without erasing the whole sd? Thank you for the answer..error 3012 if i recall and 1009

akmal hussin

Detected Good. But hard to change directory, need to tab few times. Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3

A Google User

EVO 4G CM7 I can only give this app 3 stars because its 25mbs when installed. Works great other then its a space hog. Luckily I can uninstall it after I use it. Don't switch cards to often.

Phill Takiya

Nice App It does what it say, people having slow or speed issue,u need to know ur sd card write/read speed b4 giving a bad rating

Eric HandymanAuto

Worked perfectly in my old Motorola Defy XT. App was already set to sdcard so there was no need to change the path. Tested a 16gb Emtec class 10 micro sdhc because after 1.5 years of use it wouldn't mount but doing an sd card erase in settings got it working again. Used this app to test the sd card's integrity. Chose the size of the test file by moving the slider all the way to 15816 MB. Test results: Writing - card took 99.9% or 15805 MB of data at 13.72 MB/s. Reading - validated and read 100% of 15821 MB at 9.95MB/s. It took a while to complete but it seems this card is good,

A Google User

S3 1.4 JB 4.1.2 ExSDcard - Sandisk 32gb UHS-1 class10 w8.15mb/s - r10.61mb/s - the read speed is way off should be between 17- 18 MB/s as scored using SD tools app which is closer to manufacturer read speed

Not working on Honeycomb devices. Could be due to honeycomb issue, no permission to modify sd card...

Пётр Паули

Good test Simple application that do what it must do. 5 stars

App size 9MB application size is too much! But app is useful.

Cool Add microSDXC, please.

Andrey Laptev

Don't work on my pad.

Michael Santos

Won't even load for me. The app crashes every time I try to open it. Never even had the chance to try the app.

Nshan Gyulyan

Crashed on a perfectly good card At the exact moment a 30000MB test finished the app crashed and on next load warned that the card may be fake, asking to try the test again. I tired, with the same result. For lower values it works alright. I'm testing a 32GB sdhc card, that works well and is perfectly good according to h2testw.

Ronald Ouellette

V. Good App Deserves more than 3.3 avg review it gets. The only negative is getting the path page to open, but it usually responds to a Double tap or two at beginning of path field. Once open don't miss the UP arrow on top right. Select the target SD then back arrow to main screen and start test. The results are pretty consistent in repeated tests. You can select longer tests for a bit more accuracy and the app verifies the data accuracy as well as telling you the speed. Good graphics too. Be prepared to feel cheated by the speed claims from SD manufacturers. Real world performance in tablets and phones is not even close to stated specs.

Lawrence Wade

Sounds promising, I don't trust my SD card. But crashes before the UI loads, so it's not handling something about my phone gracefully. E-mail me when it works.

nathan nicholas

Won't work Just closes. Update... I've gone from an s3 to an s5 and guess what!! Still don't work. -5 stars from me

Bob Faw

Obsolete! Last update was 2011!! Rating: 0* for Android >= 4.4 (KitKat) 5* for Android <= 4.3 (Jelly Bean) I noticed that virtually no one has been able to get this to work since KitKat came out. Then I saw it has not been touched since October 2011. My Galaxy Note 3 running Lollipop 5.0 crashed during every attempt to run, even after a clean reboot. I think it is safe to declare this program officially dead. ??? It still runs fine on my old HTC myTouch running 2.3.4

Dark Sch

error when I open this app I recived this error (unfortunately sdcard tester has stopped) I press ok & then the app exit please respond I can't even send you feedback

Ivor Davies

Keeps Crashing on launch Can't run this app, keeps crashing.

Terry Roth

Can't even start up Just says 'SD Card Tester has stopped'... no more details ...no other indication ... running 5.0.1...could that be it? test your apps before releasing them please

Donald Yip

Motorola Atrix4G GB 2.3.4 Works on Atrix4G (GB) non-rooted. My main complaint is that it takes up so much memory. Per Android OS information, SDCardTester takes up 25MB. Also, the app should make it apparent that you touch the right-most part of the directory to allow you to navigate to the SD-ext directory - rather I had to read it in one of the reviewer's comments to figure that out. Nonetheless, it works and gave me what I believe are accurate results.

Mike Chapman

Won't even open Note 4 - App won't even open, instead a popup box immediately appears stating that this app has force closed. Other sd card testing apps work fine. I recommend you install an app other than this one

A Google User

Great Tester! By far... It even tells you if your card might be fake! This is the best one and its reliable! It doesnt give different reading for the same card each n every time u test like SD TOOLS does!

Winston Wu

2 things this app doesn't explain There are 2 flaws with this app. One, it doesnt tell u what test file size to choose. Two, it doesn't tell u what path to choose to find the sd card. I have a path to /sdcard and /microSD with different storage capacities. Whats the difference? It's not explained.

Remy Virgo

Great product, if you're running below Android 4.4 It crashes on start, I suspect because of that update stopping apps from writing to the SD card. But it was a good app!

A Google User

Who do I make the check out to?!!! This is a: PASS Other more popular tools received a: FAIL Verified results on multiple devices/computers using several different software tools! This is the first one to work where I needed to know for sure - everything is copasetic. Big-Time Thanks!

Travis Sanders

this app found my fake SD card I have 10 SD cards. Brand name and no names. I tested all of them and found one of my ebay cards is fake, no wonder why it was under priced. it was supposed to be in class ten 32 gigabyte card but actually only 4 gigabyte class 2. this app is awesome!

Shaye Brown

Failed to even launch! Every time I tried to even open it, the app crashed! I'm using a galaxy s5 and it simply would not work.

sean turino

Crashes upon launch Tmobile Note 4 Don't waste your time. Galaxy Note 4 Tmobile it just instantly crashes.

Stanisław Chlebek

Wont even load Every time I open the app it crashes. Tried with 3 different devices. Dont waste your time downloading this junk.

Tom Kendall

Crashes my system What a piece of JUNK! Don't waste your time.

Ember Leona

card test bad but reformatted to 4 gb it works does my tablet need more data to accurately test 32gb cards? i have a 16gb tablet card and 32gb sd card failed at 7gb. i had to get windows enabler and run diskmgmt.msc to repartition to 4gb. card works great now. i will change to 5star if dev answers the question about testing cards larger than tablets free space. may be a bug when testing. is there a pc version? very slow when testing by usb using otg i suggest internal mount only.

B Wilks

outdated? last update = 2011. crashes immediately. unusable. looks like it was nice circa gingerbread.

joey Nono

Can't even start It crashes before it starts. Hopefully they will fix this.

Adrian Olaru
