Needs a couple things Works OK with a couple big flaws. First, I have used this many times and so far all the taxi drivers have had no issues. The biggest flaw is that you have the keep logging in. This is a huge pain in the back of a moving cab. I have never had to re log on even once with the other taxi app. Huge difference. Second, switching credit cards is awful. You have to unlink, switch and relink again. Huge pain for those who use taxis for both work and personal. Fix these and you'll have a good app. Thanks.

It works I would give this app five stars if there was a setting for the app to remember my email and password. Now I have to enter it every time, which makes just paying with a credit card faster than using the app.

Nick Hodulik

Setup process too long I just want to pay fast. Shouldn't take longer than a cab ride to setup.

Chad D

Pretty good Wish you could log in with a PIN or stay logged in. It's too bumpy to type in a long password in a cab!

Arnaldo J López

Login Every Time Really? When I'm looking to make things easier? Ah, no.

Roberto Omiccioli

Horrible It keeps failing with credit card authorization error. Frustrating

Jen Bonczar

Works pretty well Can sometimes take a little while to validate. Annoying that you have to type a number in a bit. Taxi cabs are pretty clueless about it, so they sometimes get a little upset. I like it though.

Corey Hodder

Prefer way2ride way2ride seems to notify the cabbie quicker and generally, they seem more aware of the app. I've had to wait a few minutes multiple times due to delays in notifying the cabbie, despite printing the receipt saying "Paid". However, I still pay with this or way2ride exclusively since every cab seems to be one or the other. Could be vastly improved with some simple driver education. Also, there should be an option to ensure I stay logged in (or at least remember my email). Its a pain to type email, pw and pin

Martin Holländer

App keeps disconnecting Great concept, but the app keeps disconnecting. It's still registered in the actual cab, but you can no longer see the connection in the app, and hence can't change tip etc.

Edward Olanow

Pretty mediocre Horrible GUI, slow pairing process, and the cabbies don't have a clue that I've paid after I get out of the cab. I always have to show them my phone and then point at 'their' screen up front to assure them that payment has been processed. Also, I can't stand that the credit card payment does bill as Ridelinq. Instead, it appears to show the name of the cab owner. When verifying my tax charges on the credit card site, I haven't a clue who's who. Wouldn't it be an easy fix to just preface the charge with Nyc Taxi or RidelinQ and then the cab owner's name? Nonetheless, I'll give the app 2 stars instead of 1 since at least the payment function works. However, I MUCH prefer Way2Ride and always hope for cabs with that service.

Alan Light

Works, but way2ride is much easier to use.

Scott Weiss

Works much better since update! Works great now, no more delay in getting info to driver. Only 4 stars because you have to enter a number as well as full username and password, the other vendor allows you to just tap you and security access through a PIN that can be quickly entered

Christopher Vinger

Pretend Way2Ride service The app functionality is inferior than Way2Ride service. You have to enter a code, so you might as well just swipe card. It doesn't even pair most times. Wish all cabs used Way2Ride cuz this is just a bad knockoff.

Rebecca Peters

Excellently efficient The modern way of payment. Saves time for both the driver and rider.

Chris D

Gets the job done but not great Works as advertised but less polished than some others. Big problem is once you link you can't change your tip amount depending on how the ride goes (without unlinking)

Peter Arnone

Has problems When using this app they charge you $100 on top of Ur cab fare. They refund the money a couple days later. But if u ride a cab a couple times a day, you can quickly take out a couple $1000 in a week. Its pretty lame, considering other apps in NYC do it much better. They fix their billing issues and I will be a happy customer. Until then, use sparingly.

Adam Friedland

Makes getting out of a cab painless I just used the app for the first time during a Friday east side rush hour. My name popped up on the screen as soon as I linked the app to the cab. Payment went through seamlessly. Should be on every taxi rider's phone.

Constantinos Michael

Poor cabbie education about this app Every time I used this app, the driver would be mystified. The last time I used the app, the screen crashed. The driver's screen said "payment by ridelinq" but he insisted that I hadn't pay. I told him I paid a number of times he manually changed it to cash or canceled the trip or something and demanded a cash payment. So, I ended up getting double charged. There's no obvious support number to rectify this mess. Never had any trouble with way2ride.

Artit Jirapatnakul

App works fine but cabbies don't know about it App works fine and does what it's supposed to do. However, after arguing with a cabbie for 10 mins that, yes, I the payment went through, he still made me pay cash because he didn't see whatever he was expecting. Won't use the app because I can't risk having to double pay.

Matthew Matystik

Does what it says. Clunky and dated looking. Have seen taxi consoles in NYC advertising Ridelinq for months but the app wasn't ready. Now that it's finally available, I wonder what took them so much time to code the thing. Sure it works okay, but it has crashed a few times, and jeez it's ugly as sin. These guys need to take some feature and design cues from Way2Ride, Uber and Hailio. It's also unfortunate that you can't hail a cab with the app, but I think that's a TLC limitation Finally, not sure cabbies know how the app works yet!

Daniel A. Mikhailov

Not quite as good as Way2Ride, but still great Would be nice to just tap and go like with Way2Ride but generally very useful app!

Richard Wagner

Simple and fast Used it for the first time, every thing went smooth, fast.I'll be using it again

Jen Sabo

Cabbies get angry every time Tonight a cabbie threatened to call the cops because he claimed we didn't pay despite a receipt on my phone stating the opposite and despite him printing out a receipt also saying the opposite. I always pray I get in a Way2Ride cab to avoid this. Please, please, please educate your cabbies.

Craig Sherman

Works as advertised, BUT.... ...and this is a big BUT. In NYC, I've been challenged by every cabbie after leaving vehicle, with them claiming that I didn't pay! One guy physically got out of the cab to confront me. Apparently there is a delay from when the transaction is complete and when they see that I paid. The screen in the back of the cab almost immediately states that I'm paid up, but the screen the cabbie sees is delayed. This needs to be addressed ASAP as it can be potentially dangerous for the rider if you get the wrong cab driver. Other apps I use like way2ride I don't have this problem and frankly, if way2ride was available in more cabs, I'd use it given the choice.

Steven Huang

Reasonably painless process. Will be much better if it doesn't require storing credit card information with the app, but rather use payment API such as google wallet.

Sunny Xi

Needs to allow more easy card switching.

Dan Rogers

Taxi payments have never been easier

Carl Campbell

Pictures? I don't think so! This app was great when it worked (maybe half the time) but I was already annoyed by how often it failed. I was also a little leary of giving them access to my contacts, but access to my phone's camera? What for? That's the last straw - it's uninstall time!

Asif Ahmed

Loved it. Gr8 app

Josh B.

OK, but annoying to always validate This works largely as advertised. The biggest flaw is that it's constantly asking you to validate my identity by sending me an sms. It's annoying, buy slows you down in a cab and creates an obnoxious extra step. I assume this is for "security", but even banks don't require constantly re-logging/validating like this.

Joshua Larson

Worked great until today. Now it keeps telling me to update the app before logging in. It doesn't show an update! I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still tells me to update. Fix this please...
