•) Cast YouTube videos to your TV
•) Browse and open local video and music files on your Raspberry Pi
•) Open playlists (m3u, pls) and play streams on your Raspberry Pi

You just need a Raspberry Pi with a running SSH-Server and the omxplayer. I only tested it with raspian, but there is no reason why it shouldn't work on other distributions.

•) Controllable via a seekbar
•) Hardware volume buttons
•) Support for multiple audio and subtitle(srt-format) streams

•) To cast YouTube videos to your Raspberry Pi just open the YouTube app and a video and choose "Share" → Raspicast.
•) To play streams just copy a playlist (m3u or pls format) to your android device and open the list via the app, or play the streams manually from the actionbar.

Raspberry Pi is a trademark of the Raspberry Pi Foundation

Awesome but missing a feature I would also like to cast movies from my phone to pi.

Not sure why YouTube videos are not working for me. Nevertheless quality app. Excellent ui and it works. Kudos to the developer.

One of the very few, most...... useful apps. Works great. Very thoughtful. Open source and more.

Must have! It would be a nice addition if it could remember the last folder of rpi. Thank you!

Nolan Johnson

Works great! Hoping for YouTube playlist support in a future update, but overall no problems and the app works flawlessly.

Very cool app! Btw, how to choose another audio stream? Update: thanks for the answer! 3 requests - can you add support for other videohosting sites with the help of the youtube-dl utility, ability to unmount external drives and play automatically next video/track? Bug found - commas in file name messes the file listing

Great App I love this app, it works very smoothly, the only thing I'm missing is being able to save my volume setting, because now I need to lower the. volume on my TV for my raspberry while all other devices are way softer. Also the new material theme looks great

Video playback This is the only app that has allowed me to playback video files off my RasPi-NAS. Much much much easier than installing an XBMC version of Raspbian! The only, slight, drawback is that the control is very sluggish if you have your RasPi doing anything else. That's not a fault of Raspicast but a built in processor constraint of the Pi. So, for quick Raspicast response make sure your Pi is doing nothing else!

Awesome Great app, very useful

Casting Casting local videos over http would certainly be worth the trouble of implementing it. This would be the only app capable of it ;)

Hunter Wesson

Works flawlessly The best and easiest way to play YouTube on your pi.
