The Newcastle Permanent Building Society (NPBS) Mobile App offers our members easy, fast, secure banking* on the go with the following features:

• Check account balances;
• View transaction listings (For the last 32 days);
• Transfer funds between your accounts;
• Transfer funds to existing third party accounts (to your daily limit);
• BPAY® payments to existing Billers (to the Billers maximum limit);
• BPAY View (summary information only); and
• Process a redraw on your home loan.

Business Members will also be able to initiate and authorise transactions from existing accounts on Internet Banking that require more than one signature (also referred to as 'many-to-sign authorisation').

In addition, you can also locate your nearest ATM and Branch, access our contact details and obtain other information about Mobile Banking.

Normal data, messaging and call charges apply. Please check with your mobile carrier or Internet Service Provider for details.

* You need to be registered for Internet Banking with Newcastle Permanent to have access to Mobile Banking.

Mobile Banking is just as secure as our Internet Banking service. As you would with your ATM PIN, remember to keep your Member Number and Access Code private.

    Security improvements and bug fixes.
    This Mobile Banking App (v1.4.1) is compatible with mobile devices running Android version 4.0 up to version 6.0

Really good app now. Some minor improvements would help. Number pad issues have been fixed which makes it much easier to log in. Well done. Minor thing is that the app ignores the orientation lock on Nexus 5. Possible feature addition would be to remember the login type. I will never need the business banking option, so it's one extra tap.

Really, really awesome. The new remember member number and numeric keypad for access code make this app great. One thing it needs to keep up with the competition is NFC function for the visa debit cards. I'd love to never have to carry a card around again.

Reasonable app. The major problem is the inability to see more than 2 transactions in your account - which is pretty useless.


Easy banking app on the go I find this an easy app to navigate and a handy tool to have when on the go. Well done just love this app.

Pretty Useless Really I wanted to go back and look at my banking/payments history, but because I hadn't accessed the account for a while, it wouldn't allow me to. I do have a Comm Bank account now but my NPBS act is still open, so surely I should still be able to view the transaction details?? Also, there simply is no comparison to the ease of banking technologies which are now available through the Comm Bank app, it's cutting edge banking technology and I would suggest that it's time NPBS caught up.

Great improvements The updates to the app are great. It doesn't crash all the time. The input type change for passwprds for the personal banking has been a great choice compared to the old alphnumeric input. The app is definitely more responsive, intuative and actually looks like a movile app rather than a website that is just using a wrapper

Lacks basic app features Needs to use numeric keypad for numeric only fields. Needs option to remember login details if user believes they have secure phone. Even needs shortcut to rating app! The app does not seem to offer anything over web browser. Why make app if not taking advantage of app capabilites.

Love the new style but.. When you're transferring money you cannot see the balance of the account, the text needs to be smaller. Also it would be good if we had a scramble or numerical code to enter the access code. Other than that works great!

Please fix glitch Every time you open the app it requests location services to find nearby ATMs, you can say no, but once you exit the app and go back in it crashes. Please give an option to keep location data permanently on/off

Looks good but.. Lacks too many functions such as ability to add a new payee, see more than a month of last transactions and why can't I move more than $2000 a day with VerifID in place?? Would also like to see a pin to log in and a phone tap and pay function like CUA's Redi2Pay.

Needs full functions of the website Those rating this 5 stars don't use all the features off the regular website. The app cannot add a new payee. At certain (early) times of the day mortgage and credit accounts are disabled and give the error message "this service not available". Cannot change the order that the accounts appear in, and if the 6th account just happens to be the one you use the most it means constant scrolling to 2nd account page. For my banking it's the webite thanks. Plus the scramblepad is more secure

Does what its designed to do... App works fine without any dramas. Although I agree with other comments that with the amount of time it took for NPBS to develope this app that it would have had more functions.

Needs work/updating on the plus side, it's better than Suncorp's first attempt, not as good or secure as ANZ's though. I do love the way it shows the closets ATMs o the front screen on start up. Lagging a bit behind the competition though..e.g: Can only pay existing billers, cannot add new ones. The more I use this app, the more lacking I'm finding it to be in comparison to other banks' apps

Pretty good app Handy app to have on the phone. The only suggestions would be to be able to add new billers and payees, and to be able to access outstanding amounts payable on loans like you can on the full website. Overall pretty good.

Member number lost No matter how many times i have clicked save member number its constantly lost. Its also.not user friendly if u press home it automatically logs u out. Very frustrating esp. when coming from a big 4 bank with their apps

Mediocre Cannot future date payments if a bill is due at the end of the month. Also it never remembers your member number despite appearing to have the functionality. If the functionality isnt there get rid of the tick box because it is just ticking US off.

The app is fine to use but really annoying you can't add new payees unless your at a computer. I'm using my mobile for a reason so that function would be really appreciated and then I would rate it higher

Not user friendly at all Download app is same as logging in through mobile website - rubbish. The order of my account list is different which I can't change, it won't let me add or delete a payee or future date a transfer or BPay payment. Can't even click to see the due date or how much my credit card monthly bill is. I've emailed NPBS to the enquiries email address as on the app, just like on the mobile site, you can't send a personal message either - no one has responded 2 days later yet either.

A bit pointless Not having the ability to add a bpay biller or change the reference on an existing one is stupid. And lose verifid PLEASE. Not all of us live in mobile range or have a landline.

Probably the worst moblie banking app Evertime I click on the member number it deletes it. I also hate how I dont have the option to view my member number. Also, it is so hard to add a payee on the mobile app.

It's ok not the best Why isn't there a desktop view anymore? It would be nice to have all the details like you have on a desktop which shows you how much in credit you are and the repayments etc

Not very useful You can't do very much with this app at all. You can't pay bills or Transfer money to other people as there is no option to add them to your list. This is main reason I wanted to use this app. Also to look at transaction history it only goes back a month or so. App pretty useless
