NeyetLight (pronounced like night-light) simulates changing the color temperature and changes the brightness of your Android device's display automatically based on the time of day. This allows the light output from the screen to mimic a more natural light cycle and extend your battery life. By doing so NeyetLight can help reduce the strain on your eyes and it has been suggested that this more natural light exposure can help with your sleep cycle. NeyetLight can even use your location to automatically determine the time for sunrise and sunset. Stop straining to look at your Android at night and give NeyetLight a try today!

- Simulates changing the screen's color temperature to mimic organic lighting
- Intensity of color temperature effect can be tuned to your preferences
- Use your GPS or network location to determine sunrise/sunset
- Provide extra dimming beyond the built in brightness control
- Transition time between day and night settings is user configurable
- A new light icon option for the persistent notification
- A new option that let's NeyetLight work with automatic brightness control

When is somebody going get it right??? This app crashes on my Motorola Photon Q constantly I have tried all that I know how to do to try and keep it from crashing including emailing the dev but he has not figured it out. Guess I move on and chalk it up as a lesson learned... :( 0 stars!!!

John Landon

Great.. Great app.. my only gripe is GPS issues but this may be my phone.. highly recommended despite this!

Save your money If you came here hoping to find a mobile version of f.lux, don't bother. Not only doe this one costs money but it's a vastly inferior and poorly made "alternative". The default settings are gonna turn your screen in to an orange slate, making it impossible to use. It will allso lock up you dynamic brightness if you have it enabled and will lock out other apps from changing it, i.e. readers won't be able to dim the lights. And if all that is not convincing enough - the auto color change does not work.

Redshift {Eliminates blue light at night, which in theory helps circadian rhythm. An alternative to sleep monitoring apps and sleep studies...}

Heidi Hickman

Great app lost a feature. I recently had to factory reset my LG Optimus G, and it updated something in the OS that is making the sunrise and sunset transitions take one second instead of multiple minutes. It's really jarring. Could y'all look into that?

A Google User

Disables automatic brightness Sometimes when I stop service it disables automatic brightness and put it to max - Htc desire z. Never happened on motorola milestone UI not coresponding with >ICS

App is great does what it says. Just may take a little tweaking to fit you eyes.

A Google User

Great App. Easy install and setup.Works great and I think does improve sleep.

A Google User

Not bad at all Does what it's supposed to do, just wish for more functionality and less battery consumption

A Google User

Ok The app works ok, but the battery usage is excessive and I've been forced to switch to Screen Filter.

NeyetLight Good app. Makes the screen much easier on the eyes at night. Stops me being able to click the "install" bottom when installing .apk files! Have to temporarily disable it to enable apks to install.

John Kramer

You have to disable this to install 3rd party apps Was this intentional? Now it is starting to break other apps including an ir remote control app. I have to disable neyetlight to get that app to work. It used to be good, but I can't recommend this anymore and the developer is pretty unresponsive.

Nice support The support team answered fast and offered right solution for me! The app works fine! Even though the whole solution looks like there is a semi-transparent overlay on your screen (which causes degradation in contrast) instead of just the adjustment of the color-temperature, what i was looking for on the first place (and which wouldn't erode contrast), this is still seem to be the right choice among many of similar solutions.

Good app Still a few kinks but good app

adam kittel

Excellent This is just what's needed for looking at your phone at night

A Google User

Works In the absence of flux for android this is a great alternative.

A Google User

Awesome Its good, but needs a better UI and performance

Andrew Close

One of a kind. It's hard to not give it 5 stars when it's the only one if it's kind that I can find. Only complaint is that it's hard to find and on the bigger brighter screens I wish it would dim them more.

Joe DeVenuto

Works well Serves its purpose well as a customizable natural light emulator, I'm very satisfied with it

C Erler

Makes installing apps impossible While it's turned on, you can't click the install button for new apps.

Amy Addis

Does what it says Does exactly what it says, and is easy to switch on and off vis the notifications bar. Does it help my insomnia? It can't hurt....

Christine Imgrund

Does what it's supposed to do... which is to delete the blue light from the screen at night, when I should be sleeping, but I am not.

Riaan Ahmed

Great app The extra dimming feature is my favorite. It's a fantastic app for what it is.

Danielle Gilmore

Love it Keeps my eyes happy at night when I'm looking at my phone.

Laina Lime

Great app I really enjoy that it changes automatically :) and it's so much easier to look at my phone in the dark.

A Google User

Issue with screen flickering however.

Thomas Treffry

Fantastic. Greatest app ever after sundown

Aeon Maria Sofia Roa

Very good app

Tim West

Works perfectly on multiple devices Works perfectly on multiple devices

Allan Graves

Does what it claimed.

blackwatch plaid More of a brown overlay than an actual tint filter like f.lux on my IPS Nook Color, and it interferes with video playback (no picture on YouTube and many Flash videos or video refuses to play at all). Also the Install button for any app refuses to work in the Amazon Appstore. All of these problems are instantly remedied by disabling NeyetLight. Otherwise the app works well enough for nighttime reading and surfing. Blue light is cut and I can go below the minimum brightness setting when needed. I'd complain about automatic sunrise/set settings, but I live in a place where cloudly skies dominate the winters: so I just leave it running constantly.

A Google User

Not worth it, lacking too many features. This was the first app I bought as I have been desperately searching ways to help my insomnia. There are some other color tint apps on here but you can't time them, I think. I really wish the author had a trial version before I wasted my time and money. First of all, it doesn't start on boot. This is very, very annoying. There are hacky ways to get around this I'm sure but it's too much trouble. Also, i tend to stay away from apps that won't let you disable the status bar notification. It's just a bad coding practice done I guess to keep the app from getting killed by the system when the notification has no information to offer and wastes space on your notification bar. It also messes with the brightness control on the rest of your phone which was just too much for me since I'd have to go into the app and manually adjust it during the day. And really, it's a no brainer to grab real sunrise/sunset times from your location. Setting it manually is pretty ridiculous.

A Google User

Dimming better than colour This thing needs a lot of tweaking, but the main win is turning on 'extra dimming', which can make the screen very dim indeed. Colour helps but is more of a muddy overlay than true temp change.

A Google User

If you are looking for an f.lux android app, this is it. It does not automatically adjust the times though. It would be nice as a Latitude plugin.

A Google User

Flux like app I got this because I saw similar app for computer on the Dr's tv show. I applied ap to computer then phone. This app takes some tweeking to get just the right color u want. I wish app would re start after turning off phone. I play words withfriends B4 bed and it is easier on my eyes. I have found it also it easier to read in day due to slight color and filter on screen. I don' use youtube, so not sure if it is true you have to shut it off~Samsung instinct

Thomas Perkins

This app seems to work well in my BlackBerry Priv it's not hard to understand or use some of these other people don't know how to use this app, theoretically it should help extend battery life greatly. ?

A Google User

This does not work like f.lux This one does not work like f.lux or redshift. At least not on O-LED screens. It creates a very bad looking orange tints, but definitely not similar to f.lux does. On f.lux, blacks are black for example. On this one, blacks are orange as well.

A Google User

5 stars! This is an essential app for me. Its superior to flu.x as it allows you to manipulate the color temperature to even darker levels
