Bush fires are a part of living in Australia. That’s why you need to make a Bush Fire Survival Plan. MyFirePlan from the NSW RFS will help you prepare your home and family for bush fires.

Prepare yourself and your home for a bush fire in NSW by completing your Bush Fire Survival Plan now. Your Plan can help stop you from making rushed and dangerous decisions at the last moment and provides information on how to better prepare for bush fire.

This application will guide you through the steps necessary to prepare your Bush Fire Survival Plan.

The NSW Rural Fire Service encourages you to complete your plan with your family, so everyone knows what they will do if a fire starts.

Sometimes, no matter how well prepared you are, things don’t go to plan. That’s why, whether you plan to Leave Early or Stay and Defend, you need a back-up plan.

Planning to make a plan is not a plan.

Within the application you can:
• Create a profile
• Understand the fire risk in your area of NSW
• Prepare your family with emergency contact numbers and an Emergency Survival Kit
• Save emergency contact numbers to your phone
• Prepare your property by completing a check list of tasks relevant to your home
• Create your personalised Leave Early Plan by deciding where you’ll go, what you’ll take and what your triggers will be to leave
• Create your Stay and Defend Plan by deciding what tasks you will complete when a fire is approaching your home and during a fire.
• Decide on back up routes, place of last resort and what you’ll do if it’s too late to leave in your Back Up Plan
• Get live Fire Danger Ratings for your area

Really useful and well designed app. Having just been through the Springwood fire I was really glad I'd made a bush fire survival plan. It made making decisions easy and helped me to keep my family safe. This app is that plan made 1000 times easier. Bloody brilliant. Well done .

Michael Starkey

Good app The email link to send the plan isn't working, I can only email part of it. Having a printout in the house would be very handy for others. Otherwise it's brilliant!

Jim Green

Fire plan A very useful app that should be a must for EVERY household not just the bush.

My Fire Plan Awesome App, will announce this app to lots of people. Thankyou NSW RFS

malcolm macarthur

Really good, but... This would be better if it came with a widget that allowed you to get warnings, such as an increase to the fire danger level or road closures. Otherwise, really good.

James Andrew

Excellent tool A great way to make the bush fire survival plan easy to access and fill in. You can have it in your pocket and fill it it when going to new places. Well done team.

Todd Singleton

Should be mandatory Perfect, especially if you are new to the bush.

Belinda Hill

Easy to use I have been meaning to do a fire plan for a while. This app is so easy & I am glad I have finally done my plan.

Matt Green

Great stuff! Just in time for the public too.

Handy Planning to make a plan is not a plan!

Benjamin Archer

Superb This is an excellent app, and one that all NSW residents near the bush should use. As a serving member of the RFS this will make our role assisting the public to build a plan significantly easier and more fun.

Massive Battery Consumption Uninstalled because it was destroying my battery life

Fantastic applet, intuitive to use. Two feedbacks a) If you accidentally add a contact to "Other People to Call", there is no option to undo this - when you meant to click on the next contact in your mobile phone's contacts list. Can this option be included in next version? b) How do I print the contents of My Fire Plan to hang on the fridge OR be able to "share" my prepared plan into email/doc for my immediate family members?
