Mapillary is a service for crowdsourcing street level photos, panoramas and anything you want to see covered using your phone.

This app lets you:

- take photos and upload them to the Mapillary service
- find areas with photos, view them and navigate on your phone
- map your neighborhood, holiday spot or country house from a bike, car, or walking
- create a photo view experience anywhere
- share map links with your friends

We are trying to test the app against as many devices as we can. If you experience any problems, please let us know and we will work to support your device. The Mapillary app
- will stop at 10% battery and 90% used storage
- upload images in the background when you get onto WiFi to save your data plan

The main features in the newer versions are:

* Upload is now multi-threaded and will use most of the bandwidth available on your phone, resulting in much faster uploads.
* The camera part is now saving images not in the main thread, but in the background, resulting in a much more fluent user experience and hopefully less stress on the phones resources.
* Big grids in the review sections have cached thumbnails of images, resulting in a better user experience with long sequences to review
* All feed, status and profile updates are now done in the background and not blocking the user interface.

* We have added a hot-button to get to the camera in a number of places
* The UI is cleaned up, and the main settings moved into a easy-to-access side drawer, and on to the full settings page.
* There is support for UI rotation for left-hand usage.
* We added a setting to lock the camera direction in forward mode, resulting in 100% correct camera angles when holding the camera forward while riding or walking. Try it out!
* We added auto-start of new sequences when a certain gap (default 300m) is detected in order to save the trouble of splitting them later in the web editor. Yay!
* There is now a low-resolution mode intended for mapping in remote areas, possibly uploading via cell connection.
* On older phones, even manual autofocus is now supported as a means of taking pictures both in single and sequence mode, giving you better outcomes.

* There is now deleting of whole sequences available
* Pictures can be reviewed in a tight grid while holding the phone in portrait mode, a big grid in landscape mode, and a flip-view in detail mode. Clicking will get you into the system image viewer for easy sharing and saving to some other storage location.
* Images are sorted newest-first or oldest-first, and uploaded in that chosen order, too.

Notifications and Profile
* You now can swipe to refresh your feed of notifications, where we will enable more and more features as we build it out.
* The profile is now listing your recent sequences and stats.

Expert mode
* We introduced a lot of new settings to switch off/on different modes of pausing, warnings and checks to cater for all the expert users out there.

Graphics and Layout
* We now have changed to Material Design and will continue to work in that direction.

Slightly buggy sometimes

camera crash + battery drain? Oops - during panorama mapillary crashed. the camera connection was lost causing all other camera apps failing to connect to it. After that a beast called mm-camera-daemon began draining the battery turning the phone into a pocket warmer. please fix! btw: Who owns the uploaded pictures? Will they remain in public access? More stars after more clear statements about this.

The Best!!" I love this project

New and unique..... Let's say you want to see more off a place you want to visit. This app will let you do this. Its beyond Google street. You could details, real specifics of a place. Potential is enormous.

Кирилл Сетдеков

Please let is hide a "not uploading" notification permanently if background upload is not activated.

Vladimir Kokin

It crashes on start After first start and entering login/password it now crashes every time I start it

steve yarnall

Markus Birth

Dominic Jakob Keller

Nexus 5x photos inverted, does not capture sequences STILL all Nexus 5x images inverted (search for the API issue guys) and only generates one image sequences. Does not capture 2S with green GPS lock, no shake, no tilt. Pointless.

waiting for (better) location Fix Error display app not working

Love the idea But when I try to log in the screen freezes and I get a toast coming up saying attempting to read from null array. Seems to be in a loop.

Jyoti Kalra

Love the Idea!!

Edoardo Neerhut

This is a game changer.

Felix Grebubs

Great idea See what happens in the future.

Chris Campbell

Attempt to read from null array

Henrik Bøjer Christensen

Great idea But the app need some stability improvements. "Locks up" when navigating in the explore section. No intuitive way to exit a mapped route but to exit the app completely.

Brett Beeching

Tons of crashes I've had this app for a day. It has already crashed 4 times. Att note 3.

Will Skora

Great concept, well executed I love the idea and given phones' weaker hardware compared to large professional surveying gear, it does a great job. All of its limitations result from hardware issues that affect all smart phones (GPS is only 5-10m accurate; more powerful lens to draw more light in pictures; more image stabilization needed). I've been using the app for over a year and it's become much more stable.

Bad Not able to download on lollipop's waiting for network even it has full network...please fix it

Great Very useful.

ALL Nexus 5x photos inverted for 3 months! STILL all Nexus 5x images inverted >3 months after bug reports. Please refactor the camera API as a busy OSM contributor is stymied by this!

Edoardo Neerhut

Practical, fun and simple to use. The most immersive way to share the world around you.

Iurii Rudyi

GPS is working now (in new app version). Thanks, good job and nice app!

Sami Farin

Gps GPS error 699.999 m in Mapillary, 3 m in other apps. Android 6.

It is useless on my Nexus 5x, pictures are uploaded upside down. All pictures taken on my Nexus 5X are upside down.

Akram Shehadi

GPS can't fix on a location Error is always >15.0 even though other apps use the GPS fine. Also need the option to bulk delete photos in the sequences menu. I have a lot of useless pictures and it's a pain to delete them 1 by 1.

Eduards Bērziņš

Where are the filters to choose if I want to use my pictures? And by the year... Newest first and so on?

Feature rich and Simple to use! Love the idea and execution. Many opportunities for products to build on top of Mapillary

Vladimir Shapranov

Time to test it :) Thanks for support, login works now. Leaved "neutral" 4 stars for now.

Can't use device camera - Moto X (2014) Great idea, but I tried to use it on my phone without success. The app could not access my camera, which kind of renders it useless. I like the service, though--I can upload geotagged photos acquired with other apps.

Laszlo Markert

What's this? I pressed browse in the app (after spending 5 minutes to log in with Facebook - not working), and the mapillary homepage is loaded... Is this a real app, or should I wait for it?
