LectureNotes is an Android app for note-taking by handwriting on the screen, in particular with a stylus.
It has been designed while having a user at university (or at school) in mind, for instance a lecturer who is using it for preparing her/his lecture or even for actual teaching (by writing on the device and projecting the screen content for the audience) or a student who is using it for taking handwritten notes during a lecture. However, it has found many users outside university, for instance businesspersons who use it for business notes and sales presentations or artists who use it to create sketches and drawings.
Its major target devices are tablets with Android 3.0 or later (it is developed on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with an S-pen, and an Asus Nexus 7, a Samsung Nexus 10, an Amazon Kindle Fire HD, and an Asus MeMO Pad with an Adonit Jot Pro and a Wacom Bamboo stylus). The basic functionality works on all devices with Android 3.0 or later, but some which are hardware-dependent such as pressure sensitivity might not.
NOTE: There is a free trial version to test if the app is right for you. The free trial version is fully functional with the exception that the number of notebooks is constrained to two, with no more than eight pages per notebook.
We would love to hear from you, please send feedback and feature requests to us by email (devel [a] acadoid.com). If you encounter a problem with the app, please email us and we will do our very best to fix it quickly.
* requires only minimal permissions and no internet connection (we do respect your privacy!)
* allows multiple pages to be simultaneously visible on the screen (i.e. continuous page view)
* allows smooth writing, typing, scrolling, and zooming
* multiple layers in notebook pages
* image and image set import into notebook (including image import directly from camera)
* single- and multi-page PDF import (requires PDFView to be installed)
* notebook export as compressed PDF
* notebook export to Evernote (requires Evernote app to be installed)
* notebook export to OneNote (requires OneNote app to be installed)
* audio recording and replay (requires LectureRecordings to be installed)
* video recording and replay (requires LectureVideos to be installed)

* sharing and import of notebook pages
* keyword attachment to notebook pages and automatic indexing
* insertion, deletion, and rearrangement of notebook pages
* sharing and import of notebooks
* organization of notebooks in folders
* backup and restore of notebooks board
Possible issue: For certain functionality, the app requires other apps to be installed: Notebook and folder import, notebooks board restore, and image set import require a file manager app to be installed; image import directly from camera requires a camera app to be installed; PDF import requires a file manager app and PDFView to be installed; export to Evernote requires the Evernote app to be installed; export to OneNote requires the OneNote app to be installed.
* several minor improvements
* general purpose export added
* image import improved
* undo/redo buttons added to input zone
* safe zone improved
* more time stamp variants for notebook and folder name, for the text layer, for the text drawing tool, and as keyword added
* export to Evernote and to OneNote improved

Acadoid Developer part of our Productivity and have average installs from 50000 to 100000. Last Update Aug. 20, 2016. Google play rating is 94.7582. Current verison is 2.7.5. Actual size 7.2 MB.
Great app! Still needs to have automatic sync between devices. Would be nice with more paper templates, such as a templates for meeting memos with fields for attendees/date&time/location/notes etc. Perhaps day and week planning templates too, and why not a to do checklist type of template... If there would be a selectable option to smooth out my sloppy handwriting, I would be glad to pay for such additions
Best note taking app Have been using this for 2 years now and foind nothing that compares. It keeps getting better and better and if you have queries, the team is extremely helpful. Simply love it!
Amazing app Update: this app is getting slow with new updates. I have a GN4, and it is chunky. Also, is this how things will always go? We have to pay for all new features? No thanks. I used to be a huge fan. App is STILL ugly and pens look like crap. Edited Original: My galaxy note is now used for what I bought it for. This app allows you to use your device in a very natural way. Developer is incredibly responsive to feature suggestions. This app is VERY stable.
How to open the onenote exported notebooks ? How to open the onenote exported notebooks ? It 's just add the png files in the notebook directory. Is it possible to view the whole notebook in onenote, instead of insert the pictures to Onenote ?
Great app The upside to this app as compared to, say, the Snote (on the Galaxy note 10.1) is its high degree of customizability. I use this to do a *lot* of writing, and it works great!
Takes Notes & More I've tried several similar apps, and even paid for a couple. This one is my favorite.
Amazing Full of features, although not as beautiful as bamboo paper. Totally wort it
My new favorite Great App, with lots of options available. The most complete note taking app I've found so far. It takes a while to learn all the features the app offers but its well worth the time. Some improvements I would suggest are: 1. Be able to edit PDFs directly (not just import a picture of each page) 2. Be able to export automatically to evernote any update on a note previously synced. (So I don't end up with multiple copies of the same note each time I manually sync it) 3. Improve the audio recording add-on to have more control over the quality and format of the recordings
Fantastic App, Even Better Support This app is perfect for creating lectures and uploading them for students to view as videos and it is also great for general note taking. Everything is customisable and any questions or support needed is quickly and promptly addressed by the developers. Well put together, I highly recommend this app. Thank You!
Too Perfect I love how i can use multitasking on my tablet!! Could you guys also allow me to make just notes that without having to put them in a notebook, that would be helpful. This app is amazing, my word you guys have done a great job. It is so customisable. At first it looked very overwhelming but once you get used to it you will realise that all the features come so in handy especially for math students and the like. I am very satisfied with my purchase, this app combines everything i need in a note taking app wow! Keep up the good work. I look forward to more
An Outstanding Note Taking and Organizational App. After trying out seven other Apps to take notes this is by far the best out there. I primarily use this for work on my Samsung Note 10.1, but with my personal life as well. With this one app I can take notes, create schedules, and easily import images, PDFs, use multiple layers all in one. The ability to quickly create and categorize notebooks makes for an outstanding organizer. The ability to export any of these notebooks, is just icing on the cake. Above all else, it is very well integrated with using the S pen. If you are looking for an outstanding note app for your tablet, you have just found the best out there.
Just amazing! Best app I've ever purchased. This turns my galaxy note 10.1 into an incredible life changing device. I no longer carry books, pen or paper to class. Just my note. Thank u lecture notes! If I ever met the dev in person I would definitely buy him a beer! Helpful and responsive. Great job!
Love this app! ? Very useful. I use it to take notes in class. I admit it does take a long time to customize it the way you want and to discover all the possible features, but once you get past that, it works amazingly. As a side note, I wish Cloud Syncing could somehow be enhanced. Like automatically syncing within the app, instead of relying on a third party app.
Most used app for over 2 years I use this app every day at work. I think I've tried all note taking apps and this is by far my favorite.
Amazing (update 2015) I've been using this product for over 1.5 years now and it continues to be one of my favorite apps of all times. They constantly make it better and it never disappoints. If you're a student or a teacher, this app is a must have.
Good stuff Needs a cosmetic remodel, and controls/customizations are a little difficult to navigate sometimes, but this note-taking app is absolutely stellar. Printing from an exported PDF copy of my notes is very clear and as good as OneNote in my opinion. Worth the money to buy this app if you're a paperless kind of person. This app is even more valuable if your device has a digitizing stylus.
Currently using a Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 and this app works great on the device. The only real complaint I have is in regards to the palm rejection as I tend to leave unintentional scribbles when my palm touches the screen occasionally. Other than that, really enjoy using the app!
Just Amazing The only note which serves all purpose.
Great for college I am new to taking college notes digitally and so far it's been great - especially with this app as it runs smoothly on my galaxy note 10.1 2012 ed. However one issue I currently have is in transferring my notes from the trial version. My dropbox is currently full, so I don't know any other way to transfer, them. Please help!
Great Very well planned note app. Has a lot of features that you can set up for your own usage instead of how they think you might want it.
Great This is the greatest I've seen. A plethora of options and useful, versatile functionality.Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Great app! I now use it for writing lecture notes on Samsung note pro (previously on Motorola Xoom) and it works great.
import pdf or annotate pdf? very slow to import 200 hundered pages of pdf. Suggestion: It would be very nice if the software could annotate pdf files directly without changing them to image and reducing the quality. With features of Input Zone and S Pen and the most importing one, adding a page in between.
Great app! Very easy to use and light weight.
Best note taking app! Still waiting for edit PDF without import to .png first. But overall, this is the best note taking.
If at all possible... How about a handwriting search, like the one S Note has with S finder?
WOW WHAT AN APP! The more I use this, the better it gets! Definitely a learning curve, but worth it. Awesome for students or professionals!
Nice Very good app.
Just what needed On Samsung Galaxy tab it's perfect. Just wish it allowed me to add an image to the notebook cover like S note does
Best Note Taking App Because of this app, I am able to take all of my class notes using my tablet . No other apps allow me to conveniently take math-intensive notes. I can also easily upload pdf's of my notes to Dropbox and email to friends. However, if you ARE interested in getting a tablet for note-taking purposes, I highly recommend choosing one with an active stylus.
Amazing app. Completely changed my workflow.
This is still my most useful and used app I never take pen and paper to meetings or seminars any more, there is just no need to. I can make a journal of my thoughts, a quick note or letter, even draw out an idea. If I can do it on a note pad, I can do it here. Constant updates and improvements. It just gets better and better.
Best substitute for s-note This app just gave my samsung a new life
Good app, but Developer opinion about cloud sync is wrong. It is very inconvenient to use external service if you use 2 devices all time. You have to remember about syncing before writing anything. Sync should be done seamlessly (like evernote). The same about settings backup.
Good, but... Keyboard input is really slow, and autobackup to cloud function is need. Android 4.4.4, Acer A500, Tegra 2.
More or less The app has many settings which can be set. Despite its functionality, the app can't save my notes somewhere safe (Dropbox, Google Drive, e.g.), but only manually on SD card. I have already faced situations when I almost lost notes because of tablet's malfunction. And I barely can use keyboard, because such typing is too slow. Therefore I have been forced to find different app. It's a pity.
Please add russian language
Add Russian, please.
Well done. Thoroughly thought through piece of software. Thank you,
The best Please, add russian!!! Add Russian!!!!!!!
Please add Formula recognition... But even without the formula recognition it is still a great app. Very powerfull in combination with any Cloudsync app and pdf editor. I am still using other shipped or specialized note taking/drawing apps from time to time in combination, but LN is my main "paper replacement" i use in lectures. Especially to handle and organize a big amount of sheets. The Evernote export is very usefull here.
Very!!! Thaks for app. It best app for a learning and writing a conspect. I'm very like it. I need a russian language. However, I am used to English language. I wait, when you will add it. Maybe, you need a help? Do you want, i can try it, if i will have a free time ...
Очень полезное приложение! Add please RUS in Settings!
Zx-m The best apps! For tablet with pen "must have".
Great, but terrible defaults. This app does almost everything I want, but a fresh install is near to useless. All of the stuff I consider important - like line smoothing and logarithmic pen sizes, tightly-spaced icons, page sizes, menu sizes, they're -all- wrong. This means the first time you try it things extend off the screen, menus are half missing, menu icons scroll off the screen with huge amounts of wasted whitespace, the stylus isn't detected, pens are WAY too small, and resizing is nigh uncontrollable. All of these things can be fixed, but why do I have to do all this research, fiddling around and doing the dev's work? Lecture Notes is better than any other note taking app, but you wouldn't know it until you fix it yourself.
Odd yet Happy review The app was purchased accidentally due some rubble installing and teenagers who should not be playing on the app store. I had asked for a refund and the developer got back to me imediatly but for some reason Google play did not refund me. Not the devs fault. Since it was obvious I was going to own the app, like it or not, I started playing with it a bit. Now mind you, I have been using the full version of incredible which is just that but it lacks the immense customization that Lecture notes has. I'm slowly being converted. I would love to see more pen types. Such as incredible has. The fountain pen makes your writing so elegant looking. But as far as versatility and usability I am actually glad I didn't get refunded. I'm heading back to university this fall and I think this may be my go to notebook app. Good job dev. Thanks for the hard work.
Love it... Enough to write this update This app is (IMO) THE best app in its class. However, it is / can be a bit overwhelming when you're first get started. Don't sweat it, I'd suggest hitting up YouTube and watching some videos to familiarize yourself. It does get easier with time and use; the benefits are TOTALLY worth it!!! I've used it on my Note 3 and it was great, but it REALLY Shines on my Note 10.1 (2014)!!!!!!! Don't hesitate if you're on the fence, it is definitely worth every cent! It only gets better with each update.
I use this ALL the time This is an awesome app! I use this for every class. It's very versitile. I love the use of layers which is an awesome way to test yourslef by hiding the answers in a layer. I like the autosave, but I don't like that it lags as it saves. I would like to see some updates done. I would want to be able to export specific pages via pdf. Right now it only allows to export only one page or the whole notebook. I would also like to see an update on being able to annotate my notes while listening to the recordings of Lecture Recording. Thanks so much for making this app!!
Quick developer's response I suggested an additional feature which the developer implemented immediately. Would rate ten stars!
Distinctive Icon Give it a try and you will be convinced that it worth the star ?
Ticked all the boxes It ticked all these boxes for me - easy to use, screen cast, OK cost, lots of helpful features.
The BEST note taking app I have. I use it on my Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) and it does what I need, and then some. It was a bit overwhelming at first use, but after a bit of playing around and familiarizing myself with it I can honestly say it is my "go-to" app for all writing. It seems like a simple notebook app on first glance, but don't let that fool you. It is very in depth and has a ton of useful features that other apps I've tried don't have. From what I can tell you can pretty much customize every aspect of each notebook and tool through the settings menu.
realy great app. Thanks for the reply ;)
I have used this a lot last year as a student. It is absolutely the best of its kind. I handwrite notes and this app probably saved a forest in the last year alone. It works great with ezpdf reader, it can take the snap shots from there so you can integrate excerpts from books or articles in your notes. Great use of pencils and palettes, it does more that you think at first sight and it seems the developer is on the ball and helpful. Recommended, if you need a note taking ago, this is it.
Excellent Been using it for well over a year and it is the best note taking app out there.
Split notebook set up? Will there be an option for viewing multiple split screen notebooks at once?
Cio James Great from start to finish once you have it customized.
Fantastic App! Lecture notes is great and with dropbox sync it synchronise error free accross my different devices!
Fantastic for whiteboard work I bought this to experiment with using an old galaxy note 10.1 as alternate input to a clunky interactive whiteboard in school. (I use chromecast or mobizen to project/mirror my screen). This app is nothing short of brilliant. It intuitively does what you want the way you want it done and every time I've thought "wouldn't it be great if I could do this?" it has turned out that I can. The most recent example being that I could turn the icon of saved notes into an image of the first page of those notes. This is the best android app I have ever bought. No question. If you want to make notes, buy it. If you want to project your work, buy it especially if you have a galaxy note. Perfect, perfect app.
Best Note Taking App! I searched for a good note taking app for my Samsung Note Tablet. OneNote was laggy, ezPDFReader was only good for editing pdf handouts, and many others couldn't fulfill my needs. This app is smooth, easy to navigate, and has many great features. The only downside for me is that it took me this long to find it!
Perfect Everything a student needs. Everything a professional needs. Everything an educator needs, if you install recordings and lecture video. Great functionality with the stylus pen, very clear writing resolution, different pencils and pens types, colors and thickness can be configured for ease of access. There is an icon for drawing basic shapes as well. There are also options for downloading entire pdfs, or specific pages, and writing on top of those for note taking in class. You can cut, edit, copy and erase easily. Replaces paper (in fact saves paper) Maybe this app should be up for the Nobel Peace prize... You can organize folders and notebooks..give them specific colors. Best app out there.
Excellent This is my second brain. Would like to see a magnified note feature like inkredible, and sync over multiple devices
A brilliant note-taking app, extremely versatile, with a natural feel and all the functions you could need. For me the only one and the best - I've been using it for years and never yet found anything to match it.
Best note taking app out there This app is the main reason I purchased my tablet with the s - pen. It just works, period.
Wow! Seriously impressive. It's rare I buy apps let alone leave feedback but this app is worth every penny and every star. A superb S-Note replacement which I missed very much when I started using custom roms. I tried a few others some of which were very good (nod to you Papyrus) but this beats all the competition rolled into one. I have minor quibbles like scrolling dialogue boxes in portrait mode but it's a small price to pay for all the functionality on offer. Highly recommended. Thanks devs :-)
Extremely slow! I'm sure it works for what it is intended to work for but PDF import was extremely slow (about 4sec/page). Also it could be a lot less complicated. Activating PDF import, or many other features, is a multi-step process. The settings, while highly customizable, are too much. I just wanted an app that would import lecture PDFs for note taking, similar to Notability on iOS. Thought this app would do it well. I regret paying for this.
Best App for School Just everything you need plus some!
Lecturenotes rocks for business I run a company and working with a Samsung Note tablet and now phone with LN has been a huge lift. Strongly recommend it. Pull in PDFs to annotate and export back out, completely eliminate paper, set up a page for random notes as a widget on home screen and many other helpful things work great.
Sony Xperia Z Ultra/ Samsung Note 4 Very customisable, intuitive and functional!! More functions added on and fine tune the layer function that is very helpful with pdf files. I almost use with pdf reviews exclusively! Nice job. Also superb customer service!!!!
Very useful i really Luke it: -)
Amazingly good Customizable yet easy to use. Adds enormously to the value of the s-pen.
Love it The best one of its kind.
Best APP for taking notes on android. Been using it for 2 years now. The ONLY PROBLEM I have with it, and it's so severe that I actually stopped using this app to take notes is an issue with the text layer. (the layer that lets you write text with a keyboard) The specific issue is that when you re-size text. Sometimes when you leave the notebook and reopen it your text will resize back to default values. This sometimes turns into a ALWAYS if you export the notebook then import it back into lecture notes. Re-sizing all your text back to what is was before can be a DAUNTING TASK when your notebook can have excess of 50+ pages.
There's nothing even close! I use this on my Note 3 and Note Pro 12. I live in it. It has completely replaced any paper that I used to have to use for note taking, designing, writing on documents and photographs, dimensioning etc. The one thing I wish is that my notebooks would automatically backup to the cloud. That aspect is a little convoluted but it doesn't take away from the app's extraordinary functionalities.
Working well for me so far taking electronic engineering lab notes on my Galaxy Note Pro. I really like being able to set the wide range of defaults as I want i.e. small fonts so I can get more on a page, cover colour - I have shades of green for active projects then can turn the red when completed. I can directly import PDFs, though I had to set the resolution higher to see the text on schematics, but at least that is now set as a default. Much more flexible than S Note where I found if I wanted Hi res PDFs I had to import them into Scrapbook first the import into S Note. I find LectureNotes much easier to use than S Notes. Some usage notes;- I tried the trial version first, liked it so bought the full version. It installs as a separate app, so I had to use a file manager to cut and paste the notebooks I had written into the full version directories, but I found that my settings did not transfer so I had to set them up again. Maybe I missed a file. Would be easier if the full version just upgraded the trial version as some apps do, but it is done now and the trial version uninstalled, so no biggy. OOps ran out of space!!
Powerful with lots of versatility I work a lot with pdf files and this application shines with pdf and note taking. Excellent support. Note 2 & 3 & 5 & 10.1. Ranks in the top 5 applications routinely used.
Daily driver I use this app every day, and it gets more user than any other tablet app. Would give it 6 stars if I could.
Excellent App I often uses my tablet to take notes and sign documents. This app is just what I've been looking for however I am disappointed with the grainy/pixeled look of the writing. Maybe it's a setting somewhere I don't know but the pen resolution seem to be quite low. On the other app I use the writing looks smooth no matter how far you zoom in. I would gladly give 5 stars if this is resolved.
What a PRIZE ! ! FIVE Stars ! Maybe nothing's perfect....but this app is way more than four-fifths perfect....and keeps getting better......Buy the paid version -- you'll never regret it.....Get the complenentary Lecture Recordings, and Lecture Videos too !
Simply the best! Until I managed to figure out how to use this app well, I didn't realize how good this app was. Simply this is the best note taking app.
Simply the best Quite simply the best there is, whether you want to keep shopping lists or write novels freehand. I have to buy it again though, as it appears that I bought mine somewhere other than the Play Store, I really don't remember where. I ran into difficulty when I tried to reinstall it recently. Beware!
Needs built in sync option I appreciate that there are "many options" for syncing and it would be difficult to incorporate them all. However I think it's obvious that there are a few dominate ones that would cover the majority of your clients: dropbox, Google drive, and maybe one drive. But really just the first two and I think you'd be done. Saying there are many so why bother is silly.
Very good but Is there any way to password protect some or all of the notes? Update. I am asking a simple question. Why do I have to write an email for this? Please answer and I will re-rate you 5 star
Best note taking app there is Lecture Notes is not afraid to offer users choice and control over every aspect of app operation. The only request I would have is to produce a vector-based version of the app.
Hands down best note-taking app for android. Great features, palm-rejection works swell, very versatile. Please make a desktop version that takes typed notes, images, audio and video, and syncs across devices and we will take over the world!
Very customizable I really like how customizable the app is. The settings menu can be a bit overwhelming and confusing, but I am happy to have the options in there. I'd recommend the developer make the settings more user friendly. I like how stable and dependable the app is, also.
Awesome I've tried both Evernote and Onenote. This is by far the best. If I can make a suggestion, to make it complete, I would develop a stand alone desktop sync utility. Dropsync is a clunky solution
Brilliant App... But Wasted! Such a fabulous productivity tool. Just fantastic and great support. However, I feel I am not getting the best out of it as it is very complicated to use and understand. Please simplify and consider ease of use. Keep up the great work.
One Small Issue, but Great Overall Fantastic app! I use it for most of my classes. My only issue is that I'd like to be able to type my notes (definitions, theorems, etc) and use the freehand capabilities to sketch graphs, charts, and characters the keyboard doesn't support. However, the text editing capabilities of this app leave much to be desired. I'd appreciate a more precise experience than font options of "larger" and "smaller," and similar to the drawing tool table a text-editing tool table. Keep up the amazing work!
Very good app, 5 star app. You can write and write as much as you want, add key words for easy lookup. Very good for what I do, and it's nothing to do with schooling. I have it all setup and using it, ... Cheers, Rocky (. Y .)
This is the real winner I've tried everything but this app is just miles ahead of the competition. With all the free extensions and exporting options, it's a no brainer. Just buy it
My entire life revolves around this app. Worth investing a little time to really learn all the features. Quick response from developer on all questions on XDA. Bravo.
Love it I have a Galaxy Tab pro 12.1 .... I use Lecture Notes for everything from work to home .. just wish there was back up .
Amazing!!! My production level improved 100x times this. I didn't think I would be able to find a match for notability on the iPad but this is leagues better.
Excellent LectureNotes is ON FLEEK! I tried the free trial as a replacement for my beloved SNote (Samsung) and fell in love!
Great for UNI! Easy to use, perfect for taking class notes and then saving them as PDF's. Highly recommend ?
Using this to annotate powerpoint slides (converted to pdf), as well as ordinary notes. Love it.
Brilliant innovation LectureVideos together with LectureNotes has made it possible for correspondence students to share solutions. I was hoping to see more educational institutions utilising this technology, because most math videos that are on YouTube today were created using those inferior apps which are way clumsy. LectureNotes is a new and most improved technology that meets the needs of ever mobile global community of today
If it could sync with OneNote or Evernote then it would be 5 stars. Material design would also be nice
Full Featured and Simple I have downloaded and tried many note taking options of varying costs and not only is this one of the cheaper options, but easily the most fully featured. The sheer scale of options available for each notebook and how you use the inputs is incredible and every feature is of use. If you need any note taking app, you need this one.
Good App I originally gave the app a 4 stars because I wanted a palm rest option that I thought it didn't have, but it does! It's called safe zone in the input options of the settings. In case some of you wanted to know. You will have to spend some time going through the settings to understand all the options, it's not super clear initially. Once you get the hang of it, it's a very useful app!
Love it but.... This app is great, but since my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 updated to Lollipop, I am unable to share a pdf directly to Lecture Notes to create a new notebook. It says, " security error, problem handling pdf file. " EDIT: This does not seem to occur for every pdf, which is odd.
Thank for allowing user to access app directory I was able to sync with dropsync thank to allowing access to app directory.cheers
Love this app Love the app its easy to use and customize would give it 5 stars if it would sync between devises.
Cool!! The best notes app ever, is like a real notebook with all the tools to take exact notes in class
Simply does it all I've tried them all....by far the best
Great app! Beat notebook app you can find!
Great note taking app Intuitive and flexible
Best note taking app in the play store.
Good App I really like the app. However, the main feature I want is the palm rejection, which its has, but now it won't work. I place my hand on the safe zone, but refuses to write with the stylus. If this can be fixed then I'll give it 5 stars again.
Really love it! The customization options are amazing. You can really adapt it 100% to your needs. Only one thing is missing, that I would love to have - the possibility to lock specific pages in the workbook that you're done with, and by doing that to protect their contents from unwanted accidental changes (and of course the possibility to unlock them if needed). The rest of it is perfect.
A Fantastic Note-taking Program By far the most amazing & yet simple to use note taking/study Program. The creator, Markus is super helpful even with basic questions & responds very fast! Been using for couple years. Wish I could learn all the Apps possibilities! Thanks again Markus!
Best App Use it for Galaxy Tab A with S Pen. I use it for all my lectures at University. No paper anymore. Never again. Only thing I take to University is the tablet. The app is great and makes life much more easier. More effective learning.
Love this app This app is the one of best application i ever had. Now i design to buy active stylus can you list me active stylus supporting list? Thankyou for your kindness
My go-to notetaker for over 3 years. Ultimately configurable, super flexible, incomparable value.
Great App. I use it heavily for college. The only thing that bothers me is that there is a 10 page limit when trying to export to Onenote. Along with not being able to move multiple notebooks at once to different folders.(I do this after a semester or when I am finished with a topic in class.)
Brilliant, As a student the ability to record and write notes and on playback have them correlated, makes revision so simple!
Great App! Does almost anything! Customer service is great!
Awesome! You can export you data, take notes, keep your pdf documents and even write your own book. Works great with Samsung Note 10.1 and recognizes S-pen. Great job!
UI Nightmare The UI needs an overhaul. I just wanted to import an PDF, write some notes into it and export it to PDF again. The expected 5 Minutes ended up in +1 hour nightmare till I got all settings right to get a proper PDF in the end. File Dialogs seems to be an unknown concept? Still trying to figure out the "default" path.
Great app! Great for all kinds of note taking especially when using a stylus to handwrite. The only problem I have had is that the size of your notebook gets big real quick and slows things down! Better than Evernote for sure!
Great but unfinished 1. Main problem : cannot store the to external card (refuses to change the App directory in the storage settings) , even though the newest android version that I have installed already allows App to do that. UPDATE: After I wrote support about this they promptly replied and the external card issue is fixed. Thanks. Wish list: Would love to see math input recognition ala snote. I know this is not an easy task but would make this App invaluable to me and my math students. Great job. Even though math support is still lagging I will update to five stars based on support!
Best note taking app and best dev. The best note taking app for android devices. All you got to do is to browse the options and see what fits for your device and your needs. All the options are just there. I am using it on my Nexus 9 and it is great. The dev, Markus, is very helpful and friendly. Hope he continues building some amazing apps like this one. Thanks.
One of the best apps for Galaxy Note Series A UI overhaul would be nice. I do appreciate a developer that focuses on functionality first though, so I won't complain.
Great app for notetaking in school This had been a huge help in school for me. Developer is still on top of updates too. It can be a little cumbersome at times, but there's enough settings to customize to your liking. Man I need an active stylus!
Amazing Dev! Having issues with new update. Markus responded almost immediately! Never had such a quick response from a dev!
Another great feature added Secondary fields in the text layer add a lot of possibilities for me.
Just like a physical note book! It is convenient.
Perfect for school, work and Personal LectureNotes consistently performs well. Just read the tutorials to customize and understand the platform a little better. My professors are amazed when I let them play around with it. They all want to know if it's available for Mac! HaHeHe?
Amazing ! A reason in itself to buy a tablet with a stylus. Robust, reliable and intuitive. I'm going paperless thanks to this application. Keep up the good work.
There are a few very good note-taking apps, and LectureNotes is among them. Clean interface and excellent "palm rejection" (absolutely unnecessary if you work with an active stylus). Very good for taking notes as undergraduate/graduate student. It is less friendly than OneNote, but sometimes you want to go away from the clutter of too many things and go to LectureNotes. Also, it is at the level of Papyrus/Squid. Very useful, very well crafted. Thank you.
Upgrade to V2.7 works Closes instantly I try to create a notebook on my Google Nexus 6P but seems to be working OK on my tablet (Samsung Tab S). As the Nexus is a new model hopefully it will be fixed soon. I hope it does as it looks as if it is what I've been looking for. [Edit] Now that everything is working as should am upgrading to 5 stars.
Not intuitive A good app but its not intuitive to use . I cannot or don't know how to copy from a pdf or word doc to lecturenotes. Also, when I try to video record something, the video stops several times without me realising. I don't know if it's possible to append two videos because so far,i've lost a lot of time without producing any results.
The best With detailed settings, it is a highly customisable note taking app. There are high quality notes, handwriting, toolbox and export support.
This app is amazing. It seems like most rave reviews here are from students actually taking lecture notes (go figure!), but I wanted to leave a review from a professional point of view. I'm an attorney and I got this app years ago so I wouldn't have to shuffle through a briefcase full of files everyday in court. I loved it. I've actually been teaching for the last few years and I'm getting ready to go back in to private practice, and the app is as good as ever. The ONLY downside to this app is that there are so many features and options that it might be a little intimidating for a casual user. I imagine that's probably the reason for anything less than a 5 star review. If that applies to you, stick with Google Keep, Squid, or even Evernote, because this is over-kill for making a shopping list. But if you have a need for tons of detailed notes, you won't find anything better than LectureNotes. P.S. -- I'm using a Note 10.1 2014 edition.
Great app until it corrupted notebook I used lecture notes for all my note taking and as a general substitute for paper. I was very happy using it for about 1.5 years. Recently it corrupted 3-4 pages of one of my notebooks the day before my exam. I thought it was great until then. I will rate 5 stars if this gets resolved. I don't trust this app to keep my notes effectively anymore.
Still outstanding! This app should win all awards possible. It is fantastic. I still love this app! This app is a great replacement for taking paper notes. I make great use of this in meetings. This app keeps getting better and better. Can you believe I actually look forward to meetings now just to be able to use it!? I can't recommend it enough. Be patient with set up and make it work for you.
Thank you!! My tablet is now complete as my daytimer and more. I do like the pen behavior in Inkredible... if you ever add that touch, I'll give you a six out of five :-)
No instructions Can't figure this out. Need to get pdf. Downloaded pdf view but still don't see any option to import pdf. I'll rerate if I ever figure it out.
Needs an overhaul The app itself is fantastic - all features work really well, and keyboard support is stunning. However, it desperately needs a UI overhaul to make it more user friendly.
The best note taking App It is wonderful all the features that the App have, it makes incredibly smooth the writing and it is not necessary to have a profesional stylus. By reading the instructions of use, you will have the best experience on writing notes.
Use to be better This app was the best out there, it had everything you needed for writing your lectures. But recently I started to write slow, which means it write after you already moved the pen. It doesn't happen at the same time as it should. I started to use XODO which is not as good, but in that regard it's better. I already did with many emails, all suggestions were giving didn't help.
Absolutely Wonderful! I use Lecture Notes constantly, for all of my note-taking. It has totally replaced paper notebooks. The features, such as cut & paste, layering, and resizing revolutionize note-taking.
Excellent Great app and not only for using at lectures but it is brilliant for every day use. Can't recommend it highly enough
Amazing Absolutely brilliant app! After giving up on a note I needed a decent note taking app. This destroys all competition, fully customisable, I use it for all my note taking. Brilliant
Finally Most customizable note taking app with a lot of useful options
Have tried this on the Galaxy Note 10 and 12. Excellent highly configurable app for note taking. Much better than the pre-installed note taking app that ships with the device. Have contacted the developer a couple of times and he has been very kind to respond promptly.
Such a great app! So far, I have found the app to be an excellent, serviceable tool.
Best estate Notes App I'm loving this App.
I have tested most handwriting apps on the Play Store with my Onyx Boox M96, and this is the best. My most important criteria were: intuitive and efficient interface; key interface elements visible on black and white e-ink screen; acceptable lag when using the stylus; Aaility to rename notes; ability to search notes by filename; flexible sorting options; ability to back up my notes. LectureNotes covers these and much-much more: undo, copy-paste, visual rearrangement of pages, default file names with yyyy-mm-dd format, sharing aoptions, etc., etc., etc. . Excellent app and responsive developer, highly recommended!
Using it in university It have to be about 2 years since I started using this app. I love it :) it's a bit overwhelming to configure at the beginning, but fast learning curve. Samsung galaxy Note 10.1 with Stylus
Useful, great features, nice support. One thing that scrolling is painful for slide imports.
Very nice Application has got a lots of setting, ones you set up for your need, is super writing application.
The best handwriting app there is! No doubt about it. Onenote, Evernote, all other Note apps, can't hold a candle to this app. I use a Galaxy Note 10.1, 2014 edition, using a separate stylus for comfort. It's very responsive and completely adaptable. I'm a project manager who has to take copious notes and minutes of meetings. Lecture Notes makes it all so simple. Try it yourself and prove me wrong, if you can! ?. Just a shame it's not multi platform as I would love this on my Surface Pro 3 as well. Great job guys. Keep up the good work.
Great Support Desk Too There is very quick responses by email
Best handwriting app so far I am a Lecturenote user since 2012. This app is very usable and a must have if you have a tablet or phone with pen. I used it in the university for making my notes. Exporting and importing functions are the best. I used it to import teachers' PDF notes and making my notes on the PDF's during the courses. The support of the app is also very outstanding. It is very recommended and it is worth the buying.
this app is great This app is great for organizing your different work and projects highly recomended for college students.
THE note taking app in Android with stylus input
Great app I am a PhD student and this app has helped me keep great notes over the years
Closest to Notability I found for Android This app has all I need. Import and notation of PDF, zoom window to increase precision, free notes. Handwriting is not as neat as apps like bamboo for example but the other functionalities compensate for that.
Great for instructors. Great if you need to write equations or draw diagrams in your lectures. Consequently great for your students as well.
Liking it so far... I've been using this app for about a week now. I really like it so far. The palm rejection isn't the greatest ever, or I haven't figured it out yet, so I am holding onto a star. What I really like is the amount of settings that I can adjust. That in the end is what makes any good app phenomenal. The pen customizations are awesome. But, I don't like how the highlighter colors increase in intensity the more times you draw on the same spot. There should be an option to stop that from happening.
I love this app and I recommend it to everyone I know looking for a good handwriting app to use with S pen. I've used this app religiously for the past 4 semesters in college, and it keeps up perfectly. It's highly customizable, from the pen settings to the page and notebook settings. This app can do so many things, it's hard to find another app comparable to LectureNotes. I'll be using this app as long as I need to take notes!
Best Write your flowing thoughts. Never miss a word.
Best Digital Notebook App! Love this app. Tried other note taking apps for school, but LectureNotes beats them all. May not have the prettiest interface, but it has so many customization options. I use it everyday in class. Wish they would add the ability to sync your notebooks to Google Drive, It can still be done with a third party app, but takes a bit more work to set up. All around, this app is amazing.
A powerful app for power users. I have a Note 10.1 2014 edition, and this the best note taking app I've come across. With a myriad of features and settings you can customise it exactly the way you want. It can take a while to set it up, but it's definitely worth it. The experience with an active stylus is phenomenal (I haven't tried with a passive stylus, so can't comment about that). This app is the only reason I've held off from switching to a Surface tablet. I can only hope the developer makes a Windows version, as my tablet is getting quite old and Samsung seems to have given up on Note tablets.
The best note taking app ever. Not only is the app fantastic and powerful (all my notes are now on this), the response from the developer is brilliant. My really old tablet lost some functionality after an update, one email and the developer gave me a workaround, and even fixed it in a later update. If only all developers were like this...... Kudos on a job very well done.
Like it Just like a physical note book! It is convenient. I have been using it 3+ years. Only lacking is interchangeable access to the same note from different devices ie android tablet and smartphone.
Did not restore I had saved the board from galaxy note tab a into Dropbox, then tried to restore into note 5. It gave "general error, cannot import." So it's ok if you plan to stay on one device. SNote syncs OK between the two devices, so this is a no go for me. Sorry, I really do like it, but I can't use it.
Very comprehensive Was looking for an alternative to Samsung's S Memo app since they ditched support for desktop shortcuts, and this app is better in every way. More customisable, smoother writing, quicker to load. Too many improvements to list here.
Totally Amazing This app worth every cent you spend in. Also the devilopers are such nice people they alway answers my qustions and sove my problems. Tank you so much for your work
Powerful app The best note taking app I found, but you have to take time to learn is quirks and adjust its overly complicated options to your liking. Take the time, it's worth it.
The Best Best app out there. As someone who has tried all the other ones available this is definitely the best. Been using it for 3+ years and have not run into something I couldn't do with it.
Beast if a notaking app Well worth the money, only thing I would add is cross platforming with synchronisation
Perfect I found this App. recently and it turned to be what I needed it requires a bit of Practice But nothing too complicated its really easy to master The only downside is the limited number of fonts offered for text tool . Hope the developer Adds new fonts in future updates
Love it but.... I really wish it had a cloud back-up to something like drop box or google DOC's. I'd also love a sync across devices option. If you add those it would be perfect.
great app I have a tab pro s and this app is insanely well thought out. you can be as simple as can be with the layout of your notes (blank white) or as detailed and meticulous as you create your personal kind of paper to write on. a great app that is awesome
Works really well, problem is palm rejection doesn't work for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.1
Couldnt open a damn pdf in my samsung note 8, tried following tutorials but their options werent on my screen
Great App. Great Support !! Great app. Very flexible indeed. And great support.
I like it very much, but I have a small problem. When I insert an image on a page and later on I want to remove it, I do not know how to do it. Am I missing something or it is not implemented yet. Please answer this.
Used it for Years I've used this app and it's addons since 2012. It has gotten me through college and it's my daily driver at work for meeting and development notes.
Great support The best app I've found for handwritten notes, and great support too. Thanks for your help Acadoid.
The best.very user friendly.u can throw away all ur notebooks.
Works great, use it every day
Great app Very usefully- keep up the good work!
It's the best app ever made for notes
Still, years on... The one and only... Hands down best note-taking app for android. Great features, palm-rejection works swell, very versatile. Please make a desktop version that takes typed notes, images, audio and video, and syncs across devices and we will take over the world!
Great for college Great App. I use it heavily for college. The only thing that bothers me is that there is a 10 page limit when trying to export to Onenote. Along with not being able to move multiple notebooks at once to different folders.(I do this after a semester or when I am finished with a topic in class.) I would also like Google drive support since most of the major colleges are going away from office products.
Good app Great app, creates notebook etc. However, im having issues with the stylus, it doesnt work very well n i have to use extremely big writing for it to capture it. Otherwise the app is excellent.
Best Note taking app available Note taking capabilities are superb. Fully customizable and powerful. User interface might be more user friendly. Worth every penny.
I have used many free apps to take lecture notes, but this paid for app is the slowest and most frustrating I have ever used.
