LearnPad Scanner

Apk file size: 525.0 KB

A derivative of ZXing's Barcode Scanner version 4.2 with support for front-facing cameras, including support for devices like the Nexus 7.

If your device has multiple cameras, a button will appear in the top middle of the screen, which allows you to cycle between them.

Note that front-facing cameras can be lower quality and less able to scan fine-featured barcodes, but coarse QR codes scan just fine.

This version no longer has the "view finder" (highlighted rectangle in the center), which should make it easier to use with a front-facing camera. Another tip is to put the device down and hold the item to be scanned in front of the camera.

If your device does not have a camera at all, this app will not work.

Whats new

Fixed a bug with the yellow tracking-spots being reversed for front-facing cameras.
Removed the "view finder" central rectangle to make maximum use of the limited resolution from front-facing cameras.

Needs to handle errors My phone's back camera is faulty so this app crashes when opening. I would like it a lot if the app caught this error before it crashes and gave the option to switch to the front facing camera. Thanks!

I have this app on both of my tablets my Sony with 2 cameras and my nexus 7 with one front facing camera works beautifully Better than any out there and uses very little memory compared to some out there, I could scan not only QR codes but UPC codes too, I did notice thou that the items that are not brand names don't scan. Most Items that I purchase are brand names anyway, so it doesn,'t effect me anyway keep up the good work, we need developer's like you that make apps that other's can't perfect on their app's.

Works on Nexus 7 First scanner app I found that works on Nexus 7 front facing camera. Very pleased!

Maddie Davies

It wouldn't want to do what I wanted it to do It wouldn't scan the barcode and I sat there for 25mins waiting for it to load

Jim Mc

Works on Nexus 7 Working delightfully well on my Nexus 7.

Nice and easy No rectangle to aim your camera at, just point your device in the general direction of the barcode. Easy.

Finnaly Finally a QR code scanner for the Nexus 7

Ariana Mines

Force closes When I click it, it force closes immediately. Uninstall.

Tom Liu

Works brilliantly on Nexus 7.

Works on the Nexus tablet Works as expected, supports front-facing camera. DroidWall takes care of the vague worry due to the permissions the app is asking for.

Works well up to v10 QR codes on N7 Barcodes and higher density QR codes are a bit iffy though. Can't do miracles with low-res fixed-focus camera that requires awkward postures to aim the scan.

Good Scanner Works fine on a device with a back camera. Aligning on Nexus 7 with just a front-facing camera is very tricky. But kudos for publishing this app with support for front-facing cameras.

Lizzie Sheehan

Really good I can use this on my nexus 7! Yay :-)

Crashes with ClassNotFoundException I sent a crash report via the other mechanism

Does what it should Been looking for an app to do just this. Does the trick.

Works as expected. Obviously, any app like this is limited by the capabilities of the hardware. Any negative experience with this app is probably a result of focus and lighting, which cannot be controlled by an app. I found this app to fill a void in front facing camera scanners. Well done.

Andreas Fronk

not working on nexus 7

Keaton Gray

Keaton When I try to scan it will not scan

Main camera's lense is broken on my phone but with this app I can still read qr codes without paying to repair my lense
