Great flashcard app. Great app and superb customer service with a few initial questions

The BEST "Flashcard App" !!! VOClab is head-and-shoulders above every other "flashcard app" I've tried out (and I have tried a number of them). First, it is a very "polished" app (with none of the "rough edges" that all too many Android apps have). The appropriate definite article ("der", "die", or "das") is used for each noun EVERY time (and - it's hard to believe but true - this is not the case with every other "flashcard app" out there). Similarly, the word form ("noun", "verb", "adjective", etc.) is stated for every word being studied, too, which is also quite useful. The Synch function (for synchronizing one or more devices with each other and/or with the VOClab web site interface), once set up, seems to work very well (and it's great to know, when I switch from the VOClab app on my Android tablet to the VOClab web browser interface on my Windows PC, or vice versa, that my progress will have been synched between the two, automatically and seamlessly). The German (woman's) voice is quite clear, except for an occasional "clipped" (i.e., slightly truncated) word, and except for (I think) a very rare mispronunciation. The memorization algorithm used, which is somewhat similar to that used in several of the better "flashcard apps", is really quite effective for maximizing memorization. One can add his/her own words to the word bank, although I haven't tried using that feature yet. On the other hand, one feature that I have used, and which is very helpful, is the ability to add individual "problem words" to a "Sticky Word" list, making them available for extra practice sessions (removing them from the list when they are finally memorized, of course). Overall, the designs of the Android app and of the web interface are both well thought out, and both are implemented very well. (I would only suggest that adding noun plurals would be a great addition.) Finally, with 4,000 words to work with (either en masse, or grouped by categories), which actually represent 8,000 translations (form EN to DE, and from DE to EN), there really is no reason to use any other "flashcard app". I'd give ~10~ stars (well, maybe 9.5 stars) to VOClab if I could.

One of the best out there, despite lack of pictures.

Paul O'Brien

Disappointing German nouns should show plurals. Strong and irregular verbs should show 3rd person present, 1st person simple past, & the past participle. Plus too many shoddy translations. Two stars because software works.

Best overall Spent days going through all the german language apps. L-lingo's are the only ones I kept. Offers great balance between grammar, rote phrases, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Great Starter and Refresher I love this app! It allows me to go through as many words as I want in a period. Once I master them I test on them and then im off to a new set of words.. only negative is the pronunciation of german words. Sometimes the audio isnt clear

My favourite flashcard app Words are spoken by a native German speaker, not computer generated, and the speech is exceptionally clear. The timing really works - I've used this app for six months now and it cleverly brings words back up from time to time, depending on whether I've pressed easy, so-so or hard. Nouns are provided with der, die or das which is essential with German. Somebody reviewed saying it doesn't have categories - but it does have categories! That said, I am trying to increase my general vocab in German, so I prefer not to pick categories. I also like the clear, un-cluttered interface, and the total absence of ads - many other flashcard apps have really horrible interfaces. I upgraded to the 4000-word vocab quite early on. Excellent app.

Michael Griffin

Really good! Excellent. It's really comfortable to study vocabulary with your phone wherever you want.

Andrea Ermetici

pranava sheshasaipuneeth

Sony neo v Its coming file package invalid when installed

jhoana Basalo

Very helpful

Igor Caviroski

Push notifications There is no option for push notifications to be disabled. Other than that great application.

Ivan Pridannikov

It a good app with some flaws Overall it is a very good flashcard app. Sentences and audio for every word. There are though some mistakes in the translation/sentences. The free version is only 150 words and the full app is quite expensive considering it is not perfect yet and you are more like a beta tester
