Outdated design The functionality of the apps is great, but because of the cumbersome navigation and the very outdated desgin (design langauge of android 1.6 eclair) the overall app experience is very poor. I hope KLM will fix this as soon as possible. They're even adapting android wear into the app but the design of the app itself reamains the same. Also when you go into the app a little deeper it's just a web browser which functionality is poor.

takes ages to load and doesn't show details for a mobile app it's a heavy load. it seems more like an encapsulated webbrowser and doesn't show the details (blank page), so website itself is better

Update changed app Since the last update, this app is not working properly. Why do I need a boarding pass by e-mail or sms now? And it takes ages to check in now. Please fix this KLM, asap. This app has changed for the worse, perhaps "upgrade" it back to the last version.

Carefully bug changes personal profile settings Old version off app changes the date of birth in your profile. Which is a setting only KLM flying blue can correct. Reported the problem but still no reply. Update : New version seems to solve this, but still four days older as I should be.

Useless App The app does not allow you to search for flights if departure is different from your home base. If l am traveling l should be able to search for flights from WHERE EVER l am.....!!! Isn't that what mobility is all about???

Old fashioned design poor performance Compared to the delta app this app is nothing like that. Performance is slow, details are opened in the browser. Webpages aren't scaled so you have to zoom. Time for a big update.

It's Junk I've uninstalled and re-installed. I've logged out, I've logged in. I've put in my Booking Codes. It accepts that I'm a Flying Blue member and has my stats and details. It cannot however find one of the eleven fllights I've taken this year or the one that I'm currently flying on. KLM - stop the amateur hour development and consider paying a professional to develop a real app!

Dissapointing Looking forward to using the navigation routine at Schipol, but the wait icon just spins around and around. I do get the blue map, but no help in finding gate. Bluetooth, Data and WiFi switched on, needs more work. Galaxy Note 4.

KLM app soaked up 172 MB of Cellular data in just 30 minutes I yesterday evening had a short connection in Schiphol - arriving at 19:50 and continuing on at 20:30. To my surprise just before switching off my phone on before departure I got a text from my carrier that my 150MB data roaming package was used up. Looking at Data usage in my HTC one ( Android 5.0.2) I see that the KLM app used 9.53 MB of foreground and 157 MB of background data. My Carrier shows even 172 MB of data used while in the Netherlands for 40 minutes :-) My guess would be that the KLM app tried to show me the way to my gate and pulled images of every single tile on the way there (this is just a guess as there was no indication coming from the app itself - it just continued to show my boarding pass. Thanks a lot KLM for buring 5 Euros for data roaming without delivering any value. I did change the settings now to only do background data when on WLAN, if this mess continues I will have to go without the app - which is actually pretty nice otherwise.

Timesaving app I have found this to be one of the easiest appstore use for travel management. I can easily select my seat in advance and check in with a few clicks. I have also used my smart phone as my boarding pass with the app having less paperwork to carry around. It's a great way to manage airmiles as well allowing me to review current miles and level mile requirements. I have the klm movies and houses app also would be good if all 3 would come in a single app.

Performed as expected App surprised me by doing all that I wanted. Could be upgraded to provide direct access to tickets in printable pdf from in-app to carry spares. App was splendid and highly recommended down to the self counting ETA for gate and flight departure. You could also adapt this further to automatically latch onto WiFi when inside schiphol to provide seamless experience. Thanks for this app, KLM. Always a pleasure flying with you. Xperia Z2

Buggy It would be better if the My FlyingBlue > Personal Information screen worked correctly and didn't knock my DOB back one day every time I saved changes. I can't/shouldn't even be able to change my DOB though the app. Changing DOB is something I'm meant to request for by putting in writing!

Used to be good, now is crap The app used to be good 1 year ago, but it has been losing functionality: it does not store tickets anymore, it also is unstable and it doesn't let me choose the dates for booking freely (I can book up to 2014 but not december 2012?? How useful!! ¬¬). Just use the klm website instead and don't even bother.

Slow and unreliable I have almost given up on the android version of this app. The iOS version works much better while this is very slow, to the point that I just switch to the paper print out. It very often fails to authenticate on the first few attempts. It feels like KLM have given up on it too.

Hate the update!!! Used to be able to see all my upcoming trips, which isn't possible any more. Now I have to go back to the mobile website, really stupid. Also; sync doesn't work, keeps showing me a past trip rather than upcoming on the home screen. Want the old version back!!!! Don't care it's prettier now, it's not functional any more :(

Fancy UI but still unreliable information and even a step back from the previous 'pretty but pretty useless' version - - 3 minutes to log in, and then it forgot my log in details next time I opened the app. - Flying Blue details hidden, but even after I found the 'trick' of scrolling the menu down, it disappeared next time I opened the app and is now unaccessible. The straightforward way of showing the Fybing Blue card in the previous version of the app (instead of the physical card which I never got from KLM) has also been removed - Tablet version only possible in landscape mode. - Baggage allowance details still wrong - showing 23kg for a business flight If you sacked your first developer for this second attempt, sack the new ones again. Please get the basics right first before spending time and effort on bling. This needs to be a functional, useful app for travel - not a pretty one.

Terrible Worst app experience ever. Update: I booked a new flight (not in app) which is now not listed in the app, so I have to use the web, why?! This user experience crap should not be labeled as Android native app. New version is as bad as the old one. It's a pity that companies don't understand the importance of mobile apps. It's not just a nice to have, nowadays is the main interaction platform for customers.

Too many updates and missing features. The boarding pass still disappears shortly after the flight departure. This means that I cannot do duty-free shopping on arrival because I have no boarding pass to show. How hard is it to keep the boarding pass on the app for a day? Please put the flying blue number on the boarding pass. Partner lounges want to write down the number. It's on the paper pass and there is plenty of room on the electronic pass. Lastly, when are we going to have a stable look & feel? You keep changing it over the years.

My trips not appearing in the app Trips not booked in the app, after installing the new version, are not appearing in the new app!! This was working automatically in the old version! Also, the option to display my flying blue card has been removed, which was very useful since sometimes they still demand to see a card to get into a partner's lounge.

Disappointing It lets you check in online and have your boarding pass on your phone. That's nice, but I can do that with email. I have yet to see my gate displayed in the app, even while I'm boarding. This app doesn't add much to my experience, although I'm sure KLM appreciates the information it siphons from me.

No Flying Blue New version does not show my Flying Blue information. Takes a long time to login, and I'm not sure login completes although I can see previous trips. Cleared cache and now seems to work, although doesn't give confirmation of login success.

However now it "reminds" me that check-in is open.... AFTER the flight has been and landed (!), and I had checked in using this app on this phone so it shoukd "know". V annoying. And please make sure that reminder doesn't go off at night time, irrespective of time zone!

Limited functionality - rubbish! App doesn't allow you to purchase extra baggage or upgrade to extra legroom for an existing flight NOR gives the option to add extra luggage or extra legroom seat when booking a flight. The whole point of an app is to make things easier than using a web browser! So you have to use the app AND the website to book a flight?! Incredulous! So I just used the app of a different airline to book my flight - cost me a little more for the flight but it worked. Pity really as I enjoy flying with KLM.

I don't want it in portrait Fine on a mobile but on a tablet we are not all apple portrait lovers ...i often use mine landscape with a bluetooth keyboard ..why can other much smaller companies allow portrait or landscape depending on the orientation of the device and not klm...agree with all the other comments other reviewers have made's a downgrade in capability all for the sake of ui..and doesn't think about the frequent flyers ......very frustrated

So I purchased my tickets on a PC, during the process I was prompted to install the app on my phone, which I agreed to. On the PC I was logged in using my Google account, however in the app this is NOT an option. Only KLM, Facebook and LinkedIn options are available. Stupid! On a Google device the Google option is not available, haha :)

Hopefully your software for pilots works better than this app Took me 5 minutes to figure out how login works (actually doesn't work if you have password longer than 12 symbols). Wasn't able to logout: just used force stop + clear data& cache. App size: 40Mb! 'Welcome' screen appeared when I was typing my username. You definitely have a room for improvement.

A UK passport has NO letters in the passport number. The app won't let me and my wife check in for our flight TOMORROW. WORST CHECK IN APP EVER


App continuously fails App always fails when I m trying to check in, then flag me as checked in and I'm obliged to go on the Web site to make proposer check in and select my seats and get my boarding pass. By the way this app is really stupid as it tells you that it can't give you all boarding passes.. And therefore don't give you anything. It took me a while to find out that the boarding pass that couldn't be sent was the return ticket ! No comment, please make a usable app !!

Doesn't work for Samsung S6 The app used to work until a week ago. Now it doesn't work. Works ok on my android tablet. The dashboard is a bit naff. Make a short list so you've got a good overview of all your trips. Then if you have a multi leg you get panicked as you cannot see all legs in the app if you don't swipe. Again, give final destination so it gives you a good overview if you have many trips. When you then click the final destination you get the list of legs in that container. Make it fast, short and direct to the spot.


Constant error trying to change seats Check in was open and I had the option to change seats but the app crashed every time I chose another seat with a warning "an error has occurred". Rubbish because by default it gave us random seats separately on the plane when half the other seats were empty (not premium seats, all standard).

You should revert to the old version ASAP as this update is awful. Useful features such as flight status are missing and App is not even in the KLM house style. Weird that I have to access the Skyteam app to obtain flight status!

Not even the sign in possible. Deleted. No use!!! After using my correct E-Mail adress and correct password, the login button is gray and inactive. Same with Facebook account. 1 minute ago I was logged in on the KLM homepage. This app is a shame for KLM. Get somebody, who can program a functioning app. Look at the horrible reviews and wake up please. I hope, your airplanes are more functional than this app.

I'm still struggling a bit with this version. I have to enter my full passport details before every flight...which is every week. Gets a bit tiresome. EDIT: Thanks for the response - looking forward to the fix. Beautiful app otherwise, and works a treat. :D

Unusable Tried entering passport details by scanning passport. It read the passport OK including number but would not let me save it because the passport number apparently "should consist of letters and numbers". Keeps asking for my location despite me repeatedly having told it UK. These details are in any case in my Flying Blue account so why can't it just access those details.


Does not remember passenger details For my departure I filled in all my details, which is already strange because you login with your Flying Blue account.... Now I want to check in for my return flight and I have to fill in all details again. Very annoying and should be improved.

Why can't the app display my flying blue status offline? Would be useful for check ins abroad. Given how many permissions the app requires it should offer this. Reply to dev: Yes, I still have the issue. I used the app aboard without roaming on wifi. Once wifi is off, the FB status disappears.

Looks like an attempt to make the app more agile with increased usability compared to the overweight and overly dressed up previous version, which is a good thing. I am frequent user and usability is only thing that matters to me. Issues: 1. Does not render properly on Nexus 5, with latest Android. 2. Does not show upcoming trips on Nexus 5, with latest Android. 3. Would expect a platinum member can call platinum line directly from App. (Did also not work in previous app.) These work fine on iPhone 6. Will give 4 once 1 and 2 are fixed.

Too many things just don't work I don't always see all my bookings; when I do, I don't see details of all parts of the booking, for example the return leg. I can't see my Flying Blue transactions as the link has never worked. These are the current problems, but the list of problems changes with every update. The previous version had the fewest glitches, but even that was far from perfect. I will therefore continue to use the Internet, sadly, as this app has never been good. Not a happy Platinum member.

My Trip (boarding cards) BAD With the new update getting he boarding cards became an odissey. Retieving the cards when you are running to the gate is impossible. Or even from the taxi if you do not remember the booking code you r done. It became a purchasing tool, not a travel companion. As it is, practically UESELESS. Please BRING BACK functiobality ASAP.

No level on Boarding pass. There's no Flying Blue level displayed on the boarding pass. Before it was displayed at least when I was online. I'd like to see the level on boarding pass even when I'm offline.

How to take a good app and ruin it! Well done KLM, you took a good app and turned it into a useless pile of crap. Bravo! They fixed the login problem, but one cannot click on the link that says see my transactions. It's still not possible to lookup flight status, and don't even think of trying to book an award ticket with this all. The amateurishness of the developers of this app is mind boggling, they clearly never heard of QA. Awesome :(

Room for improvement The app is good for most part, I was able to book a flight without any trouble. However, when it comes to buy an extra luggage in Brazil, where our "great" legislation forbade companies to charge services in our currency if those charges are done from abroad. Therefore, I'm unable to pay for it because it charges in BRL, and the problem is that we cannot change currency of payment for extra options, please take that into consideration for your next update. Thanks!

Unusable after recent update I used to use the KLM app alot. After the recent update, cannot even log in. Useless. Please roll back to the previous version. Update: After installing the latest version, the login problem was the same. However app worked after clearing data. +2 stars.

Too many bugs and missing features. The boarding pass still disappears shortly after the flight departure. This means that I cannot do duty-free shopping on arrival because I have no boarding pass to show. How hard is it to keep the boarding pass on the app for a day? Please put the flying blue number on the boarding pass. Partner lounges want to write down the number. It's on the paper pass and there is plenty of room on the electronic pass. Lastly, I often can't change my seat while I can on the website... And there's more bugs....

Quite useless Added booking, oh can't change seats in app... :( Login on a desktop, booking isn't in my account. What kind of infrastructure is behind this? Stupid captcha on desktop, you get one star extra for not putting that in the app. Don't do an app if i can't even change seats which is the single thing needed!

Illogical and a bit buggy. Can't log in because the app can't handle google connected klm accounts, only facebook or linkedin. The app also locks up. Cannot use the app in portrait mode on tablet, why?

Getting worse It used to be that I couldn't change my seat when checking in. Now it won't even find my upcoming trips, only past ones! And the beta app only shows a blank white screen. These apps are a disgrace. Thankfully, I always have a connection to/from an Air France flight and their app works.

Delete and re-install appears to help: The best most functional, simple, airline app just became the worst after the March 8th update. (Samsung Galaxy S5) It no longer logs me in automatically, in fact it freezes and won't log in at all, while telling me that "can't load itinerary from your profile" and asking me if I wish to cancel or retry. After I wrote the above, with a 1-star rating, I uninstalled the app and installed it again. Updates should not require this! Functionality appears to be restored to what it was like before. Hence a cautious 3-star until I'm sure it stays good.

Just 1 dislike The app is great for searching for flights and finding the cheapest flight. The only problem I have is that once you chose your inbound and outbound flights, theres a screen telling you to select seats and add bags but instead of allowing you to do so, it takes you straight to the payment page. I understand you can add baggage later on but I would prefer to pay all in one go and know the full price of everything but you cannot do so.

Beyond Disappointing This app was disappointing when I first installed it, and now, after a year of further development, it's actually gotten worse. I get a notification telling me I can check in but no option within the app *to* check in. I have to open the klm site in a browser. Now it says my account is blocked and I should contact them on social media to unblock it. Well KLM, here's my contact!

Clunky issues - adding to airport stress 3 issues make this app troublesome when travelling abroad. 1 - boarding passes are not available offline, even when you have checked in. Even when I have been connected to train WiFi, and have the pass on-screen, the app wouldn't show the pass again before I had reconnected to airport WiFi. 2. The pass-barcode screen is sensitive to phone rotation. When presenting the pass with the phone facing downwards to a scanner, the screen rotates and moves the pass offscreen. Qr codes should be static and full screen

Don't bother - use the website! Your app doesn't work properly. I'm one of three in my party with one person having already checked in. When I come to check in, it asks me for my nationality. When I select that and press save it says I can't do that as I'm already checked in (which I'm not!!). Then when I try to contact you via the app it just takes me to a screen but gives me no way of phoning you. And when I click "forgotten password", type my email address and press the button, it doesn't do anything. A half-baked app at best. Rubbish.

Expected more Terrible app. Looks good but a lot of critical things don't work. I couldn't check in cos the 'issue date' calendar only goes past 1970. Can't select seats. Airports are missing from flight status area. Cant see recent transactions. You'd be left disappointed with the app.

Useless First, the app couldn't find our booking, which had to be added manually. Then it would only display passenger information for me and my girlfriend, but not her 3y/o son. I couldn't check in because of "missing information", though in the app it wouldn't say what was missing. Turned out it was my permanent resident card information, which could only be added through the site. Had to check in the 3y/o through the site as well. Now the app won't display the boarding passes.

One of the worst apps I've ever used The app is nowhere near usable. Endless loading-actions that eventually fail; When purchasing in-app (upgrade seat) 10 out of 10 times the app errors out and immediately after shows success message O_o; sometimes the app doesn't even start (even on WiFi)...and many more. I am now often falling back to the website because the app is really useless

Absolute rubbish Can't create an account to register and only 2 options to call for help. And since I am not of Facebook that leaves me with a phone call from overseas. Tried online to check-in and select seat .... No can do until 30 hours before very poor. Can't believe there is no email contact to KLM

The app is nicely designed, even if it appears to insist on landscape mode, and is pleasant to use for things like checking in or adding bags. However, it seems more like an alternate browser interface really and appears useless when there is no network connectivity. Most importantly it did not store boarding passes locally and was not able to show trip details or boarding passes when offline. Which means you can't rely on it sadly. Klm devs, have a look at the easyjet app. Promising though.

Needs to be able to save your boarding pass It asked for permission to save the boarding pass then doesn't. So unless you have internet access at the gate you lose the boarding pass. I just save the image to my phone. It also sometimes emails the boarding pass when you check in and other times it doesn't

Still needs work to be useful Despite some improvements recently there is still some way to go in my opinion... Loses log in and access to boarding passes when offline (fundamental - you have to be able to trust the app on this), doesn't update gate information 40 minutes before flight (despite being fully updated on Google and other sources) and Android Wear seems to show departure times in GMT, not local time (gets boarding time right though?...). These should be pretty easy to fixes to make this app functional.

Crap, & frustration Got the app so we could check-in to our flights and save time but it's been pure hassle. It wont read/ scan all our passports & wont even with our reservation having a unique last name it wont let us type in the info to check-in. Delay and headache we know and now fear loosing seats having to wait to check-in all persons at terminal. Have to add that trying app on my tablet was even more hell. Total waste of time really pissed me off.

Didn't work when I needed it I had loaded it up when in preparation for going to the airport. All seemed well and fine. At the airport the app then complained it couldn't connect to the internet (while on WiFi) and wouldn't load my boarding pass. On the return, I was unable to use the app to check in at all, and it then wasn't able to generate a boarding pass after I did so online. Luckily the hotel staff were willing to print a copy or i would have had issues at an airport where the staff didn't speak the same language as me.

Very primitive When I put the departure date it tells me that there are no available places. Now what is the nearest available date ..?? You have to hunt and try forward and backwards until you find something ....Also if the price is high you don't know which part is the problem departure or return also does not give you the details of the journey it simply says that you have two options for example 6 hours and 18 hours without explaining why
