Just a shady gig to sell their OSX app. Needs a lot of work.. I have edited my review again and reduced it to a single star - reason? The video on their website for this ANDROID app is a BLOODY JOKE. It starts with a screenshot of the Android app but then it's iOS. I think these guys are just viewing the Android platform as something they can add onto their OsX app and sell it. ** Developers need to understand that they are making something for ANDROID users. We transfer more than just Photos which is rather straight forward and works by the way. This app has a major flaw. Anything other than pictures end up in a hard to find and strange location under "/data/com.arat.Vaccum" - why? I am not sure if the Non-Rooted users will ever be able to find this.
Didn't work for me It couldn't pair with an iPhone and it didn't provide clear instructions on how to use it with an android
Useless They said it doesn't require net access. Only WiFi. Absolute lie. No way would this ever be able to compare to "Airdrop"! And even with net access I could not send files from my Windows PC to this phone or the other way around. Useless. Moreover both were connected to the same Router!
sharing files works but cant find these files afterwards sharing files works but cant find these files afterwards also extremely unreliable
Constantly running The app works great, but will be constantly "ready" in the background, showing a notification, even if I have closed the running app. This I'm sure will kill my already poor battery life, so I'm uninstalling and will try something different
Cross platform Works amazingly well to transfer files to my iOS device and from it.
Need to be able to set download folder The downloaded files need to be easily accessible, not stored in some really tedious long path that needs to be searched for 5 minutes or bookmarked. Please allow the facility to choose the download folder
Good Wish i could set my own saved folder.
No access to android file to share How if i wanna share from my android to my ios device??
Rubbish The iOS version works brilliantly. Is it too much to ask for this one to just transfer pictures succesfully?
At long last Thanks dev. The app is functional again.
I paid $5 on my computer for this And then I have to pay more to go add free on my phone! No way.
Didn't work the second time The first time went well and then it wouldn't work the second. What am I doing wrong?
Slowly figuring this out! I'm slowly figuring out how to use this! Here are some tips that were not evident to me: 1. To transfer pictures from Android's Gallery to another device, first start Instashare, go to settings, and check "On" the option to "Keep Instashare running in background." Then go to your Gallery, and select a file. Tap on the share icon (top of screen), and select "Instashare". You should be able to figure the rest out. 2. If you send a photo *to* your iOS device, you have to tap on it in Instashare, and then tap the [^] box to save it to your camera roll. They aren't automatically saved! (If you can't reach the developer, feel free to tweet me for help; I'm @DavidWhovian on Twitter.)
Great but.... Great app, one of the few that lets you share files between android and ios if not the only one. Too bad the developer missed out on something as basic as saving all the received files in a user friendly location. I had to hunt around to find where my video files were until i looked in android/data/com.arat.Vacuum... If it wasn't of that flaw i would have given it 4-5 stars
Amazingly simple and fast! I was assuming I was going to have to sit there pairing devices, but no. It was super simple and easy. On my iPhone I selected some photos I wanted moved over, and then as soon as I dragged them, my Nexus 5 popped up and I dropped it on that. Immediately my phone asked me to accept the transfer -- super easy! Amazing app! It's like AirDrop, except, much faster!
Quick and Easy Simple to use, pretty much works straight our of the box. Only problem i've had so far is there doesnt seem to be the option to choose a destination folder for the files and the folder they go took a bit of searching to locate so.
can't send out files? I like the iOS version, which is a superb app, but this Android one won't connect to my MacBook.
Pretty Good It's a great concept, but it would be nice if you could choose what directory the files are saved to on the Android device. It took me forever to find the file, and you have to be rooted to get to it. The Mac OS X version does however have this option.
Good tool for the toolbox For a android guy there's very little use case for this app. The only scenario where I use this app is if I want a file from a person that is unfortunately locked in iOS, without exchanging credentials.
Seems like a one-way thing. NOT HAPPY! I can transfer from SIII to iPhone 5c but not from iPhone to SIII. There is nothing on iPhone to allow sharing. On the SIII, the trusted devices list is empty. On the iPhone, the SIII is there twice. I PAID FOR BOTH!
Windows pc version missing...once they have that option it will deserve 5 star rating
Great App I love it, so easy to move files between my macbook, ipad and Samsung S4 mini. Haven't had any problems at all. Only suggestion, as others have made, is to be able to choose the destination folder when sending to android. I can find it easy enough inside the Instashare app on my phone, but I haven't figured out how to move it to a folder of my choice. So only four stars, and a bit! Okay, so I've downloaded ES File Manager to my phone now and that made it simple to move my file, and to add a shortcut to a pdf file to my home page. So all good.
Great for cross platform sharing Easy to use with great transfer speed
Very good Easy sharing between iOS and Android. The pictures are saved to Pictures-Instashare folder, but the videos are hard to find in the Android - data- Vacuum folder. Developer, you should save all shared items to the same folder! For this missing feature I give it only four stars
Good app I like this app. Allows me to transfer photos from iPhone 5s to my android phone! Now handling those iPhone photos has just become a lot easier! Thanks! For the last star, I'll reserve it when u implement the feature for android to choose which directory to save the files to. ?
Bugs Bugs Bugs This app is not working after I transfer just one file and I cannot open music in my music player. The app can receive file but does not send to any. You have to fix this as quick as possible. I could have given 5 star to this app
Easy to use and nice UI The only easy solution for file transfer ios_android. If your ios device cannot find the android device, turn the android device's wifi on and off. It should be detected after that
Crashes and doesn't work either Android version crashes, 3 times in 3 minutes. iOS version crashes too. Android version can't see iOS device. iOS device can't select file to transmit to Android. Deleted off both devices. Waste of time.
Not working! It's seaching nd searching for a device but no device is visible whether is an ipad or a macbook. plzz fix for a 5star review.
It works well so far Just installed it on my ipad air and my Samsung s3 phone and tested it on some photos and a 670 mb video file and they went across the two devices fast and with no issues at all. ..brilliant. Time will tell if it fails but so far I'm very pleased (and surprised) that it actually works smoothly across the two platforms. There's an option in the settings to save automatically to camera roll on ios version while on android it creates and saves photos in a new folder in the gallery.
Very poor app. It just doesn't work. I have other apps on my device that can communicate with my Mac just fine so it's not an environment issue. The design is lazy and confusing. The only option I see is txt which is absolutely worthless to me.
Where're all my songs I transfered songs from my ipad to my android but i didn't see them anywhere. It just shows up in the app but anywhere else. What should i do
Choose destination directory Guys, this is a great application but I'm amazed you skipped one simple detail: the possibility to change the destination directory. Until you fix this, 3 stars from me.
Awesome App I would give it a higher rating however when I try to purchase the pro version for $. 99 according to the upgrade button it brings up the in-app purchase it says it costs $1.30. Which cost is it???
Not working for phone to Mac Constantly searching for device. Please fix this. Wasted my money on the Mac App.
Great start Redesign the UI. It's missing that final polish.
App doesn't work. Tried between MacAir - HTC One - iPad2 - Nexus 7 II. Application stopped, unable to receive, unable to open etc... Purchased one for Mac and it's completely useless. At least, so far.. Will see.
Unable to find the transfered files It works okay with pictures, other than that, it doesn't.
Impossible to find where transfered files are saved
I paid $5 for the Mac OS application, and they work together well. BUT, you cannot choose where to save your files, so they end up in an obscure location in Internal Storage. SUPER INCONVENIENT! It's such a basic functionality to implement a directory chooser in the Settings, totally lazy on the developer's part.
Did not work I would like a refund for the no add pop up I purchased. It won't let me add the device or send. It's stupid. Horrible. Money back please. Super unhappy
App works great between osx and android But it's kind of silly that all files on the Android side are dropped into the Android/data/com.arat.Vacuum folder, whilst on the Mac side it simply goes to Downloads. Seems lazy and it's extremely inconvenient.
Very very bad I never like this app I feel very guilty to download this one maybe try to not make apps if they are so bad very disappointed
Lost Transfers fine, but can't locate the files anywhere. Only, within the app. Really inconvenient.
Worked like a charm Was searching for a way to transfer files between android & ios. This worked like a charm.
Can't save the files to the gallery After receiving a file from my mac via the app the file doesn't be saved automatically to the gallery in my phone !!
Doesn't work between android and iPhone
Most of time it doesn't work!
Bad It can't find any devices. Fail
Did not work whatsoever Did nothing. At all. No transfer, my file didn't even show up in the clipboard. The interface was horrible and ads were blocking the buttons.
Great Can easily transfer files between my phone and mac cheers!
Terrible so far. It doesn't find any devices (I've tried with Wi-Fi on and off [for no-net usage as in Wi-Fi Direct] and can't find any configuration instructions.] Android-to-Android. How is it supposed to detect another device?
want my money back .doesn't work at all. can't transfer anything from my s7 edge to mac as promised. paid 300 for nothing . please reimburse my money.
Useless Doesn't save to Gallery, I have to click on each single photo to save it? What's the point?
Love the app Too easy to use
Amazing Best transfer app I have ever found, use it all the time and has proved very helpful in transferring things from my android to my iPhone (:
Can only transfer one file at a time, can't transfer folders.
Instashare Misnomer as cannot find/recognize device
now i know how to send files i have recived to ios but still don't know how to start a new process if sending files
Weak Paid for this and the Mac app. Bit hit and miss but perfect for transferring photos.
Moved my file to El Capitan Kept getting notifications in the task bar every hour or so, despite killing the app. Uninstalled.
Does not work. Ugliest app ever
Fantastic Great software for inter-platform transfer of files
This is it!
