Apk file size: 2.1 MB

Stores important information for first responders and hospital staff to use in case of an emergency involving you:

+ A list of people to call -- can call directly from the app
+ Insurance information
+ Doctor names and numbers -- can call directly from the app
+ Allergies
+ Medical Conditions
+ Medications
+ Any special instructions or other information you wish to provide

CAN USE EVEN WHEN THE PHONE IS PATTERN/PIN/PASSWORD LOCKED. For Android 4.2 & up, you can add the ICE widget to the system lock screen. For earlier versions of Android, ICE provides its own lock screen mode. The ICE lock screen also includes an optional "if found" message in case you lose your phone.

Install our companion app “Family Medical Info” to store medical info for the entire family, including vaccinations and medical history. Optionally share some or all family info with ICE. When info is shared with ICE, an additional “Family Info” category is added following Medications that will allow you or emergency service providers to access the shared info.

*** NEW: optionally use the (FREE) web version of Family Medical Info (FMI) to create & edit profiles on your computer. From Google Chrome on your computer, go to to install the web app (currently, this only works with the Chrome browser). Or, just search for Appventive in the Chrome Web Store. Profiles created with the web version of FMI can be imported into either FMI or ICE. ***

Optionally choose to email selected information (e.g., to your doctor).

Dynamically switch between Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek (Android 2.3+), Hebrew (Android 4.2+), Italian, Japanese, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Vietnamese when travelling. If you would like to help translate ICE into a different language, please email us.

Optionally export the ICE user profile for use on other devices, or to save an off-device backup. The exported profile can also be used by Family Medical Info.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or problems, PLEASE email us.

ICE This App has proven itself to be extremely useful I had to unfortunately be rushed to the hospital & as usual the EMT's & Dr's had all these questions so I just opened the App & pointed that got all the info they needed. I suggest this App to the world, great support too.

C. Scott Hollabaugh

A real life saver! I really like this app! It really comes in handy during doctor appointments. It also has come in handy when I had a medical emergency, several months ago. I just have 1 question. On my previous phone (Moto X), I found a way to place a widget on my lock screen instead of using your lock screen. Is there a way to do it on my Samsung Galaxy S5? I have tried several times to contact your customer support via email. It was returned every time.

Ruth Bullough

ICE This is a brilliant app and I want to give it 5 stars, but my only one gripe is when I put it my NHS Number it won't show up under the special instructions, I go back into edit and it's all there, I have a Samsung S6 edge maybe there's a fix?

Kara Hughes

It won't let your alarm go off It silences your alarms with the update. So if you use your phone for a morning alarm as I do, or you have alerts on your phone, they don't allow the phone to ring through. I over slept.

Amy Blumenthal

just what I was looking for I have a Moto X running Kit Kat and couldn't figure out if/where ICE was built into the phone. I thought about taping a little card inside the phone case, but an app would allow people to call my emergency numbers. This app works perfectly for me. I put my data into the Web version of FMI (see the programmer's description above), then imported it into ICE - easier to do this than typing everything into the phone. I set ICE to display on my lock screen. It changes how the Moto X's default lock screen looks - I think this is alluded to by "A Google User" in their review. Now I have to drag the lock across the screen, rather than down, to unlock the phone. BUT I can easily mute the phone by dragging from the right, which is something I was sorry to lose in Kit Kat.

No longer working Was great on my earlier phones but since I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 it won't show up on my home screens or even in my list of Apps. The play store confirms I've paid for it, and that it's installed, but I can't get to it. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling but no luck. Frustration capacity reached. Switching to a competitor's product that has the additional feature of the ability to send emergency messages to family members.

Disabled Veteran It is easy to find the information quickly. The lock screen didnt disable my lock screen wallpaper or pattern password. The only thing that I feel should be added is a section for identifying marks incase the face is to damages to reconize

Dustin Boyd

Great app and support! I've used this for a few years, and it works great. The only issue I've run into is when I try to open a Google Drive file, this app tries to import the file or something, and there is nothing on the screen except "Select the profile to import". After working with the support team, it was determined my issue was simply that I didn't have an appropriate app installed. After that, I received the expected screen allowing you to select the app to open the file with. Nothing but good stuff here! :-)

A Google User

Works great, but a recommendation... I've had this app from the start and it has worked flawless on every device I've owned. In my personal case, this app could be a definite life saving system, due to having a neurological health issue and being shunt dependent, which first responders NEED to know about if I'm unable to speak for myself. Only thing I'd like to see is possibly an updated lockscreen. More of a Holo (ICS/JB) type. The current one is quite dated and from late Froyo-early Gingerbread. Regardless, very effective and 5*.

Jana Sanborn

The ease of the app is good but the lock screen is the most annoying thing. I have to slide it twice, the first time it let's you right in but then after several seconds it takes you back out. I would expect something like this from a free app but one I paid almost $5 for...ridiculous! Fix that and I will rate it higher.

Terry O'Reilly

Good app, but lock screen can be a bit inconvenient at times. Good app, I just wish there was a way to bypass the Unlock button when desired. Having to press the unlock button every single time I pick up my phone (Moto Razr Maxx HD) gets to be a bit inconvenient. I've tried adjusting the app's delay settings, but it the unlock screen pops up after the designated delay time and interrupts whatever I'm doing on the phone. Other than that it works well.

Lani Pierre

Bugged In essence, this is a great app. In these times, it helps knowing that if something catastrophic happens, you'd have some way of communicating what needs to be done. However, I'm not sure why it keeps failing on me. I keep having to manually get it to show up on the start screen. God forbid it fails if something bad happens to me!! I think this needs to be addressed ASAP. Until then, no more than two stars.

Lynn Shelton

40 stars if I could! I have been using ICE for a couple of years now and it has been used two or three times to save my life due to bee stings. I have insisted that my girls and my partner have it on their phones as well.

Beverlea Forshaw

Peace of mind I took the plunge and purchased ICE I have a number of medical conditions, only one that is life-threatening. Even though I have a medical alert bracelet, it's nice to know I have all my details with me. It's well worth the investment, just for peace of mind.

Steven Bartlett

Shame! This is a fantastic idea, i ride a motorcycle and a pushbike. Both can be a little dangerous and both generally you are on your own, so this app makes good sense to me. It makes the medical info easy to find and keeps my phone locked. Well thats the theory, in practice it worked for about a week. The lock screen does not start itself every time, so you do not know if the app has started or not! This is annoying and a shame, cos its a great app. I do not want to uninstall it and pay again...

Neal Jacob

Good to have just in case I have diabetes and I do wear a MedicAlert bracelet, but if someone finds my phone, they aren't going to be looking at my bracelet! :) The developer is very responsive to emails!

Michael Collins

Good app I like the fact you can add all pertinent information and have widget show on lock screen. I would like to see an updated refreshed look for kit kat and upcoming "L" but that's just cosmetics. App is fully functional and useful.

Todd Rossi

Very Disappointing This app has very poor integration with the stock Lollipop lock screen. It's version of a lock screen "widget" is to show a fake lock screen with the ICE banner on it where you click or swipe to get to your real lock screen. Booo. I understand that lock screen widgets have gone away in Lollipop after reading about this problem, so it may not entirely be the app developer's fault. However now I'm out the price of the app and I've supported an app I feel doesn't deserve my support. Oh and when charging, the ICE lockscreen comes up and has to be cleared before the phone's screen shuts off. Very poor form, indeed. Oh and be careful what info you put in the app, it shows up on an all or nothing basis. App looks horrible, no attention has been paid to making this a pretty app. User experience is VERY clunky. If google had make this app, it never would have been released. Sorry, hate to make that comparison, but I have to for an app, I'll be seeing every time I unlock my phone! Disabling lock screen info for now. I'm giving it 2 stars because it simply does only what it advertises: Aggregate ICE info, and make it available without unlocking the device. However, it fails to impress.

Tim Pettit

Really Excellent If called, EMTs or doctor can get important info from my cell phone. Well organized UI. I like how well the access from lock screen widget works. Developer cares.

Sharlene Robinson

Excellent app As an MD in practice for 30 years, this is by far the best In Case of Emergency app I have ever seen. The only reason I withheld the fifth star is that it is neither clear nor obvious how to edit the information easily. Definitely must-have!

Nadia Steadman

A life-saver! As a person with multiple medical conditions, a swag of medications and a few allergies thrown in just for fun, this app has been a life-saver on a number of occasions. I've been using it for a number of years, over a number of different phones, with little or no trouble transferring from phone to phone.

Steaphan Markotany

Brilliant Usually I look for free alternatives, but this is an important service for those of us with health concerns. This app not only is comprehensive, easy to navigate, & excellent in the lock-screen access it provides, but I also love the old-school swipe access to silencing/refreshing your phone easily :)

Chad Rike

A life saver As an epileptic, this app has all medical conditions I have. Everyone should have this downloaded on their phones.

anon nymous

Needs some interface improvements If you have a long list of medications, some people may not know that they need to scroll down. I tested this with several people and some did not know there is more listed if you scroll down. Ideally on any of the tabs if more information is available by scrolling down, there should be a line or icon to indicate it or maybe a page no. like page 1/3 .

Gerrit Hoogakker

Great app. Great support. I love this app. I'm a mountain biker and it gives me a little extra peace of mind that in case of an emergency anybody can access my emergency contracts, without having access to my entire phone. The lock screen widget (Android 4.2+) allows you to put the app front and center, so it will be the first thing people see when the try to unlock your phone. Appventive also delivers great support. Twice I have emailed them with some suggestions and in both cases they replied to me within a day.

William Hess

Good, but needs 2 factor authentication I like this but my information is readily available if I lose my phone. Put a PIN AND hint so I can say look on medical bracelet and finish number sequence (303) 429-XXXX. This way if I'm unconscious they can look at bracelet and unlock, but if I lose phone the finder/thief cannot

A Google User

Clive. Taxi driver. Wrote my car off a few days after installing ICE. Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics & Ambulance staff all considered this app to be top draw. £2.99 is value when you consider it could save your life. BUY IT. Just installed it on Galaxy Note 3, looks even better.

A Google User

Insurance Information Since last update, I have not been able to enter or edit insurance info. I can't even pull the insurance information up. Please help me, I need to enter my new insurance information because I have a new insurance provider. I'm lowering my star rating to 2 until its corrected or I receive a response from you.

John Carpenter

Keeps all emergency info in one place I find this invaluable since it keeps all my medications, and other emergency info right on my home screen. It is one of the first apps I add when I get a new phone.

Lisa Dupre

I have had this forever. Now, I purchase the Note 3 and it doesn't work. Had to buy another app. Really dissatisfied

A Google User

it's fine in principle but often stops working lock screen notification often stops working, until i manually go in and open the app from my app list. and even then, sometimes the app won't open, so i'm still out of luck. have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 2x.

Zoran Paljevic

Doesn't work on Galaxy Round It doesn't work on my Galaxy Round, there's simply no menu or anything "clickable" titled "MENU" or "EDIT" in ID & Insurance. I will, however, re-download in few weeks and correct my feedback if problem is fixed.

Vicky Black

Needs just a little work. I do like this app except the language can be changed without being in edit mode. Can you please change this? Then I would give it a 5 star.

A Google User

Very helpful. I have had this app for a very long time and kept wondering how useful it would be if some does not look in my phone. I felt safer now since I had a seizure a while ago and people thought I was trying to rob a building. Cops found this program and called my wife. Wish I.C.E had stickers to put on phones in case of emergencies.

Kristine Sheridan

Love this app because I can have it on my home screen and it can be opened by in an emergency even when my phone is locked.

Matthew Young

Lock screen problem Doesn't work with stock lock screen. Insists on using its own. Using a Galaxy Nexus on stock Android 4.3

David Jonas

Don't work on Moto X I transferred all my apps from Bionic to Motorola Moto X. the ICE does not show in the apps list, nor do I have a home screen widget.

Heidi Kohne

Overall great This is a great app, even if you don't have a major health problem. The main problem that I have on my ics LG phone is that it frequently interferes with my lock screen and power settings. If I turn on the phone just briefly to see the time, and never unlock the screen, I have to let the ICE program load for quite a few seconds before turning the phone back off; otherwise the ICE turns the screen back on because it's continuing to load and becomes a bit of a battery drain. I'm considering uninstalling.

Sherry McMahon

doesn't work Recently bought a new galaxy note 3 and this app does not work on it. It

NJM -4BKD really good app have installed on all my devices as Travel a lot

Andrei Masin

Thanks It saved my life.

I would still like a suggestion on how to make a widget work on the lock screen, I noticed that in a more recent comment, you told a customer that it could be done!

Sally Widzinski

Necessary App This app is an absolute necessity. It does however, need a 1 second delay. I am afraid waiting 2 seconds that emergency personnel could put the phone down thinking that they could not access the information. Change to a 1 second delay and I would happily give you 5 stars.

Shannon Brundage

Doesn't work on Galaxy S6! I loved this app, it was more yam worth the price I paid for it. But it doesn't work on my new phone at all. It flashes open just for a second and then vanishes. I was so disappointed - I have a chronic condition and use this app a lot. I really hope it's updated for the S6.

Dave Raymond

No Way It's Worth $3.99!!! Very awkward to Edit info! Can't do even basic things easily! Doesn't even allow for multiple #'s for Emergency Contacts (Home, Work, Cell)! This is a $0.99 app at most!

Marc Harbison

When setup on my lockscreen, this app has a tendency to lag my phone something terrible. I only set it up on my lockscreen prior to going mountain biking. Otherwise, I disable it 'til I need it. For reference, I'm using a Note 4 (5.0.1) on Verizon's network. Other than that... it's not a bad app.

David Boutet

Quite good app. I would put a 5 star if this app had better Lollipop lock screen integration. Indeed, I always need to click on "Unlock" then enter my PIN every time to unlock the phone. I can add a delay to avoid this problem but I don't like to put a delay for an ICE app. Also, I cannot use the black wake up screen without the ICE screen to get opened.

Albert Yates

Great app. Terrible lock screen. The information contained with the app is fantastic and is everything that would be needed in the car of an emergency. On the other hand the lock screen integration with lollipop is horrible, it always replaces the lock screen with it's own, dated lock screen just to open the app. Once this gets a modern lock screen or better integration with the current versions of Android this will be fantastic.

Anna R

Useful, but atrocious design Unquestionably, the core of the app is useful, and does what it needs to do. The problem is that the visual design is beyond appalling. Ugly is a massive understatement. I use minimalistic text to bypass the widget, but nonetheless, something needs to be done, both in this app and in the category in general.

amber maltby

Great app Love this app. The only problem I have with it, is it won't let my alarm clock go off. I set my clock for 1 minute and it didn't go off until I unlocked the app. This needs to be fixed and I'll rate it higher. I use my alarm for many different reasons and I need this fixed or it will be a waste of $4 cause I'll have to Uninstall it.

Tom Huber

Outstanding ICE App Functionality Multilingual support great for traveling. Simple, fast tab-based navigation for ICE responders. Works great with or without PIN unlock. ICE slide-to-unlock screen comes up on top of PIN lock screen after configurable delay (2sec is perfect for me). Put the ICE icon on your home row for easy access. The only feature it lacks is an always visible ICE icon in the notification bar, like weather apps show temperature.

Kristen Shaw

Lock screen issue I had this app on my lock screen for about 3 weeks. Since then, I've had trouble with my alarms in the morning. I set 3 sound alarms daily- this app causes first alarm to not make any noise, and automatically snoozes it. If the phone screen is dark, alarms will not make noise even if they're set to. Once the screen is bright (and remains bright) the other alarms will function properly. I just tested this by disabling the ICE lock screen and now my alarms work perfectly. I'll update my review when fixed.

Joe Baratta

Great concept, terrible execution This app should be amazing, but isn't. Plain and simple. It rarely shows up on my lock screen. I've noticed it only shows up if I've opened the app before locking my phone. Then it does, and works great... under the assumption I pre open the app EVERY TIME I use my phone. The whole idea was a just in case, not a "hold up emergency situation, I need to unlock my phone, open a specific app, lock my phone, then it might work to do it's only job."

Leo Fedor

It works but there are tradeoffs If you have health issues that make it likely that a first responder will need your health information this is a good app. I do not but wanted to have this information readily available *just in case* since we never know. This app makes its own lock screen and it behaved strangely from the start. Weird to always be dropped into the Google App after unlocking the phone. Might help, certainly will not hurt.

David D

Very well done Notifies emergency responders of the medical information they need while giving you control of your privacy.

Patrick Thompson

Still has a bug Love the app, have used on several phones now. But S4 and now S7 the app let's you in but then takes you back to the Ice screen. Have to slide the bar again. Author noted earlier response to put as lock screen widget, but that capability was removed in the later Android versions. So now just stuck with the bug until the author fixes it at some point. Otherwise it is fantastic.

Deb Morrissey

Causes reboots I like this app, but I have determined that it is the one causing my Moto X to randomly reboot and run down my battery. So it's got to go

A Google User

Abandonware??? Used to be an excellent 5 star app. Latest version no longer backs up data, nor exports. 3 months with no reply to support help request emails. Will upgrade rating if and when developer replies with help. Very disappointed with lack of response from a dev who used to respond to emails within a couple of hours.

Peter Marshall

A must have This works so well on my galaxy S3 and so important if anything happens to you. I have an 8 digit security code. ICE works great with it with no problems at all. DONT BE TIGHT GUYS BUY IT you won't regret it. I would like the programmers to change to allow us to copy and paste into the apps

G Me109

Have to swipe twice The app does what it's supposed to, but more times than not I have to swipe twice to unlock, which is annoying as hell. Also wish it wouldn't lock when using navigation. Edit: having to swipe twice to unlock has now become the norm, I want my money back! Edit: Also doesn't work with Samsung’s S voice, if you use the lock screen feature. Please fix.

Shiff Gamer

Please read could you please update the ui and the possibility of a nas other than sd Great application and works well with family medical records similar app but needs updating and also would love to see the bility to backup to your own nas network attached storage and to be a little bit smarter wont unlock screen please

Roy Collings

Doesn't show on my lock screen Apparently this only shows on certain os' lock screens. The workaround doesn't work if you use pattern lock either. That should be clearer - I only bought this because I wanted the lock screen feature, without that it's basically useless to me.

Sharon Boudreaux

I cannot recommend this app highly enough. It gives adequate space for notation of conditions, medications, and providers. It gives easy access to live-saving information to EMS personnel without creating a data security risk. I personally use the app, so can attest to the usability of its features. I've shared links to this app multiple times and will do so again every time the opportunity comes up. 7 out of 5 stars!

Jan Frisk

Could have been great Would have got five stars if it did not mess up the alarm clock. Alarm clock is ded quiet when lock screen is activated. The option to prevent this does not work either. I'm on a Samsung S3 mini with 4.1.2. Fix this, please!

Jon Lysne

Needs a Lollipop update. Since there's no more lock screen widget functionality in android 5.0, you guys need to update your app a little bit. The app unlock method has always sucked, and I refuse to use it. But on my last phone I could still have a widget on the lock screen. Not an option anymore. this app is now useless to me until it's updated for the new OS.

Matthew Jeschke

screws up lock screen. now you have to press a button to get to you lock screen. why not just make this a permanent notification that shows up on the lock screen instead of a WHOLE new lock screen. super annoying. wish I hadn't bought this. when i am trying to quick access my phone I can no longer press the finger print button and unlock my phone. I have to get out of the ICE screen to access the lock screen. God this app is annoying.

Lock screen leaves a lot to be desired. Routinely switches to other languages by accident. Can't play voice mail messages bc the ICE lock screen comes up after about 2 sec of message playing. Over and over. Sometimes when you unlock, it briefly goes away for a second, then reappears and you have to unlock again.

Pamela Michele

Sorry I Paid Not sure if it was Lollipop but it doesn't matter, all apps must optimize for major uodates. Wish I'd never paid for an app as nice as this that will not work with MAJOR ANDROID UPDATES. And BTW I know exactly how to use the app. Worked perfectly before Lollipop.

Andrea Moro

This is good but From the screenshot you can't understand the app create a second lock screen that overlay the stock one. This is unpleasant to see and annoying. If I knew it I wouldn't have purchased. And my little two cents. The contract people should have a field to specify the language spoken by the person

Leigh Dixon

Does a great job Does exactly what I expected, except that I have to swipe twice to get to my login screen. A little thing but surprisingly annoying. Fix that and I'd be thrilled! Galaxy S5 with Lollipop (5.0)

Wolf Willis

No longer works independently from security screen Most of us use a lock screen of some type and you cannot access the app without getting past lockscreen. The notification button pops up, but when you press it to open the app you are prompted for your passcode. It used to work, but not anymore. Since it no longer works independently from the lock screen, it is now basically useless and no longer serves its primary function. When the devs fix it so it starts working independently from the security lock screen on HTC-M8 One again I will give it more stars.
