Usuable Claim process just doesn't work. Allows me to take a photo and that's literally it. What a huge waste of time and phone resources. Uninstalling it and will have to settle for snail mail since you've taken away the ability to claim for some items via the Web. Crap HCF.
Unstable and unusable Application is unstable on both our new phones and its impossible to complete a claims process. HCF support is non-existant on this and they referred us back to attending a branch. The quality of this app is unacceptable given its part of a paid member service, though as we've experienced with many other aspects HCF such as the broken HICAPs interfacing and need to manually send in claims for services that no other heath provider appears to have trouble with (e.g. naturopathy) , or the dodgy practices around offering discounted dental only to less reputable dental services in the area but not to practices that focus on preventative measures, I suppose we should not be suprised they can't get a functioning mobile application! Please test your apps before releasing them and sort out all your issues HCF.
Ridiculously hard to use This app is almost absolutely useless. The claim process just creates an email which you can do yourself with a scanner and an email address. Fails to load constantly so have to redo claims about 3 times before it loads. Disappointing for the amount of money paid to HCF on a monthly basis.
App works fine Downloaded app, took photo, made online claim. BAM! Works as intended what more do you want?
Cheza Would be a good app if it didn't stop working half way through your claim. I think it's time you guys fixed the bugs! There are a lot of unhappy people out there.??
Needs work I have a PDF receipt. Why do I need to take a picture of it to send it in? Not a well thought out app.
Has potential Photo claim crashed several times before it went through but once done the turnaround to process claim was efficient and easier than having to post and fill out a form.
Nothing Works! Takes forever to load. When it finally opens the main screen the app closes when you try to move to another screen. Frustrating waste of time. Has the potential to be a great app.
Fix the bugs! Well I got ask excited about having electronic claim again. Why they stopped email is beyond me. Anyway, first time it crashed on taking a picture. Been fine since, but every claim I make fails and sends me an automated email ' This is an automated reply please do not attempt to respond. You will need to begin the claim process again as a recent claim received from yourself cannot be processed. It was either changed before being sent or is an invalid claim.' I did not edit! On HTC one m8. Please fix!
Over trying to use this This app is unstable it's only purpose seems to be sending automated responses that tell you your claim cannot be processed and needs to be resubmitted. Catch 22 joke. For the amount we pay in premiums the least HCF could do is launch something stable. How about using PDF for scanning the claims and submitting them? Don't have any problems submitting documents to any other suppliers except this one. SO I resort to the website via my Desktop and it sends me a message saying 'An email has been sent to the email address you have registered with us. Please click on the link in the email to reset your password.' Maybe I will be dragging the paper forms to a claims office. Disappointing.
Rubbish. Not a 'real' app. This looks and feels just like a webpage that's been wrapped up and stuck on the Play store. It's slow and clunky. Why even bother? If you're going to cut corners like this, just do a mobile web site.
Not Stable Needs to be fixed up still crashes often when submitting claims and doing anything in generally! Its not even worth using causes more frustrations than benefits
Ugh. Where is the testing and bug reports going?? I thought a couple of bad reviews might have just been unfortunate experiences. 2.4 stars? Getting suspicious now. Tried to read the FAQ page; 'canceling your cover' was the first item (hint hint). Wouldn't left me even follow that link!!
Can't login Typing in the password field of the login form has no effect, so I can't login and make a claim. 28MB is also huge, why so big?
Useless junk... Avoid this piece of rubbish. It won't submit multiple claims successfully, it compacts your photo and then looses image quality so it can't be read. It has no close function. It doesn't matter how often you explain that the app is broken to the call centre either, they just ignore you. Basically a it's a photo extension that emails... Very Badly. Uninstalled...
Awful I couldn't even get past the sign up page - fields wouldn't accept my DOB. So I took my Galaxy S3 into the branch and they couldn't do it either! So they called tech support and after 15 mins on hold we all gave up. Great job at wasting my time HCF. I think it's time to compare the meerkat!
Can't change the claimant name I have a family policy, and I can't change the name of the person that the claim is for, the list comes up but clicking the correct name does nothing, it just defaults to the same name. useless app.
Bit weird Who designed this horrible app? It just attaches a photo to an email. Anyway worked out how to use it. I think. We'll see if they ask for any further info.
Got my pass word wrong twice then it booted me out for an hour.
After reading the reviews I knew it would be bad but honestly I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. Would be nice to be able to look at claim history.
Can't even sign in as it won't select my dob. Stupid!!
Don't bother Does not work on a Samsung S4 or a Nexus 7 2nd gen. Freezes or won't function on certain tabs.
Locations not working None of the Google maps appear

Unable to login.... And then I read the reviews......says everything. Uninstalled before ever successfully logging in. Forget it.
The app works very well when one knows that the menu key on the phone allows you to page through and complete a claim.
Doesn't work! Absolute crap. Not one receipt went through to HCF even after the app said it did. Don't even bother. Staff were not helpful at all when I questioned them why it wouldn't work.
Email won't send After taking photos for claim, email states has sent but actually hasn't. This happened multiple times. Simply unable to make claim this way.
Claims rejected without cause Worst app ever. Force closes and when it doesn't the claims are rejected as invalid. Can't reuse the same photos. The list goes on.
So easy to use, photograph the paid account, select member name and send email. Couldnt be easier
Total junk This app is total junk, text so small its hard to read obviously not optimised for phones, estimator requires full details of purchase, so obviously this is not an estimator. Requires you to magically know the item code.... REALLY? I blind monkey could do better than this
Saved me a lot of time I did not know about this app until on the phone to hcf call Centre who informed me about it. I seem to collect receipts as I avoid going to the local westfields which is a building site right now. This app is glitchy and took me several attemots to work or how to process claims. Instructions not clear and options are hidden. But now that I have worked it out and received my confirmation email I like it. Needs a log out option and also improving the instructions and menu. But overall saves time.
Hopeless waste of time Have tried several times over the past week to make this app. work with consistent error messages. Call centre staff unable to assist. Don't bother installing it on an HTC One.
What help? Going on line up to 5/6 times over days to try and get this stupid so to work!! It has 1 more chance then I go back to online and posting. Pretty poor or are not dissatisfied users reporting how useless it is
Buggy. The bane of my existence. Doesn't work with google camera, changing screen orientation after photographing a receipt will often delete the receipt. No way of signing in permanently. Just a terribly designed and buggy app.
Needs work The app is currently the only way to make a claim without posting a receipt. Crashes often and needs screen rotation.
Doesn't work The app looks good but it can't be used! No testing done it would seem!
No submit tab Put in membership number password then no login tab 6 attempts I give up hitting the uninstall button
Hcf in general = fail... Was first (via 5 minutes phone chat after 35 minutes on hold)advised information on the use of the app for large (braces) dental claim. Was advised the app is "new & improved" when I raised the app concerns. Was advised no claim form would be required. So, used the app for the claim, have now received a letter in mail advising the full claim will need to be posted, with form. From recent experience and seeing other comments here, I'll be looking for an alternative fund, just after I uninstall this crap....
Can't login It's amazing in this day and age that this app could get into production (made public). This is a terrible reflection of the company especially as I was using this app as my physio can't claim with HCF directly anymore. Can you recommend a fund that will look after me? [Update] it appears this app does not acknowledge multiple card holders on the same account. So the instructions on the forgotten password screens are not correct
Too many bugs. Great idea but it's got so many bugs it's practically unusable. Log in fails. Then camera api fails. Then app crashes. Uninstalling now, might try again in 6 months.
This app was brilliant until its latest upgrade in Nov last year. Yesterday I tried to log in six times. After uninstalling, it took another three tries for it to open. Please fix this!
Problematic I have used the app to successfully claim once and since that time whenever I attempt to upload an invoice the app crashes. Not good enough! Might as well not have an app!
Crappy login system I'm already registered to hcf online fine but not in this app. Changed my password successfully and still cannot log in! Get it right HCF!
Terrible app Such a basic app that doesn't even let me log in. In all honesty a 15 year old could have done a better job. They have clearly put in minimal resources in the development of this app. I look foward to waiting on hold again for an hour only for them to tell me they will schedule a call back for the next day.
Blacked out buttons Will not let me login. All the buttons are blacked out and there is no login button, uninstalling app.
Crashes when saving a photo It used to work. I want to email a claim in and when I take the photo to save for submission it crashes. Disappointed as I don't have time to go in.
Good Features Yet Claiming Doesn't Work I rarely have to use this app, but when I do I can find most imformation & it works. Now I need to make a claim for Optical & this app keeps failing in uploading the receipt after taking after taking a picture of it. Also, there is no feature to preview the photo after taking it to check if it is clear. As more feedback, there should also be an option for Android users to select a document to upload from their device or take a picture. 3 out of 5 just because other features work. HCF - you can do better!!!
Crashes every time Used to be a great app. Now it crashes every time I try to save a picture of my invoice. Have tried over a few weeks and even uninstalled and reinstalled. Will resort to snail mail!!
Near flawless This app has improved out of sight! Way better than it was. Great update!
Needs gallery upload Very convenient and fast, but sometimes invoices are in pdf / screenshot / email. So would be good if I could upload an existing screenshot, not print a hard copy and then take photo of it

Not bad... Had trouble initially with stalling and stopping, so it was unusable. I was going to uninstall, but gave it another chance and what do u know, its working far better! Quick claiming, take a photo, tick a box and hit send. So far so good! If it stops again tho, i will uninstall. Moto x.
Great idea.. poor execution Good idea to make things easy instead of being on hold for the call centre, but half of the features don't work!
Appalling app The app does nothing except stop working. It really serves no purpose and feels like HCF just thought they should have an app without thinking about what it should do. The claim functionality is just taking a photo of the form and then you email it. It gives you no progress, no history. It's a waste of time
Slow and pretty much useless This is a very slow app. I dont understand why it takes so long to do what it does, which isn't a lot. It also periodically hangs, just when you're trying to find out info about your account or log a claim. If you manage to get a claim logged, there's nowhere to check on the progress, so you'll need to call HCF anyway.. painful.
Worst app ever The idea behind this app is great being able to use it is another thing entirely. It freezes all the time, photo of receipt doesn't save have to start it all over again, not sure if claim has gone through cant seem to find a way to check. I was very surprised at just how bad this app is, it appears that it wasn't tested before being released snail mail is a lot less frustrating.
Claiming doesn't work. You can take a photo but then the app crashes.. not useful for anything I need to do..

Terrible App Almost completely useless, I'd give it zero stars if I could. Want to check a claim you made ... Nup can't do that, want to check how much you can still claim ... Nup can't do that, want to check anything remotely useful ... Nup can't do that. Also forces you to enter your password every time you log on ffs
Gone backward Just updated to new version. Not only dies it crash all the time, you have removed the ability to check your claim photo after digitizing, which ofter results in rejected claims. This app just became USELESS to me.
Great app. Changed my password and lodged a claim within two minutes. Seamless.
It won't let me log in. This is now the newer version and I still can't login. I can at least enter my ID an password but I can't see or get to an enter button. Very. Dissatisfied.
Login fail every time After creating my account on the hcf website, I downloaded the app, as a new customer. Every time I try to log in using the app, it says the information is incorrect when it is most definitely CORRECT. This has left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm wondering if, perhaps, I should have gone with a different company for my health insurance. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4. Please fix this issue. The app is otherwise useless.
App crashes when taking photo This app used to work prior to the update. I only use it for claiming. It is useless now. I tried uninstalling and reinstalled it again but got the same failure when I took a photo of my receipt to upload. The claim part of the app is a waste of time trying. Bitterly disappointed and now have to go into a location to lodge the paperwork manually.
Some things work. Some are broken. Galaxy S6 Edge. Logging in is okay once it's set up. Checking remaining limits is completed broken since it displays every benefit as $0 left. I called HCF and they confirmed that my remaining limits were still full. I've checked on different phones as well as other family members the issue seems consistent across the board. The app displays your information like your membership number, policy, and premium well but what's the point of an app if you can't use its practical features?
Claim submitted via app in Jan 2016. Letter received dated 18 March 2016 saying no receipts received. Login failed after 3 attempts. Uninstalling.

Why no gallery option I have an emailed receipt but can't use it as to make a claim you can only take a picture. Looks like back to the website for claims for me.
Crap as! Constantly crashes
Worst app ever Every time I take a photo of the receipt the app converts it from a high res photo to an unreadable low res photo and my claim is rejected.
Claim by photo This does not work. I have reported it and have had no response! Each time I take a photo I get a message telling me that HCF has unfortunately stopped. This is distressing as I can't afford to have the refund out of my bank for the length of time it takes to claim snail mail

HEY LYN!! IT DOESN'T WORK! ! Updated today current version, login is fine. New user so my first use was to search for service providers. I enter town or postcode, press the search icon but the cursor just blinks and goes nowhere . Samsung note 4, but don't blame the device as it's fine with every other app I use, back to the drawing board? , with so many bad reviews maybe it's you, not us.
Unable to claim online Take photos of reciepts, save to claim..:unfortunately..HCF has stopped". Tried reinstalling to no avail..frustrating. Call helpline,they cant help it must be my phone!.

Reinstalled app on my tablet today and it worked perfectly. My claim was submitted with ease.
Doesn't work Basically takes all the information you input and then sends it by email through whatever email app you use. However, although the email is in the 'sent' folder, they claim not to have received it. When you contact them they refuse to accept that the claim is sent by email. I've found it easier and quicker to just send the claim through the post
Needs ability to upload receipts or capture screenshots Has some ok functions but annoying when you have a pdf receipt then have to print it out to then take a photo.
None too good Tried to take a picture of a tax invoice to make a claim. When you take the picture and press send it says: "Unfortunately HCF has stopped working". Yes, that is unfortunate. Tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the app, no luck there. Otherwise the app isn't particularly good. It would be cool if you could make requests to change further contact details on the app, like requesting to only be contacted by email instead of being sent mail to your address.Might be my SG4, but it's a lame app.

Unhelpful Its great that I can get an estimate of my benefit. But, how you expect your customers to know what 'Service Number' for General Dental to then calculate the estimate is beyond me.
Needs more work Getting an estimate is confusing, finding a HCF providers only shows results for Sydney. This app has been slapped together with no testing. Needs more work.
APP work fine for my purpose anyway. ONLY USE to view TOTAL REMAINING BENEFIT... repeat TOTAL... NOT individual payable PER VISIT. For certain "service item" you MAY need to get from DOCTOR. BEFORE you get "benefit estimation" ( repeat pervisit ) to calculate. PERFECT for view remaining benefit , HAVE NOT TRIED online claim prefer GO TO BRANCH.
Bug fixed Looks like the bug is fixed. Successfully saved my receipt pic after uninstalling and reinstalling the app today :-)
Useless Stops every time a photo is taken for a claim. I've unloaded it and reloaded it and the same problem occurs. This app doesn't work!
