What am I doing incorrectly? I noticed that after X number of notes on the fretboard my tab gets pushed wide left and collides with the time signature of the tab. Upon adding even more notes on the fretboard, the previous notes get pushed even more left. At first, I thought it was an issue with my phone's orientation (landscape versus portrait). I tried to reorient my screen. That did nothing. NOTE: I do not encounter this problem when viewing the preloaded tabs the app came with. Help, please!! Once fixed, 5 stars!! Hands down!!

Charles Hulsey

Great Love the pocket guitar pro. It's great for travel for when I can't play my guitar. Would love to give 5 stars once the playback smooths out more. But fantastic app. Love the guitar pro.

Craig Hamburger

Thieves I paid 6.59 for the app and then another 2.99 for a monthly subscription to have access to tabs but to download tabs it's gonna be another 1.99 to 2.99 per tab better break out your check book these guys are thieves

Tyler Finley

Very useful Its nice to have when you just come up with a riff. You can tab it out right then and and there and play it back to yourself on a later date so you never forget what you did. And there are a lot of pre loaded songs, scales, chords, the whole 6 strings (or 8 as i prefer) to further your knowledge of the guitar. In other words, this app is well worth your time and effort

Andrew Yorkovich

Fantastic This is a great app for on-the-go writing. I made the mistake of thinking it would be like and have the capabilities of the computer program. If you are thinking about getting this, keep in mind that it is nothing like the computer version. Let me run through some pros and cons... Pros: It can read almost any Guitar Pro file. You can use it in multiple views: tab, slash, standard, tab+standard. It's mobile (you can carry it with you and write on-the-go). Cons: It is limited to basic note editing (hammers/pulls, bends, palm mutes). It is not very intuitive or explanative (you have to play around a little bit to get it). On my phone, it doesn't rotate to landscape mode when writing my own tab, but it does for downloaded tabs. Overall, though, it's a fantastic app, though I would suggest for future updates adding some more notation editing and fixing the landscape/portrait problem.

Dylan Dewhurst

Please fix the let ring Mobile GP is hectic but it doesn't stop ringing out when notated to stop ringing out, just keeps going and makes a bunch of horrible clashes, makes it hard to practice with on the go. I assumed it would be fixed by an update very soon as is probably tbe biggest problem with it but it hasn't been. Please sort, thanks arobas xxxxxxxx

josh tate

Super! Easy to use ad fun to play with! I transferd all my computer files from the original to my tablet and they work great i just wish i could install musical tabs from the internet into the program itself instead of dragging them from the computer but oher then that it is amazing and it does what its supposed to!

Freddie Burrow

Great appt for the phone. I have more than 48,000 GP3-GP5 files that I put on my card and they work seemlessly. Is it as good as the one on my comp? No... and it shouldn't's a phone. Does it work like I need it to and convenient... Absolutely.

Devin Wowk

Problems writing The tab writing is full of awesome features but write too much and it all scrunched together and pushes past the time signature and only plays the first 6 or so when in playback. I see someone else had the same issue. Like him, 5 stars if it's fixed. I need this. :(

Sam Speight

Not digging it I've been perfectly happy without this app since before the invention of apps. I was browsing other guitar apps looking for something new when I left my phone unattended for my toddler to sabotage. She managed to push buttons and buy it. Figured oh well I'll give it a shot. It really seems handy for writing tabs but I have no use for this I hate the options and the constant pay to play mentality. Wish I could get my money back

Da C

Decent Its great except the fact you have to download guitar pro files from your computer and its quite a hassel. Also creating music isnt the easiest

Shaun Booe

Not bad, not as good as PC version My only complaints are the differences in the RSE and the lack of being able to write multitrack.

Sohanndy Bastardo

It's extremely hard to write music on this app. Also why can't I write more than one track? Really defeats the purpose of having this app by limiting it to one track only.

James Jackson

Works so far The web server didn't work, but I'm just getting started with the program. Transferring the file manually worked fine.

John Paro

Great Tool Most helpful on the fly... being able to pull up songs works great for impromptu jams. Then the ability to go thru and edit some tabs for an easier walk about is great!

malachi choate

Not quite as good as Guitar Pro 6 but for a phone app this is totally worth the buy you can't get as specific as gp6 but it gets the job done and you can at least get your ideas down so overall this is a great app to get.

Guitar Dud

wonderful This is a wonderful app for learning songs. Not so good for writing music. But it is exactly what I was looking for. For anyone who wants to learn songs this is the app.

Kishan Narine

Worth the purchase App makes learning new tunes so easy. Easy to playback tabs and jump to various sections. This is the only tablature app I need to use. They also made it super easy to add new tabs

Steven Laframboise

What Happened? When I first downloaded this app it worked perfectly. Now it seems I can't even access the downloaded files to transfer them onto my phone. Aside from this problem that makes this app completely useless. It was great for anyone to be able to learn with convenience.

Ramon Lorenzo

App is nice, but... Never got response to my emails to support. To download songs from MySongBook one has to pay 1) for the app; 2) for a MSB subscription, and; 3) for each MSB tab you want to see/play in the app. If like me you want a tab player to follow with your instrument, there are better cost/benefit alternatives around.

Jose I Hinestroza

Very cool This is a extremely useful app for those looking to learn how to play a song very quickly, without going to the pc

halddry gonzalez

Pretty good for an app The sound its not awesome but its the best tab player and the best way to make it portable on your table

Fokkaðu Þér

I was hoping i could use this to write music on the go, but you cant add drums or anything to the riffs, also cant do harmonic notes or sqeels and many other things, you cant even edit already existing gp files on this thing. but its useful for reading gp files and to learn songs, but terrible for writing music.

Alex Pullan

Would like to see.... If possible could an option be added to make the scrolling cursor scroll smoothly like the pc version instead of jumping from note to note? Also it doesnt interpret hammer ons and pull offs accurately like the pc version when viewing existing tabs. Some alternative zoom options would be nice like a pinch zoom. Otherwise its an invaluable tool for my learning!

Jason Wisener

The sound quality is poor. The sound quality is poor, you can't turn off "let it ring" options.

Bashir Partovi

freaking genius awesome app, you could easily upload your songs from your computer to your phone (it is actually a built-in feature). works great on my phone.

Jonas Steinman

Great teaching/learning tool. Have relied on this & some of its counter parts for years. This does so much for so little money. Very small learning curve.

Thiago Cerqueira

Amazing app This APP is amazing for who's search for musical improvement on guitar. Off course u need to know some basics. But it's awesome

RIch D

Good for reading tabs. One track writing is pretty useless and playback sounds are terrible

James Aird

Amazing App As a musician and Bass Player the portability on the mobile phone is great for quick reference during rehearsals.

Dont know how to print. How i can convert gpx file to pdf file?

Fransua Dean

Sweet Put your tabs in folder on phone just open it via this app

Wes Robertson

Decent Its good for the price but doesnt have many features at all when it comes to the notepad. Without the features of writing simultaneous tracks, being able to change tempo and time sig mid piece, not being able to set group note values, and no auto bar insert it among other things, makes it good for only small phrase writing. Great tab player though!

Názaro de Brito

MIDI Why doesn't this app read MIDI files? If there was this resource I would give 5 star... other things are nice.

Mathew Mascorro

A must have The best guitar app out there. I wish I had this in high school.

Has so much potential There is really no point seeing you cannot have multiple tracks. At least allow up to two tracks one for a rythem and a lead. You also cannot edit the guitar pro files you download and ultimate guitar the website links to download guitar pro files don't work on the phone. So it would be better if there was some way the app could interact with ultimate guitar to download tabs. I would rate this app 5 stars if these changes were made in an update.

Benjamin Pennington

Don't know how to add tracks to notepad Is this even an option for androids or tablets? I write percussion as well as guitar so this is kind of an inconvenience. Otherwise great app

Matt Harding

Love it Originally rated as 1 star as couldn't get any of my old gp3,4,5 files to work no matter how I added then to my tablet. Tried downloading a new gp5 file online and it works with no problems. Must be something wrong with my old files! Any way, love this app

David A

The video you show is not accurate The version I have in my tablet is not equal to the version you show in the video, I can't print the tabs

Stuart O Neill

Excellent app version of the desktop software I have used GP for a long number of years on my desktop.i now use it on my Galaxy Tab S while working offshore. I imported my library from my PC and it runs very well. No problems so far.....excellent app all round

Mikhail Chuga

Add ability to add and edit more instruments (bass, drums, etc).

Николай Родионов

What should be done else. 1-possibility to edit all tabs downloaded from pc. 2-possibility to choose saving format, gpx,gp5, pdf, txt and etc., 3- possibility to make and edit drum tabs.

Sasha Savitsky

The best.

Sam Shashkin

Must have

Andrew Grant

Just about perfect Display and play tab/notation in 3 sizes; optional playback metronome; increase/decrease playback speed; select specific measures and tracks or play all; playback once or on repeat: a great practise tool. Interface is clear, intuitive and responsive. Includes a music manager for organising your collection, and a single track notepad for jotting down TAB by fret number or virtual fretboard. Integrates well with PC version for full editing. Great value, highly recommended.

Chazz Cubillos

The app is great really useful to write songs on the spot or work or riffs. The only thing that really NEEDS improvement is the fact that you cannot edit any preexisting tab, you can create it but no edit a tab that you downloaded or a tab that you created on the computer and edit it on the phone app it's an excellent app but that one upgrade would make this hands down the best app for guitar

Guitar Dud

wonderful This is a wonderful app for learning songs. Not so good for writing music. But it is exactly what I was looking for. For anyone who wants to learn songs this is the app. allow me to make it clear. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to read song notes without reading music.

Bogdan Gherman

Love it and still do! It is the best app there is for all your tab needs! There are still a few improvements that would be great to have but overall is awesome!

Alfredo Ortiz

Awesome on mobile All the songs i wrote playes perfectly on mobile. It doesn't have quite the same tonal quality as the PC paid version on computer, but it is just as good in terms with playback. No issues. I just wish we can edit the file on mobile.

Khal Migs

Issues with writing tabs So far so good.. but needs a hella improvements like writing in multi tracks and chord options so i won't write note by note every chord i want to place in the tab :(

Tristan Daniell

File corruption To put it briefly, the app works great - when it works. Unfortunately about half of my files have become corrupted for whatever reason and so I have essentially lost them. Idk if this is a common issue but it needs to be resolved.

Chad Stout

The app is great for mobile I'm satisfied but... The only thing I don't like probably has nothing to do with the app, just the people that make the tabs, I play a 7 string guitar and almost every song I know played on a 7 string you can only find 6 string guitar tabs for :/

Chad Wouster

Not what was expected I can not get it to turn sideways there is no rse sounds it lags on loading notes while playing i love the pc version but i am very disappointed in wasting my money on this app if the maker could contact me to help me maybe id change my rating on it but until then im not very happy with it

Kev East

Good This is a good app but could do with improvements to UI, very fiddly when creating tabs. Also couldn't figure out how to do whammy bar dips and a few other things. But otherwise really good, easy 4 stars.

Jared Herz

Good It works as more of a note taking device then the full version of Guitar Pro on the computer. The one thing that I wish this had that would make this 5 stars completely was the ability to make multiple tracks, and the sound emulators are pretty bad honestly.

Artemis Cephei

Great practice tool. Bad writing tool. You can practice all of your songs, all of your favorite musicians songs, anywhere, it's great. However if you want a portable writing tool, this doesn't even come close to the home version. I'd like to see that added in a patch: a detailed composition tool set. Great for what it is, just not what some are looking for.

Steven Payne

OK but has issues I have experienced Issues with the cursor (currently playing bar) not being on screen especially when looping sections.

Jerry Dubois

One major problem For my uses (reading and learning songs) it seems pretty slick and I'm loving it, but I have one major problem with this app, would it be possible to add a percentage to the tempo slider to know how much faster or slower the tempo you select is than the original tempo? If that was added I'd give it 5 stars and fully promote this to all of my fellow musicians who are on the road, this would be extremely helpful!

Jeremiah Gnagey

This is THE ap to have for music notation and tablature. As long as you have the software on your PC/Mac there is none better for music notation and tablature. I use it for my Banjo and the kids use it for piano and drums and bass guitar.

Dan Shuster

One track writing I think the app does a fine job of playing GP files, and I would recommend it for that. However, having been fond of the computer program to compose songs in tab format, I am waiting with anticipation for a version in which you can compose full songs on the go. I was reading the comments below to see if anyone had similar disdain to mine and I was pleased to see Arobas replied that they are working on Multiple track writing. I hope that the update is sooner than later, but I can be patient.

Franco Cardona

It's okay! For an on the go musician it's great to jot down ideas! Only downside is that you're limited to one track fix that and it'll be a definite 5 stars. Other than that I love this app! Really simple when it come to exporting files from your pc, I can easily export guitar pro files from my laptop in less than a minute!

Josef Wright

GP6's little brother Tool of destruction. Tool of my life

tom ryans

Nice companion to the desktop version The ability to create and edit songs on my mobile is very handy. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star app is it doesn't have a speed trainer, I really hope they add one. I'd also like it to start a new bar automatically after the last beat but that's not that you important to me. Arobas, if you're reading this PLEASE add a speed trainer! It would also be nice if I could choose where to save my gpx files so I can copy them to my pc easily without having to email them. Great job overall!

Eric X. Domenech

It would be better if it had a startup tutorial and said how to import your tabs. Other than that I love it

Devin Thompson

Exactly what I was looking for I used to play guitar until I had an atv wreck (traumatic brain injury, 3 weeks in a coma). I lost the ability to play. But I still have the musical know how. Now I can write tablature and it plays it back to me! It's not the same, translating feeling and emotions into numbers and notation, but it's a lot more than I had!!! Thank you for this app. I plan on getting a computer and the pc version so I can multi track.

Joe Davey

Worth it for note taking and reading old tabs I really wish I could edit tabs I've created in the computer version. That would make it five stars for sure. Still worth the bucks though.

Jon Giska

Nice, but could be better It's good on the android, but the apple version scrolls across the music instead of the jumping from note to note like the Google play version does. If both versions scrolled, it would be perfect.

Joe R

Awsome Just wish u could save at certain spots in the tab so u wouldn't have to search for a specific part... Like the beginning of a solo for instance

Davey Jones

I like it but... Maybe it's just how I'm using it but, I feel like each bar should be separated automatically according to the amount of beats in the time signature

Bobby Fiscel

WOW! I'm impressed! I first learned about this tool by a friend of mine, It's awesome how I can get this program through my device and take it everywhere I go. This thing is amazing!!!! Thanks for such an awesome tool. I give it 5 stars, simply because I can't give it more.

David Elson

The version I recieved doesn't have the multitrack/multi-instrument function, it's still better than any other tab app on andriod. Great job but still due for improvement.

Andrew Grant

Just about perfect Been using for many months and it's still great. Display and play tab/notation in 3 sizes; optional playback metronome; increase/decrease playback speed; select specific measures and tracks or play all; playback once or repeat. Interface is clear, intuitive and responsive. Includes a music manager for organising your collection, and a single track notepad for jotting down TAB by fret number or virtual fretboard. Integrates well with PC version for full editing. Great value, highly recommended.

Alexander Krow

Good Inferior to the desktop version, but you can learn songs from it quite well still. I wouldn't recommend it for composing compared to the desktop, but it's likely better than anything else for Android.

john doe

Why no speed trainer? The only thing I wanted this app for was so I could have the speed trainer from the PC version on the go. I was blown away to see it wasn't in here. This app is nearly useless for practice.

James Georgekish

Needs to be upgraded, but nonetheless a convenient writer's tool. Crashes everytime I have a great idea and loses all the data from the particular tab. There also seems to be no way to add dotted notes besides manually placing notes in a certain way (8th note + 16th note tie-in). I'd like to have a lot more control over my compositions, but the software feels very limiting. It needs to have more of the capabilities of its PC counterpart. Besides the rather primitive software setup, this is a very convenient app that I am otherwise pleased with. It needs upgrading.

Alexander Degtyarev

Quality of app is at the bottom You have no competitors so there is no need to make an app better. But there are plenty of possibilities to make it even better. For Android guitar pro is a half baked solution. No ability to hide frets, show multiple partitures simultaneously, drums and so on.

Canopy Chondros

Rubbish very buggy, why in the love of God does it keep corrupting my files, writing songs takes ages on the mobile version anyway but when it keeps corrupting my files it's ridiculous. Kinda thinking this was a waste of money now..

Ross James

Perfect for what I need I bought this to learn some tabs a friend sent me. Turns out I could play along to it with a click and adjust the tempo, plus a few other features. I've yet to explore it fully, but reckon it's pretty good for a phone app

Dizzy O'keefe

Plays GP and other tab files It's great, but it would be better if you added a way to export midi files like on the desktop version.

Matt Blakeslee

What I've needed I don't know why I waited so long but this app is a life saver. It is a one track writer and difficult to start with how to use but once you play with it a bit, it gets easier. Also, the customer service is quick and detailed too. I contacted the developers and recieved quick, thorough and professional response. Basically it's this, you have an idea, write out and hear what ya have until you can jam it. I'm ridiculously satisfied with this and recommend it to anyone that needs a writer on the go.

Zakary Fravel

Corrupt file got me like DANG I'M HEATED. I got this app and fell in love the minute I started working with it. A lot of small features I'd really love to see, but over all, it does it for me. You know, understanding this is not supposed to be a full fledged Guitar Pro alternative. I finish an entire song with it last night, then go to open it today, and it's corrupt. Highly disappointed to the point I'm probably uninstalling until there has been a guaranteed fix. I look forward to improvements!

Steven Stratton

Can't open tabs from download app After years with this app, I still can't download a tab and open it from the Downloads app or a file explorer. This is ridiculous. The only way to open a tab is by opening the app and using its built in file explorer.

Carey West

Excellent, except.. This is wonderful for what it is. The only thing I would REALLY like to see is the ability to edit .gpx files in this app. The main reason I want to bring my tabs with me is so I can edit them to add ideas when I'm not near a computer, instead of only being able to create brand new tabs every time I have an idea.

Daniel Gustavsson

Great for playback. For composing, Meh! UPDATE: Crashes every other time when loading a tab after leaving a previous one. END UPDATE... I bought it to be able to write down ideas and riffs, but it's almost too basic even for that :-/ Common guys, desktop version is awesome. Let's bump this app to the top of the line. Show them other app makers how it's really done ;-)

Jim Fordrey

Almost perfect In general, this app is pretty handy. Useful for jotting down riff ideas quickly. However, it could benefit so much from multiple tracks!! I'm sure others would agree that riff ideas do not take long to escape your mind, and I could really use multiple guitar tracks and a bass track to really keep said riff ideas from disappearing. Particularly frustrating when the multiple examples on there ALL have multiple tracks. Any chance of this in the future?

Martin Davies

Perfect Got this so I could follow tabs on the move, have been using the desktop version since gp3 and this scaled down version is great, works perfectly on my x86 Intel android tablet and galaxy note 1(cm11). Its not a full suite of guitar pro,but that's not what this is for.

Dylan Monastra

Would rather have used paper and pencil After spending a couple hours tabbing a song i wrote the file corrupted. Not only that but the app would crash if i tried to cut a bar. When trying to copy and paste it would mess up the song. Would not reccomend

Anthony Davenport

This is a good app for the small riffs but... Grrat for writing those little one measure riffs, but I wish it would let you tab out more without smashing all your tabs together. Once you export the long version of your smashed out tab it will only play the first few measures then stop. I like the app, I just wish I could write longer phrases with it.

Youri de Boer

Finally I tried many apps just to view/playback tabs. Most of them are buggy, sound not in sync with tabs, unable to handle speed changes. Or they wait to long scrolling to the next line, so you can't see what the next note to play is. This app might cost a bit, but it does all those things right.

Kev East

Pretty poor This is an okay app but could do with improvements to UI, very fiddly when creating tabs. Also couldn't figure out how to do whammy bar dips and a few other things. But otherwise really good, easy 4 stars. edit: changed to 2 stars solely because you can only set tempo in increments of 4 bpm *facepalm* I recommend a different tab editor.

Kevin Miller

Hmm could use some work I'm having trouble with it crashing when I select a bar and try to cut it. So I had like 16 bar made up which took me some time and it crashed and I lost 14 bars worth of work. I would also like to be able to add notes in between notes, once they are put down without having to delete the bar or change the whole bar note by note just to add one

Dale Jones

Great I have been a fan of Guitar Pro since I was really young. This app is almost like the desktop version, but one can not edit or construct music as efficiently. Its excellent for learning tablature though.

Guillaume Racicot

Expected way more The interface is just awful. Navigation is a nightmare. I just wanted to read a gp5 file I had downloaded but it was too complicated. The layout of the partition could be wayyyyy better. Could be reworked with material design. The application was somewhat slowish, but it was bearable.

kerry Bennett

Kerry Just get what they offer for free. This app as nothing special that you should be paying for. Power tab is better and it's free. I want my money back. How the hell do you search for guitar tabs on this thing. Search always comes up empty.

No playback speed change for songbook? Alot of potential here. Glad to see they added transposition. I've been asking them to do that for the computer version for years. Biggest flaw is i can't learn songbook songs at different speeds. That is my favorite thing about guitarpro. I can't belive you guys would leave that a result i find i only use the computer version.

Sam Marsh

Dissapointed I was expecting to be able to edit tabs with this app but it's just like most guitar tab viewers already on the market that are for free. Except with out the crashing. You can make your own tabs but I wish to edit existing ones

Luka Cvorak

Great app.... but! this app is great and i can see why so many people are using it... but theres one thing id like to see added and thats being able to write and edit drums. im a drummer and write my own beats for practice/exercises at home on GP6 on my pc, why not be able to do it on the app aswell while im out and about and the beat is fresh in my head.

Marty Adams

Absolutely amazing app The only negative thing I can say about it is I'd really like to put all the instruments I want and write it out.... maybe I just don't know how but a user guide would make this app one of the best on my phone.

Excellent mobile version Does exactly what you'd expect. Takes a little learning to work out where everything is. Only thing I can't find is an option to change and transpose the tuning of a track, otherwise it would be 5 stars

Blake S.

Clunky Only single track tab writing that doesnt allow for changing time signatures. Not worth your time if you need these features, but it works fine if you don't

Jordan Jones

Works very well! My bad devs, forgot to update my review. Wasn't reading the tabs due to an error on my end, because it was on the external sd. Works fantastically now though, thanks for the response!

Dean Benton

Feel ripped off., As a long time guitar pro user, i purchased this app and was horrified to find no multitrack support as in the pc vereion. This makes it effectively worthless to me as a composer.

Andriy Su

Didn't understand is there a possibility to edit files after you save/export them to .gpx format. I assume there is none or interface is unclear. What is the reason for having the app where you can't modify your tabs after you save them?!

Daniel Grigg

Almost completely sold Is there a way to multi track?? This is killing me right now I would like to put at least 2 guitars at once.
