Convenient App has a bit more latency on an Asus TF-700T than I can be comfortable with for prolonged periods, but it is certainly convenient to not have to connect to the PC to play the piano. Piano sounded remarkably good. Will try on my Note 3 via OTG and see if I get better latency. Note that I don't fault the app for the latency. Android and real time audio aren't exactly synonymous. A good app and worth the price.

More I could have pressed refund but I believe more can be done. I need pitch bend wheel on the app and modulation wheel. So I can use it to control some stuffs on Cubase. I need more sounds. Dx, Vibes etc.

Android 5.0 changes everything! This app works fantastic with Android 5.0. I'm using my Nexus 5, an OTG cable and my M-Audio midi keyboard. With the latest Lollipop update I'm getting audio latency around 30ms which makes midi playback FINALLY possible. This app sounds great and connects as soon as I plug my midi controller in. The only issue I had when first setting up was turning off Stickmount which was trying to look for a USB harddrive.

Please update! Help! Pls. Update Midi support, all other midi apps work except this one! Lollipop 5.0.1 Shield Tablet. Thanks!

Michael Cain

Excellent sound quality It is probably the best piano out there . only think that let's it down is latency and buffer issues . when multiple notes are played bad cutting occurs .

Steve Gilberd

App is great, but really let down by Android's high input latency.

Verification error I love this app, but lately I have been turning off my WiFi to save battery life and I have a question, does this app use the internet to verify it has been purchased? Because i have been getting a message from the app that says it is not purchased, so I then have to uninstall and reinstall the app to use this, please look into this when at your convenience, thank you.

Very good but constipated by google's pitiful low latency implementation in android. If I don't use my midi controller, it works fine; but if I connect it, the low latency problems become obvious. I keep getting disconnect as well, although it is not a problem with my controller or probably the app itself. Google, it is time to make android a true and universal mobile OS.

Great app Is there any way to record via usb? Maybe create a midi file from an external keyboard?

Edmund Brisenio

Great Midi Software I have a Note 1 and Note 8 and Alesis Q 49. It work both Notes. There is just a delay when playing keys on the Alesis Q49. I will just await if there are some updates to correct this issue.

The Best app Fast, works for sure

What a Tool!!! Great tool for composing and study! I am a grad student in the Jazz History & Research M.A. program at Rutgers University Newark campus. I use the app for coursework & composition. It gives me a keyboard anywhere I want to study or create. My original review was much lower, because of the stuck-then-dead key issue. That was on the Noria/Chromo Diva. I exchanged it for their 8GB J model, and could not reproduce the problem.

Paracog Steadham

Sounds great, very playable, amazing value. While the latency is noticeable, this is a great sounding and valuable app for just having around to play around with some ideas. It's very playable for most comping and noodling around. The sounds combine really well. Comparable to a midrange stage piano in sound through my lightweight Sennheiser headphones. I look forward to updates that tighten the latency further. Update 9/14/13... keeps crashing while extracting a file, reinstalled 2x, same problem. Notified creator.

Good but expensive After looking for a MIDI capable Piano App I tried this one. Unfortunately the latency issues on Android are worse than I expected so I probably have to give up my dream of android based music production. Still a very good app and I am looking forward to updates in sounds and maybe also latency. Here are the results I get out of my devices, I used the same measuring as Dr. Leubner described in his blog with an Alesis ESI Midi Mate II and MIDI Keyboard: Samsung Galaxy S4 = ~303ms; Google Nexus 7 (2013) = ~113ms

giacomo aceto

Probably (I hope) I need help When pressing more than 2 notes the mobile stops playing any sounds and I have to restart the app. There is too way to play any kind of song. Even the easiest is uncomparable with my expectations. Do I need to change configuration? if so please let me know... Samsung S3 + M-Audio Keyrig 49...

Midi Doesn't Work Waste of money.

Bernie Malqued

Great Works as advertised

Steve Meiers

7 Stars - very happy MIDI user here on Nexus 7 I connected my old M-Audio KeyRig via USB OTG to my Nexus 7 and now I can play the excellent samples in this app in realtime with no noticeable latency. I can use the keyboard's transpose controls to shift up/down an octave at a time and use the onscreen keys for more range, too! Very cool! I could not get MIDI control to work on my Nexus 4 though,, which is probably the phone's fault and not the app. I am now VERY portable though! The KeyRig volume slider works too. Finally, wired MIDI support on Android, A++!

Djoko Prajitno

Excellent App Operate well on Samsung Galaxy Tab2 with cheap Chinese USB MIDI interface.

Stefan Nemenz

Great app!! Plugged it into my M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 with OTG cable on my Asus Eee pad and it worked perfectly

Works great! Novice here but it's cool to be able to practice without being shackled to my computer. If you have issues (had a transpose issue) the developer is very responsive to questions. The only thing left to desire is an instructional mode like some of the other apps with guitar hero type instruction.

Works well with Thinkpad tablet and midi keyboard Works very well with Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet (ICS). I plugged in the Evolution Midi 49 keyboard with the USB cable onto the tablet and the software automatically recognised the Midi keyboard. No fuss. I hope the developer will add in a record and save feature to let user save a recording session as midi file.

A Google User

Awesome Works well on my Toshiba thrive tablet with midi keyboard

A Google User

latency makes it unplayable

A Google User

Excellent Works perfectly with the nexus 7

A Google User

Works great on Android Prime It instantly detected my USB Akai MPK MIDI and let me choose to launch the program when the keyboard was plugged in by default. I didn't have to make any settings changes and I was able to play right away. If there's any latency when playing with an attached MIDI keyboard, I haven't noticed it. It's very responsive over MIDI, and I can't find any other apps that have this function. Definitely glad I picked this up!

A Google User

Five States Works perfectly on Samsung Galaxy S III with M Audio Key station Mini 32.

Vasek Krivak

m-audio axiom 61 and Prestigio MultiPad PMP5570 I connected m-audio axiom 61 keyboard and It doesn't work..

Seng Hian Ng

Connect my M Audio Keystation 88-es to Samsung S5 but not to Samsung Tab 4 as it does not support otg but i can still record my piano playing using midi in computer and use it for playback Acceptable midi keyboard latency by disabling some unuse function in the smartphone. Thanks Dr.Achim Leubner for very fast response when i get problems.I use quite a lot of professional piano samples in my computer but the Grand Piano Pro is one of my favourite since i can play it directly using smartphone in my pocket without extra sound card, use headphone or good speaker to enjoy fully its high quality piano sound with various nice reverb to choose from.

Danang Sugeng Nugroho

Not working on. This app is not working on Xiaomi Redmi note 4G. I use the paid version.

Geoff Mitchell

Almost there!just abit too much latency for live playing. Sound ok.

Sweet Home

Terrible It works with big mistakes on Fatar vmk188plus

Edmund Brisenio

No more delays At last, I found a phone that has no delay. With Asus Zenfone Max and my Alesis Q49, I can play live now. I used to have Samsung Note, but I cant play it live due to noticable delay.

Ricky B

Mr B Excellent purchase just a tad bit of delay in producing sound.

Dag Odenhall

Easy to use but expensive and limited So this works well out of the box with my MIDI keyboard, nice sound (but quiet) and low latency. That's about it though because there are very few instruments, you can't load your own soundfonts and honestly it's very expensive compared to the competition and considering what you get. Good for the non-technical who just wants something that works, I suppose, but the arbitrary limitations are annoying. Why is Keyboard Sounds a separate, equally expensive purchase? Same reason you can't load new soundfonts.

Joshua Doll

No way to close this app. Uninstalling until fixed.
