q: How can I share files with another device?
a: Look for an FTP client (every system like Android, iOS and Windows Phone has its own).
q: Why my transfer speed decrease when I turn off the screen?
a: Enable the option 'Lock Wifi'. If your device is running at least Android 2.3.x, you should get full speed transfer even when the screen is off, otherwise enable the option 'Lock screen' too.
q: How can I disable anonymous access?
a: Please follow the instructions in the help (open the menu from the main page of the application).

Almost perfect Pros: - Support download resume and multiple concurrent downloads - Supports anonymous access - Option to auto start at Android boot Cons: - No option to view hidden folders/files
No Support Don't purchase this thing. It doesn't work as advertised. I purchased and still don't have write access to the external card. Requested support - twice - and nothing.
Broken on Samsung Lollipop Excellent app. Note that this app cannot write to external SD without root if you are on KitKat - this is an Android restriction, and not a fault with the app (use internal storage as a workaround). If the app breaks after upgrading to Lollipop, try uninstalling and reinstalling app.
Working on Lollipop Working with Lollipop (no root). This app was my favourite utility app when I was running 4.4.4 and now it's working on 5.0, too. Great! :D
Stopped working with latest update Used it daily for the last 6 months - now it suddenly stopped working ..
simple and good easy to use. allows anonymous login with or without upload rights.
Excellent Root lets me write to "external" SD. Much faster and more compatible than using MTP via USB!
External SD support Can't copy to external SD card, permissions denied
Cannot import valid SSL/TLS certificate Rooted on Lollipop
does not run on s5 with L
The best and most reliable ftp server app (and I tried a lot of them) syncback so is able to backup my phone and maintain date and time stamps on the files so subsequent backups only transfer modified or new files
Excellent Best ftp app for android tv!
No more USB Hell If you connect your Android phone to your wireless network and you need to transfer files to / from it, then install this app now! I screwed around for hours trying to transfer files using a USB cable. In five minutes I was transferring files with this app to my Mac. Fantastic!
awesome app the other ftp servers were not working on my network...this one did. needs some improvements though...
Thank you. Very good. I need it for the ftp on port 21 that allows interop with malditos iPads the way I need.
Good App Just need more option features and flexibility. After all it's still a good app. Great App.
Didn't work. No go on my rooted Acer A1-810. Starts & then stops immediately. Why?
Great! FTP over Wi-Fi. A must-have! Definitely am recommending it.
Ottimo The fastest way to share mobile and Pc.
Easiest way to transfer files to and from PC
Easy to use and very reliable I connect on PC to it using filezilla .
runs worse then windows Not working on my nvidia shield. it opens, then it crashes. hoping that can get fixed soon
Excellent Did exactly what I needed and easy
Does the trick
Excellent! This FTP app allows access to the data folder which is just perfect for a developer like me. Sorry about the complaints about the ad blocker, I also know the pain of poor reviews just because I didn't allow people to steal from me as well.
Just what I needed! This FTP server makes use of root access if it is available. So you have (configurable) access to the whole file system and it runs on port 21. I am now backing up via wifi what's important for a transfer to a new phone since my usb port is broken on this phone. Only problem so far was it would hang unresponsive when I started it after shutting down my phone. Wiped it's data and set my user up again. Now working fine.
No longer works with ad blocker such bs... disallowing use of software just because I installed an ad blocker. I understand you need donations but forcing people to see ads is bs.
No response after connection I've installed ftp servers many times on various Linux and Windows systems, and used a variety of ftp clients, including commandline, with no problem. That said, this server connected, but then never responded with anything at all, so the ftp clients simply sat there waiting for the correct response. I tried it with both FileZilla and a bash commandline - nothing works, and there is no help that I could find.
Great job!! I can browse through all files on my first phone from my second phone or pc via internet..thanx for the free app..excellent work..
Works great! Root functionality is baus. The only additional feature I would I ask for is to add an intent which could toggle the FTP server state via the system level 'shortcuts'
Blocking adds..... .....on a free version? S***k your **** ;) I'll give money to some other dev :)
Good Need an option to start automatically when USB is connected.
Excellent I was looking for " allow for anonymous login" Thanks devs
Directory not available Will not work don't waste your time on downloading
looked great.. but... looked easy to setup and configure .. until you get to press the "start service" button, and nothing happens. totally unusable.
Wi-Fi white list does not working and compare to 1.0.3 interface much slower
Port 21 does not work Why it is written that I able to use standart 21 port and it is not true on some devices?
Not Start CS981 TV box on ethernet says ready momentarily then says stopped. No reason given. No support.
Doesn't work It stops by itself after few seconds
Nice but still won't let me see images Articles led me to believe I could see almost any file or folder on my Droid. Not so. Can't see the "Images" folder or the pics in my "DCIM >> Camera"on my Motorola Razr M with FTPDroid, but I can with Windows Explorer and a cable. Not sure what the reason is for having this. If it's just about losing the cable, who cares? I still have to plug it in to charge it.
Supports resume, root and sd card write access Tried a few and this ticks all the boxes, also fast
I just paid for the pro version, but FTPS connection fails with the message: "GnuTLS error -110: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated." I hope the app provides a default (internal) certificate so that the user do not have to make their own to enable FTPS. It requires lots of work.
The server does what it is supposed to do, it can access root directory, works stable. The only problem is that it keeps running in background even with the FTP service off, eating battery. I have to kill it with long-press of Back button.
Nice app. Huge Thumbs up! It would be nice if you could add an email feature so that when the program starts at bootup, it can send the Address used via email. This can be handy when you need to connect tour tablet which you left at home.
Astonishingly easy to use The most straightforward way to move files between pc and phone.
They all suck
Works perfectly Works perfectly as per the description
Transfer files over 3G ? Can you please help me ? I am trying to transfer some files from PC to a phone connected to 3G. I have disabled "Require WIFI". I've typed the ftp address on PC Internet browser but it just won't connect. I get internet page cannot be displyed. My phone is rooted. Please help. Does the pro version have the same issue ?
Rip off It's been almost a year since lollipop came out, still no support. Developer doesn't respond, app hasn't been updated since November 2014
Will only run for a few seconds at a time
Can't hide the icon. Like the main app However this is a review of just the pro key. Only buy this if you want 2 ftp icons next to each other. this key requires the free version to function, and there's no way to hide the key icon from the launcher. This is a huge oversight in a app key.
Simple, Effective, Powerful, and FAST! This is a good piece of development. The free version allows one user (Pro unlimited) account(s). Enable read/write access by creating an actual user account, with a password (the anon login allows upload, download, no rename, no edit only). This app provides a fast eficient method for managing files on your Android device, without Rooting, from Mac, PC, or Linux, even other Mobile devices!
You can't ask for more. Free version has AD and one user limit. That is completely fine! It creates local FTP which you can browse with Total Commander for example. This is a must for users with USB-c phones.
Perfect for local ftp I wanted a lightweight solution to host a file server when WiFi is not available. With this, I can use mobile hotspot to create a network for my friends to connect to, and then use this app to create the fileshare. All without them needing any special app. Just what I needed - thanks!
Function well enough for personal use Using over WiFi as very good option to share file of my mobile and from other devices. Anonymous renaming has some problems but that's fine I know where the new folder is created.
Previously gave it 1 star for hosts file check Seems like its no longer there, the app is convenient, unlike many other FTP servers for Android, root access works nicely. Will buy a pro primarily for the WiFi whitelist.
