Explore a world of strange and beautiful fractal patterns using your fingertips.

Fractou uses your device’s multi-touch interface to enable you to make fractal patterns in a completely new way. Every point on the screen corresponds to a different shape. Move your finger and the shape changes. Add more fingers and the fractals change again. There are millions of patterns to discover.

Fractou uses new twists on Barry Martin’s famous Hopalong algorithm to create unique orbit fractals you won’t find anywhere else. Designed for both phones and tablets, Fractou offers hours of mesmerizing fun.

Maths and art in harmony Fractou is an elegantly designed fractal generator that is wonderfully, simply interactive: Multi-touch control produces a complex patterning that is aesthetically pleasing. The app has a good range of settings to explore too. As I am a musician I would love to see (hear?) sound incorporated into the design in future versions, and then this could be the Android answer to Brian Eno's Bloom. Anyway, this is one of the best designed recreational apps available, really lovely.

Bravo. This app is unique and a standout in Fractal and Android software. Fractal lovers, I insist you try this app now.

Pretty neat! Stupid technology, if this was 15-20 years ago I would probably have ever lost my cell at a golf course at night somewhere.

Very good but I need a stress remover like bubble wrap

Simple to use, pretty, and fun

Looks cool, but disappointed. The app looks really cool, but I was disappointed when I saw that there isn't a way to save the images. I un-installed it after playing with it for just a few minutes.

John Mollenhauer

Good, but the image does not remain on the screen.

exellent but one question how to slow down "iteration rate"?

Fractou A type of fractal generating application using the "touch screen" of the Android phone. As you explore the functions of the app, you discover a kind of communication between your phone and you which is beautiful and digitally created via your fingers tapping the screen. Fun and beautifully exciting as you try to create a language with your phone. Thanks Alex for this application.
