ElectricSleep is a smarter alarm clock. Using your Android's accelerometer, it can record your sleep cycles and can try to wake you up gently during a light sleep cycle. The sleep data it records is saved and analyzed so that you can understand and improve upon your sleeping habits.
ElectricSleep's continued development is supported by Zeo. Some improvements have already been made and there are more in the works.
*records and saves your sleep cycle actigraphy.
*alarm clock gently wakes you during light sleep.
*analyzes sleep trends (debt, quality, duration, etc.)
*review history of sleep actigraphy
-Faster & more reliable database access.
-Re-organized settings layout for Honeycomb and above.
-The snooze button is now huge.
-Warnings are now more accurately shown when going to sleep.
-Sleep averages/times are always calculated correctly.

Zeo part of our Health & Fitness and have average installs from 100000 to 500000. Last Update Dec. 13, 2011. Google play rating is 79.7765. Current verison is 1.0. Actual size 719.0 KB.
Was best with original droid. Since then with every new phone it gets worse. (Incredible 2 / Samsung galaxy s3). Why does screen need to stay on? Drains power big time.
Excellent! I use this app every night. I have a sleep disorder, and this app is very helpful in figuring out how I can get the best rest.
Needs to be automatic I have to remember to activate the sensor every night right before I go to sleep. Juat make an option to have it turn on X hours before the alarm. Thanks!
Buggy. So buggy. Crashes every time I switch from portrait to landscape, so I turn auto-rotate off every night before turning the alarm on. Sleep graphs never start or end at the right times. They have evenly numbers indicating the time along the bottom, but the numbers usually skip, ie 1 2 3 5 7. The alarm is supposed to wake you up when you move. More often than not, the alarm simply goes off one snooze duration after my earliest wake-up time. In my case, 8:05 AM. I guess I'll have to tweak the sensor sensitivity even more. Alarm randomly also goes off at the end of the alarm window, after dismissed and sleep is rated and saved. BUT IT WORKS WHEN IT WORKS.
Pretty good Pretty good app, it would be good if there was an example of what a 'good' night sleep looked like though e.g. # of spikes & how to increase your rating. I realise this would basically be lower the spikes & increase the time but how else can you score >90% & how to lower # of spikes?
Update screwed up m FC every morbning is getting to where i want to uninstall... Disappointed froyo os now losees acccess to my notes on sleep. Like the additions but now it lost capabilities that made it great..
Working again Excellent until december 2011 update Been a happy user for months. Very annoyed that december 2011 crashes app EVERY time I use it. Had to uninstall and reinstall to get it working again so lost months' worth of sleep data.
Pretty good I like the app, and would recommend it. It would be helpful if it had the ability to look at periodic averages (i.e. weekly or monthly) whereas right now I can only check daily or the overall average. Would also appreciate the ability to schedule the app to run rather than doing it manually every time. Other than that, it's quite good.
Love it!!! It works perfectly! I charged my phone (galaxy y) upto 96%, expecting the battery to dwindle down to 30% while the flight mode is on. But when I woke up in the morning (very fresh that is!!) I saw the battery level was still 85%!!!!! This app is amazing!!! I wake up very fresh every morning!
Perfect... It's been two months (approx.) by today and I'm using it every night. Before I've used to set 4-5 alarms with loud sound along with panic sound sets (car alarm, red alarm, etc.). Since two months, every morning I'm waking up on-time (even before) and using very soft sound. Just ringing once or twice, then that's waking me up. Pre-alarm function works great. Thanks dev.
Doesn't really work for me I've been trying to use this to properly wake up for about 2 months now and it's never been able to wake me up and leave me refreshed like it claims. So far I've noticed no difference at all
I want to export my data! Great app (I would definitely pay for it). I'd personally like to be able to export my data to CSV or something. I've been reading, and it looks like you use a SQLite? That's a pain. Let me have my data! ;)
Good, but still some problems The app works great at waking me up, but the force screen on gives me some problems with my device (Samsung Stratosphere), as this feature does not go away after sleep is finished and the app is closed. Pressing the sleep/wake button and even holding it does nothing but turn off the screen. Pressing it again brings the screen back immediately, bypassing the lock. Attempting to reset my screen timeout and lock settings does nothing. Only solution is to manually restart the phone by removing the battery.
Works Works but results are skewed with other people/dogs in bed with you. Also my galaxy nexus gets incredibly hot.
It works but needs more features It's cool but it'd be better with :-a power nap function that wakes you up after a few cycles -more customizable alarms ( like math problems, captcha and shake to disable )
Amazing Wish it had weekly and monthly sleep reports. Amazing and informative none the less. Awesome app!
seems to work better once I understand it Not sure it is making it easier to wake up or not. I hate the rate your sleep stars as soon as I turn off the alarm, without my glasses it looks like I'm rating the program. I'd prefer to wait 5 mins and ask me when I'm able to see and think. I still have my backup alarm across the room to get my butt out of bed a little after this alarm goes off.
Great concept, sucks battery altogether This app is great and it's concept is even fantastic. I experimented with it for a couple of nights and it was fun to see the results in the morning. But I am not even kidding when I say it drains your battery life. When I sleep the battery is always full. Each morning I wake up to 15%-20% battery. I sleep for 7 hours btw. This was the one aspect I was not happy about. If this gets improved on, I would definitely reinstall the app.
does what it says shows movement spikes, lets you set sensitivity (which'll change depending on what bed you sleep in), wakes you when you move over that threshold within a specified window of wakeytime. i do notice many times that i'm sort of awake to hear the alarm vs the alarm dragging me out of a dream or black hole coma. i have never had the phone get hot either - it is cool to the touch (a complaint i've read on reviews for various apps that force the screen to stay on). ------1---it would be nice to have this go to the SD card, but at about 2MB it's not the big hog on my phone. 2---i agree that it would be nice to be able to rate sleeps later on (to save the sleep without rating), bc if i gotta do it right when i wake up, ratings are going to be arbitrary. 3---the biggest thing i'd like to see though is the ability to export data to analyze later. if i can't export it i would really love at LEAST to have the x axis be regularly spaced so i can get a good visual and divide spikes/hour myself (not counting when i know i was still awake or snoozing). right now it might read 1 2 3 5 6 8 all evenly spaced, and it's disconcerting because i don't know if the spacing or the numbers are accurate.
Guys. I love you. I'm am the WORST person in the morning. Cranky, tired, often groggy. I've struggled all my life with it, but literally over night you took all that away! Incredible life changing app. If the app mentioned sleep cycle in the name I would have found it before trying all the others (this is the best!).
Great! Love it! Can set it when I need to (I never can get to bed the same time every night because of work schedules), and it tells me what I want to know about my sleep. I don't know about what others are saying; my screen sleeps and I can switch to other apps, I use a white noise app too. I think it's the best app for this purpose for the Android. Perfect!
Pretty Neat Great for tracking the approximate amount of sleep you get. Also the alarm clock feature to wake you up is pretty neat. Not sure if it times it right, but I feel refreshed. Placebo effect? Who knows, at least I'm at work on time.
Great, would love to see some developments I really like the app, but there are none or two things it would be cool to see in there as features. If you could set the size of the window of times when it would wake you, that would be great. Having seen it tumble out of a single bed last night, I think having some kind of non-accelerometer option just to record the sleep stats without the heavy/light recording would be cool. One of the things I find most useful is the stats, as I am a poor sleeper without ever really admitting to myself just how poor. Maybe some ideas for a premium version?
This seriously works I've used this 3x over the course of 1-2 years to edge my wake up time to 5am. I stop needing it once my sleep pattern becomes regular, but inevitably I fall out of it due to jet lag, etc. I try for months to get back on schedule without the app and it never works. My failsafe method: I put it near my pillow or on the nightstand a hand grab away, at a high calibration. When I check my phone for the time (which I habitually do about 5x a night), I get up if the alarm goes off and go back to sleep if it doesn't. No more waking up confused and groggy in the middle of deep sleep.
Pretty but limited Need £140 Zeo hardware and a paid RunKeeper Elite account to make use of this 'free' app properly. The very basic functions work well but would like to see a data export facility and trend/stats analysis over time (analysis is currently limited to ONE DAY!!) before committing cash to this thing.
Works for me. I like seeing the graph in the morning to see how well it says I slept. I had to adjust my perspective to get up when it wakes me nicely instead of waiting to the absolute alarm time, but I do wake up with more energy.
It works! Low power usage, nice UI The concept itself actually works which is brilliant, it wakes you at a stage of light sleep so you feel refreshed. I can't manage to charge my phone and have it track my sleep as my cable isn't long enough and I'm pleased to say that in aeroplane mode with this app running, the power usage was tiny! It also has a nice, clean, android 4.0 UI.
Interesting But I don't like that the electric sleep alarm chooses a time period to wake you based on the alarm you set. It woke me up too early and I felt groggy throughout the day.
Great essential features If you want to wake up during your light sleep periods, this app really works. It uses few additional battery resources, and dims the screen more than I ve seen in other apps. The calibration wizard really helps to, well, calibrate to your specific situation.
Used over a year, not worked since September No idea why, but after months of flawless operation and logging, the accelerometer reading goes crazy the whole time. Non stop spikes and bugs in the analysis. For example a 6 hour sleep gives "time to fall asleep" as 23hr 58mins. Real shame because I love this app and no matter how many re installs, does not work. Could possibly be 4.3.2 ?
Great app! Does exactly what it's supposed to. It's easy to use and uncomplicated. I use it every night. I would love to have a "nap" feature that would wake me up after a set number of sleep cycles in addition to the feature that wakes me by a certain time. Also I would like to be able to access an explanation of the sleep score. Thanks!
Great app Works as advertised and the best sleep app I have tried. Only add on I would suggest is recording sound to hear if I snore.
Great This is a good app but what about all the "features" you were going to add its been 10 months and nothing has come yet. Also is the force closing when exiting the app normal? I think that since you are being suppprted by zeo now you should have something out by now. I think that you should have more different features like a line graph or a nap. Otherwise great app well worth the price of FREE.
Never wake up cranky again! This app is truly amazing. Me and mornings do not get on at all, but this allows me to wake up gently from my slumber. One thing to note is to remember to turn aeroplane mode ON, as the app has to keep the phone awake to keep the sensors on and battery gets drained fairly quickly. Such a brilliant app.
Perfect for me Works ideal for me on the desire z, is pretty much the only alarm i don't sleep through because it wakes me at the right moment! And its cool to see how much i actually slept.
Useful & Cool I go to sleep so much easier & I now wake up refreshed with the gentle pre alarm.
Great app! Needs an option to snooze until next detected movement, so the user doesn't have to reset the alarm
Good app I really like this app bit it has been malfunctioning lately. Not sure what happened but its saying it took 5+ hours to fall asleep
Useless for MOTODEFY on Android 2.2! I installed this app after trying Sleep as Android and feeling like trying some alternatives. I read the high review of this app, and decided to give it a go. Indeed, the calibration function of this app is very useful for adjusting your device to best track your sleep. However, it could not track anything if I turn off the screen of my Motorola Defy running on Android 2.2! You may say that there is an option to force the screen on, but risking burning out the screen just to make this app function? No way! By the way, Sleep as Android could track my sleep even if I turn off my screen. Also, this app did not allow me to set progressive volume of the alarm. Therefore, it needs more work to get a "pass" from me...
Really love this app But it currently doesn't work for me and it keeps force quitting every time I open it. Please fix! Otherwise, it's been an amazing free app until recently.
Ok All is ok. Must have.
. Good application. Thx
Very good app. Really helps me to wake up refreshed on time. Much better than usual alarm clock.
Works Toshiba Excite Initially it didn't work. Keep playing with the settings and it will definitely go off. The best thing about this app for me its the ability to monitor my sleep habits. I can see that if I don't feel good waking up that I have been moving around all night. Seeing the alarms and finding the alarms volume takes some getting used to.
Worked for a while, but now... Worked very well for a couple of weeks, but now is convinced that I move every few minutes during sleep and don't have any deep sleep phases at all. As a result, wakes me up immediately when the 'grace period' starts, even from deep sleep. No amount of calibrating helps.
Alarm not reliable I used this apps on my old phone and its fine. But on my new phone, eventhough it showed no pre-alarm and 5 min snooze, it snoozed for 1 hour and the pre-alarm started 30 mins before my schedule time, can't change it at all.
Use it everyday! This app is great. I use it everyday. even when I only get 3 hours of sleep it wakes me up at the right time when im out of rem sleep and not as tired. It will usually wake u 25min earlier than your alarm.
Works great Love that it doesnt leave my screen running while tracking my sleep. Now, if it only came with someone to drag you out of bed. I apparently have a slight problem of falling back asleep after turning alarm off
Love this thing There's a few insufficient issue I would like to see changed but that may be human error. Second day of having this app. This app is showing me that I need to consider a different bed. I get just 2 hrs of good sleep of the 8 hrs that I'm in here. No wonder I'm a bear when first get up.
Life changing, I'm not even kidding you. I have been using this alarm to wake up to for years now. This alarm always without a fail wakes me up when I'm in my lightest sleep, so i don't wake up as groggy. Be sure to take your time to calibrate it correctly.
Cycle and movement tracker... ... are the key words. Lets me know how restless I really am, how long it takes me to fall asleep, and just how well I slept. It allows me to correlate how I feel with how I move.
Love it! Thought it was humbug, but after testing it for 2days, I must say it works. I suffer of insomnia, but with this app, even though I still sleep for very few hours, I feel alot less tired. Thank you devs! :-)
Crashes on Samsung Note It crashes on my Samsung Note when I try to calibrate the motion sensor as the developer recommends. It does appear to work without calibration. It seems like a good program so I am giving it 2 stars until it works reliably. Electric Sleep wants a review of my sleep as soon as I wake up, but won't let me edit the review.
Won't work on my phone It worked once, after that it always freezes. I hit report every time so hopefully it will be fixed but I have to uninstall. Seemed like a nice app if reliable.
Terrible, broken UI! I've been using this every night for the past two months. Tried to review the data and I cannot access all the records. tapping some calendar days does not show any entry at all. Tapping others shows the wrong day. Also, can't edit an entry's note after it's been submitted. Fix please! Also, the graphs list the same hours twice. Mine from last my literally read "3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7". Come on, how hard is it to label a graph properly???
Crashes Used to work well for a few nights, 4 stars worth. Now crashes every night, so not usable anymore (Desire S). So only 3 stars. No history is also missing feature..
This is great. But, many nights it glitches and doesn't record accurate information. Much prefer the stats this app offers, looking forward to updates
Awesome I've used every other smart alarm on Android and nothing compares. Had a minor problem with being unable to change alarm sounds recently that made me decide to give other apps a chance and nothing compares.
Electric Sleep The data it collects is interesting, and how it collects the data is intriguing and raises many questions. Is there a little man in your phone counting how long it takes for you to sleep? I especially like the smart alarm, it wakes you up at your lightest moment of sleep within half hour of your wake up time. The only downside is that it asks your for feedback on how you feel as soon as you turn off the alarm! Sleepy...?
Late for work...again Alarm sporadically decides when to work. Works fine for weeks or months, then won't go off some random morning. 3 times in 3 months...I'm done.
Excellent This piece of software is perfect for collecting sleep patterns and monitoring your sleep cycle. Once you've adjusted the wake up window and the sensitvity it works like a charm!
