Speak with the deaf using live captioning. Don't know sign language? Need to get your message across clearly? Using voice recognition software, speak into your phone and the words are transcribed live on the screen of the device. Talk to anyone face-to-face with Live Captions.

Not for transcribing phone calls.

Push "VR Once" and the Voice Recognition will activate once, and will not auto prompt. The text result will appear on screen.
Push "VR Auto", and the Voice Recognition captures a segment of speech, then it must stop to process what was said.
After returning the text of what was said, the VR prompt will initiate again after 4 seconds.
To stop this cycle, just hit cancel on the Voice Recognition prompt.
To respond with typed text, tap the "Keyboard Entry" button to toggle back and forth between modes.

The most current voice results are delivered at the top and scroll down, similar to a Twitter feed.
Once VR is stopped you can scroll down to previous voice results.
Once VR is restarted, the previous results are deleted and can not be retrieved. No data is recorded or saved.
If you change the language on your phone, it will return results in that language.

Whats new

7.0 Update: Added a control to launch VR Once, so the Voice Recognition will not auto prompt.
On VR Auto button, extended time period for relaunch, gives more time to read the captions provided.
Enhanced the black and white contract for better text legibility.
6.0 Update: Added a keyboard mode for entering text responses. On screen button easily switches between modes.
Results scroll from top down so user can refer back to what was said.

Useless Bought this for my mom who needs people to shout slowly in order to hear them. App requires you shout slowly in order to work and requires an internet connection. Waste of money.

Works Works great. Hardley any time lag and the text is easy to read. Nice to be able to call someone and know what they are saying. I dont know about closed caption on incoming calls. Still testing. 5 stars

Speak fluently to the deaf Exactly what I was looking for: talk to my mother who became deaf. I don't have to write down on paper any more, this is much faster and quite accurate. It even works off line (less accuratly). Unfortunatly, it is to fast for her. I would like to be able to tell when the next voice recognition starts, or to show the previous sentence while then next sentence is being recognized. I now workaround by stopping the recording, having my mother take the time to look at the text and start voice recoginition again (two taps).

Waste of money Transcription accuracy is awful. In the range of 5% correct. Wouldn't even be worth it if it were free.

Simple and effective. It'll get a 5 star if app supports `offline speech capability`. Please and thank you. :)

Awesomeeeeee! WoW Awesome! It is work with speak on closed caption! If hearing people don't do sign language to deaf people, u can use this caption, like TV (CC)!

A Google User

Its OK. It doesn't recognize all voices. Mens voices are more accurate than children and female voices. Foreign? Forget it!

It work great when my daughter speak on it and it work with right words. Great

Don t get it Sucks... not worth to buy

Big Help This app has been a big help in face-to-face conversations with my male relatives and friends. Several females have difficulty getting their words to translate accurately.

Question It seem good. But how low or how far can this pick up voice at? And can it pick up voice in car or others noisy places? How long can this apps record voices and then caption show up? Will you add voices pick up auto without me having to tap voices record? I don't want to tap it again and again to record voices. I would prefer that it can pick up voices when someone's talking.
