Catholic Bible Commentary on the Whole Bible & Catholic Bible (Public Domain Version)

The Haydock's Catholic Bible Commentary, following the Douay-Rheims Bible text, was originally compiled by Catholic priest and biblical scholar Reverend George Leo Haydock.

Haydock’s catholic bible commentary is widely considered a Catholic classic which directly and accurately expresses the Church’s traditional interpretation of biblical passages.

Learning the bible, guide us what life should be & it make us stronger in times of deceit of false prophet or bad spirit.

Arun Saldanha

It helps a lot to learn the word of god

Daniel Zaukum

I love it much. However, I would like to ask to improve the app to easier way to use. For example, we put up chapters and follow verses. Now it is good but in order to go to another chapter or verses,we have to go page per page. Please improve it.

Premson Maring

Smart One A very remarkable one...has a lot more than you need

Not Catholic This is NOT about the Catholic Bible. The Catholic Bible does not Contain an Apochrypha. Those books in a true Bible are in the Old Testament. Luther and others didn't like them, so they removed them. Therefore, they rejected some of God's Word.

Ndaona Muyaya

Catholic commentary bible

Jane Cecilia Wanjiru

Proud to be a Catholic!

Delia Garza

Catholic Bible Commentary This is not a Catholic Bible Commentary it is a clandestine Protestant Evangelical tool.

Mr Jimbo

Jim Missing Ecclesiasticus (Sirach); and whats up with the Apocrypha? This app DOES NOT follow the Douay-Rheims Bible but only in part. The publisher of this app is non-denominational and NOT CATHOLIC. Buyer beware!

August Obregon

What is Apocrypha? Based on my studies, Apocrypha are books that are "not inspired" and this is usually the term used by Non-Catholics for the books that are not included in their Bible but we Catholics include. Catholics on the other hand use the term Deuterocanon to denote that these books are also in the inspired Canon (list) and part of the Deutero (second) + Canon. Hence makes me think that this Catholic Bible is not really made by Catholics. I may be wrong.

Chris Fortin

Absolute Best Catholic Commentary I've been using the Haycock 1859 Catholic Biblical Commentary over a decade on my PC. It enriches my favorite Douay Rheims Bible.

One Juan

Apocrypha? It is a Catholic Bible and it has the Apocrypha?

Barbara Girard

Very useful Gives good explanations of Bible passages.

Robert Shaw

This is not a Catholic Bible study. It is a protestant Anglican Bible study where they see themselves as the 'real Catholics.' This is not a Catholic Bible study. It is a protestant Anglican Bible study where they see themselves as the 'real Catholics.'

Spiffy Spifferson

Something tells me the programmer may not be Catholic, as they take out the Deuterocanonicals and refer to them as "apocrypha", putting them in their own list. Other than that, not much of an issue. It would be nice to see the corresponding Douay Rheims Challoner translation right next to it, though.

Jon R

Great Bible It is the Challoner Edition with more commentaries. The one thing that bugs me with this though, is that the Deuterocanon is erroneously being referred to as the Apocrypha; just as the Protestants do. Outside of that, it is a very useful Bible for Catholics to use.

mathias kimuli

The catholic bible The best

John Mark Pelismino

Missing There are no commentaries for the additions to the books of Esther and Daniel... and you called the Deuterocanical Books as Apocrypha which is not appropriate for Catholics, these books must arrange in Catholic canonical order...

Michael McMillen

Incomplete commentary for Catholics This app misses some chapters of books of the Catholic Bible and is missing books that are in the Catholic Bible example Machabee's. I do not find this a reliable source for Catholic commentary commentary. Buy the DR bible with Haydock notes or the Haydock commentary in hardcover. Author states it is KJV therefore believe this NOT to be Catholic version.

William Hynd

One of the great commentaries This is an excellent app. The Haydock commentary is better than most present day ones. There is a wealth of information that you will not find elsewhere because it can't be proved scientifically, I suppose. Everything runs smoothly and there are some nice extra features

Gerald Cloutier

Subversion of 2000 Years of True Traditional Catholicism Here's another screw in the Catholic Church's coffin. Another part of The Collective Heresy of all the Combined Heresies. Study the Douay-Rheims Ver. of the Bible, an Authorized Eng. Ver. of the St. Jerome's Vulgate, the first Bible. Jesus & His Apostles quoted ONLY from the Greek Septuagint (NOT THE HEBREW) of the Old Testament, since Jesus knew that one was inspired by the Holy Ghost. You warned us that our bookmarks would be lost, you didn't say that you where trying to convert us to Protestantism!

Biniam Tadesse

Ethiopian Catholic It really helped me to understand the true meanings of bible verses. Excellent app.
