C#Shell is an offline C# compiler that lets you dynamically compile and execute C# code on your Android device.

Write programs on the go, test algorithms, explore the features of C# programming language or practice your C# skills.

Note: A high-end device is recommended for optimal performance.

The C#Shell compiler uses Mono Compiler Service.

Most of the .NET Base Class Library is available and you can use such features as LINQ and Task Parallel Library (TPL), function programming is recommended.

---IMPORTANT---
Methods must be declared as parts of classes or structs, meaning a you cannot compile a 'void Main()...' directly, either make it a part of an object, or use anonymous methods or functions.

e.g. Action myCoolMethod = new Action(()=>{ Console.WriteLine("Hello there!"); });

---Features---
• Full-featured C# 4.0 Compiler
• Draw graphics using CanvasUI
• Native Android API
• Load and execute compiled .NET assemblies (*.exe/*.dll) (cs.LoadAssembly)
• Console IO
• Support for saving / opening sessions.
• View object properties
• Visually construct methods
• IO support
• Network support
• Multi-threading support
• ARM , ARMv7 and x86 support.

C#Shell is actively developed, and more features will be added in the near future, we're taking requests too

Great On The Go App Great App, good for when you just need to test stuff. I feel like people are expecting way too much out of an App like this and forget that they are on their Tablet/Phone. C# is a .NET Language and not designed for use on Android. The developer has given us a tool like this to test things, not to use for commercial software. The only thing I'd enjoy is the ability to remove a "section" of code. Great job.

Invasive Adds Has a lot of Namespaces, and I like how Android and Java are exposed. I wanted to try this out before purchasing the full app, but the add boxes are just above the line you're typing on. Cuts down on the whole experience. You might try moving the adds up the screen a bit.

Faisal Nasee

It is very useful application

Rahil Vig

Fantastic I can literally program anywhere... this is great!

Daniel Bentley

Unusable The editor is horribly designed, requiring you to click into boxes that pop open the keyboard text editor instead of editing inline. There's also no obvious way to compile or run the code. And from reading replies on other comments here the developer can't take criticism even when it's constructive; he'd rather just say everyone that can't figure out this mess is wrong.

Great App Great application! Can't wait till the next version of android to truly use this app again. At the moment it is not compatible with Androids new ART runtime. So make sure to use Dalvik or simply wait for ART to go Hybrid in the next version of Android. :)

Jason Bourne

Completely unusable Banner ads make the app unusable. I can't scroll at all. At the very least put them at the bottom rather than between the text and the command line.

Achwaq Khalid

Popular Demand What about interactive lessons for beginners in the app with step by step instructions, this will surely get you more fans.

Joshua Stricker

Still learning and that is what I love about. C# programming shell what does it do? Find out!

Syed Hussain

Free version useless. Don't bother. I spent a day trying to work it out, only ended up making the purchase to see if it made a difference - it didn't. Very useless for an intermediate programmer like myself.

Saud Khan

Bad App You can't do anything until you dont have purchase version app.

Hosein Akbari

It's a best program I can use C# in my mobile

Project Hydrux

Remarkable App I actually been using this quite often, have to admit it is really a truly remarkable App, only thing I need is a Bluetooth Keyboard then sorted

Giovanni innavoiG

5 stars - 4 I was going to give 5 stars, but then I saw how you handled a review. Just because someone cannot figure out how the GUI works doesn't mean they are not an intermediate programmer. I like the app and all, but the way you handled that was terrible.

Paul Schofield

Make sure you're running Dalvik, not ART Otherwise, it crashes on startup.

Reinier Maas

C# in the pocket Console.input(); Console.output("Hello World!"); It's fun! Super fast support, all questions answered within a 20 minutes window!

Dalton Roush

Fantastic This app is actually exactly what I was looking for

Cheeks Akhtar

No ART? Too slow behind. All my apps are running on art except this.

Josh Cowley

Limited The free version is absolutely pointless, you're too restricted and the paid version (<£1) doesn't improve that much on useful functionality

Christopher Smallwood

c# !!!!!mmmmnnnnn thank unix

wani shahid

Shell is the best tool a programmer can get

Ferrakkem Bhuiyan

Awesome This is good one

Tristan McPherson

Great! AMAZING C# Compiler. Does everything I need and more. I highly recommend this great app! Doesn't currently work with Android 4.4 KitKat ART runtime.

Wayne Evans

Free version review Free version is awkward and with an ad banner right in the way. Cant open an existing file as it wants money first. Using a different one that does several languages including c#

Tanaji Khapre Patil

Advertising only..nothing free... while doing any task this free app is showing pop-up to buy there main app. Useless app.

Thomas Streit

love the c# like a java after a beauty-operation. looking forward to play with it

Sanjana Tatawati

Gud one but requires net it would be better if works offline

Егор Агафонов

Nice Very useful and much better than others

Гавриил Харин

Great for learning C sharp

Иннокентий Мажара

This is what I looked for!

Vinod Sharma

How to run? How to run the code? I'm not able to find it or it is not available for free version?

Joona Heikkila

Perfect Perfect for quick fiddles on the road.

Ace Of John

Wanted to just program c# But I couldn't even get a blank document. Just not what I expected. I will still play with it on the bus see if I can figure it out. But editing is getting on my nerves.

Matthew Muro

Not working Get "unexpected symbol var" but don't know why..YouTube video shows this exact code but mine doesn't work...why?: public class TestClass{ public void sayHello(string name){ Console.WriteLine("Hello, " + name); } } var tc = new TestClass(); tc.sayHello("C#");

reyes salinas

Good for what it is If you understand the uses of this app and don't think that it is going to be just as good as visual studios, then this app will provide a great experience. It's nice to be able to try out a bit of code or go over code on the fly. Don't like the adds but hey I will just pay for it and not worry about it.

Rob H

This Is A Demo 'Free version' is a little generous. Essential features like saving and loading hidden behinds payment

Ido Englender

OK for a phone But it isn't even close for visual studio

No0byz Everything

It's good but the ad is in the way.

Joona Heikkila

Perfect Perfect for quick fiddles on the road. Could really use an update to allow the usage of C# 6 features, though.

Pankaj Salunkhe

Great Nice app...i was looking for this app:):):)

Paul Millr

It's ok The gui could be better.. very awkward to do any quick test apps... but is ok.

Stasis

Horrible demo and interface I cant tell what im doing and cant make out what the icons represent. I finally figured out how to edit the document after 15 minutes and a messaged popped up saying I needed to pay to complete this action. Why would I buy this if I cant even try it out?

aakanksha singh

Where is the run option.. How do i execute it

Bryan Hyland

Good for what it is I like this app to try out snippets of code when I randomly think of them. However, I wish it were a full on ide where I could write, compile, and save my code. Just like a c++ ide that I have on my phone.

Santhosh D

Please update guys Nice app for beginners like me in C#
