The lure of being your own boss and being able to boss around is a huge appetizer to most of the employees. However the fear of being able to sustain the business due to the typical employee mentality keeps most of us to continue our employment. To be a successful entrepreneur you will need to be attuned to the entrepreneurial mentality that is drastically different from the employee mentality. The following text seeks to enumerate these key differences and tries to provide you with an insight into the manner in which you may actually realize the dream of being your own boss. On the other hand an entrepreneur is fully conscious of and responsible for the results of his/her endeavor. The employee will restrict themselves to doing the work allotted to them. The entrepreneurs poses ‘get-it-done’ attitude and are ready to do things that are ‘higher up’ or “well below’ their skill level. Entrepreneurs focus on developing their business to bring in the money to support the lifestyle and business they want and are ready for fleeting sacrifices required to achieve a goal. Entrepreneurs take control of their own life and do not require any prompting to achieve their goals. Entrepreneurs see each day as a different chance to achieve their dreams while employees are affected by Monday or Friday mentality. Employees look forward to their raises based on the calendar instead of performance, whereas entrepreneurs go by the timeless idiom ‘more the work – higher the reward’. Meetings are nightmares for the employees. However, entrepreneurs are on the lookout for excellent ideas from these meetings.
