Download Bluetooth 4.0 Scanner apk 1.15 free for Android smartphone
Apk file size: 2.8 MB
Bluetooth 4.0 (Low Energy and Classic Mode) Scanner. BlueScan scans for Bluetooth devices, looks up the vendor and allows you to email the results. The information is recorded includes: device name, location, RSSI signal strength, MAC address, MAC address vendor lookup.
This supports the earthping.com project - crowdsourced Bluetooth database. Users are also reporting usage to find their lost Bluetooth devices.
Scan data can be downloaded via email in JSON and CSV format. Also, this version uploads the found devices to a web database, which can be turned off in menu --> settings. Bluetooth 4.0 devices will be able to scan in Classic or Low Energy mode. Devices without Bluetooth 4.0 can scan in Classic mode only.
This is part of a research project into the extent that Bluetooth devices are used in the buildout of the Internet-of-things. Currently this supports Bluetooth Classic and 4.0 (Bluetooth Low Energy - BLE).
This app is oriented toward those curious about the extent of the Bluetooth devices in and around their neighborhood - drive through your neighborhood while scanning for Bluetooth devices and you'll see sensors, firetucks, freeway monitors, car brands, laptops, phones, TV set-top boxes, etc.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. That includes bugs, feature requests, sending of some scan data sets would be appreciated ([email protected]) and/or any comments about interesting Bluetooth devices you are seeing.
Many Thanks, John
Added logging in JSON and CSV. Added Advertising ID. Fixed bug where app crashes on large scans.
John Abraham part of our Tools and have average installs from 100000 to 500000. Last Update June 14, 2016. Google play rating is 68.3029. Current verison is 1.15. Actual size 2.8 MB.
Very helpful, decent ui Utilitarian UI but enough for what I needed, which was to find my list fitbit. The only suggestion I'd have is to have a legend or something for interpreting the signal strength since the negative values is a bit counterintuitive for a layman
TURN OFF SHARE DATA FIRST It will publish all your locations and devices by default! °n° The entire app doesn't work without this- it is terrible.
Excellent Helped me find my Amazon Fire tv remote using 'low power' setting.
Hi! Can you make a bluetooth fixer? My bluetooth does not work it always turning off when i click turn on it always turn off again and again. If you can make it please make, Sorry for my bad eng.
Doesn't work Galaxy 3 Didn't work, couldn't see a functioning phone or BT headset and see no need for the GPS feature that dumps your location (and info) to a shared database. Updated ....Plus two stars for the rapid response. Is there a way to "sniff" for BT's in the area? For normal wireless you can drop the card in passive mode and listen. Such a feature would be good for finding lost BT devices or finding BT devices planted in a corporate office for spying.
Found my Fitbit! Found my Fitbit in a laundry pile. Unbelievable! Tracked it down with crazy accuracy. 5 stars!
Fixed No more crashes on le scanning. Works like it should now. Thanks to Dev for quick response!
Can't scan without enabling gps For some reason the program is telling me that I need to enable my GPS in order for the scanner to work even though I disabled data sharing with the crowd sourced database. That's a strange "feature".
BLUETOOTH 4.0 SCANNER To date I have NOT had 1 single probablem. SO FAR SO GOOD!!!! +
Love the low energy mode It makes it so fast to quickly see the list. Especially when trying to find a stolen device. There is no time to keep waiting for it to appear.
Good at seeing your devices not finding them.
Helped me find my misplaced Fitbit worked better than the commonly-recommended app for finding lost Fitbits
Helped find Fitbit on a OnePlus One App came in handy. Only complaint is I'd like basic instructions. But thanks for the help!
Doesn't pick up any of the Bluetooth devices. I'm using
Good but basic Basic ui but does the job. The delete data button should be moved as it currently sits in exactly the same spot as the database button, so an accidental double tap on "database" causes your database to be deleted!
Good help to fond lost bluetooth devices
Better than the rest! Lost a Fitbit One and every other scanner said it was upstairs in our office. After downloading your app I actually found it in one of our cars! Crazy thing is that the other apps showed it wasn't there! Thank you so much!
Needs GPS Why the hell you need to turn on GPS to scan for bluetooth devices?
FitBit Finder :-) My wife purchased a FitBit One for me for Valentines day and on our second walk together I lost it somewhere along the way. Man I was so upset. I re-traced my course with a flashlight but no luck. Did some googling and found this app. Loaded it onto my Tegra Note 7 Tablet and started walking. Sure enough. . . It detected it! It only took a few moments once I knew the area to look to find it. This app is a lifesaver. THANK YOU!
Found my FitBit - Great App After a day of errands and chores, including cleaning out my garage, I realized I no longer had my FitBit on me. I saw this it was connected to the FitBit app, but without a signal strength indicator, I couldn't track it down. In comes Bluetooth 4.0 Scanner. After scanning and finding the One device I was able to track down the location as the RSSI went from -80dB to -30dB. And there it was, tucked away in a pouch on my tool caddy. Easy to use (Nexus 5), only thing I wish it did was to opt-in to the data collection instead of having that enabled by default.
Good application I had collecting bluetooth data, this app could collecting many details. BUT IF I COULD OUTPUT DETAIL OF DATA,IT WILL PERFECT (NOW THE OUTPUT DATA SHOW ONLY LASTEST DATA), if possible please fix it.
Ok-ish. Gets unreliable. First few run were flawless, then it started dying while scanning.
Robert O Worked great help me find lost fitbit one tracker
Did not work The program is utter crap, the scan did nothing but get stuck scanning with no results. Completely useless.
Defaults to submitting data. That should be an opt-in feature, not opt-out.
Why do you NEED gps enabled? Just scan
located lost fitbit! Narrowed down the search in a snow bank - brilliant, thanks.
Why need gps Please make it work 1st
Used to find my lost Fitbit Flex Found my lost Fitbit Flex in my son's school bag minutes after installing this app. Works as advertised!
not pretty and intuitive, but it seems to work now
What GPS Why ask for gps connection when its not different with other apps, Which only require Bluetooth. Its faster then other apps, no doubt :)
It helped me find my Fitbit One I had lost my Fitbit One and I was able to use this app to help me find it. It was complicated to get it to work. This app would only detect my Fitbit the moment I pressed Sync on my Fitbit app. It would not detect it while it was still syncing. So, I would turn on my Bluetooth, start scanning on the Bluetooth 4.0 Scanner, start syncing on my Fitbit App, look at the signal strength in the Bluetooth 4.0 Scanner, turn off the Bluetooth and repeat. It was a little bit of a pain, but it did work.
P'ugly Screen forced to portrait on keyboard attached tablet is ugly and awkward. The **default** of sending my scanned data to public servers should give this a -3 stars
Bluetooth v4.0 Not sure if it works, i was trying your app with my latest bluetooth v4.0 mini usb doogle, i cannot use your app to detect the signal using the low energy scan. May i know what is the problem? i will give you 5 star if you reply my question Asap. thx :)
Found my MisFit Shine right away No comment about the location services. I guess a plot of signal strength vs. Lat/Long could be useful. I just wandered around my living room watching the signal strength and homed in on my MisFit stuck to a tape gun inside a plastic storage tub.
Automatically Opts-In To Scary Device Geolocation Registration, Also Does Not Work Nope nope nope nope nope. Blacklist the publisher and anyone associated.
Requires location access to scan Why the location information? Most Bluetooth devices aren't fixed location so why do we need
Found my Fitbit Charge But you have to get very close, within 4ft. App could do with an interface that gives you more confidence that it is searching, as sometimes it just sits there looking like it is inactive.
Why? This app doesn't really do anything. Yes. There are Bluetooth items near me. Which one is my kid's phone? Which one is the Qualcomm tracker?
I don't understand I've been trying to find a blackberry lost in the snow and I don't know what the numbers mean
Very helpful and user friendly ui... Last night I misplaced my fitness band.... I was unable to locate it... But with the help of this software I got my band... It is crushed by a car due to which it got some cracks and hardly dented... But then also its working fine like the way it used to work... I would like to thanks xda-developers and the bluscan team.... Without this I will never get able to locate my band...
Sneaky invasion of privacy Useful app, but insists on keeping GPS active causing a large amount of unnecessary battery drain, as well as an invasion of privacy. This should be either disabled by default, or the user should be asked when the app is first launched. I agree with others that have stated this app should be banned because of this. It would also be nice to have a clean interface to view the RSSI for a selected device over time, too. I would happily rate 5 starts if these issues were to be resolved.
Ok tool for bluetooth 4, but.. The " classical scan " blocks All wifi signals in the phones range. Bad if you forget to switch to the low level scan. But the low level scan used for bluetooth 4 works great
Well, when something has worked it has worked I searched for Mi fit that my son lost and after long time searching, I found it using this app. It worked
Worked great to find a lost fitbit. Keep in mind the lower the number the stronger the signal.
Thank you Had bought some Bluetooth headphones but my phone couldn't find them until I found this app thank you worked great
This device did not find my Fitbit One. It gave false signals.
Useful apps Help me find my Up3 in my work area
doesn't work nothing. .
Bluetooth stereo head set Now I very enjoyed with music listening. Without your app I can't listen music. Thanks for your very best app. You have to improve this. Hop you have a nice feature. I am from Sri Lanka.
Very good version and users friendly. V.Narasimhachary. Bharath that is INDIA.
Was able to find my misfit shine after lots and lots on manual searching. I did have to be within about 10 feet before it showed up, but I think that is more the device I was looking for than the app.
Great app I lost my Misfit shine and thought it was gone forever. I found this app when I search online and figured to give it a try. I found my Shine! I recommend this to anyone who loses a Bluetooth device.
Amazing !!! It helped me find my Mi Band ! The activity tracker had dropped out of the band while playing football. I got the shock of my life when I realized a few hours later... Helped a lot... Especially in the dark... Love the interface... Absolutely amazing !
Lock and Loaded Going to find a little girl tablet....... I'm on the bus from NY to NC
Forces you to turn on your GPS to track. Useless.
bluetooth scanner is a very usefull
It works I lost my fitbit and I found it using this app. This app can locate my fitbit. I have a tips for you if you would like to find your Bluetooth device via this app: The signal strength is less negative if the device is closer to you. Hope this helps
...doesn't seem to do anything on a Note5 but did find "something" when run on a Samsung Tab. ....difficult to determine what it found though. There does not appear to be a function that would allow one to re-scan after turning various BT devices on/off in order to try and determine what is what. You must stop and restart the app which clears the display which sort of defeats the purpose. Any thoughts on the Note 5?
Wouldn't scan on LG G3 Title says it all: App loaded and ran, but would never finish a scan. Uninstalled.
The Idea is good but dangerous. When I first read the title I thought it was a scanning devices to connect. But it's more than that. I made my way to the settings and was a little trouble of what this app also does. It not just finds your device but also logs and uploads the location of your product to a server automatically. In the name of locating devices lost and so call help vendors distribute there products. It makes me wonder if the person behind the software is helping some agency locate you without your permission. Kinda creepy.
Found our fitbark! Very happy with the app. Not many instructions, but easy to work out that lower numbers = closer. Definitely a good app for the toolkit when you have a device that a dog might drop!
Found my device Found my fitbit! Nice real time data. Though I made sure to turned off the updating to their servers for my device.
Best ever Found my up Where other app could not find it
Finds JawBone UP2 - tried 8 different apps, and this is the only one that located my UP2. Only one other app even detected the UP2 name, but BlueScan can locate using the signal power (-dBW). The refresh is a little slow, and it would be better if you could select the device you're looking for from a list and then home in on just that one, but the fact is that the -dBW signal accurately allowed me to get within a few feet of my lost JawBone. Good work chaps!
Works No other app I tried today could find my BT devices except this app. Thanks.
Hate it! It ruined my phone's Bluetooth! It just turns on and off indefinitely
It will be better if the database can be append with previous capture record (like previous version) so that we will know that there are revisit device..
Why Why do I need to turn on gps to scan for a bluetooth device
OPENED THE APP......but THEN, ding, dang, darn... The ding, dong, darn app crashes, AND I tried many times to fix it, I even reinstalled it, but........NO WORKie- WORK FOR ME. I have henceforth, hitherto, forevermore, undeniably, unequivocally, irreversibly, reprehensible uninstalled the ding, dong, darn app, and wrote this dirty-bird review to tell you all about my ding, dang, darn, ditty-boo, dramatic experience. Good luck.
Doesn't do anything Nothing works! DON'T DOWNLOAD!
Found my Gear Fit 150 feet away This app really saved peace of mind I was able to find my gear fit a very long distance away at my job using this app, I will admit it was a bit difficult at first but I was able to figure it out, sometimes I would get realtime results other times a ping. Connect than disconnect. Started at -100 than found my device at -50 bluetooth 4.0
Doesn't scan Doesn't scan on my HTC 10 just sits there doing nothing
Very Useful, but tracks location unexpectedly Will drain your battery in the background. It is unclear why the app even needs location services, so if you're on Android 5.0+, then you're better off denying the permission.
Problem permission with samsung galaxy s7 edge on screen overlay. No show list devices
Did the job Scanned for devices and I was able to get the Mac I'd for the device I was looking for
It worked!!! Helped me find my Fitbit when my cat stole it
Helped me find my Misfit Shine Gave me the general area to find my Misfit. I would have never found it without this app. The Misfit was attached to the bottom of my washer. Make sure to use "Low Energy Scan".
