Download Blue Board apk 0.2.0 free for Android smartphone
Apk file size: 1.1 MB
This is the client app for Blue Board for Ouya. This will allow you to use your tablet or smart phone as a wireless keyboard for your Ouya.
You can also use your phone as an Ouya controller to navigate around. Note that you will not be able to play most games with this. Its designed only to navigate around the console menus. As much as we would like to emulate the touchpad of the controller, it can't be done until the makers of Ouya work with us. At time moment they seam very busy.
Please note this is still a early beta. We hope to get many different kinds of keyboard layouts and to optimize those layouts for different screen sizes. Such as a split keyboard for tablets since your thumbs probably cant reach the middle while holding it with both hands. We welcome any feedback at [email protected]
Thanks for trying and let us know how it works for you.
* Can't connect? Try turning bluetooth off and on again.
Hardware Keyboard support:
The latest version will support physical keyboards. Basic letters should work on all device, but symbols may not. This is because each device setups the physical keyboard differently. We are working to get all devices fully supported. If yours is not, you can contact us and we will gladly work with you to get full support on your device.
- Fully supported devices:
** We are listening to your feedback. Here is what we are working on now

~ Added support for third-party keyboards
~ Improved the Ouya game pad

Wow... So I forgot my controller at home, and thought this would be a good get around. I had a USB mouse to get it setup and well...lets just say that it didn't play nice with the mouse input. So only 1 start from me since it was a waste of my time.
Needs touch input. This app would be awesome if it had a touchpad for use with Netflix and Xfinity TV apps.
Could use a track pad and thumb sticks as well as a home button Other then that it works great.
Needs start button Good concept, but really needs a start button and maybe a track pad
can you adapt this for use with Mad Catz mojo? it'd be so awesome to use my phone instead of a controller to navigate..
Needs track pads as thumb sticks, and a home button
Can't connect Can't connect my Nexus 4. Really want it to work.
I hope they hurry. Controller emulation is probably one of the first things stopping us from playing games, and tegra is the next. But most gamers know to get tegra. I hope it gets done soon so we can have console esque games that are natively supported by our devices.
Useful in a pinch This is a good idea, but lacking. A lot of reviewers seem to want to use their existing keyboard-- interfaced with this app somehow? ... But what I'd like is a home button, a back button, a menu button. Basic stuff really, when you think about it. And whether you use the app in landscape or portrait mode, there's plenty of wasted space above the keys. Even the controller part is missing the home button. And this app is missing. the mark.
Handy, needs better KB and copy/paste though Way better than the onscreen KB. Would love to be able to copy and past from the android device when inputting on touch screen KB. Would help for entering looong wifi keys etc. Works good for very basic inputs but needs to work with installed 3rd party KB's on device and copy/paste to be great.
Can connect, can type via the less nice in app kb, no further tho Can connect, can type via the less nice in app kb, no further than that though on the OUYA side, cant select the done after step 5, they need to more fully enable the touch screen interaction, let us use our already installed keyboards and Swype
Needs native keyboard support The controller part works fine, however the app requires you use their keyboard controls instead of the android keyboard. This means that even if you have an advanced keyboard (like Swype) can't use it.
Great idea but Unfortunately it's not working with my galaxy nexus, connects to Ouya but my Ouya will not open the selection for blue board keyboard, I will try again and again until this works it's a great idea and will save a lot of time!
Works just as expected Wish it supported different keyboard layouts. Or the keyboard that Android uses. Very useful for logging into games and such
Works well on nexus 7 Works great but would love if it could do touch pad functions or use custom keyboards like default Google or swype.
No thumb sticks? If the controller mode had thmb sticks this would be perfect. I dont know why you haven't added them
Not nexus 7 ready. I already linked my nexus 7 with the Ouya. Saw this app would give it some nice options, but it will not connect in the app.
Its half way there This is miles better than trying to type with the on-screen keyboard. The actual keyboard part of this app, however, its miles worse than all the other Android keyboards we use for things like web browsing and text messaging. The portion of Blue Board that runs on Ouya and the port of this app that communicates with the Ouya work very well for me. If they can find a way to enable using our existing Android keyboards with what they already have done, it will be great.
Well, it did not worked Tried plenty of times to make it work, but i can't get pass pairing OUYA with my galaxy s3. All I'm getting is Internet service which will not connect. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Good start Loving it so far. Connecting nexus 7 was easy and very useful to have a keyboard.
Does not work... yet :) Good idea. But code not working yet. Error message: "Unable to connect: service discovery failed"
Homerun!! Love this app can't wait to see whey else you have planned for it in the near future!
Home/Power button missing Also an touchpad will be nice.
Good Good but special characters don't seem to work. It seems like it disengages the shift key when entering the symbols keyboard mode. For instance, the @ symbol is impossible to create.
Good future great app! Very useful app, hopefully it keeps getting better. Would be great to see a touch pad added to the controller screen and above the keyboard in portrait.
Improves ouya a lot. This should actually be added the ouya by default! Almost everyone has a smartphone in its pocket so having an extra controller is very handy. Keep on improving this and try talking with ouya inc to get them to incorporate this to the ouya ^_^
Like it I like it. The only thing I couldn't get to work is there seems to be no U button in controller mode.
Keyboard issues It should try and use the android keyboard. I have a lot of issues with this keyboard, especially with special characters on the ouya.
Doesn't sync Seems like ps3 controllers only work. not even my ouya controller syncs
Not working on the Samsung Galaxy S3 T999. I'm receiving the following error when trying to connect to my already Paired Ouya- "Unable to connect : Service discovery failed"
For you gamers This is a great app
Unable to start service discovery
Good, but why own layout? The button mappings and possibility of using the smartphone as navigation controller and keyboard is much needed and appreciated. But why put effort in building yet another layout? There is plenty of good keyboards in the play store (stock keyboard included), which already include lots off keyboard specific features. Why not just take profit of this fact? Way easier than implementing a new layout (which will never be quite satisfying for any user, since they already use another keyboard).
Great application I just love the fact that this sort of thing can even be done. :) Another big plus for Ouya. I did notice some oddities. 1) At one point, after my phone sitting idle for a while, I simply could not connect to the Ouya, even though I was paired. I had to reboot my phone (then it started working) 2) I tried the app on a few games and it worked great. It did not work, however, on the game "Puddle". Might be worth checking out.
Convenient keyboard When you have type on the OUYA it's a tiresome and laborious experience. Thankfully, this keyboard eliminates most of the hassle and makes typing a pretty simple process. But, I do wish the letters/nav buttons had more space between them, as I occasionally hitting the wrong key.
Not Working Droid X Even though my OUYA and Droid X were paired and connected, the Blue Board was always "Status: Not connected." I tried everything possible and really cannot afford to troubleshoot through e-mail. I am sure this will be corrected once OUYA goes mainstream, but until then it is not worth having on my phone.
It's a start It took little effort to set up the connection, and the on-screen keyboard does end up typing on my Ouya, however, the keyboard itself is REALLY tiny and almost impossible to type with. I know many android phones don't have one, but please make this app compatible with the built-in physical keyboard...That would make my day and I would change this rating to 5 stars in an instant
HTC one x won't connect Phone pairs with OUYA fine but this app refuses to connect . SERVICE DELIVERY FAILED is all this app says. Useless. Also tried to connect with a Samsung tab pro and again devices connect but app refuses. Double useless.
Can't use it on LG G3 Same as previous reviews; pairs, but can't connect. Really had my hopes up.
Notre working I have my bluetooth on but its not conneting
