Check out the latest film and DVD classification decisions from the BBFC. Whether you are at home, at the cinema or out and about, get detailed information about why the film or DVD you are thinking of seeing or buying got the classification it did.
All film classification decisions come with BBFCinsight that explains the issues and plot points in any film, enabling you to make informed decisions about what you or your family watch.
Recent film and DVD decisions are downloaded to the app from the BBFC database, subject to an internet connection. When offline however, the information downloaded stays on your device, making it fully accessible even if you are unable to get a signal at your local cinema.

No to 12A Great app if you want to see when a film is certified and what content is used to justify the rating.
Worked well This app worked well till fairly recently where it literally doesn't try to do anything, then crashes
What I expected Useful app for being sure about film classifications, because the tv guides dont note it in their descriptions.
Could be better App works well but it is about time for an update and a material design refresh
BBFC App This is a great way to get the information you need on what a film is classified as and what it contains.
Cool for dads Excellent especially if you have children
crashes always crashes. have to clear data to get it to work.
Good app Great app for the film nerds that are especially interested in classification. A mine of information.
I use this tool regularly to decide on suitable viewing for my two young kids. The Insight sections are very informative.
Crashes upon load Keeps crashing everytime the app opens
Rendered practically useless since Lollipop update
Useless Crashes every time I open it
Invaluable for any British cinema goer Clean and easy to use. Great if you want to find out if a film is suitable for taking a child to, for example, but also good if you personally have sensitivities to some subject areas.
Too many films missing This looked really useful, then I saw what was not shown. It would be suefulto hav a 'all' tab to include both film and DVD instead of having to use search or check film and DVD individually.
Ideal If you wanna be safe rather than sorry, in your entertainment choices, this is the app.
Does what it says on the tin. Works flawlessly - does its job.
Useful! Very good app, and the devs have fixed the display issue on HD screens
.... Need a section for gaming not just Movies & DVD's. Also the descriptions and age ratings completely contradict eachother
Quick support Installed yesterday on galaxy s2, didn't work, emailed support with the issue and they have responded today. Now works. Quality app.
Dvd section broke Good app but since last update the DVD section won't load on my Galaxy S1, no matter how many times I refresh
Getting worse A once great app has been ruined by poorly written content. Talk about dumbing down.
Almost perfect Just needs to provide access to all decisions, not just recent, to get 5th star.
Won't work on 2 separate devices POS - installed OK on Samsung Galaxy SII and Galaxy Tab 10.1, but both failed on repeated attempts to update/install film database, so the app is unusable. Shame.
Excellent app Easier to navigate than the website, very useful for helping me decide on films for my 11 year old daughter..
Useful and fun Ideal for parents wanting to know exactly what has given a film a rating, so they can decide if it's suitable for their children. Also for film geeks, it's interesting to see what cuts have been made.
No use to me Won't work on my Galaxy S2 :-
Very handy Very useful app for me, as I need to check certificates at work.
Not good Not running on my Desire again. Says can't connect to internet.
Yep agreed, does exactly what it's meant to do... informative and the information is structured very well.
Useful Extremely useful. Kermode uses it. No better recommendation.
Nice and clear Does what it says on the tin, nice and clear listings. Good stuff
Simples Very concise and easy to navigate . Seems to cover information about most films I searched for
Shame Looks really useful but no use to me if I can't run it from the SD card - I'll reinstall if/when I can...
Brilliant resource for parents ... And when you want to know which swear words are in a film :)
Useful and informative. Well presented app too.
A 'must have' for parents taking their children to the cinema! It gives the rating and details of actors and directors which is great for a film geek like me. Best of all though the Insight button gives details of any swear words used and violence shown so you can judge if it is suitable for your child. Especially good when trying to decide about a 12a film - they vary a lot!
Keeps crashing. Reported several times but has not seen any improvement.
Uninstalled, won't ever load after the first time used.
It is what it is. It's a lot more basic then the actual website. Sorry to say, I won't be using again.
An update malfunction Used to be great but now it keeps crashing. Only a reinstall will make it work again. But then in subsequent uses crashes again.
App seems to crash very constantly
