The AWS Console mobile app, provided by Amazon Web Services, lets you view resources for select services. The app also supports a limited set of management functions for select resource types, so you can use the app to support incident response while you're on the go.
EC2, S3, Route 53, ELB, RDS, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, Auto Scaling, and AWS OpsWorks customers can use the app to browse resources and view configuration details, metrics, and alarms. Management functionality is supported for EC2, RDS, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, DynamoDB, Auto Scaling, and AWS OpsWorks. Service Health Dashboard notifications provide real-time information on service availability, and users with billing and CloudWatch permissions can monitor total estimated service charges.
The AWS Console mobile app requires an existing AWS account. Simply create an identity using your account credentials and select your region in the menu. The app lets you stay signed in to multiple identities at once. Note that if you sign in with an AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) user account, you need to use the account alias that was included in the email address from your administrator. If you use AWS Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), we recommend using either a hardware MFA device or a virtual MFA on a separate mobile device for the greatest level of account protection.
We regularly release updates with new features. Tell us what features you need and how you would use them with the Feedback link in the app's menu. We're listening!
This update adds support for the new Asia Pacific (Mumbai) infrastructure region.
It also includes a few fixes including EC2 Security Group rules and RDS option groups.
How are we doing? Tell us how we can make the app better and request new features by using Feedback in the app's menu. We're listening!
AWS Mobile LLC part of our Business and have average installs from 100000 to 500000. Last Update June 27, 2016. Google play rating is 84.9577. Current verison is 1.16. Actual size 1.5 MB.
Doesn't support temporary credentials No support for session tokens. Hence, not usable in our (many) SSO / ADFS / SAML accounts where we don't use root or IAM users. Otherwise the functionality of the actual app is good, and always improving. Please support your own credential methods Amazon!
App looks good. But there are some issues Select menu for application version selection for eb is broken. Showing 'version' but it is actually 'select a version'
No support for roles If you set up your aws account(s) with IAM users and roles as per Amazon's recommend best practices, you can't use this app because there's no way to assume a role.
Great app Back to normal ... Now ... If there was a cleaner UI :)
What I need This app is perfect if you're on the move, it makes it really easy to monitor your cloud instances.
No way to switch IAM roles Unless I'm missing something. Not much use to me without this feature
Great app Intuitive app in mobile and fast to use.
I want more control It's a great way to VIEW running instances but no way to start new ones.
Good for watching alarms Would be really great if it had switch role function
Doesn't work on Lollipop Even after multiple reinstalls the program doesn't start. It crashes on the splash screen. I'm using GT-I9500 S4 w/ Lollipop 5.0.1.
Seems pretty solid One thing I did notice is that the cloudwatch metrics for DynamoDB consumed units are pretty useless. The min value is 1 and the max is 2 so your avg consumed is 1.x. while the shape of the graph appears to match reality, there is no way to correlate it with your provisioned units. It needs to show the real avg consumed capacity like the Web UI does or better yet overlay both on the same graph like the Web UI.
Great app! AWS is getting better and better! I love this app, its really useful, Is it too much to ask for material design, Report for s3 buckets with graphs and recommendations. With those extra feature it's defo 5/5 ?
App just stopped working The app worked great then it just stopped launching for some reason. I get the splash screen and then it closes.
SQS Support Please! Would kind to be able to check queue sizes!
Does exactly what it says on the tin
Needs to be able to nickname accounts. Having multiple accounts to manage (currently at 5 distinct accounts), having to know the account numbers of the environment I'm after is a bit silly. I've had to cycle through the accounts numerous times until I find the right one. Just the ability to put in a nickname when associating the accounts would make a huge difference in usability.
Would be great if it had PIN access Great app, but inputting my crazy long password is a total PITA. Wish there was a way to save my password, then lock the app with a PIN code. OK, so that may not be as secure, but anyone using this app is probably well-versed regarding security and locks their phone as well as has the ability to wipe it remotely anyway. I'm all for a PIN code! You could even have it so it wipes the app info after XX number of bad PINs or something.
Edit Auto Scaling The same way to start/stopt/terminate a machine in EC2, it would offer a way to edit Auto Scaling defined.
Very useful Provide visibility for most amazon services. I'd add the an option to change scaling groups.
Nice app Works great. Using it to start/stop ec2 instances from random places. Makes server available anytime it is needed for me or someone sitting next to his computer drinking coffee and spamming f5 to see if server is online or not.
Missing CloudFront No access to CloudFront. Can't open logs in S3 buckets.
The credentials / access management section is really missing.
Works with even mfa Multi login option is a boon.
No images Can't make an image -- this is fairly useless
works as advertised but lacks features Lacks support for features that I need. Doesn't support SES, SQS, and other important AWS services. This supports EC2 though, so this is useful for restarting servers during emergencies.
Amazon rules. Have tried other could services as Azure or BlackKnight. This one far the best and most stable.
Bad design, less functionality I need SQS and Cloudsearch for my current work, but its not able in mobile app
Cool All I need while I'm out of keyboard.
Add elastic ip controls for 5 stars
Good for monitoring, bad for making changes This app is good for looking at existing configuration, monitoring instances etc, you can terminate an instance, but you cannot launch a new one. Cannot edit configurations, cannot edit opsworks stack details. Would expect the app to do everything as the web version, because if I have to go to the website anyway what's the point of keeping the app on my phone.
nice app nw our cloud is in my pocket... & we cn access aws frm anywair..
Doesn't include EU-Frankfurt I'll change my rating as soon as I EU-Frankfurt is added
Awedome amazon console Cool app very portable to access aws consoke
Nice No more carrying around laptops or tablets to administer my cloud. Easy as.
Superb Good one
Its not bad, but lacks most of the services Its great to be able to check my EC2 instances for example, but its sad that Amazon doesn't provide access to all of their servers via their mobile aws console.
A bit pointless app
Only monitoring You can only monitor and reboot instances. Would be nice to be able to change things and start instances.
Very handy tool to manage aws.
No support for roles If you set up your aws account(s) with IAM users and roles as per Amazon's recommended best practices, you can't use this app because there's no way to assume a role.
Almost perfect Very inconvenient when need to login with Google Authenticator using MFA from the same phone. Other than that - very functional and easy to use.
Amazon Cloudy Way 20160127-We., Removed. 20160126-Tu., up'd. I may read the doc's (if I EVER re-install this malarchy).
Application is easy and convenient to use. However not all components are available eg: SQS. I need to launch browser for full functionality which defeats the purpose of the application. Hopefully AWS is working on providing at least basic functionalities for all components.
errors i downloaded it three times bwcause i was never able to login to my account
Aws sns Is sns available in this app?
Cross-account access doesn't work so this app is completely useless if you're following best practices.
Incomplete implementation of console Unfortunately, the console does not provide all capabilities. For instance, it is lacking the ability to create or update cloudformation stacks.
Where is the ..... ....virtual Amazon mfa app or functionalty...can't even find it on Google play store.so..can't even log in to my accont now...very poor user experience from Amazon
It's awesome. I am really enjoying this app. It's UI is more attractive than desktop version.
I am Abdul Mazed. I have been doing this course for 02 month. I am a freelancer on Amazon. So i had searched tutorial on Amazon. After many search i get this app on AWS. Then i have started my learning on this course. This course and udemy really awsome.
Just fine I was actually looking for all services like datapipeline, EMR, SNS etc. After all it's all about invoking your services. Also if you can allow operations as per users, it will be great.
The app is awesome, and you can do urgent tweaks to environments, but you cannot edit ACLs, which is quite limiting.
Decent app It's easy to use and can be really helpful as long as the services you want to manage are manageable. Unfortunately I grabbed it to create records in R53 and that wasn't an option.
No native app? You guys are Amazon! How you don't have a fully native android app for AWS? Hire me I can make it possible :)
Cannot edit Records on Route53. Otherwise good experience overall
Great. Please add IAM functionalities!
Let's you do some things but the fact that it makes you login every time and you can't even paste the password just forces you to either not use it when on the go or makes you use a weaker password.
Support console would be nice Would be nice to be able to respond to tickets on the go. Lambda, SQS support would also be cool. Other than that works great!
This apps is really great as a international course. I have been learning everything on Amazon by this course. This apps help me to increase experience on Amazon. Now i am professional freelancer on Amazon. Really great.
Incorrect UX Stop, reboot and terminate placed scarily on EC2 instance home screen...
Add s3 bucket uploads Add upload on s3 storage
Start/stop/terminate Great app, but placing terminate instance button right under the start/stop button is not very goog idea. You can make mistake easilly.
great app and really useful for resource management on AWS
Great app, works very well Use this daily, very convenient and flexible. No problems which is a rare find for me. This is just a status app but also features key functionality without making things annoyingly complex.
Need to log in EVERY SINGLE TIME Adding an identity only stores the username and not the other login credentials. What's the point of having a mobile app which needs to be logged in to EVERY SINGLE TIME like a web browser? That's pathetic.
Good for monitoring But it needs an SSH client or something to connect to instances. With that its 5 stars
Aws for me it's amazing Web services, thanks amazon for these handy app
Perfect This app does everything I need it to.
Only some features There is no sns and ses viewing features
Good tool Easy to use and powerful enough
Lack on some function
Good App. But there's a big BUG when updating security group entries referring to VPC. When adding new entry the App does not show those referring to other SG, just CIDR. And also by mistake it removes those entries.
Cool Make simple work with any device...not mean I am workaholic.
Why you guys can't build a native app?
meh cannot check logs.. useless.
Lacks lots of functionality
No ability to paste password With a very long, random password on my account, I use a password manager from which I normally copy and paste my password into apps and websites. The inability to paste a password into the app makes logging in very difficult. Please consider supporting the use of password managers.
Useless if you are looking for cloudwatch logs I wanted to review cloud watch logs, this doesn't do that. No thanks. Uninstalled.
Important app for management on the go Can't manage redshift with it needs some more features like advanced snapshot management spot instances etc...
Awesome Awesome took to manage on go items ec ec2, load balance and auto scaling groups. Would be nice devs can plan and add code deploy and elastic cache.
Half assed Like any other AWS product. Such a big corporation, such incomplete and shabby products.
It is great for managing EC2 I would like to see billing features added - so I can view my bill and costs e.t.c.
The part frustrates me the most is the fact it logs me out every 12 hours. And it basically renders this app useless.
App Load Balancers missing Really good for managing most of the important services for us, but unfortunately the new Application Load Balancers don't show up yet.
Very poor user experience, especially with login and interacting with the resources that you want to manage. Please have a go at rewriting it in a Native App instead of a Webview it will be so much better
I like it See you all member AWS in indonesia ( event 15 Sept 2016 )
Good Stuff Handy stuff and let you manage many if AWS services
Not all metrics were available.
Limited Would love to see more services support and a nicer UI
Useful. Adding fingerprint/PIN authentication is important.
They really missed a trick for entering in IAM credentials, something like a QR code would help no end, especially when in their panel someone in their infinite wisdom decided to use a variable width font that makes differing characters look the same (eg. the number one and a capital 'i'). Also the S3 file browser passes invalid pre-signed URL's to the browser so it totally useless and just presents you with an 'Invalid Token' every time. In short, it really feels like a tool the developers themselves do not use day in day out and as such the usability is really quite awful.
Love it What a convenient way of controlling and monitoring different web services provided by Amazon!
Average No option to check bill
Kinesis Please add Kinesis support
