Download Auto Brightness Switch apk 1.3.0 free for Android smartphone
Apk file size: 1.2 MB
This application switches on or off auto brightness on Android 2.2+ phones. It saves the last manually set brightness level in order to return to that level when auto brightness is disabled.
This app is not a widget, so it won't show you the current setting visually, it won't take up extra memory, and it won't bog down your home screen.
You can also trigger it by holding down the search button (if any) on your phone.
Please email the developer with bugs or feedback. Auto Brightness Switch is open source and released under the GPL license. Patches and translations are welcome.
- Add support for Android 6 (Marshmallow) runtime permissions. When you run the app, it will prompt you to allow it to edit system settings. This is necessary to change brightness settings.

not working on Acer Iconia A210 4.0.4 Sorry, but I can't get it work on my Iconia A210 (just updated on ICS 4.0.4). It doesn't switch auto brightness on, it just changes the brightness state to the previous by going in OFF?!? Strange...
Works good on Xperia Ray 2.3.4 ...But it'd be even more good if brightness level could increase a little bit faster, as when you take you phone out of a pocket a sunny day, it takes time before you can read the screen. Also, it'd be good if the brightness could decrease to and start from even 0%, as now it needs to be a step brighter than 0 for this app to start working. On Xperia Ray, a 0% is ideal for low light conditions, but in a lighter environment you need to revert it to some bigger value - not so handy, alas.
Works - fire and forget! Xperia Arc S and Pro (other Xperias probably, too) came with optional on screen toggle, which in my case toggles between stronger (+auto off) and very dim (+auto on) backlight (very hard detectable). Which is both non-logical and useless. This app worked very good, and is lightweight. It really just switches auto on/off, leaving me to choose working levels. I don't know if it sorts bugs in original solution, makes it's own calculations, or something else, but the result is nice: brightness slowly changes when outer light changes. It is mild and sufficient. Just like it should be! Developer - thank You very much.
only works once Seems to only work once - after it turns off auto brightness it goes down to the previously set level, but turning it back on never seems to work - the screen stays at the same level until you go into Settings and toggle it. Also tried to find an e-mail address to report a bug to, but there's none in the description or readme on the developer's site. Seen on a TMo G2 running Gingerbread.
Just what I wanted. Thanks for a great app. Is there a way to trigger it by holding down the Back key instead of the Search key?
:-( Worked perfect the first time I installed pn my Xperia neo V until I restarted my phone n boom.. didn't work a bit after restart. I uninstalled n then again installed but still nothing.. not working again no matter how many times I reinstall. :-( plz try fixing it for Xperia neo V bcoz auto-brightness is the only thing I hate about this phone.. :-( n moreover I dun wana root my phone and install that xda app cz i'l lose my warranty.. :-( n it worked the very first time so I wish it does again. Plz Andy B
Unnoticeable I didn't notice any difference unfortunately n I downloaded this morning and have had the auto brightness on all day.
Exactly what I was looking for I like my screen lowest in the dark and auto elsewhere. Too many apps and Widgets cycling through 8 settings. Not this. Tap and auto brightness on. Tap and its off. Thanks.
(Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop) Does what it says, no special permissions, love it! P.S. If you can, please make it a widget instead of open a window as if it's an app, thanks!
Just what I needed This is an app and not a widget which means I can trigger it from widgets like Zooper. Would be perfect if it didn't show up on the recent apps switcher screen.
Sony Xperia Ion Worked at first but later didn't work at all. Please fix for Sony Xperia Ion!!
It doesn't work I am using xperia neo and the app is not working at all.
Simple! This brightness app saves me several annoying menu steps to do what ought to be on the Verizon S3's widget bar... thanks! :-)
As good as it gets This app is perfect for my needs. The slight delay in auto-brightness level is a stock limitation, not a fault with the app itself.
Doesn't work on HTC Sensation. Only the first time.
Would give it 5 stars if.. This toggle is the only one I've found that simply toggles auto-brightness on and off, with one click, no gradients. But, it misses a 5 because when clicking back to auto, sometimes it won't take effect until you turn off the screen. That's a bug. Hope it's fixed soon.
Quick fix for annoying little problem -- Thanks! Accidentally turned on "auto brightness" on a phone that doesn't support this feature. The support board for the ROM I flashed said to run this to fix it, and it worked like a charm.
Great Great app! Nothing to say no more! Fix my auto brightness problem in just a click!
Does not work for Xperia Neo.
Thank you! HTC Amaze-EXACTLY what I was looking for. No wonky permissions, no ads, just turns on and off my auto brightness...in a very tiny package. Perfect.
It does exactly what it says on the tin Simple and effective.
Exactly what I wanted I didn't want some fancy program that automatically search brightness or one that had a zillion different features all this does is turn auto brightness on and off which is exactly what I wanted thank you so much it's perfect now I don't have to dig into my settings or my deep screens to find that setting I'm legally blind and this is a God send in bright sunlight
Successfully toggles autobrightness but.. Doesn't automatically change the brightness, atleast on evo 3d
Super Works on my galaxy note and nice icon!
Xxx Easy enough for your mom to use. Nice.
My Review Please work i dont think its been workin on my Huawei.. My Huawei does not have an auto brightness switch built in my phone.
Doesn't work Auto bright off doesn't work on xperia neo
Bug: Forgets brightness Switches between auto and always 50% no matter what you set - I need auto and 0% :(
Just what I was looking for Unique to other brightness widgets and apps, this one will just turn auto brightness on or off and return to the last manual setting.
Great app!! It really works I was not able to disable auto brightness. It did... Thanx Andy brody
Perfect Changes auto on/off on app tap.
What? Does not work on my xperia
Hdk Really rock. Performance great work ^^
Almost perfect App still appears to run in the background, as it remains in the list of recently used apps.
Must have Helps save battery and use phone in outdoors,
Needs no description It is a true app like a true friend
I have grand neo plus and it dosen't have light sensor I hope it works
Not bad, but.. Not working on SE X10.
Perfect! Exactly what I needed. You don't even need the widget since the search button controls the brightness level. Awesome.
yamm Perfect to set brightness on sunny weather
This app is a perfect complement to other apps like "All in One Gestures". Now when it's bright out and I cannot see the screen, I just swipe the screen edge to toggle auto-brightness.
Simply does not work on my Moto X Play Simply does not work on my Moto X Play
Perfect An easy way to override the adaptive brightness when it is functioning inappropriately, such as when phone is under a downlight.
Perfect Galaxy Tab S 10.1 Works perfectly on my Tab S simplicity itself
awsome beauty is in simplicity
Perfectly Work great on my Xperia 5.1.1
0 star Doesnt work on LG G3 beat
My phone is samsung grand prime. Yea its an automatic brightness but it don't adjust the low automatic brightness or high automatic brightnes. It's brightnes is just stable not like those in samsung note or samsung grand 2. Can u explain why? Naah
Force stops on marshmallow
Just what i needed 1-》Its a pity so many Users dont know that Auto-brightness(Sensor) hardware is needed for an Auto-brightness app to work, and these r the people givin low rating lol!!!. 2-》I dunno why Stock Android 6.0 dont have Auto brightness Activate option beside Brightness adjust scroll. Anyway this app solved my problem. THANKS developer!!!
Very useful for android 6.x which has no such button in comparison with android 5.x.
Works perfectly with GMD Gestures Whenever my display is to dim, and I can't find my brightness slider or widget because of sunlight or whatever. I just use the gesture I've set in GMD to autolaunch this app, and it ups the brightness for me. Awsome :-)
It's just switcher "Auto brightness - On/Off"
Super app Its Memory Is low... Its Run As A Widget... Great App!!!
Used to work great but in marshmallow on my s7 edge it doesn't work pls fix issue
Crashes in 6.0 Was great in previous OS version, can't open in 6.0 - crashes every time.
Plz don't download this is fully fake
Very good app This app is small and useful for android user.
Works perfect It's exactly what I needed, it does what it's suppose to, no hassle no stupid ads. A perfectly good app. Recommended for anyone using stock Android.
Is this app only for phones with light sensor? Or without sensor it will work
Works fine I needed this feature very much after Google removed off auto brightness control from the slider panel. This application is working perfectly for that purpose.
Responsive Button to lighting Easy to use, especially when used together with Jakcom Key App for quick action.
Phone issue resolved! Fixed my Galaxy Grand Prime brightness control.
Doesn't work Does nothing
