AppBugs app is unique
AppBugs help you find out which apps installed on your device have dangerous security flaws that can be exploited by attackers to steal your private data and cause financial loss. Example flaws include HTTPS defects reported by Ars Technica (http://goo.gl/E2CAfn), social login vulnerabilities reported by VentureBeat (http://goo.gl/ROSDX8), password brute force issues reported by PC Magazine (http://goo.gl/4omEbi), and many others. These flaws are uncovered by AppBugs. No other security apps can detect them.

AppBugs app informs you critical bugs in your apps and lets you take actions

If you have a smartphone or tablet, you probably have apps on your device with security bugs. Those security bugs are backdoors to your device that allow malicious people to access your personal data, steal your money, or take control of your device.

Today’s antivirus programs are designed to remove malicious apps, but they are not helping you find the backdoors in the well-known apps on your device.

The AppBugs app is different. It focuses on finding security loopholes in the apps you use everyday and allows you to take actions to protect yourself. AppBugs lets you watch a demo video of the security bugs in action, you can share the bug details with friends, or you can leave public comments about the bug or the app. Then, you can decide to uninstall the app, if you’d like, and wait for the app to get fixed before re-install it. There is more… If you want to install a new app from Google Play store, you can use the App Search feature to see if the app has any security. This information can help you avoid installing vulnerable apps.

AppBugs keeps improving the security of your apps

New vulnerabilities arise every day and it is very hard for most app developers to keep up with latest vulnerability information. AppBugs continuously checks offline the apps that our users install against the latest vulnerabilities. AppBugs immediately notifies the app developers once any new vulnerabilities identified and monitors the bug fixes. Through this offline process, users who use AppBugs app enjoy more secure apps than those who do not.

AppBugs app is safe to install, it requests just a few permissions, and doesn’t look at your personal files.

AppBugs app is FREE to use!

The security bugs we found already affect over 1 billion people and we're adding more every day

Install AppBugs app today and enjoy all the unique features that no other security app offers!

Any reply from Dev re Ian Kinnel's question? Just ran a scan and color notebook app was flagged. Deleted as the app as a precaution. However I am still interested to know if the other apps are safe just because it did not on a database or is the app being tested in some way.

Ken Leong

Love your app But Google Play Store isn't letting me update the app, among others, as the download speeds are excruciatingly slow. Nothing wrong with my internet as I can install random apps at maximum speed. I'll just uninstall it and try again some other time. Thanks

John Chan

Ran fine on my Note 4 and found a couple of offending apps. Unfortunately it crashes on my Tab Note 10.1 16 Gig. I'm looking forward to using it on my tablet once a patch is found. Thanks for the app! ********************* Update June 26th: latest patch fixed crashing issue. Well done, Rui.

Matt Sharp

Does what it says, but still lacking Interface looks like it is from a dodgy internet site. Technical details are sparse on bugs, making it hard to judge the severity for myself.

Diego Miele

Ok now! I just installed... ...the last version, and it's working fine! Thanks to developers :)

Graham Strother

Does what it says on the tin "bad" apps installed on my phone and tablet now have parity. Impressed with responsive support.

David Lynas

Excellent app Previous crash on scan has been resolved with latest update, kudos to the devs for both their initial feedback and speedy fix.

Laura Roth

Easy and quick security check This app is so easy to use it is a no-brainer. Read a news blub that this app had found vulnerabilities in many common apps. Fortunately for me it showed 100% secure.

Matthew Coles

Sparse interface, and a game? I was curious to see which of the apps pending updates on an ancient version of android had security defects. To my surprise, scanning took <10 seconds and found no issues. Maybe good. Also was surprised that the app is also a game, where users get 'gold coins' for clicking on found defects. No mention of this in play store, but the about page has instructions for the game. Interesting.

Christian Bogus

No "bugs" found That's good, right? :-)

Ian Kinnell

Like the concept Not sure whether this is actually scanning, or just comparing installed apps with a database of known vulnerable apps. With the speed of completion and what's said in the description, I think this is querying a database and comparing - In which case reporting : "No critical bugs found" is very misleading! It should say "No matches found" - I could have 10 dodgy apps which haven't been tested yet! There's no list of current vulnerable apps either.

Scott Schmit

Crashes on Samsung Galaxy S3 Running Galaxy S III (SGH-T999) with Android 4.1.2. It crashes as soon as I start the scan.

ian marcinkowski

Great app idea! I love shaming bad developers in to fixing their apps.

Lee Britten

Yeah 100% no bugs for me

George Markward

Works fine on a Nexus 7

Carlos Edwardos

I am sure this is likely a great app, but it crashes on my phone as soon as you hit the scan button - the message is: "Unfortunately, AppBugs has stopped" - my phone is an LG Optimus G (E970) and I am running on Android Jellybean version 4.1.2 (kernel version 3.4.51) on AT&T in USA - I have 200 other apps running just fine, so I don't think it is a phone issue. All requested app permissions were granted.

Jerome Lunblass

Curious.. I use my own homebrew encryption functions for authentication over http socket to my server and I wasn't detected by this.. that's a good thing but makes me wonder how you are detecting authentication while bypassing unencrypted normal traffic which I also use.. does this only check if the developer is using well-known third party apis for authentication? Anyway well done, was half expecting a false positive to goad me into using an api or standard that I don't really trust..

Benjamin Cathey

Trial even though upgraded? Paid for subscription but still says "Trial". Seems like a bug?

Joseph Caleb Katz

Tried to write to developer but post failed I spent a good deal of time writing only to get Post failed but no explanation of why..... This is what I wrote to pockets aka save it late. while I do use a very sechure password.... never repeating for your site 4 lower case alpha 2 numbers four upper case alpha and 1 simple single symbol. most people use the same password username in multiple locations. so insecurity in one location is insecurity in all locations.

Zhou Li

Fantastic app! I'm always wondering which apps should I avoid to install and this app gives great answer!

Lola martinque

Great app! This app proved to be extremely useful! Thanks!

Steve Yang

Awesome app! Finally, I can see which apps on my phone can be easily hacked. Thank you AppBugs!

Jeff Chen

An excellent and unique security app for finding app vulnerabilities If you have many apps, this app is definitely worth using. It tells you which of those apps you use have security weaknesses and whether those weaknesses have been fixed or not. It also tells you what to do to reduce your risk if a vulnerability is not fixed yet.

Changsi An

This is a good service, because it makes the apps I use safer.

Elvis Shen

Great Security App This is awesome! The app do keep me safe on my Android!

Rui Xiao

Accurate detection, powerful protection and great user experiences. I suggest every android user who cares security and privacy install it.

Rick Daly

Crashes on my Android, I will check back for updates

bujji bj

Nice It works like a charm

Draven Loomis

Good way to check 3rd party apps You dont even have to scan your phone you can just look the app up first and then download it

David David

Scareware No longer tells you why the apps have security flaws, now need to pay a monthly fee for that.

Cult Doctor

Expensive Lists apps w claimed risks, then price of $10 per year on how you can fix

Mathew Nau

The app runs efficiently and cleanly. It's transparent in the information it gathers.

Steve Yang

I like this app uses very few system resources and collects only two pieces of data that are needed to function.

Valter Mordstein

Scareware after update Same business model as several antivirus programs. Uninstalled, good luck to you.

Graham Strother

Scareware You have to pay to know anything about the security issues after the latest update. I'll pass. Details should be free, charge for stuff beyond that if you must. (change made server side, old versions do the same thing) Previously: "bad" apps installed on my phone and tablet now have parity. Impressed with responsive support

John Walker

Upgrade is Subscription Not posting to debate the merits of this business model but to let others know what they're in for. I'm a good capitalist, but $1/mo or $10/yr seems a bit steep for a single purpose app. Of the 381 user apps I have installed, the free scan found 1 potentially problematic app. Grateful for that, but can't justify a subscription. Best to the dev's, though.

Michael Jarvis

This product is a great idea, and will hopefully encourage app developers to improve the security of their products. It seems to work well on my device.

Matt Smith

Get your own house in order before criticizing others I tried several times to send feedback through the app and not once did it go through. The bug descriptions are shown in quite poorly contrasting colors (very light gray on white background), making them difficult to read. Your feedback form asks for a name, but only allows one letter to be entered at a time ("swype" disabled). I've only used the app for a couple minutes, so who knows what other stumbling blocks are waiting to be found.

MrDavidwang2009

Pretty nice app! How could I not find it earlier?? Best one in the free app category.

Bobby J. Rogers

AppBuggs It seems to be a pretty good app.( For being a beta version.)

LSRKrishna SASTRY

Now you can download apps confidently. Good job. Keep it up.

Cyran Huggins

Fix Fixed bugs

Surya Kumar

Balantrapu madhu Appbugs app is very good to identify bugs

Scott Schmit

Developers are responsive to negative reviews This app used to crash on my phone, but now it works. Kudos to the developers for their responsiveness! Simple to use, too.

Joe Younger

Motorola Droid Turbo Found security flaws in two apps right off the get go! Many thanks.
