It's good and bad It is a pretty decent tracker in my experience, but since we are between waves I will be turning it off because it is eating my hotspot data. This is a really annoying since I have not checked the option to use data and my hotspot is turned off on my phone. If it gets fixed, I will change my score.
Does not work with Smyths or Nintendo store The 2 UK retailers, Smyths and Nintendo store are listed, but I never get any alerts. Either make them work or remove them. Works with Amazon, though.
Just got Pit Love it. The sole reason I got Pit today was because this notified me.
Used all of my mobile data The app has a box that says "check to use mobile data (not recommended)". So, of course, I did NOT check that box. Therefore, I assumed it wouldn't use mobile data. I was wrong. It used 1.99 of my monthly 2.0 GBs of data in three days. Now I have to wait 27 days to turn my mobile data back on or else pay overage charges. Thanks a lot.
still working? ness was up for some time on GameStop just now but this never said anything I have it tracking both so it should have
Doesn't work It missed the Ness updates, everything is set up right.
Best tool for amiibo hunting Amiibddy really feels like a top developer app without having to shell out more than a buck! A star should be deducted because the app is heavily dependent on what the retailer website says, rather then being able to process the info in the app to minimize false positives. But that's really nitpicking, so overall great app :)
Looks good but... So far it looks really good but after picking some amiibo to track I tried to select the retailer and it just says downloading from server. Once this is fixed I will change my rating. Right now I can't do anything.
Still eats data? After owning this app for collecting purposes and using it extensively, I found that it was still taking data even though I had checked the box for it to disable mobile data. This should probably be addressed with priority. Other than that, it's a standard app with some NFC ability which I feel is not really worth the dollar.
Awesome An amazing app but it needs more to keep interest between waves.
Great idea, but... I have to manually enter which each Amiibo is whenever I try to NFC scan, which is annoying. I hope this is fixed soon (I'll update my review when/if it is). On a side note, the ability to use this app with the multi-window function of Samsung Galaxy S5 (and whatever else has this feature) would be stellar! ((EDIT: I was wrong about the theme thing being broken, but my assumption was that the app already came with a few themes already set to correspond with the character figure you used.))
Tracking Hey umm the tracking is kinda broken because it says charizard is available but it's not plz fix
Useful app with downsides This seems like it would be a very useful app, but I am uninstalling it due to the amount of battery life it uses. It also uses a lot of data, so make sure you have the mobile data option off (it is off by default).
Great idea However the amiibo nfc part is not working I keep getting an unknown error when reading my amiibo please fix for the 5 star!!!
Too many flaws for a paid app Very rarely do I feel like I wasted a dollar but this is one of those times. The tracking aspect where it will alert you to when an amiibo is in stock is hours and sometimes days behind. The near field communication aspect works half the time. The battery usage is unacceptable. I have removed amiibo from the tracking aspect but I still receive alerts. The app looks slick but its functionality leaves a whole lot to be desired.
Suggestion Absolutely fantastic!! My only suggestion is to give the option to turn on or off the sound that used to play when you touch an amiibo to the phone. It was a subtle ding to let you know it accepted the scan. I liked that and was disappointed on the removal.
Not bad Tracking doesn't include Australian companies. There should be information about the amiibo when you click on them, such as rarity. Otherwise, a nice app.
Ugh fix it Lucina is NOT available on target so stop showing her as such. App seems okay but is definitely pretty useless so far. Haven't been able to get one amiibo for a decent price yet.
Pretty good Love it accept the interface doesn't really match material design as well as I scanned my toon link, pikachu and Yoshi and it recognised it was a amiibo but had no clue which one.
Cool but needs update Still has silver mario as not released yet. Just sayin...
Works ok Didnt send alert for marth at wal mart or silver mario at target. Kind of disappointed in that. I did get a marth from amazon from this app. Good job. Just need a little tweak
works well it manages to alert me in a timely manner, however notifications only work with sound and don't force the phone to vibrate. this is a problem due to most people being at work during regular business hours. for reference, I am using a galaxy s5.
Idea is awesome. But I kept getting Unknown Error and every amiibo I've scanned can't be read or identified.
Bowser Jr became available on Nintendo UK store, and I missed it. I'd signed up for updates for when Bowser Jr became available on Game and Nintendo's UK store and I was never told. Very disapointed I paid for an app that doesn't work, and I managed to secure a preorder in the end by checking GAME online myself. If I'd just relied on the app I'd have missed another opportunity! EDIT: I was just informed in a reply that were was a reason for this, and that the 'codes' weren't publicly available yet. I've raised the rating a bit to accommodate this but still have mixed feelings, since it's a shame it doesn't track new preorders like this.
Great with a few bugs. The most recent update seems to have broken the "don't use my data" option though. I still have it set to only use wifi, but it used 1.4gb of my data plan today. Just thought I'd give you the heads up!
Really neat app and the developer is quick to fix/update/respond Very customizable app that notifies me rather quickly :D i've just been in class most of the times its gone off and thats not the apps fault xP best thing to me is that the developer actually listens to everyones queries and response quickly as well as updates often!! The only thing is that the NFC doesn't work on my LG G2 not sure if the phone matters, but i hope letting the developer know what phone i have helps!! xD
Arguably the most useful android app I've ever used This is a godsend for anyone who is looking for rarer amiibos, no bugs and amazing side features. 10/10
Cool app Still needs a lot of work, but did it's job and alerted me to an Ike restock and I got one. Really appreciate this app. It's fun and useful, just needs some time to evolve. Not every function works or works well, but I can only be so displeased when it did score me a couple rare amiibo!
A amiibros best friend this app has helped me get a little mac and a marth a must have for collectors
Amiibo tracking fail I used this to track amiibo but I only get notified once they have sold out
Great app but with slight issues. Awesome app that does a great job tracking, but like others have said, it's eating up hotspot tethering data and not mobile data. Also, my amiibo don't scan. I also have feature requests (I don't know if it's possible) but perhaps there's a way to track certain amiibo to certain retailers? For instance, I may want to track Pac-Man to retailers a and b while I just want to track Lucina to retailers x, y and z. That way, I don't keep getting a bunch of alerts for amiibo for a retailer I don't want it from.
Great for tracking After some bug fixes, this app is great. Instant alerts, dozens of sites to track, NFC is a cool gimmick. It does kind of eat up your battery, so just watch that.
This app works awesome when it works to its potential This app is great, the main functionality works good but not perfect. Sometimes I've noticed reports of an amiibo up for pre order but no notification from amiibuddy. However do not let this be a deterrent, when amiibuddy works it's awesome. I've been able to preorder multiple amiibo including Greninja and Jigglypuff at MSRP thanks to this app. The tracking service is fully customizable so you can set it up to your liking no sweat. This app is most definitely worth a buck.
Still a pretty young app, but author is actively working on fixing bugs and making improvements. Worth it just for the solid stock tracking feature.
helped me score rare amiibo but has serious issues Mobile data usage counts as mobile hotspot and spent all 3gb of my hotspot data in a matter of days. Why? Fix this and you get 5*.
