had to uninstall amazon music The latest update has turned amazon music into the most power hungry application I have, forcing me to Disable. Android Battery monitor shows that this is the highest consumer of energy and this was confirmed - my battery usage went from 100 mA/hour to > 700aA/hour; that's enough to keep my phone pretty warm. I can go more than a day on a charge, but I couldn't get thru the morning today. Pls resolve as this is my primary tool for music
Shuffle? Now all my songs are shuffling.... Not good. Can't find the option to turn it off ANYWHERE.
Works but annoying as hell The app works fairly well and the music selection is okay. But what drives me crazy is the little bubble with the lyrics follows when I use other apps. Also it doesn't close down when I end all programs. Frustrating as hell.
Music Where is phone going wrong? ? I try to listen but the data keeps coming on...I won't use music until I can get it offline. Is there a monthly way to pay?? I can't afford $99 all at once.
It's good People here complaining about the power usage...it's not that bad. The only issue I have is that my songs skip sometimes. They'll cut out, then come back on. But the player will play the song at twice the speed until it gets to where the song would of been had it not skipped. Fix this...and you get 5 stars.
Used Too Much Battery I like the app, but it is constantly running in the background. It uses more energy than my operating system. The only thing that uses more energy than this app is my screen. There is no reason for that kind of drain on my battery especially since I have it set up to not run in the background when I'm off Wi-Fi. I'm taking it off off my phone. Hopefully they fix the glitch.
When it works... ...it's great. Unfortunately, this app is pretty unreliable. I'll have a music station playing and the app will just stop working. Lately it's been playing one song on a station then stopping. I have to open the app and hit the station again to play another song. As an Amazon Prime member, this is really disappointing. I find myself using Pandora more.
Pretty Good It needs some fine turning, but overall it's pretty good. Since I already have a Prime account, I consider that a bonus. Amazon gives free 2-day shipping, free movies, tv shows, and now this. I love them all.
Previous issues fixed, new problem though.... This app was great & worked well on my Samsung Galaxy tablet 2014 until it was changed & "updated". Now every time I try using app, it self-closes. It doesn't even make it through half a song. **Update** Previous issue fixed regarding tablet. Now, when using my LG G3 & I try to look at lyrics, I get a notification that says, "Unfortunately, Amazon Music has stopped working." As long as I don't attempt the lyrics it seems to work fine though.
No longer works for me App music stop streaming from the cloud. Can only stream I'd download to device and no options to move songs to sd card. This app is totally useless to me and it use to my favorite. I wish amazon would get it together they definitely have the right idea if it would just work.
Works great for me, but. I like the app, but my major grip is when playing via blue tooth in my car. It doesn't send track info to my cars screen. And no it isn't my phone, because my stock Samsung music player will. I don't use the Samsung app because it won't play my Amazon Prime free music downloads. And as far as the reviews below this one, I haven't had any of those issues, everything works great. Edit I recieved an OS update to Android 5.0.1, and that fixed the problem. Galaxy S4.
Used to work much better. Used to purchase most of my music on this app, as I despise iTunes...but since it's most recent update, this app has become crash-prone: every time I try to browse by subgenre-ex: punk and hardcore, it instantly crashes. Might have to find somewhere else to buy my music if it does not get fixed!
Samsung Galaxy S5 Edited: Downloaded the update and went from 3 stars to 2. App navigation isn't simple and easy. I don't like that I have to listen to it via network/wireless. It skips like a scratched CD even with a good connection. I have to always adjust my "shuffle" and "repeat" since app doesn't remember my choices. And the widget doesn't allow me to control all functions wth out actually getting into the app. Wish I could download a prime music and use another music widget.
Used to work better I have a Samsung galaxy s5 loaded with over 4 thousand songs. I used to be able to leave it on shuffle and it would shuffle through my list ok, but after the latest update the shuffle stops at about 40 songs like it's through passing all songs. Even if i leave it at just a single artist with all their songs it plays up to 40 and then quits after that. Please fix, regular music player included with my phone play all but 500 songs since they're amazon prime, the rest i own.
STATIONS Needs one for top 40. When opening the app and heading to Recents, instead of playing the whole station, it just plays one song and then the station ends. It should be directing to Prime Music, NOT Recent Activity upon opening the app as Prime Music plays the whole station.
Where's all my music? I had to do a factory reset on my Galaxy S5 and when I downloaded this app, thinking there would be a restore purchases option, I come to find that there is not. Such a rip off if I can't get the songs I bought back on my device. If there is a fix for this please let me know.
Dear Amazon, please copy Spotify I was excited about this addition to Prime mostly because I thought I would be saving money by being able to cancel my Spotify account. It has been kind of a let - down; the music selection is very limited, the UI sucks, the features are super basic and the radio feature is alright. The only good thing about this service is that it is free with Prime. I realize that this is a new program but it has a long way to go before it can compete with other similar programs. Please just copy Spotify and go from there
Skips, stalls, shut downs In short, it needs work. Just recently started skipping like a scratched CD while streaming to my car. Prior to this I had to restart the app several times to get it to play after it would force shutdown. The layout and organization is not nearly as user friendly as Apple or others but the music selection is good so I'll stick with it. Plus I've already paid for the year.
Skipping I like the selection of music and how easy the menu is setup. My biggest problem is the "skipping" of each song. I just give up and go back to another music program. It will either catch up or completely stop the song. I cannot speak to the battery drain, because I don't stay in the app long enough. I keep hoping they fix this, which is why I try it after every update.
Finally! This latest version has brought me back to using this app! The new search is SO MUCH easier to use to access my music. I pay to store all of my music in Amazon's cloud and ever since the into of prime music this app has been a disaster. Much improved!
Really dig the update. I'm personally not experiencing battery problems like the other reviews have, and I really like the new layout. I hated having to constantly go to "artist" every time I opened the app, but now it can load with it, which I'm happy about since I had gotten used to it with iTunes. I also like the rounded icons, it's more aesthetically pleasing to look at.
The more I use the less I like. This app will suck the life out of your phone.
Worse and Worse The functionality of their music app gets worse and worse with each update. Clicking on the widget just brings up the song that is currently playing and doesn't give you an opportunity to navigate to the rest of your library. The back button completely removes you from the app instead of displaying the app home screen. It also crashes more often than it should. The app completely lacks intuitive functionality, which is the cornerstone of a successful app. **UPDATE** App still sucks.
Prime Students don't qualify Who needs music at their beck and call greater than college students? Come on Amazon why is a PrimeStudent membership not enough to have access to the music we love?
Great Prime Stations I've had this app for awhile now. I do agree with some of the other comments that there are some issues with it. It will indicate that it is playing when it's not. This has always resolved itself easily. I have had Amazon Prime for 2 years and think the addition of the music has been well worth it. I like the new prime stations more than Pandora or any other music playing app. There are no commercials and the music is true to the station description and I'm pretty sure I've heard very little repetition.
Ok Okay is the right word but its kinda half baked. The interface is really clunky. No intuitive way to see your now playing list. The UI overall needs to be retooled. I'm very tech savvy but I'm having trouble navigating around the app effectively. Not to mention the battery drain mentioned by others is very accurate.
Fix all the downloading. The music selection is great, but the downloading is atrocious. It constantly fails downloads, and displays inaccurate download queues, if it displays them at all. It's a constant battle to get an album I paid full price for to download completely. Please, for the love of all that is holy, fix this. UPDATE: STILL HAPPENING.
Garbage Less useful and more clunky with every update. Completely counterintuitive functionality. Amazon Music is a really cool service and this app used to be great. Switching to Google.
Don't buy music on this you don't own it! I bought 100's of albums to find as soon as I'd no card, no access. I have a card now so I'm allowed to listen to the hundred plus albums I own. Good of them.I'm sick of the weekly updates too,not just this app,but many .no one,Inc Google can program for lollipop it seems.DON'T BUY MUSIC ON AMAZON
Much improved! The music selection is pretty great, and i love that it's included with my prime membership. Since the update the streaming is significantly smoother and faster, rating bumped back up to 5 stars!
Prime ad still locks me out This is beyond being simply annoying, when I bought from Amazon MP3 it was my understanding I'd be able to play the music I bought. Take a tip from stores like Bandcamp and cut out the bullshit. I WILL NOT BE BUYING A SUBSCRIPTION, I JUST WANT TO PLAY MY MUSIC.
Liked the app, but now won't download I used this a lot on my previous phone (Android 4.4) and it was great - I'm a prime member and I used the music library with download for offline listening extensively. Now I have a new device with Android 5.0 and this feature is essentially useless, because after I download some music (usually about 3-5 albums worth) the app crashes and then doesn't work AT ALL! After the crash it refuses to see my cloud library or my downloaded music. If I sign out and sign back in I can start the process all over... It's been doing this for the last 4-5 app updates and no sign of a solution. I've submitted several crash reports and haven't seen anything that addresses the problem. Please fix this, I'd really like to have this be a useful app again!
Buggy? Try infested! I will give props where props are due, Amazon actually fixed the UI. However now the play controls are often unresponsive from the lock screen, and when they finally work they skip in the middle of another song you're listening to which is very annoying. Also there is an occasional glitch that pauses the music for no apparent reason at all. Thank You Amazon for fixing the GUI however this is two steps forward and one step back. Hopefully next version will be better.
Just stop it from constantly restarting All Amazon apps are resource hogs. Make them work smarter
Great App! Thanks Amazon! I don't know what people are complaining about. This app is awesome and I love it! Most of the complainers are probably technology challenged. One addition would make it even better. Please add the ability to play prime music through Sonos. I'll give it 5 stars if that is done.
Player works great - and great support. I have used the Android Amazon music player for a long time to listen to my own music, music I purchased from Amazon and Prime Music. With the latest version I experience an issue with the sound cutting off. I contacted support and was impressed with the response. A knowledgeable support person got on the phone with me and we worked through the issue together. I don't think I have seen this level and quality of support anywhere.
Absolutely AMAZING! This app combined with an Amazon Prime membership is the key to workplace bliss as you can plug in and focus on your work without interruptions (if that's what you are into). Either way this thing is AWESOME!
Once again, U guys totally broke it! Since the last major update the app stinks! No locked screen controls, the list view is not shuffled, the widget is more crowded and hard to use anymore. Can we have the old version that worked back? U will get 5 stars back then too... Look at your reviews here!
Amazon music app Few drops when lesioning. You can pick from a large assortment of albums and songs or pick the apps assortment. Could use some work on downloading and a more simplistic way of Choosing songs out of the albums for downloading. But the best thing is, its free and no dam commercials. I like it. Steve
Recent updates have caused problems I am not happy with the most recent version. It's very difficult to navigate to the top of the list of songs in my library so that I can click shuffle. I liked the older version better it was much easier to navigate through albums, artists and songs. It's a little bit tricky to grab on to the side bar to drag it, especially to reach the shuffle button at the top of the list of songs. Also, I tried searching for songs and the app crashed REPEATEDLY; I mean it just FREAKED out. Very disappointed in the app now and I hope they fix it very soon.
Change system language to launch the app?? Guys, are you kidding?? Why don't you allow to launch the app without changing my device's system language?? If you don't translate into all languages it's ok - Android will automatically select strings.xml from default res/values folder. But let me choose what system language to use on my phone by myself.
Asked to change language, but then just crushed and deleted without my permission. It's really strange.
Useless at the moment My phone is in Russian, which is something I'm unwilling to change, and this app refuses to move past asking me to change languages. As of now, I have to download music (purchased music!) to my computer and transfer to my phone from there. Inconvenient, when there's this app that could do it directly. Please think about remedying! (I will continue purchasing music from amazon, here and there, but will be less ready to do so due to this issue.)
Cannot use on nexus4 with RU OS I cannot use on my Nexus 4 because my operating system is in Russian.
Not usefull Absolutely unusefull application. Always asks to switch phone language to english. It seems that other languages and their speakers are just ignored. It really awful!
Unusefull Unusefull and undeletable shit
Force stop issues! I just downloaded this ap because I'm a prime member. This ap constantly keeps stopping and closing on me while I listen, search or switch songs. Can you look into that please. I'd give 5 stars once that's resolved. Thank you
Can't search sux Now can't search for music!! What else can't search for movies is next!!! Prime is going backwards think I may give up my membership all together. Been prime member for years. What happened!!!!!????
Don't bother paying for a download since it won't show up on your device Boo! Don't waste money buying songs so you can download them since it won't download but they still charge you.
Prime isn't so Prime I signed up for Amazon Prime. Not a bad deal, but like a previous poster, most of the songs I wanted werent so Prime, so they weren't free and I still have to pay for them if I want to listen. I found there was a lot, about half of the songs I wanted not available for free with Prime, so its just OK.
Amazon is the new Charlie Brown They'll just never go all the way. The issue with this app is that it's nice to listen to music without a periodic stutter in the stream and otherwise the experience sucks way too much too enjoy it. Of course, ONLY this app/service has this problem and yet sells itself as being at all viable.
Good interface, but no option to download to external SD The good: Clean, intuitive interface. The bad: No support for external SD card for cached prime music, no volume normalization, cannot "archive" purchased songs that you don't want to see in the album.
I use TO love it Just recently it started closing down on me. It keeps asking to send an error report before a spng starts even playing. I am getting frustrated with the app and very disappointed. I have never had this problem.
Keeps crashing! If i were to rate it a few months ago, i would have given this 5 stars- Loved it! I don't know what's wrong, but all it does now is crash. It's so frustrating and takes about 10 minutes to play a 3 minute song. I'm going to uninstall the app and reinstall and see if that helps. If anyone can help me, please respond.
Crash, crash, crash That pretty much sums it up. I live in a rural area and can't even get my downloaded music to play without crashing the app after one or two songs. This has been the case with the Amazon mp3 app and has carried over to the newly titled app. GET IT TOGETHER, AMAZON! PLEASE!
Poor Execution I have never been an iTunes person. I have had Amazon for years thus the bulk of my music collection is here. Being able to have it on my phone HTC M8 was wonderful but even with my songs downloaded the app freezes, glitches, stops working. When it works it's great but it's a 50/50 shot.
Poor music selection... And NOT used friendly. Its frustrating some of my fav artists are not available. I'll need to keep my other music apps on hand. I think we pay $15/mo for Rhapsody so not planning on giving that anytime soon. Plans on taking up that market share? Improve the music selection!
Bugs here and there I have a note 2, so older phone. The app will freeze sometimes and give me a not responding message, but it works well otherwise. It's a good way to listen to music if you have wi fi available most of the time. It's really slow if I'm trying to stream or download on just data.
Wow I've had prime student membership for over a year and just found out I had this available to me I've had no problems with connection that weren't the cause of the crappy wifi I'm on. Streams great. Just wish the library had more songs.
Grey Screen Used to love this app. But keeps getting stuck at a grey screen, trying to load. Tried restarting several times. Offline mode menus works fine, but then you can't stream your music.
The App is Ok, But Unlike others like Rhapsody app, they have built in Amps and Equalizer in the APP. With this AMAZON app I'd like to see a way to amplify the audio on the app and have 10 or more BAND Equalizer so that the listening will be much better and more loving...I just don't like the FLAT sound you get with the app...Amazon please look at the app that they use on Rhapsody...I think you should get something going fast. Because I do like my music streaming, but HATE the Flat and weak sound through my Beats Ear buds, by Dr.DRE. Other music apps sounds great, but Amazon don't .
Used to work great Updated 6/20 for latest version: Still stutters. The music playback is really choppy now. It used to be really smooth, but now there are a bunch of minute pauses like it's buffering or something. I'd understand if this was happening while I was streaming music, but it happens while I'm playing songs that I've downloaded. I love the app otherwise. It used to work great. I guess they screwed it up during one of the updates. I hope they fix it soon.
Love Amazon Prime Music, but the app is horrendous. I love Amazon Prime Music and download mostly everything for offline use, making it useful. The problem is that I never know if I'll actually be able to listen to anything, since the app constantly crashes. Often it happens immediately, sometimes during playback.. But I rarely use the app without a problem. High frustrating.
Kept Crashing, now fixed I just realized this app needed to be updated. Once I did this, it's been smooth running, no crashing, no complaints now.
Amazon has audacity This service is subpar. It's not even worth the mention in their ad. If you play a song or like a particular artist, seems Amazon don't want you enjoying it. Because you get error messages for those. Ridiculous. Im a prime member so I guess that means it doesn't matter. Because the other services work, uh. Fix this app, or offer it for free. Tired of the error messages.
Wamt free amazon prime? Go download app checkpoints use my code 'epidemia' when signing up and you can get free stuff easy. It'll help me out alot im a single father and need all the help i can get right now i have 3 kids.
Groovy 100 times better than itunes, I have thousands of songs that itunes won't let me add to my amazon playlist
i have the latest version and i am a prime member and i have not had any problem searchin' and findin' specific songs and i also have not had any issues downloadin' them to my offline library and i have th lg tone plus wireless headset that i connect bluetooth to my phone and can train for and run 5k's from my personal playlist that i have downloaded offline or be online with the station and i have not had any problems with it stoppin', sorry for all of you with issues but not everyone is havin' problems...
PLAYS YOUR VOICEMAILS TOO. App is dumb. Plays my voicemails when theyre not even in the same folder, or associated with this app too? Wtf? Can't differentiate between songs you downloaded from the app to what this dumb thing wants to play. If its a sound ANYWHERE on your device, this thing will play it. No logic.
Frustrating Still no way to exit without going to the task manager. The interface makes no sense at all. Sometimes I can see the playlist i'm listening to, other times I just get out back to the main menu and have to guess at what's playing next. Also can't choose what songs I want to hear next. This app is getting to be pretty useless.
Battery Drain My phone (Note4) gets 25 degrees hotter after using this app for 15 minutes (doesn't happen with other music apps). Based on the other reviews, I guess I should feel fortunate that at least it doesn't crash. Music selection is ok, about what I would expect for something that is essentially FREE (did not affect my decision to do Prime, so this was just a cool bonus, just gotta fix the battery drain issues).
Blank screen App starts, prompts sign-in, gives description of service, and proceeds to display a gray screen. No music capability. Using Samsung Galaxy S4 (Sprint)
Still micro stutter on Nexus 5 with latest updates Latest update has introduced micro stutter during playback with downloaded songs. It detracts from enjoying the music.
Improved Downloading or transferring playlist from cloud to the app is not working correctly, is only does partial songs, if the song is already on your phone, it won't add it to the list, that gets annoying if your playlist has 200 songs and only 10 were added when you tried to copy the playlist from cloud to a device
Wow I love it but am glad am not paying $99, half the songs there but other singers I never heard of sing them.
Forced to use your primary SD card Seriously no option to download to external SD card? No excuse for that, get your act together Amazon. It's like they want you to be forced to stream (and purchase prime) . Not everyone has unlimited data and 4G coverage wherever they go.
Stopped updating on phone The app stopped loading new music that shows up on my Amazon Music program on two laptops I have. Please fix.
Great App! I'm really enjoying the Prime Playlist feature. Sometimes I don't want to take time to create one. I have so much music in my personal collection it would be to time consuming. I just choose a list according to my mood and let Amazon do the work. We listen to the relaxing playlists while sleeping with our Echo and I use several others while at work or on the bus. The throw back lists are nice and I've listened to some new artists and genres that I've never heard before that are good.
Great but I cant get it to download to my memory card, only the phone!
Audio skips on Galaxy S4 with Lollipop The app worked great (5 stars) until upgrade to Lollipop. Audio now randomly skips like a scratched record when playing in offline mode.
Can't use two devices at once? Am I the only one that gets the error you are currently streaming music on another device and this will stop there if you play here? Total crap if I can't let my echo play and if I decide to use my cell it stops!
Jamming I am digging it. Could use some tweaking. Love the lyrics . I can sing along ah ah. Thanks Amazon ; )
UI Poor Compared to Similar Apps The user interface needs a complete overhaul to make it a much better product and to take advantage of the prime services
Still deciding if I like this app... How do I turn this app off easily ? I'm going to settings & logging out. Is this really the only way? Help
Prime If you don't have a prime account you are missing out on so many things
Device storage full? Don't think so! Amazon Prime member trying to download an album to my phone. Storage location set to my SD card (20Gb free). App then says "Device storage full Error 206"! Err why? Even internal memory has 2.6Gb free...
A good start Would be nice if pausing music, then hitting play did not restart the song, or start a new song. Switching between stations has caused multiple stations to play at once, had to force quit to stop it all. Decent selection of music, anxious to see how things improve as updates roll out.
Good app but.... It's a pretty good app for prim members. But I can't for the life of me install the latest update. I took the usually work arounds like clearing the app cache, and the app data. I have know idea why the app will not install on my phone....
Great app It's great, I just find it awkward to use sometimes. it used to be easier to search through your existing music by artist etc... like the idea of prime but not signed up yet. Want to check whether it includes prime video.
Frustrating user controls The app itself has a great selection of music, and a cool feature that recommends music to you based on what you have, HOWEVER the user controls aspect I have found to be frustrating and difficult to maneuver. I have amazon prime and recently added an album to my cloud. After listening to the album I wanted to downlad it onto my phone. I proceeded to purchase the album, which worked fine, it was when I tried to download it to my phone it said it was already in my library, and would not download the songs.
Unhappy with app I use to use this app a lot. Now very unhappy with it!! Tried to uninstall it,but it won't let me because it says update. I update it and can't find this app anywhere. It is like it has disappeared. I have purchased music. I don't know how to get it back!! What can I do?? Please advise!!
Piece of Crap So many times you download a song and it never puts it in the phone memory. And yes, I have plenty of memory. It states it's there in the app though. You get worse with every update. Find a developer that knows what they are doing. Pure junk!
Ok It high-jack's my active display on my Moto X Pure and won't go away even after force closing the app and clearing the Ram. Only app that does that. Update: That problem seems to be fixed, but now my lg watch r gets taken over. Can't exit out of the music app even after force stopping the Amazon music app. Very irritating. They make it hard to exit the app as it is.
Suggestions I wish that the albums and songs had original release dates viewable from the app. If you are like me, the year adds a lot to the context. It is as if no one at Amazon ever listened to music and asked, "When did this come out?" Plus, the selection is really narrow compared to trends. Plus, it is difficult to navigate. Sometimes the back button brings you to the playlist or album, but sometimes it closes the app. Plus the recommendations rarely hit the mark. The playlists are mostly poorly put together.
Unfinished. Crashes on average twice a day. Sometimes way more. Some lucky days not at all. Not stable enough to be my main music player, I drive all day and fighting this app and restarting my phone just to get this to work properly is unacceptable. Fix that and I'll fix my review.
Amazing! This app is an amazing perk of prime. Flawless playback (thanks to an update) and has a decent library. A little annoying thing is the low quality of the album art of prime music. The only function related problem is that the music control notification gets stuck loading if you skip through to many songs or after you have played music for awhile. Album art still syncs on lock screen however so it hasn't annoyed me too much(yet).
One major flaw ruins this app for me As a whole I like Amazon Prime and this music app, but one flaw is really aggravating me and making want to quit using it. If your music library contains anything that you haven't downloaded from amazon and you change anything with your account all of your playlist will disappear never to return. I recently just changed my amazon password and boom all my playlist gone again. It's getting so aggravating and amazon you need to address this. I should be able to save and recover my playlist.
Buggy at times There are some problems when repeatably skipping songs where the next song in the playlist will fail to load and play the previous song instead and the background service failing to close at times. Otherwise a great app, developers are making progress from what I've seen. -- Update: Same problems months later, new functionality but not addressing problematic code.
Perfect Only downfall needs more music in prime. Please. But completely perfect. Love it. I listen to nothing else period anymore.
OK app, but could be much better The app works for most of the time just fine, but importing your own music and in particular album artwork is a major issue which Amazon hasn't been able to figure out. Artwork issues have persisted at least since 2013
Download Storage issues: device storage full error 206 Its a little clunky. With 155 songs downloaded so far to my LG phone, i'm now getting "device storage full" errors, even though i still have 28g unused on a 32g data card and had pushed the app to the SD card before starting any downloads. Internal memory still has 600mb free. Android 5.0.1 on LG software version L22CV10a.
Amazon Prime&Video makes it well worth the Prime Sub. Good library of "free" music, and the app is the only stable, well made Amazon technology Ive used Amazon music has a great library of "free" music - stream or download any of it (DRM locked, only playable if your sub is active), and the app is really the only solid, regularly maintained Amazon technology (Amazon has a grand reputation of releasing a half-assed, beta quality product and then abandoning it or just putting minimal effort into updating/upgrading. Fire TV, Fire Phone, most of their apps, etc - all half finished upon release). Combine this with Prime video (equal/better than) neflix; Rockin!
Needs some fixing I couldn't find some popular songs. Like A Sky Full Of Stars EP by Coldplay. Also I get a playback error when trying to play one song in a loop (says error #181)
Some issues but still better than other apps Freezes from time to time but otherwise I find this app very user friendly. Easy to make your own playlists and it's very clear what is free with Prime or you can go to the store and buy and download directly. Would be even better if the menu would be accessible at all times instead of disappearing when your searching for music. There was a widget as well but it seems to have disappeared now. So in short, it needs some work but I really like it despite it's issues.
Great Service/App The fact that it comes with my Prime subscription is great, no additional monthly charge that way. Mainly using it to replace my combined use of Spotify and Pandora, not as full of a selection of music as Spotify has, but the quality of the app design & UI, audio quality, station song selection is spot on (might even predict songs I'll like better than Pandora, 1000% better than Spotify's radio), and the website for it is great too. Overall great product.
Needs support for LG V10 Like most V10 owners, this app starts 10 seconds into a song. Since my carrier installed it as a system app I'll be disabling this app until Amazon decides they want to address and not ignore the issue.
Wipe and burn After the last update Amazon music has completely wipe all the music off my phone even wipe songs not from Amazon music then immediately burned 20 gigs of data redownloading music but never redownloading it it always comes up with an error message saying it wasn't downloaded it was a downloading error or the song is not playable then it wipes everything back off again
New Bugs The app was working well a few weeks ago, but now the lock screen controls do not showcase any information, just says "loading". Also still a pain to get music from Amazon to sync with my Google account. Very disappointed.
I like it but.. It's not the most user friendly app. Takes a bit of getting used to if you want to save music to your device.
Easy to use great selecfion Love this app. The only issue i have more specifically today the app has stopped working and made my phobe freeze. This phone is only a day old so not happy with that
While the ability to upload your own music and add prime titles to your library is nice, the subpar audio quality when streaming undermines the entire offering.
Has most of what i want As a bilingual guy. I want international music sometimes they have it sometimes they dont. But for the most part this app has just about everything you want to look for. Including covers that you like over the original
Almost perfect If everything was free this would be 5 star and that's unfair... got to love everything that comes with prime
Select Album You still have not fixed it still shows Album by Artist. Any Albums that are Compilations are a mess. Unusable complete rubbish. But thanks for listening??
Music any place I feel like my whole cd/mp3 collection is with me wherever I go. Amazon music let's me listen to everything and anything I purchased or loaded to the cloud.
Much improved over the years The original app was atrocious, but slowly Amazon has improved the functionality to the point that it is my go-to music app (especially with the Echo). Now get a version of Amazon Prime TV/Movies for Android TV!
Great music service Good selection of music, relevant suggestions, good player. Nice perk of Amazon Prime, has taken over as my main source of music.
Where did All my music go Amazon? I have been using this app for about a year now and everything's been great with it until I came home today. All of my downloaded music is disappeared off my phone and i no longer have access to it. Seriously hundreds of songs just missing no other data gone just songs What's Up Amazon?
Freezes all the time. Very faulty. Always freezes at second song played. The app goes into the loading circle of death. Plays a max of 1.5 song then completely useless. I have high-speed wifi, a new phone and all other apps work just fine. Please fix this app. It is very disappointing and frustrating.
Solid four. Would have given better, but still building their library. And you can not beat the price with everything else Prime gets you.
What a nice surprise! Not only do u get free shipping (for your $100), but u get great shows, AND, music that u can download to your devices. Great service!
Music Download It's a good app. Has all the music I want, but some of the albums I've purchased have not downloaded to my phone's music library.
The only one I use Works great on my S3 phone and my Galaxy 4 tablet. No need to use anything else.
Needs fix I know it's not my end. Because I've intentionally Uninstalled apps to reinstall. Everything is perfectly fine I even troubleshooted all the steps. But I can't install the latest amazon updates on any amazon app. It fails on my LG G4 vs986 marshmallow update.
Love it Has a section that is always changing with a lot of 5$ albums and another section for 69¢ singles. Plus other random deals. Plus a HUGE library.
It's alright... I only use it because my Amazon Tap isn't compatible with Google Play. I don't like the 250 song download limit, I am a prime member and I feel as though unlimited uploads of music I have already purchased should be a privilege us prime members should have.
I have no idea how this works. Feels like I have to jump through a thousand hoops to listen to whatever I'm in the mood for. I was under the impression that Prime meant unlimited music, but there are a lot of limits!
Move over Pandora I didn't even know this was a thing, and I've been a prime member for years! So don't with Pandora and their commercials and restrictions. Soooo awesome.
Pretty dope app, needs deeper music Amazon Music is a no-brainer for anyone with PRIME. The only issue is that they have a limit on the depth of their music. No early music nor none of the newest cuts. But fair.
Locks out your music Error 180. No fix in sight and it's been a known issue for months. Until and unless it's fixed expect random albums and songs to refuse to play
ARMYSoldier It's a ok app wish a that there were more music it's kinda a trick say unlimited music hut it's not. I can't even find simply song that play on radio. But to switch back to Goggle Music where it's actually all song and all.
Motorola G Only rated a 4 because of two reasons. How do I rate in half points and I just don't budget my time to thump! Mine is mostly on the fly.
Lost my albums Lost all the album's that I ripped and uploaded. Despite being a prime member for over three years. Good luck with amazon cloud services.
Nailed it! Totally takes the gnarly cake with music apps!! Nothing better. But that's an obvious because AMAZON IS THE DOPEST OF DOPES!
Awesome streaming The selection may not be that great, but it's free! ( for Prime users, and everyone should be a Prime user..there should be a law to that effect)...Best feature is Offline listening.
Some things I can't listen to for free, and I have to use data to listen. It's like going to a bank where you have all the money, but they will not let you withdraw any cash.
Randomly turns off Selection of music is alright. Not very many lesser known artists. But I do love you can download full albums for offline play. Biggest downside is that it will randomly turn off at any given time.
Favorite service for my music! I can listen to full albums, download music to listen to when offline, and a lot of albums are even in explicit or censored, which helps when I'm around my son and don't want bad language in my music, I like it a lot, wish there were more artist and album choices though for Spanish especially, but overall I like it.
Pretty good. It's a little difficult to navigate. And I have bluetooth headphones that I have to hold a button to skip back but it takes to long and will only restart the song. Don't have this problem with any other music player.
Really good ap I didnt know i could use this even though ive been a amazon prime user for over a year so i think it should be a little more made aware! Its a little bit fiddly to use. Could use some more rock/indie music. However on the whole its really good, enough for me to cancel my spotify
Had to uninstall The app failed to update and wouldn't allow my other apps to update. Not worth the aggrevation . It had to go.
Awesome selection Was very surprised by how much music is available. It is a very user friendly app. The only issue I am having is when two of us are using the app on separate devices at the same time, it stops playing. Kind of annoying.
Getting better! Very bad selection of punk! Only a few bands. I listen to a wide range of music and most of that is on prime music. The app is easy to use and has an offline function. Bluetooth connectivity works well when streaming to a car stereo, or any other Bluetooth enabled device, speakers, earphones etc.
Awesome addition to being a Prime Member They don't have every song I want but it's a great plus to being a Prime Member to have non commercial music. Plus their music selection keeps growing which I love.
Have issues with sound quality, crackling, skipping, cutting out. Only on some songs. Good accessibility, and love being able to buy a song instead of an album.
It's the iTunes equivalent!!! Amazon music is Dope! It has everything I need for the most part, but there are just a few things that they could improve on.
Excellent a must have for all Internet users Has some of the cheapest items you can buy with next day delivery on prime also video a wide range of Free movie's also top list movies to rent or buy. Also Amazon music millions of songs at your fingertips again to by also there's just so much I may have forgotten something's. I never pay out for music or film or an app ever but prime is the first I have subscribed too for £7.99 a month is only £1.90p a week it is just not worth messing around searching around for free songs and movies it is illegal too!
GUI is in need of improvement The content is fine and mostly what you'd expect, but navigating this app is frustrating. Also, lately it's been having trouble playing things when you choose them. Usually I just have to pick something else
It's most definitely just ok Music selection is ok, media player is ok, everything is just ok. Amazon prime has the comprehensive package with movies tv and music all in one but the devoted sites like spotify for music or hulu for tv are going to have every last obscure song or show while Amazon seems to be a little stingy with buying rights. Get competitive Amazon!
Search engine not as good as it used to be. Used this for years , grt app . But , you seem to have changed the search option ! If I make a typing mistake, I have to re-type the whole thing again, I have to get the exact name correct . No options/alternative. Previously, I could input at point of mistake..
Lags The music content doesn't play complete songs without interruption. Including songs that are my playlist. Please fix for a better rating.
No worky All I see is update here but the thing isn't installed on my phone to begin with so I try the update and it's still not on my phone. It says it is updated and from Google play you can say to open it but it does absolutely nothing. LG g4. Tried uninstalling all things amazon from phone and still nothing works. Be nice to find an app that isn't some retarded update package but rather the full install.
Works great but has one small glitch! I love this app for its straight forward functionality...but it has one glitch...It sometimes difficult to close, and will occasionally try to reopen. This is really just a minor irritation that Im confident they will fix eventually! UPDATE: this small glich is maybe not as small as i suggested earlier. Its getting very irritating....
The app tends not to do what I expect so I often get lost when looking for new titles or something in my library. Love the song previews.
Expanded Music Selection I've been searching for Hawai'ian music for a long time (specifically Keali'i Reichel and mark Ho'omalu) but could only find the cd's, which were SUPER pricey (even here on Amazon). Now, the specific tracks I was looking for are all available digitally, which is so fantastic!! Also, I'm able to find a lot of indies music on here (although they Def need to keep expanding their selection there). Love it!
Keeps stopping Just upgraded to the Samsung S7, and now I can only get maybe half way through a song and it just stops playing.
Pretty good most of the time I find it likes to crash when I'm using Snapchat, but that might have been my old phone.
Keep expanding your music and all will be well. Also, your shuffle feature for mixing up songs in your collection does not work well. It is a not so random assortment and frequently plays the same song and the same albums with no regard to the rest of your collection.
Pretty good, not great... mainly using it because it's included in my prime membership Spotify deffinatly has more music selections and better pre-made play lists. I wouldn't get prime just for the music though...
WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS APP? I used to love how easy it was to buy, then download music. Now I can't get a complete album to download no matter how many times I try! It's driving me crazy, I'm still trying to get music I bought weeks ago. I don't have time to chase down some customer service rep, just fix it please.
Not working on 6.0.1 Currently on Android 6.0.1 on a Nexus 6 it gets all ready to play something, then a spinning circle appears in place of the play/pause button and never goes away.
There are several issues with buffering, the number one being that while it buffers, it doesn't actually pause the song. So if it takes 30 seconds to buffer, once it starts up, it'll be 30 seconds into the song, or if it paused in the middle of a song, it'll just skip 30 seconds of the song, which kills the flow of the music. Also, anytime I put the app in the background, so I can have Waze in the foreground, the app will randomly close. Sometimes it closes after 5 seconds of being in the background, sometimes 5 minutes. But it always eventually closes. If I leave it on top though, it doesn't have issues with closing randomly.
Good app It's good, not great. Selection caters to mainstream which makes sense, however would appreciate more than billboard top 40.
Off-line playlist disappeared I've created two offline playlists and the songs disappeared from both playlists on the last update. I had over 8 hours of music between the two playlists. I'm not really too excited about reloading the songs to the playlists if they are just going to disappear again on the next update. Until this happened, the app was too notch for me. Not pleased at all
Quality App A big selection of music. The app can be a little fiddly. However, the play back quality is good. Love being able to download.
Like it!! I like this app since it doesn't mess up all the time and it is wonderful!! I hate that some of the old songs u got to pay for but other than that, its great!??
Keeps restarting songs Ok, app is ok, music selection is ok. Here is what is not good about the app. About half of the songs will play half way through then restart the same song. Over and over and over again. This needs to be fixed.
IF YOU'RE WONDERING WHY THE APP IS ONLY PLAYING SOME OF YOUR SONGS, AND NOT ALL OF THEM, READ HERE. So as of the most recent update, the app has a serious bug. When playing a song, say a song whose name starts with "Ta," all songs that come after "Ta" in alphabetical order will be placed into the play track. All songs before "Ta" will not be accessed. So if you pick the very last song in alphabetical order (the bottom of your song list) that will be the only song the app will play. Shuffle, repeat, it doesn't matter. Likewise, if you pick the first song in alphabetical order (the top of your song list) then you will have access to ALL of your songs. Obviously though, this means you cannot start a listening session on the song you want, without excluding many of your other songs. The only way to do that would be to start with the first song at the top of your song list, and skip songs until you get to the one you want. Amazon: Fix this.
Shuffle All After the 5/26/16 update when I press Shuffle All it creates a playlist of only 500 songs. Is this a glitch or a new "feature?"
Few ad disruptions - great stations I very much enjoy Christian rock - especially TobyMac. Thank you Amazon Prime for this awesome free servce.
Requires other Amazon Bloatware to update! All Amazon apps must be enabled in order to update them, make sure they are enabled. Why is this necessary Amazon? We don't need them all!
Good but not quite there...... I have had one glitch with this app since I downloaded the app. I bought a couple of albums with autorip and when I tried to download them the app kept throwing up an error code saying that the devices memory was full, despite having an almost empty 64Gb sd card as the storage location. Had to uninstall and re-install. Absolute pain in the wotsit!!! On a slightly different note, the app could do with a graphic equaliser, as the app somehow bypasses the equaliser on my xperia z3.
Great music app with prime music One of the big perks with Amazon prime is this app. The selection of prime music that can be downloaded on your phone is incredible. Plus the music stations that streams are fantastic. For Pandora fans like me, this is even a better option because there are no ads, you can skip songs and you can reply them. Such a nice feature! If I did not have prime, I would not have this app. The other big perk is purchased songs come in MP3 format, which is very universal. Good job Amazon!
Sucks Nothing but crashes on nexus 6, this is the only app. that does this! Come on guys, get it right!
Newest update With the newest update, Prime Music rarely even let's me log into my Amazon account, much less even get to the point of actually playing music. The one or two times I've taken the 10 minutes of fumbling around to log on, the widget no longer works, either. Not impressed.
Love the music hate the..... delay If it worked everytime I opened it, it would be great. But it doesn't. Massive delays the widget it virtually useless. You cant get back to the play list selection or library using it. Then its not a shortcut at all is it? Lastly qhat is the app doing when its just spinning on downloaded or sd card music! What are you processing or thinking about? Annoying but all my music is there! And that prime selection is fire ?
Love it Not much to complain about. I only wish there was one of those video features to watch the bars or sound jump around across the screen while i was listening to music
Great service, decent app The app is a little slow and buggy. It is usable but not 100% smooth. Could there be a music queue implemented? That'd make it a 5 star app! Edit: Queue was just added! Amazing!
Gutted Really wanted to use it instead of spotify but mobile use is more cumbersome and the buffering is too much too often. I thought it might be the poor conection but spotify is fine. Really really disappointing.
What I want, when I want it And it's totally commercial free! I love the lyrics, especially when it comes to party karaoke. We might sound terrible, but we are at least singing the same words terribly!
Does a lot of things very well UPDATE: Latest version causes constant crashes. REALLY makes it impossible to use. END UPDATE. I got this after becoming an amazon prime member and it has a surprisingly good mix of genres. I like the prime station feature and have gotten a lot of good suggestions and been reunited with some long forgotten gems. Only tiny complaint is the playlist manipulation is a little cumbersome on a phone, but it works a bit better on a larger tablet.
Download Problems I recently got this app so I could download some albums off of the app, but the three albums only appear on this app and not anywhere else on my phone. One of these albums also deletes some of the songs on that album from my offline library and forces me to redownload them.
Shuffle ruined by new queue system Queues in other music players are great conveniences but here it's fundamentally broken in the context in shuffle. It can only hold a queue 500 songs surrounding alphabetically the first selected song. And if you choose a song at the end of your library the selection is even worstIn large libraries this is a huge flaw as it takes away much of the variety, the point of shuffle. Hopefully Amazon fixes app ruining flaw.
Has a long way to go The content is pretty poor to be honest. There's barely anything recent on here, it's all older hits that were milked dry in the charts. In addition to that, the app is pretty awful. It's clogged up with all the singles I bought years back that I'm not interested in. I wish they would be kept separate. It also crashes most of the time. Around 80% of my journeys experience 5-10 minutes of silence while the app crashes and restarts. Then I have to set the playlist away again.
Navigation gone wrong Send Madison used to be simple and easy. Now it seems impossible to go up to the library...click ellipse, go to playlist, pull over (but don't get the phones edge menu) then go to library. Looks like the good idea fairies wanted to change something, but lacked good ideas of improvements, so made some stuff up
Play Queue is just awful It has got to be the worst update I've ever seen. And I'm sure some one likes it but give us the actual option to turn it on and off. I like listening to all of my music not just some random grouping. Not happy. At all.
Mixed up album covers/tracks ? I don't understand why the tracks of my albums have the wrong pictures next to them. Not all. ...but still it's frustrating! ! Why would this have happened? ?? I don't want to pay any more money ie Amazon Prime. ....I feel Amazon are really pushing for everyone to subscribe! !!!
A good competitor After coming from Google Music, I had great expectations but there is no where near the amount of music available. Although the app is good, now with play queues it's much better. Although it can crash every now and again and the notification can be temperamental. Bar that, it's good... Just add more music to Prime amazon!
Two things missing: 1. Doesnt have a GREAT selection of music, its good, not great (take off a star) 2. I cant make the app play all songs in shuffle mode! (take off a star)
It's okay Basically it's okay.. doesn't have all of the songs but for the fact it comes included with my student prime is great. Could add some more songs and the layout could be better but overall very good for the price
Great features but difficult to use I found this thing super confusing and really weird in many ways however it is worth it because there's a great selection of music and one of the nicest features is the ability to download music that is on your device so can be played any time even without a data connection it doesn't use up your data plan that way. aside from that it probably took me more than a month or two of using it to begin to feel comfortable and to know what to do and where to go.
Love it some tweaks could be useful Great app. Use only it for music. Love how it has lyrics for most songs. I do however wish they would make it so that if I am on a stone sour station I don't end up listening to zz topp stations kind of stray sometimes but overall fantastic
Update Error Fix Amazon made this app and the other Amazon apps dependent on Audible for whatever reason (apps don't need it installed!) few updates back. If it's disabled or not installed, install it or activate it then update it to the latest version. All Amazon updates should work then... you can disable/uninstall Audible after the updates... Giving all Amazon apps 3 stars till they revert this change...
Can't install update I love this app but it won't update this time around. I updated all my other apps, but this one won't update. :-( I keep getting Error code 505 please help!!
I don't like being forced to have apps I've tried uninstalling but if I do that I get a warning that I could screw up my phone. I've tried so it won't update because I don't use this app why should I be forced to update? Frustrating!
New update This new update is awful. When I select shuffle all, I mean shuffle all rather then shuffle small number of total songs. I don't want it to select a random amount of shuffled songs that stops playing completely after the last selected song is played
Awesome music app!! Easy to use. Great selection of music. I love being able to create my own playlist!
Inconsistent controls Prime music is great, I love this service. However, on the app when I try to go back to get to the home screen to change playlists or switch from Prime music to my playlist I never know if I'm going to end up with the home screen a previous screen or if the back button will exit the app completely. This is extremely frustrating. I love the service, I just wish the controls on the app we're consistent.
galaxy s3 lte 4.4.4 occasionally just stops streaming at random. downloading songs to your device is ok - but you can't delete them after to free up space - you need to do it yourself from a file manager. *my main gripes are: rage against the machine's debut album says 'bullet in the head' doesn't have any swearing in haha (big issue for parents considering it's got the loudest, longest F-word ever in) and you have to drag sliders - you can't just tap halfway through a song*. nowhere near as good as googleplay music
Not a very good music player You can't start from where you left off on a previous time and if you leave the player in the notification bar it just shows "loading" after a few songs play. When you click on an album to play even though shuffle is on it starts from the same song every time so because you can't start from where you left off you hear the same song very frequently.
Latest update makes most songs unplayable The previous update made the app laggy and buggy and now with this one I can't play any songs :c I'm pretty much only still paying for Prime to use the free music but if this app keeps sucking I'm planning on canceling my membership entirely and uninstalling the app. Very frustrating.
Great selection for prime users When I play music through my phone's built in speakers, it will play at max volume (where I set it) for about 5 seconds, it will then reduce the volume and I am unable to turn it back up. Not a serious bug because I can use headphones but I would still like to be able to hear my music without them.
Still AWESOME, it kept music I bought years ago I reviewed this a year ago & my 5stars still stand. I can access my music anywhere including stuff I bought years ago! It's also pretty simple to buy new stuff. I have it on my phone & laptop. Great app if u want to just by & play music
Navigation & selection is not friendly Difficult to exit & turn off the app Needs a mono/stereo option to allow use of 1 earphone (lots of people who have hearing in only 1 ear out there)
Spotify Not Needed If you have an Amazon Prime account then you don't need a Spotify pay subscription. Amazon Music has the same and sometimes a better library. So glad I checked this out.
If you're having the 505 can't install error like myself. You had to enable the audible book app first then update audible followed by updating amazon music. Took me 3 months to get this app back working please fix this stupid bug
So far so good Too proprietary, not as many available devices for compatability spotify, IHeart, or Pandora. Gave it an extra star because they're the only deficiency that will give you at least one copy to download to your DEVICE (Google Play will give you 2 copies, but only to a PC, like that makes sense).
Like it, but one big issue Will absolutely not play my entire downloaded library without restarting. Sometimes it will play 10 or 15-20 songs in a row. Sometimes it'll play about 7 or 8 and then say it's at the end. When this happens you have to back out and start over. The other thing is, when you play it on shuffle it will play the same group of songs every time. I have more songs then you could ever listen to in a day... But I can guarantee you there's about 10 of them that you will hear every time you hit play.
Better than Google Play. Easier to work than Google Play, doesn't keep directing you to Radio Stations. Not as many songs at the moment, although I expect it will improve. Works out cheaper as with prime you get Instant video as well. £79.00 a year as opposed to £9.95 a month with Google.
Not updating The most recent update will not download for me. This is frustrating as this is my primary source for downloading music. UPDATE: Since I figured out how to remedy my problem, I'm satisfied again. I'd still like to see more options for manipulating the music with crossfading and other playback features.
App has gliches I like the service. Great value add to Amazon Prime. That being said, I've experienced issues where the music that I've downloaded won't play. I've had to reinstall twice in the past week. Not sure what the issue is, but it does exist on my note4.
All in one library This app allows me to combine my own music, plus music I have purchased on Amazon, plus the free music available through Amazon Prime. It allows me to keep my music in the cloud so I can access it from anywhere. It does not have the annoying DRM features that some other applications have.
I feel their is a lack of music I use this because we have prime account. I had been using google music play for the past few years. After using this, I feel Amazon doesn't have a large selection of music. I have searched for a some album's by an artist and only one appeared... Not the album I wanted. It seems like it conforms to only the "popular" songs.
Terribly slow in Note 7 Terrible. Keeps saying "Sync with cloud". A simple song (even on my downloaded library) can take like 1 to 2 minutes before start playing. Totally waste of time. It used to work better on my note 4.
Not too bad I like that my old CD purchases are available for streaming and the range of music available. However the interface is confusing and sometimes irritatingly so. I don't like having to struggle to get to the playlist from the player when minimised
Amazon spoils its name with this app This application is killing me. i have to enable the random play every time i open the app. And, i also have to download all my playlist multiple time bc it doesn't play without internet after some time i downloaded them. Amazon if you wanna do something, do it perfect, otherwise it spoils your name.
I liked it better when I first got it I guess my biggest problem is that now I have to put up with playlists and recommendations. I prefer just searching a certain genre and finding something versus being recommended things in my genre of choice and only being shown what the deem popular. Other than that I like it. Hate playlists more than anything.
"Every Thursday is a Throwback Thursday with Amazon Prime Music" Frequently stops and stutters when other free music services do not. As soon as you "like" a song expect every radio station to become a repeat playlist of your recent thumbs up. Bad for finding new music, undependable for streaming. I especially like how convoluted adding liked tracks to prime, offline and cloud libraries can be.
Problem with downloaded music I've had this app since I had this phone. Always liked it but every update messed it up so I stuck with the default. It worked great. However, I recently had to factory reset my phone. When I started using the app I downloaded my songs so I could use them for my work alarms again. I found out none of my downloaded music shows up on my phone. It's nowhere to be found except through the app. I'm a bit upset about it as my music is what I start my day with. I can't figure out a fix for this yet.
App does NOT work. You purchase songs, press the download button. It says your song is downloaded, but when you go to your offline library, it's NOT there. It's never there. So you end up on the phone with Amazon, clearing cache, resetting this, resetting that, going to phone settings, then app settings, restarting your phone, etc. and if you're lucky, you can FINALLY get your download to show up in your offline library. Then the next time you purchase a song you have to go through the same arduous process. GARBAGE!
Very good app especially for Prime! Easy to use. Very good app. With a Prime membership, you can stream almost any full album you can think of. Saves clutter and time. Helps get me through my work day. Nice job Amazon!
Big Dissapointment Playlist randomly go away. Prime's selection is way to limited...spotify has way more variety. Only reason I would ever use it is because it's included in my Prime membership.
Not updated for Nougat It worked great in previous Android versions, but after updating to Nougat many songs stop playing halfway through. It seems like the only thing to do is to skip to the next song manually.
Best music app ever! With your Amazon prime subscription you can stream tons of free music. I have songs I've paid for but 95% of my music is free. And it's not all old music, some is newly released!
I used to love this app but it's recently become unusable. I can't seem to listen to more than about 5-10 downloaded songs, if I'm lucky, without it restarting my phone. If I skip a song, it restarts my phone about 50% of the time. Sadly, I'm back to old fashioned MP3 listening with my phone's default music player.
Great Music Collection--and! Amazon has quite the music collection AND--dig this now--these guys over here, they throw this aural accumulation right there on top of your Amazon Prime subscription at the bonus price of $for.free Huzzah for hUmazon!... mostly. Now, if only they would work on simplifying their Echo/Music App/Playlist user-interface, well, if only...
Problem fixed thank you Thank you for listening finally. I hope the lesson was learned that when you have a perfect product, and I hate to use a cliche but, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I realize you have to do updates to get your apps to work with new operating systems but please test new code more extensively with existing systems before you release updates. Us Prime members love Amazon Music as you can see by the outcry. If your programmers are bored have them rewrite your other apps that aren't on the Google Play Store.
I used to give 5 stars Solid app. With few hiccups. ......915/16: This app. Has not worked in days! Either crashing after 1 song played or simply not working. FIX THIS APP!
Great selection, terrible UI Amazon Music does a great job letting me access my purchased music and a large library of free-with-Prime tunes. Unfortunately, managing playlists is an almost comically muddled affair with this app. Cloud and local playlists don't sync well, editing playlists is confusing. As with other Amazon apps, if the UI could match the quality of the content, I'd be so happy....
S. Parker We love Amazon Prime it's very useful and the 2 day shipping is great! We just started using the Amazon Music on our phone especially and it's a great mix of Christian Contemporary music that we love. We also use Amazon Prime on our TV to watch movies & TV series!
Buggy Great app for discovering new music and finding old music. I have over 4,500 and continue to find more good music. It just lags and crashes so much. Plays music sometimes when the app isn't even opened. Wish it would get fixed.
A very polished app. Competes heavily with others. Amazon music is like the diamond you find on the beach when you're just walking around and looking for no apparent reason. After using both pandora and spotify (even opening a spotify premium) I stumbled upon Amazon music - it functions just like the others and, with a prime subscription (which is already an amazing thing from amazon) it comes packaged. It is great. However, I have to take off some points - a few audio hitches and they seem to be a bit slow with new releases.
Now has some major issues There were many things I liked about this app, before Amazon changed how it works or links to your Amazon account. When updating my payment info on my Amazon account the app stop working saying I could not purchase music. It appears you have to activate one click buy on your mobile device to get the app to work. That's not something I want to do. The app will not link to your Amazon account unless you authorize one click buy on your account. Pretty disappointed in Amazon.
Very happy! Interface has gotten much better both on web and via app. Love that I can download my favorites to my phone so that I don't use up my plan. Also great for traveling and commute when wireless access is spotty or unavailable.
Good Effort. I have an issue with multiplying songs. As in, one song will appear 3 or 4 times and play over and over again. I deleted the multipleus, which took longer than it should have due to the glitchy interface, only to have them come back plus one! There's one song I absolutely do not want any more (makes me cry!) and it keeps popping up like the annoying neighbor across the street. Please fix this!!
What I need and easy No streaming service is perfect. You get a good selection of new and newer music. It is not the place to go for deep tracks or B-side stuff.
Hopefully only a work in progress I expected much more from Amazon. The sound quality simply is not that good. How about putting in a ROBUST EQUALIZER? Not all Amazon music purchases "since 1998" are in Cloud. Navigation can be awkward.
Where's the music...player? I love using the app, especially with Prime, but I dislike the fact that the music player disappears whenever I exit the app. I play music on my commute and when I pause it, I'd like to get back to the song I paused on and not have to shuffle my whole library again. Can you make the player permanently stay along the bottom of the app or give it its own tab for "Now Playing?"
Still Astounding music quality!! I'm still waiting for the ability to choose the length of time between songs. I actually want a 2 or 3 second overlap! Otherwise, I am so amazed at the clarity and depth of music when I listen to the Amazon music app. I listen to songs I've listened to for over thirty years and have discovered instruments and voices in the mix for the first time. This far surpasses iTunes in musical reproduction. PLEASE allow ME to choose spacing or overlap between songs in my library!
Not Quite a 5-Star I can't give it a 5-Star because it quit playing and syncing my music. I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work. Now I have to rebuild my playlists. Issues bluetoothing thru radio in my Ford Edge; I have to re-select it after calls.
Good service, horrible app. I downloaded all of my music to the sd card of my previous phone. When I got a new phone, I moved the sd over. Instead of recognizing the library, the app went ahead and downloaded everything to my device (6+ gb). I uninstalled to try and free up the space, and all of the data was dumped uselessly into the "other" heading when using storage manager. I can't delete it. I re-installed to try and delete the songs first, and I have nothing in my library. It bricked half the storage on my phone! Factory reset...
Come on! The latest update screwed it up! It was finally working great and had all the features I was looking for, then you had to go and "improve" the functionality out of it.
Love Amazon ...But hate they took away the feature that showed similar music. Half of my music purchases came from that feature, buying music i never heard b4 from artist i never heard of b4. Please bring that feature back. Please.
Great app. Thanks. I don't need to download my purchased music to access it, I know what to expect since I bought the albums, and I can pause or skip a song from the security screen without having to unlock the phone. Good job, Amazon.
Great I having been having issues with the latest update. Having glitches, slow performance, lagging GUI and refusal to close. Dropping one star until resolved. Android 6.0.1
