A2DP Connect2

Widget to connect to a Bluetooth A2DP streaming (A2DP) receiver without having to navigate through all the settings menus. This widget can be placed on a home screen. Once you place it on a screen, a configuration activity will let you select which Bluetooth device would want to associate with the widget. Short click the widget for connect the A2DP device. Click again to disconnect. This widget will only connect/disconnect the A2DP profile. It will not connect or disconnect any other Bluetooth profiles.

This version is for Android 4.2 and up. It may not be supported on all devices! I don't have all devices to test so you will just need to try it. Several have left bad ratings. If you have the same device as one of the bad ratings claiming it does not work than it may not work on those devices.

Note: This is only a widget, not an app. You must place an instance of the widget on your home screen. See your devices help for instructions on placing widgets on your home screen. All it does is toggle the connection to A2DP profile only. Nothing else. It does not handle pairing of Bluetooth devices either. Do that with your Android settings. Most of the bad ratings are from people who don't know how widgets work, or are having pairing problems.

Some improvement needed Decided to go with A2DP Switcher instead. Implemeting an active widget to show device state would be a massive improvement. Need to know I'm connected to right device before playing media and so was clicking and disconnecting and then connecting again all too often. That being said I tried a number of similar apps that would not work with my s4, so props for this actually doing what it says.

Not quite the widget I was looking for Android users are crying out for a simple widget to switch between bluetooth devices. This is nearly it. It's not the prettiest (a dashboard widget would look better) but its the best there is.. Agree with other reviewer who said that it needs to show device state - would be a massive improvement.

Love it!! I have used widgets for this but they are out of date ever since Jelly Bean. Was so happy to find this one!! Thanks Jim Roal!!!! By the way, it is working for me on moto X. Just 2 recomendations: 1. the icon is a bit large for my liking. 2. You should change the color of the icon when its in a connected State vs not connected

Dave Harby

Heavy User I'm a heavy user of this app. All of my music is played from my phone.....via bluetooth....to different devices. Tap the icon to connect to my living room stereo - tap again to disconnect. Then out to my Jeep and same. Then to the bathroom and same.

Conan Barbarian

Very nice. When you create shortcuts the different BT devices are labled on each shortcut. Maybe remove the bt-on permission?

Found a bug :( After creating a Widget, if you turn bluetooth off , you can't turn it back on without rebooting the phone. On a Nexus 5

Florin Sendrea

No work , on s5 Not even stick a icon on the screen, but show installed

Finally one that works I've been searching for a while for an app that would give me a shortcut to connect my phone to my car's newly installed bluetooth for media since it doesn't auto connect, mainly because I also have a bluetooth smart watch and LG Tone bluetooth lol. But this app/widget just makes a simple button that connect to my cars bluetooth and i don't have to go to settings, bluetooth, click connect, then go back to start my music app. So basically it does exactly what it needs to do and well. Thanks to the developer

Happy to find this update I loved the original version on my Droid RAZR. Now I'm glad to find the updated version for my Moto X. It does w exactly what in want. Thank you!

First app that has worked Works perfectly on my Galaxy Nexus 4.2.2. I use it to connect to my Creative D100 speaker which does not auto-connect when switched on.

יגאל ירושלמי

Works partly When connected to one BT device don't change the connection.

Shiva Chikkalli

Does not work for hm1300 Not sure if this is meant for a2dp profile only. Please update the support details.

Charlie Cruz

Best It's really good thanks

John Cassidy

Amazing App Jim Roal. You have nailed it on this app. So ready to go and easy to use. Appreciate the efforts and keeping it free!!

Aaron Rodabaugh

Perfect Needed an easy way to connect instantly to multiple bluetooth connections. These little widgets work perfectly.

Greg Spath

Does what it says This would be perfect for me if it could be integrated as a power toggle, or triggered by app launch (I'd like to shut down a2dp for maps in the car).

Moto X -- results not as desired I setup the widget for my car, wanting an ability for a quick turning off A2DP. Although the widget would temporarily turn off A2DP, the phone would automatically turn A2DP back on near instantaneously. On my car I would see "audio disconnected" pop up after tapping your widget, but within a few seconds I would then see "audio connected", and sure enough A2DP was connected. I have an unlocked Moto X on T-Mobile running kitkat 4.4.3

Flawless, convenient, and fast. SOLID! Couldn't get the author's Android 4.1 widget to work on 4.2. Widget toaster popup would simply report "iSpeaker disconnected" and did nothing else. HOWEVER, a few days ago, I installed the 4.2 version the author had clandestinely available at his download site, and now here. It works flawlessly, so much so that I've jettisoned my NFC experiments to get Bluetooth to connect automagically upon my touching my phone to a tag when I get in the car. You see, the phone needs to be unlocked anyway in order for the NFC program to read the tag. If I have to unlock the phone, then why not just make this program's icon widget front and center on my home screen. I touch it, it connects to the car reliably and instantly. Good on Jim for supplying the 4.2 upgrade. Thank you!!!

uninstalled way fast I did connect my bluetooth, but when toggling to on or off most of the time the connected device will remain either on or off regardless I switched on or off. And and moving away more than 1 foot the bluetooth device from my galaxy note 8 would interrup the streamed song. The player never stopped playing but this widget would interrup the streaming signal. uninstalled right away. using also motorola bluetooth model hs 3000. which I had used with 3 and 4 generation ipods, and a galaxy tab 2 7.0 with no problems.

Nexus 4 Didn't work on nexus 4 with latest version of android

Sabex Sabex

S GALAXY S4 It's work's! And for free!

Abhitosh Kumar

Nice It's work

Peter Mit

Spot on! Exactly what I was looking for! I have a bluetooth RGB light bulb with speaker. Before I had to open youtube just to go to casting and disconnect the audio from the bulb. Now i can do it from home screen directly. Waiting on that feedback status, it would be very appreciated! 4 stars for now!

Pairing It is not compatible with the version 3.0 i having my smartwatch and the version is 3.0+edr but i cant pair it with my phn moto g2

Andrew Vidler

No change Did not solve problem of motarola nexus 7 not being able to connect to Bose speaker via A2DP. No harm done.

JOSEPH RUGALABAM

Not that quite...

Shea Cardinalli

App is OK. App is OK, however with Android 6.0.1 I'm finding that Bluetooth connects on its own just fine if simply enabled. The bigger question I have is why this was not integrated into the dev's other app - A2D2 Bluetooth. Also, the GPS function wastes my battery once locked on after parking despite being set to "disabled." Uninstalled, really no use.

Alan Robertson

Just what I needed I wanted a small widget to connect to a Bluetooth speaker without having to open Bluetooth settings. This widget works great.

Iheji Okechukwu

This is superb

Roy Trotter

Wtf Didnt even show up on my phone.

arie meiman

Best app for car Bluetooth The easiest app to use. 1- Install the app. 2-Create a widget for any BT device already synced with your phone. DONE! If your BT speaker doesn't auto connect after being turned on, this app is a MUST! 5 stars.....

Solution Wow what a app. Trying almost a hour for connecting my bluetooth headset hm1100 for playing songs. This app was the solution
